Schaefer Improvements

I tried to schedule at my home prior to moving. I tried to use it at my moms also. He didn’t show up. He said that he had some personal problems that caused him to miss 3 different appointments. It has expired. I want a refund.

Very well. Steve comes in and goes right to work. He does not waste time which I appreciate. And gave me some useful tips.

Steve was very prompt and helpful in fixing up a duplex rental property. He provided quality work for wide variety of services such as HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, electrical, etc. He gladly did small 'punch list' types of work without additional charge. Very pleasant and enjoyable to work with. Plan to use again in the future and highly recommend him.

Everything went great as always! I love my new flooring so much that I am thinking about having him out in the spring to install the flooring in the kitchen. Thanks Schaefer Improvements!

It went great! Steve and his crew were very professional and did the work in very good time. When he came previously to give us an estimate on the gutter, he noticed the light fixture was just hanging down and suggested replacing it. When I mentioned I used the fixture for plugging in an extension cord for Christmas lights (which I place on bushes), he suggested putting in an outside outlet behind our bushes which are located in front of our house. An awning extends 3' which will hopefully help protect the outlet from too much heavy weather. His brother, who is an electrician, was visiting so he was able to install the outlet. Before beginning the job, he laid down a tarp to cover the carpet. He drilled a hole through the brick wall into the living room to accomplish this job. He tapped off existing living room outlet. After the outside outlet was installed, the hole was plastered and any clean up work was done very well. In the meantime, Steve and crew took off the gutter, put up metal flashing, replaced the gutter and installed a new downspout. Steve also installed a new outside light by our front door. They did a good job cleaning up.

The job was done very well but required 3 days work. The first day the bushes were removed and hauled away. Some of the bushes were dying but quite a few were deep rooted and looked hard to take out. A stretch of chain link fence was also removed. They also fixed an existing fence line which had been damaged by our neighbors. The second day the wooden poles for the wooden fence were put in place The third day both fences were completely installed. The fences look very good and everything was done as was discussed.

Everything was fine. It was hard to schedule an appointment. There were two people here doing the work and it took about an hour and a half to complete everything.

He wasn't able to do the work I needed. I thought a handyman would be able to do it, but it was more electrical in nature than I thought. He was very punctual and very polite. He offered me an alternative solution.

The service all was schedule easily and Steve showed up on time. He was a very friendly guy and understood exactly what needed done. We left him to his work and when we checked on with him he was nearly done. Upon inspection all the pendant lights he had hung were too low. When we questioned the height he assured us they we standard height from the ground. So we measured and they were not. He moved the large dining room light up (the easy one as it is on a chain) and "Give it a few days, if you don't like them I will come back and fix them." I called a few times and only got his answering machine. When I finally did catch him he told me he had been out of town and would come by later in the week. He never showed. I called almost dally for weeks and never got a response. I had to fix what I could. Two of the pendants need to be rewired to shorten them. $475 dollars later we are still hitting our heads on the light in our kitchen.

The basement was framed in about two. Steve and his crew were very professional and the price was very reasonable. It looks almost to good to cover with drywall. I contacted other companies before hiring Steve but there were not many who would do the work in phases. Most wanted to complete the entire basement which we could not afford to do all at once.

I purchased 2 Big Deals for $99.00 each. Mr. Schaefer replied promptly. I emailed him that I was gathering the items I needed him to install. I emailed him April 24th which was within the 6 month limit listing my projects. He never replied. I have tried to contact him through both email and phone calls a minimum of 5 times. I left him my cell and home phone numbers each time I attempted to contact him. As of today, Sept 22 he has ignored my calls. I want him to refund my $198.00 immediately.

The job was arranged easily, and the work was done well and completely. I am very happy with the experience and will use Steve again for future work. Nicely done!

Due to the weather we had a hard time getting this scheduled. We decided to hold off until spring. There seemed to be scheduling issues when contacting this company. He was supposed to come by on May 16, 2014 and never showed or called. I have contacted him numerous times and have not received any response.

We had issues initially with Steve not returning my calls and messages, but I am very glad I made one final attempt. I had an Angies list Bid Deal for 4 hours handyman service for $99. It turned out fortunate that we had not gotten together when I had first been trying, as I just noticed a leak in the bath the day before I finally got hold of him (actually was the reason I had tried that one final time). I also noticed that the Kitchen had a leak the day he was coming out. He and his assistant were both very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about the services they did, which also included replacing a porch light and installing some weatherstripping. I was so pleased with their work that I had them back the next day (a Saturday) to replace the door from the garage into the house. They also replaced the cabinet area under the leaking kitchen faucet which had developed some mold. I have been very pleased with the work and would have hire them again. They seem to have pretty extensive knowledge in their areas.

It went well and Mr. Schaefer completed all the work.

It was okay. The detail work wasn’t quite as good as I had hoped it would be. They were personable, nice, polite, and on time, but I would not call them back.

I tried to contact them multiple times to set up an appointment and they never got back to me.

They cleaned the grout for me. The service went well.

He was willing to work with me. We tried to work it out. I was out of town and never got around to it. I would like a refund.

He did an excellent job with the repair. He made it look flawless and I haven't had any issues at all. My only complaint was that he was blasting music in the garage from a popular radio station. I have small children and several of the songs were really offensive so I only wish that had he wished to listen to music, he wouldve worn headphones.

These guys are great. Work was done quickly and for a fair price. I am very impressed and will use them in the future whenever I can.

The project came up when Steve came out to my house over the winter to install a new toilet & install a light fixture. He gave me some ideas for a remodel & said he thought it would be a "fun" project - I liked that! When I contacted Steve in the spring he came right out & gave me an estimate. He stayed on budget, actually got project done at least 1 day earlier than projected. Steve & I texted each other or left voice mail messages both met w/immediate responses. When porch was complete, the following day we had a very hard rain & there was a water leak coming in. I took pictures & texted them to Steve & he called me back immediately. He thought the problem could be a roof problem & promised he'd be out the next morning to take care of things. Turned out he was right, there was damage on roof above window, probably caused by small animal. Steve did a temporary patch then returned within a week w/shingles to repair the damage. Turned out there were 2 small areas he patched for me. Steve was very professional, friendly & created a weather tight room for us to enjoy year round!

I bought 4 hours of handyman service. 2 men came and completed 2 hours of work where they cut and laid tiles for my bathroom. They were very meticulous and I'm very happy with the work.
