Ping's made this project essentially painless for me.I watched them take down a couple of trees and was completely impressed with the care and professionalism I saw in action.Trees in very tight spaces were managed very well. There was no damage to our home, our cedar privacy fence, or the neighbor's yard and chain link fence.I gave them a "B" on price simply because they were not the cheapest, and also because it's difficult to grant a "A" when it's a fairly high amount. However, "B" still represents "Good" according to Angie's List, and I do feel it was a good price. Plus, I will not bother calling anyone else in the future. Ping has my business from now on.**There was a fair amount of usable wood the cutting crew was not able to take. It was left by the edge of the road and stacked very neatly. I was told a truck would be by the next day to get the wood, and when I got home the next day - the wood was gone.In this area, there was a fair amount of debris left behind. I noticed it when I cut the grass. It was enough to be damaging to a lawn mower and had to be cleaned up for the grass to be cut... but not a huge deal. Apparently the wood pick up crew is not quite as slick as the cutting crew. This was the ONLY minor flaw I've noticed in the work Ping did for us... and I still intend to have them back to do more.
Description of Work: Removal of seven trees with various problems, trim and or deadwood several other trees, remove all debris and unwanted wood, grind down a few of the stumps located in turf areas.

We contacted Ping for an estimate. Someone came out in a couple of days (on a Friday) and then the estimate was emailed on Monday. We were satisfied with the price. One tree was right next to the house and the other in the easement between 2 fences. They expected to get to our project w/in 3 weeks but it was actually less than 2. They did a great job, esp. considering the size and location of the trees. Neither the fences or any surrounding shurbs or perenniels were damaged. They cut down the trees on one day and then the following day the stumps were ground out and the large pieces of wood removed. Definitely would hire them again!

Everything went very well and smooth. Ping's Tree Service took care of notifying the utilities to have the buried lines marked. Ping's came out to cut down and removed the trees on one day and the next day, they came out and ground the tree stumps being very cautious since one was only inches from the utility box. Everyone from Phil Ping to the young men that did the work were very professional and courteous and answered all of my many questions in a polite manner.
Description of Work: There were two White Pine trees that had been planted too close to the utility box by the original owner of the house some 20 years ago. The trees were over 20 feet tall and the utility company asked that they be removed. Phil Ping came out to evaluate and to provide an estimate for removal of the trees and to grind the stumps.

The quote process was quick. We contacted Ping through Angie's List after receiving an excellent referral from fiends who used them. The next day we received an email explaining someone would be by the house in a day or two to estimate the job and we would receive the written quote then. The next day an envelope was left in our front door containing Phil Ping's business card the company certificate of insurance. A couple days later I emailed the person who originally responded to me to remind them we hadn't seen a quote yet. We already had one other quote and our neighbors wanted the storm damaged tree removed soon. The Ping quote arrived via email as promised and was approximately $45 higher than the competitor and said the work could be done in 2-4 weeks. We were asked to reply to the quote with the amount we were authorizing the work to be done for. We went with Ping because of the personal reference from our friends and they obviously understood the concern we might have regarding damage to either house during removal of the pine tree. I spoke via email with Melissa, Asst Office Manger, to explain we needed a day notice to make sure our neighbor could give them access to their yard also in case it was needed. We got a call the day before they arrive. the 2-4 week lead time was actually about 5 days to our pleasant surprise. When we arrived home from work that afternoon, both trees were gone including all the brush and limbs. The stumps were flagged. Wednesday, came during the day and ground the stumps. Although through the entire process, we never personally met the estimator or people who performed the work, the entire process and work went very smoothly. My only regret is very minor. I forgot to note on my response email that I didn't want the mulch from the pine tree left behind......we plan to give it to our neighbors. Will use Ping again and probably soon.
Description of Work: Removed storm damaged Bradford Pear Tree and 30' + 10 yr old white pine, remove brush and unwanted wood and grind both stumps 5" below surface. The White Pine was stable but was leaning toward our neighbor's house and the limbs were so long they were hanging over our roof.

We really like this company and think they do great work at a fair price. Our grade of "C" for responsiveness is for the following:In a panic, at about 4:50pm on a Friday, we called and left a voice mail for help due to a leaning tree. The ground near the tree root was heaving due to compromised soil after heavy rains the day or days before. On this day, the Friday, we had extremely high winds all day, which by afternoon had taken a toll on this already soil compromised tree. It was seriously leaning and heaving in the winds when we noticed the situation. Anyway, we called Ping's and went to VM. At the same moment, a Ping's service truck drove by our home, stopping at a neighbor's. We ran out and asked the tech to stop by and take a look at our potentially serious situation before he left the neighborhood. He did as asked. Evaluated the tree and stated they would be back in the next day or two. They did as they said, removed the tree, and left firewood as requested. Perfect, except... You know that phone call and the voice mail we left requesting service for an urgent situation? Well, someone called back over a week later and indicated he was returning my call. Hmmm. Over a week later. That was strange, but since our problem had already been taken care of, we thought it comical. So, yes, we would use them again. However, if you have an urgent situation, do not wait for a return call because it might not happen.
Description of Work: Evaluated a seriously leaning tree that was ready to fall on a neighbor's garage. Came in the time frame specified, removed the tree, and a day later, a grinding crew took care of the stump. They removed all the debris and left firewood as requested.

I received three estimates and went with Ping. They were higher on cutting out the deadwood, but l I had the dead wood cut out of three ash trees that were treated last year for the emerald ash bore. I also had a cable (3) put in one of the Ash trees that is splitting. An arborist came out and gave me the quote.I was very impressed with ping from the quote process. about a week later the guys came out and cut out the deadwood. We have a fenced in backyard and was concerned about how they would get back there. They are CLIMBERS! They did use the bucket truck for most of tree in front, but they also climbed to finish up the front. They took precautions with plywood under the truck and only kept truck in yard as long as it was needed. I can't tell they ever drove the truck in the yard. A crew of 4 worked on all three trees at once and took them about 4 hours. They did an excellent job of removing the deadwood and clean up afterwards. They were professional and worked very well together.I received three estimates and went with Ping. They were higher on cutting out the deadwood, but lowest on the cables, so it was about equal to everyone else.
Description of Work: Front large Ash Tree, install 3 extra high strength cablebraces in a triangle pattern in the upper canopy to lessen risk of fork failure $345 Rear Ash Tree nearest the home, remove the deadbranches 1" diameter and larger. Remove brush anddebris.Rear Ash Tree near the South fence line, remove thebreakage and dead branches 1" diameter and larger.Remove brush and debris.Front large Ash Tree, remove the dead branches 1"diameter and larger. I contacted Ping's and got an immediate response, set up time for an estimate for the work. Greg arrived on time, evaluated the work to be done and gave me advice regarding the evergreen I wanted staked. Greg was specific in how the staking would be done. I liked the fact that Greg who is an Arborist, had the knowledge to give me educated advice. Appearance to the landscaping was important to me since a previous staking of the tree by another company had been an eye sore. Ping's would not guarantee that it would survive after staking. The other option would be for them to remove it at no cost. An estimate for the work was emailed to me. I wrote back with questions, received a response to those questions and accepted the bid. They did the work on March 19th (I can not remember if this was the original date set for the work or if there was a delay due to weather). The tree was trimmed just as described, but the staking was not. It was not done as explained by Greg or as per the contract . I contacted Ping's and after several conversations with different managers the work was finally done just as it was described per Greg and the invoice. This did take almost a month to finally get resolved, but I am very happy with the end result. Everyone I spoke with at Ping's were professional and pleasant and always agreed that the original work was not done as described. The fact that they never questioned my concern with the work that was done and agreed it would be done as originally described gave me total confidence that this is a company that takes pride in it's work and cares about their customers. My evergreen is thriving and has an abundance of new growth. I am very happy with the work done and would call Ping's for future work needed. Thank You Ping's Tree Service! May 2013, the large spruce that was staked by Ping's is still standing tall and is as healthy as before it was uprooted. The stakes and lines are still in place, as I was told it would possibly need to remain that way for at least 3 yrs, but that's okay as long as my spruce is still up. Thanks again. I would definitely call Ping's again for tree service.

Call Ping Tree Service on 4/17/2001. The estimate was telephoned to me on the morning of 4/18. Authorization was provided via email by noon on 4/18 and the tree was removed that afternoon. The stump was ground the next day. All debris was removed. I am very pleased with the responsiveness and professional service.

We had several trees that had grown so there branches were beginning to touch our house. We contacted PIng and they came out and gave us an estimate and told us it would be about two weeks before they could get to the trimming. As we were in no hurry we scheduled them to do the work. They came, trimmed the trees, cleaned up all of there trimmings and left. We were very satisfied with the work they performed and the professional manner in which they conducted themselves. We would definitely recommend them for any tree work.

I had kind of a bad experience. I called them back, and told them I didn't like the job they did on one of my trees. It looked like a bad haircut. I even talked to the owner who said it would be taken care of, and it was never taken care of. I spent quite a bit of money with them, so it wasn't like I was a low price customer. One aspect of their service left a bad taste in my mouth. I had called, and they basically refused to fix it.

They were stomping all over my perennial. They were standing on my chairs as they were doing work. They just did not do good work. They were disrespectful as when I asked them to stop they did not. They were very confused about the job I wanted done. I have used them in the past and usually not had a problem but this time it was not good. They were just disrespectful of my property, my plants and my requests. I am not sure where this crew came from but they were not the same as the people I had worked with before.
Description of Work: They came to take down a dead apple tree for me. They also took down a pine tree for me. The pine tree was in the back of my property and I had asked them to stop the work because I had a redbud tree near it and they were throwing pieces of wood on to my redbud and it actually broke three quarters of the limbs on the tree.

It went very well. They came out promptly and gave me an estimate. Soon after, the crew arrived to do the work. Getting the trees thinned and dead branches removed was expensive because the crew couldn't access the trees with a truck, but had to climb each tree. They did a beautiful job - these guys are trained arborists, not tree hackers!
