The quality of the service was fine when it was provided. My problem is getting Ping's to help me protect my trees as advertised and follow through on their promises. I must be too small-potatoes, I guess. I am already a year past when my trees were supposed to be treated, and I thought I was on a two-year auto service plan with them. So my trees have been at risk without my knowing it. They said they sent me a service agreement to sign back in 2015. I called yesterday to complain and they sent me a new agreement and said they would be out today. But they never came. I'm through with Ping's. I've learned that if you're a residential customer, they will not help you protect your trees from infestation and may not even be true to their word. Now I may be stuck with the cost of removing two ash trees if they turn out to be infested.

Great, brought in large crane and removed the tree in five sections,. Trimmed it on the street and put it through the chipper. Very professional, cleaned everything up. The cost was high due to the Crane, but after it was done, I'm glad we went this way.

Superb. Ping's brought a Spider Lift down our narrow drive by remote control. The men put plywood over my lawn to protect it and the tree roots, as well as used plywood as the drop site for falling branches. The "feet" of the spider lift had protection under them as well. Loved watching the skill of the trimmer as he skillfully selected varied branches to preserve the tree's optimum health. This work was done among utility lines, next to my fence, sun porch, and in close proximity to my neighbor's house. This work took 4 hours. Mike Webster excelled. He recommended using a growth hormone to help the tree. After many email discussions in which he shared university articles recommending this treatment, this treatment was chosen. Mike was extremely patient and forthcoming. He was present for most of the work. Excellent communicator and people person. Every one of my concerns met. He will return free of charge to check on the tree. This treatment had to be done in the "Goldilocks Window", i.e., timing when the tree would tolerate trimming, when best to apply the growth regulator, and I wanted the 10% winter discount which lasted until February 28th, 2017. The ground had to be thawed but not saturated. Work also had to be performed in the morning to suit our family needs. Work was performed Feb. 22nd.

In the end, poor communication and arrogance that really really honked me off - I have used Ping’s for quite some time. Despite higher than average prices, their work was always very careful and accurate. This last job though led me to tell them via phone and email that I do not want them to do any work for me in the future beyond the current job. I contacted Ping’s about taking down a large ash tree that had been treated for ash borer for years. It was in a tight spot with fencing, antenna, and house nearby. I received an estimate for $2440. I asked if they just left all the wood cut up in place like they usually do and I would move/stack it, would it be any cheaper because we will use it. I received an email saying “I can knock 200.” So I clarified via email does this mean $2240 to take the tree down, leave wood cut in 1.5-2 foot chunks like in the past, and grind the stump? I added it was about time to treat the remaining ash trees and would they want to do that as well to save a trip. They replied with an estimate identical to the first with no mention of a discount or treating the remaining three ash trees. Then Charese called saying since I had agreed to everything we could get someone out there in the next few weeks. I said “Whoa, what do you think I agreed to because I didn’t agree to anything yet and I don’t know if you guys are going to treat my other ash trees…”… so Charese quotes the price of $2016 without treating the other trees. I repeated it back “so to take down the one ash tree, leave wood cut in manageable under 2 foot chunks which I will take care of moving, and grinding the stump for $2016? “Yes.” So I said that I approved. They came out and took the tree down leaving 25-30 feet of large trunk on the ground in three sections in the back yard without grinding the stump. I was annoyed they took half the wood and assumed they would be back to chainsaw the trunk and grind the stump. Jenny then called the next morning making sure I was satisfied with the completed job. I said you took half the wood, didn’t cut the trunk up, and didn’t grind the stump. She said “What we did was what you approved. It’s on the work order.” We went back and forth. It was as if the hand of God reached down and wrote that work order as the one truth for all the land to see. It didn’t matter what emails said the last week or the last phone call I had with Ping’s. Arrogance. Assume you’re right, customer wrong. Their printed work order was a divine source of truth. I then mentioned their refusal to come out last summer when we had the big wind storm and we had two trees that were down or half destroyed. They told me “We don’t dispose of downed trees. We take down trees.” I gave them a pass on that one because I’m sure they were swamped. We had tree damage every other house in my neighborhood. “That couldn’t have been us.” Yes it was, and that’s two big strikes. I approved the additional job she wrote up to come out and grind the stump and chainsaw the trunk up (only because I don’t think I could get it done under the $155 extra charge quoted) and said that’s the last job Ping’s will be doing for us. In the end, the total amount on the invoice for the whole job was $2171. It has been paid online. I replied via email as well this is the last job I approve Ping’s doing and they are not approved to treat the remaining ash trees in a couple months. How much you want to bet they come out and treat them and send me a bill saying I already approved it? It is not approved and has been communicated via phone, email, and here it is on Angie's list as well.

They are efficient but cost more than we would like to spend on our trees. If I had to use them again I would but I would prefer to find a cheaper one.

Fabulous! They did an absolutely amazing job. Very professional and efficient. Clean work site; arrived when scheduled and worked around exterior painters without a problem. This is the second time I have used Ping's and I highly recommend them. I hope that I quit having dying trees in my yard but as long as I do and I need them removed, I will be calling Ping's.

Ultimately Ping's had to make 3 return trips to trim limbs that were not taken care of. After the first time out, I took pictures of the missed limbs, and drew on the images exactly which branches should have been taken care of. The second time they came out, they only took care of about half of what I sent them. Finally on the 3rd trip they got them all. Between each trip the estimator came out to verify; which only delayed the job even more. Customer service was great at scheduling; the office did all that they could to help take care of the situation. The price was good for the amount of work. However, with having to come out so many times, it honestly wasn't worth the money. I cannot say I would recommend to anyone going forward, and I do not anticipate using Ping's again in the future.

Very knowledgeable about trees. They've held with the price that they originally quoted me. I'd give them A's since they started servicing us.

They come out about three times a year and treat my trees. They charge me each time they come out, but I have a yearly contract that has a set price per visit. They treated 7 evergreen and 6 birch trees for various problems. I'd give them A's on all the categories. They are very responsive and professional. They have an arbohist that was particularly impressive explaining what all the problems were.

We've been using them for probably 10 years. They come out three times a year and per year it's $325.

Ping's Tree Service trims my trees every few years and do the best job every time. Phil, Greg and Mike are ingenious, kind professionals beyond compare and I'm now enjoying my trees that are even more beautiful.

They cleaned up their mess, but they didn't grind out the stumps. We didn't ask them to do that, but they kind of left a mess in the area where they had cut the trees down. But they were here on time, I didn't have any issues with it. These trees were lying across our driveway when we got back from our trip and I couldn't get anybody out here to get them cut down that same day and they showed up that same day and got them down and it was after their day had already ended, it was after five o'clock. His daughter actually went to school with my daughter too. We had $1000 deductible and it was $1088. We had to pay $1000 and our insurance covered the $88. We've had a couple of other tree things done here. They weren't the cheapest, but I really didn't care because I could get them out here. I did barely ask them. I didn't even really ask them a whole lot about their charges, "Just get out here and get these trees off my driveway." One of the trees had fallen on our friend's car because he had his car parked in our driveway and he had borrowed one of our vehicles. So one tree was lying on his car and the other tree then was all the way across this driveway, so it was a mess. They were funny. I made them coffee, it was cold. They were just funny. My husband was here too and they were just a group of funny guys and very appreciative of the hot coffee because it was cold.

Everything about them is good except they charge a lot more than other companies. They are very good. I would use them again for tree trimming.

They come out as promised. They know and understand trees and shrubs. Offered excellent advise for a great price. They actually saved 2 of my trees from dying due to roots strangling the tree at the based.

I expected help from arborist in choosing the right tree and shrub as a replacement in a mature public garden. He wanted me to suggest, I wanted his professional guidance. The tree looks fine; I had told him we had mulch available 25 feet away which they could use. The mound was not mulched. In the process the low voltage line for our night lighting was cut. Three weeks latter this simple repair has not been accomplished although the company has marked the two cut wires that need to be spliced. The replacement bust is much too small to fit in our garden. Our salesperson agreed in a phone call that they were not happy with that choice either and would work something out with us. Again, no suggestions as to what would be good for our site. On the installation the company called to let me know what day they would be there but I am one half hour away. If they would have contacted me when they were on their way I would have been at the site and declined the shrub..
