Schaefer Improvements

Schaefer Improvements was the sixth company that i had called to get an estimate for a new furnace and a/c unit. Steve from Schaefer improvements took the time to listen to what I needed from a contractor instead of trying to sell me something that I did not need. Out of all the quotes i had, I was able to get the best value within my price range from Mr. Schaefer. Steve arrived on the jobsite with his staff on time and ready to work. They removed the old unit, inside and outside and installed the new units relatively quick. The work was very proffessional and I have had zero issues with the new units. With the string of ninety degree days that we have had and the very many more to come this summer, I am very thankful Schaefer Improvements was able to get me on their schedule so quickly. While talking to Mr. Schaefer, i learned that they do all phases of construction, big and small. I must say, I plan on using this company for all of my upcoming houshold projects. I recommend Steve from Schaefer Improvements to all of my friends and family.

Steve Schaefer of Schaefer Improvements responded promptly to my request for an estimate on replacing my 30+ year old doors (entry & storm). He took the time to really discuss the issues with me & also to discuss some other repairs I want to get in the future. As I had no way to pick the doors up, he picked them up for me, along with a new lockset, the morning of the replacement. He & his employee were totally professional and very friendly during the time they were at my house. They did a beautiful job and I love my new doors. I will certainly have them back in the future & would recommend Schaefer Improvements to anyone.

I purchased the BIG Deal and asked Steve if he could install a new shower door. We remodeled our bathroom and needed the door frame put together and the doors installed. They set up a date for the installation, called when they were on their way, and arrived punctually. Both gentlement were very professional and extremely hard working. They did an excellent job, cleaned up the area, and even hauled away all of the packaging for the door. We were so pleased, I asked him for an estimate on replacing some of my wood siding on our house. This is defintely a company I will keep on record for many future projects.

I thought he was very reasonable compared with other companies and I was on a very tight budget so I am grateful to find someone to do this job within my budget. Not only was he very reasonable in price, but also very responsive and he started way ahead of schedule. I was surprised he and his crew could finish up so quickly and it looks absolutely great! I was very impressed with the quality, professionalism, low cost and he got a lot of work done very quickly. He seemed very knowledgeable about the construction industry and he gave me some tips about past construction jobs recently done on my house by someone else and about more improvements that need to get done. I plan on using him again for future jobs without a doubt.

Schaefer Improvements came in on a Saturday morning, went right to work and in no time at all, they had the door knocked out, cleaned up their mess and were gone. I purchased a Big Deal coupon for this company. It took a while for him and I to get together because of our schedules. He was having a busy time. He worked me in his schedule and he did a fine job. He wanted to make sure I was satisfied before he left and I sure was.

Had Schaefer Improvements install fan and light in bathroom, installed deadbolt lock in front door, painted exterior and interior trim. Very satisfied with work done and they completed it in timely manner.

He seemed like he knew what he was doing.

He did a reasonably good job. I’ve really enjoyed the clothesline. The line isn’t tied quite tightly enough due to the poles being secured with scrap lumber while the concrete set. He wasn’t able to get it Mole mover completely installed due to the type of soil I have.

He did a faboulous job. He was quick punctual, curtious, and called when he was on his way, very good at communicating. He got the job done in a timely manner.

The project was scheduled and completed on time (replacing ceiling fans) and within the time window we agreed upon; he also confirmed times and dates for projects. I am extremely pleased and have given him more projects as well.

I had called for an estimate and although he was slightly higher than other estimates I felt he was very qualified and gave a great detailed explanation how he would install with the opening that needed some modification. We set a date and time within a week's time but then he called to say he had a cancellation and they were able to move it up a week. The installation went very well and the end result was just as expected. They completely swept the garage floor and took away all the trash from the install. Not only did he install the plywood in the attic area but he put the items we were wanted to store up in the attic -- above and beyond service -- and confirmed the decision that the right company was chosen for the job! I would definitely recommend Schaefer Improvements to anyone needing his services.

It went very well. Steve is awesome and so was his helper Dustin. They cleaned up afterward and gave me some great advice for a non- working motion sensor!

Arrived when they said they would. Finished the job to my satisfaction and cleaned up area.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The crown molding was the main reason I purchased the big deal. He wanted to start with the crown molding on the cabinets. I discovered since that he didn't know how to do crown molding. Instead of telling me that, he used up an entire piece of the molding that I had purchased trying to cut it to get it to fit right. It was an 8-foot long piece and he cut it in probably 6 pieces. He told me that he didn't have the right saw blade so he would have to order one and it would be 2 weeks before it came in. He said he would call me and then he wanted to know what else I had for him to do. He did the entryway doors and he did okay on that. He cut the shelf for the microwave and later I discovered that he caulked around the edges and it looked terrible. He didn't mount it flush with the wall and it is not even. The panel above the refrigerator ended up bowing out the panels that run along the side of the refrigerator. I have somebody coming to repair that. He did a fine job putting the panels on the island. The handles on my son's closet doors weren't closing right and he said it was because they were not in the right position. He took those out and redrilled the holes and put them in a different place. I had told him my concern was that it was going to mess up the closet doors and I wanted them to look nice. I told him to leave them the same if he couldn't mask where the holes were. He said that wouldn't be any problem and he stuffed it full of caulk. He did very shoddy work. I would never use him again and I would never recommend him. He brought a helper with him because that cut his time in half. The guy was worthless. He just followed him around and didn't do anything. The guy kept rolling his eyes at him and telling me that he was learning. I don't think I got what I paid for because I really wanted the crown molding done. He should have told me that he doesn't do that.

Steve Schaefer is great. His price was exceedingly reasonable. We have a closet area in our master bathroom that has a ceiling fan. Condensation got in to the closet area. Steve fixed it by putting a roof vent above it. He put in a new half door.

The work was completed in a timely manner. Both men were friendly and professional. Once the work was completed they offed to do additional jobs as I had not used up all my time. I did get a written estimate to additional more involved work to be done at a later date.

He was on time and professional. I can always count on him and call him for my handyman work.

Steve was great. He was prompt about returning calls and scheduling the work. He and his worker were very courteous and even got along with our 2 dogs just fine. The amount I paid was in addition to the Big Deal, but it was definitely worth it. And I feel like they worked pretty quickly the entire time. I would definitely use Steve in the future for any handyman needs.

He was very personable and friendly. He did the work quickly and cleanly. He is my favorite contractor that I have ever had come out from Angie's List. He is great at getting a lot of small tasks done the right way in a short amount of time.

Steve is fantastic. Personable, customer service oriented and prompt. Always does exactly what he says. Even though the jobs were small, I never felt as if it was a waste of his time and he provided a step by step overview of what he did and why. I'll trust no one else in my home.

That did not work out too well. They were the one didn't even show up to do the work. They missed a couple of appointments. They ended up doing the work. Then, we decided to use someone else the next time. They were courteous and polite when they showed up, but they missed our appointments.

The owner came with one helper. The owner is very nice, but he works too fast. I would suggest that anyone using this company should be very sure about what they want the company to do and to stay with them as they work because they rush through the job and do miss things. I had to show them that they forgot to trim the bottom of the garage doors. They are in a hurry to complete the work, and tell you that they want to give you everything for the money you paid, and since it was a special price for a certain amount of time, they really rush!

took several trips since drywall mud need to dry. did a great job taping and patching - also had to texture ceiling.

great job - wanted them to do more work but could not get a return response after over 6=8 phone contacts - I gave up and moved on
