Rod's Quality Concrete Inc

We needed to widen our driveway to fit within the constraints of nearby landscaping as well as the slope of the existing driveway. Rod arrived promptly as arranged and provided an estimate for the work as well as some suggestions. The work was performed as promised, and the crew left the site neat and clean. The end result actually exceeded our expectations, and we would not hesitate to use Rod's Quality Concrete again.

We had to wait a few weeks due to all the rainy weather. When the crew showed up, they worked incredibly fast. They removed the stairs, walkway, sidepad and most of the driveway on the first day. They also completed the stairs, walkway and sidepad that first day. They next day, they returned early to finish removing the old drive and had the new one poured before noon. Rod's employees were very professional and took a lot of pride in their work. The steps were all bull-nosed and the driveway was better that we imagined. Rod and his team exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend them.

They did a great job in putting in the patio. They had a fair price and were very professional. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again in the future.

After a couple of estimates, we decided to hire Rod's Quality Concrete based on their reputation and a favorable quote. His crew was able to start a few days before planned and had the old driveway ripped out the first day. It took them about three and a half days total from start to completion. They all worked very hard and they paid a great deal of attention to detail. We were very happy with the results and would highly recommend them.

Rod from Rod's Quality Concrete Inc Company was very thorough. He gave me a great price. His team that came in was very efficient. They worked really well together. My experience with Rod was great. He came out the same day I called and was working just a few days later. He worked out all the drainage issues and the driveway and sidewalk are just like we talked about. Were I, and the neighbors, are really impressed is with the front steps. We have a large front porch that is old concrete. Most of it is in OK shape and with the block laid on the concrete it would have been a much bigger project than I wanted to do to completely tear out the entire front porch. He was able to tear out the steps and one pad and then pour that with a special mix that really matches the old concrete quite well. The finishing touch that set the whole project off was the bull nose he put on the front steps. I didn't even know you could do that but it looks great. I wish I would have done this project sooner, it's so great. With the wider driveway parking is so much easier and the boys now have a nice new driveway to play basketball on. I've referred him to several people since and they have been happy has well.

Estimate was made next day after I called. Rod was very punctual and the only problem we had was trying to schedule around the rains. Throuhgout all this he kept in contact with me and even went out of his way to make the new work look nice. making the porch a little larger than the old one,and widening the walk so two people could walk side by side. doing this required relocating the small shrubs along the one side of the walk. All at no extra charge. His workers were all very courteous and skilled in the their work which resulted in a job well done. Would I use them again? very definitely. A K

Great experience throughout this project. We loved working with Rod. He was very helpful in giving us advice. He is very honest and recommended the best product for the results we desired (rather than the most expensive product). He was involved in all phases of the project to ensure quality (planning the date to meet our pool opening schedule, working around inclement weather, product selection, power washing, staining and sealing). The results of the power washing itself were amazing. The cement looked better than when it was new. Then for the staining Rod even had the product's engineer from the product company participate in the selection and application of the product. The work was very thorough and detailed. The results are wonderful and the color match is exact. Rod is a very honest, caring, professional

They came when they said they would and did an excellent job. They also cleaned up after themselves. There were no problems at all. Everything was excellent.

We will do more business with Rod in the future. We are waiting on the weather right now.

This report is LONG overdue as we had a great experience working with Rod's Quality Concrete! Rod's was one of 3 bids we got for the job. I have to say, he had the advantage from the start since we could look at his work directly across the street and grill our neighbors about their experience (very positive). That, coupled with the fact that we see his signs all over our neighborhood and that he came across as the most experienced contractor we talked to meant that he was our first choice dependant on bid. It was a relief when his bid came in within spitting distance of the other two. Rod was also the most collaborative during the bid process which gave me the impression that he really wanted to make sure we would be happy with the work. The actual work went very smoothly. Rod assured me he would be on site to supervise all concrete pouring and sure enough, he was the one running the 'mud buggy' up and down the drive and directing his crew. I should mention that his crew was always polite, friendly, and respectful. They didn't leave a mess behind each day and I don't think I ever saw them stop working except to take a very short lunch. They finished the job on schedule and on cost. There was a small issue of a stair railing being set improperly. To his credit, Rod assured us he would make it right even if it meant having to redo the entire set of stairs at his cost. Fortunately he was able to fix it without resorting to that but I have no doubt he would have followed through if necessary. Its been almost six months since the job was completed and we're still very happy with the results. If we could do it all over again we would definitely stay with Rod's Quality Concrete. p.s. - I know I can't put other peoples comments in my review but let me say the following. Rod did three jobs for friends based on our recommendation (two patios and a driveway). I'm always concerned with somebody having a bad experience based on my recommendation. I'll just say I couldn't have been more pleased by their reaction to Rod's work.

Called Rod's Quality concrete on Friday morning and Rod came out to give me an estimate that afternoon and was pouring concrete on Monday. Him and his workers had the job completed by Monday afternoon. Rod told me exactly what he was going to do and he did it. I would hire this company again!

This job went very smoothly. His crew was very professional. They did a great job and they listened to all my questions and requests. I would use them again.

The project went very well. Rod and his crew were professional in every respect. Rod returned telephone calls promptly and answered all questions fully and clearly. The work performed appears to be excellent. We are very pleased with our new driveway, which is a vast improvement over our former cracked and peeling asphalt driveway. We heartily recommend Rod and his company for concrete work, and we would not hesitate to engage Rod and his company again.

Rod owner of Rod's Quality Concrete provided an estimate based on our original request but estimate was vague in specifics to quality of concrete, how substructure for concrete would be performed, if any. We initially contracted for a simple drive, then upgraded to colored concrete and aggregate borders and walk. The colored concrete was pre tinted concrete poured in the driveway within the aggregate borders. Several days after the drive was poured we found hand prints in the concrete, also we found areas where something had been dragged across several areas in the drive and a expansion joint not finished. We brought this to Rod's attention, he basically was unresponsive to the problems and stated there was nothing he could do even though as he even agreed the work was not of the standards he would to do. Several weeks after the drive had been poured a crack developed in the aggregate walk, a portion of the finished drive at an expansion joint peeling and crumbling. We met with Rod over these issues, again he basically stated it was concrete and there was nothing he could do, to appease the situation he offered to re-seal the concrete in the fall. In October we met with Rod in reference to the re-sealing of the concrete. My wife and I both expressed our concerns for the quality of the work to be perform. We discussed specifics that the aggregate concrete of the sidewalk, steps and driveway border were to be sealed with a clear or honey brown tinted sealer and the drive (which is tinted colored concrete) was to be sealed with and I quote " a clear super clear 30 sealer." We were very specific to the point that we requested the border to the patio which Rod had poured not be touched due to the blue stone inset to the aggregate border. I again met with Rod a second time the day before the work was to be performed and re-reviewed the work to be done. I was assured the driveway would look the same as before the re-sealing. My wife and I both were concerned enough to specifically ask Rod to oversee the work. He personally assured he would be at the project. The day the of the resealing the areas agreed upon. My wife and I left for vacation. When we returned a week later it was immediately obvious the work performed by Rod was not as agreed. Rod's Quality Concrete had sealed the drive with a colored sealer, changing the original color of the concrete which was an upgraded at addition cost. The sealer application was inconsistent and made the concrete look dirty and and certainly not the same as when we left. I called Rod and told him of my concerns. He came out after several telephone calls and we inspected the work together and I stated "the work was unacceptable and Rod would have to correct the problem. He told me "that will never happen." Since then the concrete of the drive has developed a milky haze, the sealer pulls dirt from the tires of the automobiles continues to look even worse and additional cracks

Called two days in a row and never showed up. I understand you may be busy but don't leave me hanging, I am the customer and I am not your secretary.

Excellent! The weather delayed things a little (totally out of their control) but everything went so well. They removed the garage floor, prepped it, and poured it all in one day! It look amazing. The driveway looks even better. Rod had great suggestions on the design that we hadn't considered, and the new drainage is wonderful. He and his crew were not only very nice, but very hard working and diligent (as well as very skilled with what they were doing.) Rod always kept us very well updated on things as they progressed, and he and his crew were always timely when the weather cooperated. Simply could not be happier with how things went, and we will absolutely use his services again whenever we need anything concerning concrete for our house. HIGHLY RECOMMEND him for anything like this, whether it is a driveway, sidewalk, patio... you will get an excellent product at a very competitive price! Thanks again, Rod!

They had done work for us before and did a good job. We had another issue and had him come out and give us a recommendation. We haven't had anything done. The experience was fine and he's a nice guy.

Rod's bid was not the cheapest, but I was impressed by the suggestions he had to improve the look and usability of the walkway. He pointed out that the walkway was too narrow and suggested widening it. He was knowledgeable and willing to make improvements and I chose him for the job. The first two days did not go as I expected and although I had some concerns at first, Rod was very thorough in explaining how things were progressing and how weather was causing delays. He ended up pouring on a Saturday when the weather cleared. I was impressed. He accepted my request to be present on the day of the pour and ensured the concrete mix contained the air entrainment I requested. His crew showed up periodically throughout the following days to acid wash and seal coat. They were friendly and I enjoyed chatting with them when they were on the job. Although not directly a function of the work of Rod's crew, the one improvement I would suggest is to better manage the driver of the concrete truck. While the workers were busy pouring the concrete, no one noticed that the truck snagged and snapped a few branches on the tree in my front yard and that he had driven off of the plywood and directly onto my lawn. I already had plans to have someone come and raise the canopy of that tree, though, and I am aware that the lower limbs were indeed pretty low. It's simply a suggestion for the future. Rod did throw in some extras, like removing three stumps between the walkway and the brick wall ... saving me the time and money I was planning on putting in that job. So, all in all, it was a good experience and I will DEFINITELY use him again. (I like the end result so much I may have my entire drive taken up and poured with this concrete mix!)

Rod Vore came to our house in a timely fashion to discuss the project and put together a bid. Of all the contractors we contacted, we thought he understood our needs the best and really thought through the best approach to putting in a new driveway (including necessary drainage). Of all the Angie's List A-rated concrete firms we contacted , his price was far and away the best. Ultimately, due to cost reasons associated with how long we anticipate being in our current residence, we decided to go with asphalt for our new driveway. Had we selected a concrete contractor for the project, Rod would have been our first choice by far. Rod's a straight-shooter who we believe delivers a quality product at at competitive price. He was the only contractor who voluntarily provided us references and photos of his past work, which looked fabulous. We would definitely contact him for a future concrete driveway project.

They did not do the project because they never even responded to my request for an estimate. A simple follow-up call explaining that they were too busy would have sufficed (and prevented this report).

This was the second time I hired Rod. Our front landing, steps, porch and front walk were crumbling after last winter. Rod gave an estimate and started work within a week. All work was done in exposed aggregate. Both sets of steps were finished with very nice old-time "bullnose" treads. The concrete was then sealed, and he will seal again next year for no additional charge. He also rerouted two downspouts to travel under the new concrete and connected them to new pop-up drains in the front yard. Rod and his employees are polite, hardworking, and added several unexpected nice touches. Several neighbors were so impressed with the work that they have asked him to work on their houses. I will hire Rod to redo our driveway next year.

Rod was very punctual in scheduling the quote and performing the job. He has a good eye for what can be done in concrete and made several suggestions as to how to shape the step, transition to the walk, how to transition the walk to the driveway. All of these suggestions worked out delitefully. He also suggested running the down spout drains under the walkway, that should cure a historic problem of water held between the existing walk and house foundation. Conduits for electrical wires were also put under the walk and driveway so that any future owners can put in a silent dog fence or other yard accessories. His crew was efficient and performed the work with minimal damage to the yard. Only about 1 foot of yard on each side of the concrete was effected by the forming. The gagage door and brick at the end of the drive were protected during the concrete pour. Some diamond shapes were put into the scoring of the driveway to add some interest to the expanse of concrete, which we and the neighbors really like. After Rod met my handicapped child, he made a personal contribution to my son's sheltered workshop. Rod is truely a good guy.

Rod and his guys arrived right on time. The floor was completed with expansion joints and sealed. The slab looks wonderful!
