Description of Work: There were many things in my house that needed to be done, and he did all of them: childproofing cabinets, bookshelves, and a toy chest! He also replaced the cover on our chimney! He was very courteous, clean, and prompt!

 + 1 moreOn the second visit Paul and his helper arrived on time. They installed ceramic tile on the back splash in our kitchen.Installed light in hall coat closet. They were very prompt and was finished with the job in the allotted time.
Description of Work: As I expressed in my first review, Paul and his helper were very professional, excellent work,friendly,very punctual,cleaned up after project was finished. I can't say enough good things able the jobs they did. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to all my friends and family.

I was given very good advice on the phone and anticipated extra costs for plumbing supplies, which I agreed to having them purchase. They were prompt and completed the work in a timely manner. Extra supplies to fix plumbing were not brought along, though arrangements were made to return to do the work. However, no return visit was made. I plan on contacting after the holidays to address directly. I was very happy with the quality of work, honest feedback/advice, but disappointed by lack of follow through on additional work requested.

Description of Work: Replaced kitchen faucet. Noticed lead damage and ripped out flooring of cabinet under sink. A second viisit will occur to replace this flooring. Fixed hand-held shower piece. Replaced shower faucet stem & seat. Fixed piece of wood flooring that had come out. Also, provided me with an estimate for a garage repair.

 + -1 moreIt was a very good experience. Steve was very punctual with setting up a time to come out and do the work and showing up to do the work. He kept me apprised of what the work would entail and made sure I knew he would look for the best place to vent it. He explained the importance of venting it to the outside. He and his partner then went about installing the unit. Steve ended up having to do some extra drywall repair because the size of this unit wasn't centered completely over the hold from the old unit. He showed his experience by mixing up some spackling paste and finishing it to look exactly like the rest of the ceiling. They cleaned up the area pretty well after the work.
Description of Work: I had a bathroom light/exhaust fan combo installed where an existing light had been. This involved not just installing the unit but running the venting to the outside.

Description of Work: Steve was in contact with me and even stopped by to take a look at the work I asked him to do. On the day of scheduled work he was on time and got right down to work. I had a little bit over everthing......a little plumbing, a little drywall and a little tile work. The workmanship was all top rate and Steve and his helper worked start to finish without a break. On a scale of 1-10 I would give Schaefer Improvements a 12 ! I've already got several more jobs lined up for him. His wide knowledge base and job flexibility make his a real asset to have with my fixer'uper !

He pointed me in the most economical direction...making suggestions as to better do something. Never ever pushed me to overspend....worked hard to keep me in my budget..kept me on track and focused!! The end result is a beautiful kitchen...great flooring...open look to a dark and dreay kitchen. Steve and his crew are great to work with. They respect your ideas and your property. Description of Work: A friend and I started by repainting my kitchen cabinets. Then I decided I wanted a window bench....Steve built it. Then I decided I wanted different lighting in my kitchen...Steve made it happen. Then my friend couldn't finish the painting...Steve finished it!! Then I decided I might as well put ceramic tile down....guess who?? Then the backsplah....Schaefer Improvements AGAIN!! Description of Work: We purchased an Angie's List Deal coupon for three hours of handyman services from this company. We called to set up the appointment for them to come on a Saturday morning. No one from the company every showed up for the appointment after we waited all Saturday morning for them to arrive. In response to our call to them, we were told that they thought we were supposed to call and confirm the appointment with them. We do not remember promising to do this. However, we made a second appointment and Steve and his assistant did show up. We were very happy with their work and Steve was a friendly, hardworking handyman. We discussed some additional jobs we wanted him to do and he told us just to call when we were ready. We have placed two calls to Steve to set up an appointment to have more work done but he has not returned either of the calls. We were disappointed that we did not at least receive a return call so we could hire another company if Schaefer Improvements was not interested in our job.

 + 0 moreSteve and his assistant did an excellent job. They were running ahead of schedule and called asking if I'd like them to arrive early, which of course, I did. Steve is very personable and friendly while he is working. I had purchased an Angie's List big deal, and the work was all done in the allotted amount of time. He had called ahead of time so that we could go over the list of items that I needed to have done so he knew what he needed before arriving. Any mess that was made was cleaned up before they left, and all of the work was done to my satisfaction. I have hired Steve (Schaefer Improvements) before and would do so again.
Description of Work: Steve and his assistant cut and installed quarter round around the baseboard in my kitchen, caulked around my bathroom sink, installed 2 light fixtures and fixed a faucet drain plug that wasn't working properly. They also stained the quarter round.

 + 2 moreSteve and his helper arrived at about 9:20am. They immediately started to work. First was the squeakie floor in our master bedroom and bath upstairs. They shimmed a long wall that solve that problem. Worked perfectly. Then he took the light fixtures down that came with the house, and put up new fixtures. Then they replaced the bathroom fixture with a new one. Steve had to putty around the base at the wall of the new fixture in the bathroom to fill the open space left by the old fixture. They finished in about 2 hours or so. They were both very fast,friendly and efficient. We liked the work they did so much, that we have them coming back next Friday to install tile around the back splash in the kitchen and to run the electric and put up a light fixture in our hall closet. We highly recommend Steve. His work is top of the line.
Description of Work: Our home is only 7 yrs old and the floor in the master bedroom and bathroom upstairs was squeaking. Steve and his helper had to shim a long wall in the bedroom to fix the problem. Steve also installed new track lighting in our kitchen. He installed a new light fixture in our downstairs bathroom.
