Estimate better than other tree services, company excellent rating on Angie's list. Estimate was quick, job done before promised and did excellent job. Melissa was easy to work with by e-mail. We added third tree on after estimate and on the day of work, supervisor was able to give price that day. We worried about our outside air conditioner unit because it was so close to the largest tree, but not a problem for this crew. Thanks!

I contacted Ping's after discovering my ash trees were infected with emerald ash borer. While the woodpecker birdwatching was amazing, it was time for the trees to be removed - too far gone to treat. I submitted an estimate request on their website the evening of 4/4/13. Gregory Sears arrived at my home the next afternoon, Friday, April 5th and reviewed the situation and advised that he would have an estimate to me on Monday. True to his word, I received a very reasonable quote via email the following Monday. The scope included complete removal of 9 ash trees and removal of the debris. Greg also confirmed they would cut down a scrub bush that was amongst 3 of the trees and a small (10ft, 4inch diameter) dead tree that was adjacent to 2 others. In addition, the quote included grinding the stumps to 5 inches below grade. The price for removal of the trees and brush came to $565.00. Stump grinding was an additional $165. I had contacted two other companies to provide quotes as well. One company came in at $1500, not including stump grinding. The other was $950, not including stump grinding. By price and reputation, Ping's was the obvious choice. Weather was not cooperative over the month of April with Carmel, IN receiving over 10 inches of rain. Once we dried out, we scheduled for 5/6/13. The crew arrived in three trucks. The foreman was very polite and professional. The fellas worked quickly and removed all 9 main trees, the small dead tree and overgrown scrub bush in an hour and a half. Cleanup was another half hour or so. Short of 10 tree stumps, by and large, you cannot even tell they were here. The foreman was complimentary of how we kept our yard and said they tried to clean up extra nice so there was no disruption. I cannot stress enough how well they did in taking the trees down in some tight areas and their cleanup was superb. Two sets of 3 trees had perennial flowerbeds around them and while I fully expected to have several "casualties", they were very careful and had but one. More than reasonable given what they had to work with. I am extremely happy with the tree removal and look forward to the stumps being ground in the coming days. Hats off to Ping's. You have a lifelong customer.

After a strong storm caused some tree damage to a large mulberry tree in our backyard, we had Ping's arborist come out to give us an estimate on trimming the mulberry as well as a large elm. They recommended trimming 20-30% of the crown of both trees (pretty standard for trees that haven't been trimmed in a while) as well as completely removing the branch that had partially broken. When the crew came out to actually perform the work, the arborist was no where to be found. The elm had quite a few of the lower limbs that were unhealthy looking and those were removed. As far as the mulberry, approximately 70% of the crown was removed. When I returned home from work to see what they had done, I was devastated. I could not believe that a reputable tree service would leave a tree in that condition. My husband called the arborist (I was too upset to even talk to him) and a few days later the arborist came out to inspect the work. While he did not admit fault, we were not charged for the trimming of the mulberry. It is recommended not to remove more than 30% of the crown as mulberries are prone to disease so we were afraid that we may lose the tree altogether. Now, 3 years later, the tree is full of suckers that will need to be selectively removed. It's a shame that a beautiful mature tree was basically destroyed, and will never have the natural shape it once had.

Response from SavATree Indianapolis
4-11-13 Rebuttal to comments from [member name removed] [member information removed]. Our crew completed the work at the [member name removed] residence on August 21,2009 at 3:35 PM. The work order called for giving the home and the garage 6 ft of height clearance to give the roof more aeration and light to reduce risk of sub-decking rotting, I told them tree trimming is expensive but roofer make us look like we are selling Girl Scout cookies in comparison, and we were to be thinning the crown 15 to 20% and removing deadwood from this large mulberry tree. The lifting and the pruning made a significant difference in the trees appearance. The tree also had splitting branches that should have been cabled but the client declined those mechanical bracings that could help prevent structural failures that are sure to happen at some point in time. I mention this now, so as to turn liability away from us if that should happen. [member name removed] is mistaken about the date of service that she posted as 2010, it was 2009. very understandable since its been 4 years (4 months shy) since the pruning was completed. There can be no reasonable expectation that a mulberry tree trimmed 4 years ago should not need work again. The large elm on the east side of it has also had significant IPL pruning, because IPL pruning cycle is every 3 years, which has allowed a lot more light in that has helped cause the advantageous budding that has produced lower branches to come back on. Mrs [member name removed] did not like the pruning we did and in keeping with our policy to try and please all of our customers as much as is possible, we removed $500.00 from her bill. she was pleased with that remedy and paid the remainder of the bill. Now, nearly 4 years later to get this posted is, to put it mildly, very surprising! When I and another ISA certified arborist visited the site today, I must confess that I thought it looked great for a 4 year old trim on a prolific growing mulberry species. Mulberry trees can put on 6 to 8ft of growth annually. Phil Ping

Arborist came out to evaluate ash tree and determined it needed to be removed d/t damage sustained from the Emerald Ash Borer. Arborist was very profession and provided education. The tree was cut down and cleaned up in a matter of a few hours. The next day they came and ground out the stump. They did a great job. When they ground up the stump they protected the house with a pice of plywood.

We had some recent damage to our big tree in our back yard and Ping's quickly came out and provided an estimate. Based on a neighbors recommendation we decided to go with Ping's. They let us know that it would be about 2 weeks because of their current workload at the time this was okay. We had a branch fall from our tree about 1 week after the storm - when I called and let them know what happened they quickly came out and trimmed the trees from the house, removed the dead limbs from the tree and removed the dead tree. They cleaned up after themselves and actually made my yard look better than when they started (I have a tree that drops its leaves late in the year and have not had a chance to rake them up). I would not hesitate to use Ping's again or recommend them to friends and family.

Went well. I knew from the very beginning that the job was small and that Ping's would just fit the work into their schedule. Hey, it's late winter and I no longer have a couple of unsightly stumps on my front lawn - I'm all set for Spring.
Description of Work: I only needed two stumps ground out. The guys who cut the [smallish] trees down weren't capable of grinding out the stumps. Ping's sure was. They did a fine job, I wasn't even home and didn't see the actual work done. But it was done just fine and I am perfectly satisfied with the results. Bonus: I used the mulch in my front flower beds and even had enough for the sides of my house! Yes! Good job Ping's - proving that even a small job deserves quality service.

I contacted Pings tree service late in 2012 for an estimate to remove two trees, two large limbs, debris, wood from trees and grind a stump five inches below grade. I also had another company come out but Pings estimate was the best. A tree leaning over the house should also have been removed but only the limbs were cut off. I called Pings office and let them know what had happened. They contacted the salesman who came out and checked the work. He called back right away and agreed that the tree was supposed to be cut. The tree was removed the same day. The stump was ground down a few days later. The job was well done. I would use them again.

Sent Pings an email and I was responded to within a few hours. The estimate was very reasonable for the work I requested. The workers arrived and immediately began work. Supervisor confirmed with me what I wanted done and proceeded to instruct the workers what needed to be completed. Work was completed in a couple of hours and everything was cleaned up and hauled away. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the crew. They were very sincere about making sure everything was completed as I had asked.

Pings was very responsive and gave me an estimate on the 7 trees that needed to be cut. The estimate was reasonable and the job they did was stellar. They cut down the trees removed the wood and debris and left a clean cut close to the ground. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with the job they did and would highly recommend their service.
Description of Work: I have been having a problem with the branches of several tall, thin trees in my backyard brushing up against the vinyl windows of my porch. I have spent a lot of money having those branches cut only to see them grow back by the end of the season. I decided it was time to cut these trees down. I called Ping's Tree Service, because they seemed to have the best reviews.

We had them remove a medium tree and trim half of a large tree over hanging into our yard. They cut some branches out of two other trees. Also ground two stumps. They were super nice guys but didnt trim the large tree to a true ble sky line. I had to call several times to the office before hearing back from someone. When they did come back to finish trimming the tree we were not home. When we returned home it still wasn't trimmed to a true blue skyline. Called twice and never recieved a phone call back.

9/12: We got a proposal to remove a large locust tree with a double trunk close to the house and grind the stump. 10/9: We agreed to Ping's proposal and provided our Angie's List Coupon. Ping's did not give a target work date. 10/23: Called to get a schedule date. Left Message. Call never returned. 10/25 (Thursday): Called again. According to Pete, the Operations Manager, Friday it will rain, Saturday it may rain, work to be done Monday for sure. 10/29 (Monday): By 2:30, no one had arrived. Called again. Initially I was told the work would be done the next day. I reminded them I was promised today. I was transferred to Pete. He was away from the office, but would check and call back when he was in the office. At 4:05, Pete called back. The crew has 30 minutes more on the current job then they were coming. Now I have a big job so I asked if they would still come. Pete says yes. At 6:15 the crew showed up. Its getting dark. The crew leader is very polite, but it is too late and according to the work order there is supposed to be a crane. They don't have one. They will need to reschedule. 10/31: They cut down the tree finally. The crew put down plywood sheets to drive on to minimize lawn damage. They did a great job cleaning up the mess, they probably even cleaned up tree debris that fell before they came. 11/10: They came back to grind the stump. The crew again put down plywood to protect the lawn. They also put plywood against the house to protect the windows from flying wood pieces. Again, they cleaned up very well. The Angie's List coupon was not applied to the bill, but I gave them another one and the bill was corrected on the spot.
