The service went great.
Description of Work: I bought all my appliances from Sears and they do the appliance repairs. They came out and installed all the appliances. I got my dishwasher, fridge, stove, and wash and dryer from them.

Very badly.
Description of Work: We have a Sears Kenmore Elite dishwasher that we purchased in 2006. It stopped working in September 2012 when the green clean light started flashing. The Sears repair people have been out 4 times since then and the same problem continues to exist. In my opinion Sears has provided horrible service that has caused a significant waste of our time. The dishwasher never cleaned that well in the first place and appears to have run its course after only 7 years. The amount referenced above is what we paid for the "repair" which wasn't one and they refuse to refund that amount despite all we've been through in dealing with them. On top of the 4 service calls there were 2 others that Sears failed to show up for in the 4 hour window promised. Their people are defensive and rude too.

We looked at a lot of stores before deciding on Sears. They had models on the floor of everything we were considering. Due to space constraints, we wanted to see the appliances before ordering them. Stacy, our salesperson, was more knowledgeable about all brands than anyone we encountered anywhere. She also was able to give us the best price anywhere. We ordered in June, took delivery (in our garage) in August, and after our kitchen was completed, the delivery service came back again to move the refrigerator into the house for us!
Description of Work: We purchased Kitchenaid appliances for our kitchen remodel.

I won't buy an appliance from Sears again unless I can bring it home myself. Bought a new washer, dryer and fridge to replace our outdated ones (fridge was 30-40 years old!) The gentleman who helped us at Sears was fairly helpful and kind, though we had to ask him to compare prices to competitors'. A local competitor had a lower price on some of the appliances, so we're glad we asked. Problems came with delivery. I don't know if Sears hires a 3rd-party mover or has their own, but the guys were worthless. They showed up on time, but the truck sat in our driveway for half an hour before they came in. We didn't know why until after they left - it seems one of them had tried to cover up a significant scratch on the fridge. When they brought the fridge in, they brought it in without one of the doors on it, which we thought strange. After they left, we began taking the protective tape off, and lo and behold, underneath one piece (which was placed rather strangely) was a huge scratch which had been haphazardly painted over. The scratch/cover-up is very visible on the front of the fridge. There was also another spot where someone had obviously tried to buff out a smaller scratch with an abrasive material (paper towel?) which left swirls in the gloss-black coating. And the new washer/dryer (a pretty red) were both scratched, though they hadn't tried to cover this up. We called Sears' 800 line to report the scratches. They couldn't replace the fridge door as we requested, and we didn't want them to replace the entire fridge, as we didn't want the same guys to deliver it, so they offered a few hundred dollars in refund gift cards. They took almost two months to arrive and arrived in small, separate increments, which made it difficult to figure out whether we were getting what they'd promised us. Nice of Sears to offer something in exchange for the scratches, but if I buy a new product with a nice paint job and it arrives looking used, refund gift cards for a small portion of the purchase price are not enough to bring me back as a customer again.
Description of Work: Purchased a NEW fridge, washer and dryer. Sears delivered them to our home a few days later.

Well the Salesman added in an extra warranty without telling us about it. BUYER BEWARE. The warranty does not do anything that AAA motor club doesn't. I hence called and canceled my warranty. Of course they thought I didn't hear him explain it. I said your right.... Because I can't hear anything that is not told.

Replaced rear struts. Original estimate was for $250. During the repair they noticed the mounts needed to be replaced. They called with the updated estimate, and were still able to complete the work on time.

AT NO CHARGE. THEY WANTED ME TO MAKE MY APPOINTMENT SO THEY PUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER THEN I CAME BACK AND IT WAS REPAIRED.
Description of Work: NTB WAS OWNED BY SEARS, AND TOOK OVER THEIR BUSINESS. THEY HONORED OUR WARRANTY ON THE TIRES, AND THE PART THAT WAS BROKEN , TO GET THE TIRE OFF. BALANCED AND ROTATED THE TIRES AS WELL.

THE $9 WAS AN INSPECTION FEE. IT TOOK CLOSE TO AN HOUR FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THEY DIDN'T HAVE MY BATTERY IN STOCK, SO THEY WENT NEARBY TO ANOTHER COMPANY TO GET THE BATTERY, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE WRONG ONE. I WAS SO IRRITATED, I PAID THE $9 AND LEFT.
