In the autumn of 2013, I asked another tree service to look at two trees in our yard. That provider's evaluation was that both trees had to be removed. I was not happy with that opinion and worried about the trees all through that terrible winter. In the spring, I asked Ping's Tree Service for a second opinion on the two trees. Their evaluation was that the Ash could be treated for Emerald Borer infestation but the Tulip tree needed to be removed. I agree with their bid but still worried about the felling of a thirty foot tree in my small side yard. The Ash was treated and looks healthier than before. When the felling of the Tulip tree time arrived, we left for a couple of hours. When we returned, the tree was gone and a thorough cleanup was done. A contractor returned in a couple of days to grind the stump into useful mulch. All of my winter worrying was for nothing. We were so pleased at the outcome of this service and would highly recommend Ping's Tree Service.

The arborist came in consultation, and provided immediate feedback about the needs of the several areas of work. Another arborist arrived with his team and a cherry picker for trimming the oak. The equipment was managed in a way that caused no harm to my lawn. The clean-up was prompt and complete. In the fall planting season, at my request earlier than the usual starting time, they removed the old trees, dug out the stumps and then dug (by hand) and planted the new trees. i was kept up to the moment with the progress and solving of any snags as we proceeded. Later in the fall, the soil amendment recommended for the oak was applied by drilling over 300 holes at the dripline and dropping the microelements and pH adjustments needed. Most recently, I notified the arborist of one of the trees in the row of evergreens dying and he immediately ordered a replacement at no charge to be planted in the fall planting season.

Obviously it did not go well for me, my neighbor may have a different perspective.

We had a very tall hackberry tree quite near our house, infested with carpenter ants. Ping?s Tree Service came out for an estimate and determined that, because of surroundings and safety issues, the tree could not be CUT at the base (25 inches diameter). The tree removal required 1) an aerial work platform (fascinating to see how ropes and geometry were used to lower cut branches without destroying any ground plants or injuring ground workers); removal of logs, and 3) grinding of stump. Because we were concerned about storms and the tree possibly falling on our house, Ping?s cut the tree down on a Saturday morning and the other tasks were done within a week. We appreciated the professionalism, the typed and e-mailed estimate, the clean up, AND a discount with an Angie?s List coupon!

I contacted Ping's about the removal of a dead tree and a brush pile. After about a week Ping's provided an estimate, and I agreed to the price. After that I received no follow up, so I contacted Ping's and asked when the work would be completed and was told they were very busy after storms went through the area. Was told by the office manager it would be "a few weeks". I sent the following e-mail to the office manager informing him the work could not wait that long and that I would at least have to find someone else who could remove the brush sooner, as sitting there for a month or longer would no doubt damage my lawn... "If we're talking 'a few weeks' out at the soonest, I will have to find another option for the brush removal as it can't sit there that long." and received this response assuring me the work would be done ASAP... "I have noted that you need this work done ASAP. For the price quoted we need to remove the tree & the brush at the same time. We should be able to get it done sooner for you. Let me know if you need any further assistance. See you soon!" Two weeks following that e-mail I contacted the office by phone and was again told (by their work scheduler) that they were very busy, but that she thought she remembered the sales person telling her about my job. She then said she would... "try to get you on the schedule for the following week... if I don't forget. I probably won't forget." Two weeks beyond that I had still heard nothing. Apparently she forgot. Beyond the "few weeks out", I cancelled the order, took a day off work and did the job myself. I understand this was a small residential job, but I would much rather had been told up front that they weren't interested or were too busy to take on the work. If the work you need done is not a large job, I do not recommend Ping's.

They did a good job. They answered all the questions.

The day I called for a estimate was the day of the storm it was with in a hour of the phone call Mike from Pings tree service was here to look at the damage and give us a quote. He listed to what we wanted to do and gave us many options on the quote that we could choose from. I had the quote by email within 30 mins after he finished looking over all the work. Had to wait about a week till Pings could come out and do the work. All the guys were very professional and gave good customer service. Evelyn was also outstanding with getting things scheduled and following up when the job was done to see if everything was done to my standards. Awesome service and follow up customer service!

Everything went great. Mike Webster was very prompt in getting back to me with an estimate. He gave me three different options to consider with this tree. Their quote was much lower than the other quotes I got and their availability was a lot earlier. Once I decided what I wanted to do, they put me on the schedule, weather permitting. I had several requests and questions with my approval specialist, Laura, leading up to the event and she was always very helpful. In spite of all the rain we have had this summer, they managed to stay on schedule. Ours was a tricky situation as they needed to bring in the equipment from the apartment complex parking lot behind my lot and pull out the tree in sections with a crane. They were clear on what they needed there in terms of lot accessibility so that I could arrange it with the complex ahead of time. The job was done very expertly and carefully. Crew supervisor Jesse spent a few minutes with me at the beginning to explain how they planned to approach things. Clean up was immaculate. Everyone with whom I interacted throughout the process was very helpful and positive. Over all, I can't say enough good things about these guys!

"Service Area" lists Madison County. I am in Pendleton which is just inside Madison County, close to Indianapolis. While the customer service person was very polite and nice, it was frustrating that they would not come give me an estimate for a job that will no doubt be thousands of dollars of business. Said they "don't come out that far." They offered to give me a consultation for $125. No thanks!

This is the second time we have used Ping. They took down 2 trees in our front yard this winter and as requested left the tree in fire place size logs (approx. 1-1/2 to 2 feet). During the last storm part of a tree fell down and the remainder looked like it was ready to fall. We called Ping, they came out,gave us an estimate and we immediately approved and they were out a day later. Again we asked for them to cut the tree into fire place size. This time they were 3' to 4' long; too big and too heavy for people our age to safely handle. But we got them moved off the lawn after much hard work. We know they were very busy due to storms. If we need a tree service again, we will be very specific as to size of logs.

Did not have Ping's do the work.

They were fantastic from start to finish. They were out within five minutes of us calling and they had the work done the next day. They did an excellent job and I would recommend them to anyone.

I called Ping's to request a quote for stump removal. I was told that they don't provide quotes for stump removal; their prices start at $99 and go up from there. This wasn't helpful. I have several stumps I need to have removed which are all between 4" and 14" in size. I didn't want to start work without knowing approximately where the cost would end up. I can understand if they don't want to waste time sending a person out to quote something as simple as a tree stump removal. But a rate schedule would have been sufficient - something along the lines of $99 for the fist stump and $XX for each stump after that. The clerk on the phone was polite - albeit giving a canned answer without further discussion. I didn't use them for this job.

It went fine. Our bushes are free of any scale have any scale .

Very easy from start to finish - sent message on angie's list and got everything set up without having to make any phone calls.

He was really good and very helpful. The quality of his work overall was fantastic. He gave us a really detailed recommendation on the trees in our lawn and what it would cost to cut down the one that needed to be cut down because it was rotting from the inside and was getting ready to fall on the house. They were very surgical. The pruning of the trees was done amazingly and the trees seem much healthier. Another thing I liked about them is that whenever I had any questions they usually answered me, they were very responsive.

They always do a great job. I have used them several times in the last 2 years. I like the fact that you can request a quote via email and set up the job too.

Their work was excellent. They were kind enough that day to add in a tree removal, which I really appreciated. What I was really impressed about was how thoroughly they cleaned up after the job.

Basically fine. The trees are well shaped. I find that workmen, unless they are actual landscapers, do not seem to see flowers, bushes, mulch, etc. So I have flowerbeds and other landscaping that took a beating from tree limbs being dragged over them to take out to the chopper. The truck left deep holes in the yard because the ground is my septic field and it is soft. The last time they did not use a truck, but actually climbed the trees to trim them. But, since all the trees are very close to the house, and the house was not damaged, I did not complain about the other things.

Mr. Ping came out for estimate shortly after phone call request. Office staff very nice. Trees were trimmed beautifully, debris removed, all for a reasonable price. Already gotten estimate for this year's tree trimming.Would recommend to anyone needing this service.

excellent, very polite, very professional

This is the second season Pings has sprayed my tree. It was infected but now apprears to be thriving. Last year, in addition to treating the blue spruce, Pings pruned several large Maple trees and removed a blue spruce and a norfolk pine. I appreciate the knowledge of their arborists. They have taken the time to answer all my questions thoroughly. The estimates I have received have been extremely thorough. I have 8 large and aging trees very close to my house. Because tree work is expensive, I need to know all my options so I can develop a plan over time to accomplish all the necessary work for the safety of my home and my neighbors property. I have found Pings employees to be professional, helpful and friendly. I am currently considering a proposal from Pings for additional work.

Scheduling was great. They were very professional.

They are very careful with how they trimmed the trees. They made sure that they did not fall on anything. However a part fell on the patio and broke a tile so they knock $10 off the price. I would use them again and they cleaned up very well.

Estimator was prompt, courteous and professional. He informed the tree was the cities' responsibility to take down and provided the number to the Mayor's Action line. The tree overhangs the busy street on which we live. He stated he would also call and prompt them due to the poor health of the tree. Sent me an estimate per time frame promised. When the city gets around to cutting tree down I will have Ping's do the stump removal. Instant credibility. They did exactly what I asked, gave advice and a quote and made me aware of the responsibility of the city. Will definitely use at my other house for tree services.
