Rod's Quality Concrete Inc

Possibly the strangest business interaction ever, and really a testament to the apparent lack of competition there is in Indianapolis that these guys can still get work (especially judging by the other reviews which show a pattern of behavior). Initially, this company seemed very helpful and straightforward - Kevin (the owner's brother), got me an efficient and competitive quote, was very informative about the work, and gave me a timeline (a month) to begin work. We agreed, and I informed him that I live overseas, and would have to wire payment when work began. He said fine. Cut to two months later (work was delayed understandably due to rain) - on the day work is supposed to start, Kevin texts me to ask that we meet so I can give him a check or cash. He tells me he can't take a wire transfer (his exact words were that it's "scary because the world nowadays"), which was obviously very frustrating to me since I had clearly informed him I was overseas. I agreed to send him a check (and delay my job further), and asked him to send me the company info, address, exact amount, etc. Oddly enough, this is when both Kevin and his brother Rod went silent - when I literally agreed to their terms and just wanted the company info to write the check to. Requested it a few times, no response. They just went dark. And of all the reasons to do so - because I wanted to pay them? I saw another review here that somebody literally had to call from another number and pretend to be a new customer to get a response from Kevin, so this behavior seems to be in line with that. Just a strange, spineless way to go about business, and really just a way to waste people's time since I could have gone with another company months ago.

Kevin didn’t show the first 2-3 times for a consult, they finally showed & did the work.. now a few months later, we’ve been trying to reach them but they never return calls.. finally reached Rod & he was the rudest guy on the phone!! I just wanted to ask him to take a look at our concrete because there’s a crack... we wanted to know if they could repair it, or tell us how to do it ourselves, to prevent the crack from getting worse!! They are the most unprofessional, unreliable people!! And just plain rude!! I’d never use them again & would NEVER recommend them to anyone!!

Rod replaced our driveway in June 2013; seven years later half of it is crumbling and will need to be replaced this year. Initially, things went well and Rod had some interesting design ideas for doing a concrete drive with exposed ag sides. During tear out they cut our cable line, although it was clearly marked; they sealed the driveway, but used two different color sealers and refused to fix it (I had to hire another company to come in and fix it), and there was a symmetry issue with the pour that required them to cut-off part of the side of the driveway, which ruined the rounded sides.

Never happened after quote. Terrible communication and very disappointed, stay away.

Initially everything sounded like it was going to go smoothly, however that was short lived as the 1st Day was a rush job to do everything in one day start to finish. Ran out of concrete around 8pm and had to return the following day and bust up partial area in order to complete 2nd pour. Soon after flaking and pitting of the concrete started to occur. Kevin was contacted and made aware of this issue and agreed that it wasn’t normal and that he stood behind their work. He proceeded to make broken promises one after another until he had finally blocked my number and no longer took my calls. There’s no honesty, integrity or quality about this company, stay clear to save yourself the aggravation, frustration and disappointment of a poor decision. I only wish that I would have read the reviews prior to making the bad decision to trust and use Rods Concrete.

Initially just fine. No real issues and Kevin offered many times how they stand by their work and if anything comes up that needs attention that I shouldn't worry as he would take care of it. The following spring after job, noticed cracks in driveway. Called Kevin and he came out and said they would take care of sealing (never done) and cracks. He asked if it could wait until they had another job in the area and I said yes. Many calls/texts later with promises made/broken. Finally when Kevin stopped responding to me at all, I called the owner's (Rod) number and left vmail with brief description of issue and requested return call. Never called me back. Even if they tried and didn't leave message, there would be a "missed call" on my phone and there was none, Very, very disappointed.

Significant concrete pitting & dissolving in many places within first year. Rods came out to review and dismissed the problems - saying the issues are due to our using salt. Salt has never been applied to this driveway. They also said we never coated it, but they didn't tell us this when they installed the driveway. Pictures here were taken 11 months after installation.

They have done three jobs for me, including two jobs involving new concrete paths at two properties. The first two jobs were great, and I thought I was on to a winner. Sadly, it was not to be. With the third job, they were timely in providing a quote, but then needed nudging to provide a date to do the job (several weeks later). They then did the job, which involved installing new areas of exposed aggregate to match existing areas. The new areas ended up looking almost nothing like the existing areas, one of the new areas is not flat (water pools when it rains), and the clean-up was awful. I had to power wash three times before all the mess they left was gone (and even now a nearby exterior wall on my house still needs washing). I told them, and they said they would stop by to look, but they never did. I have now decided that the only answer is to cover the entire patio - new parts and pre-existing parts - with brick tiles in the spring. I was very disappointed, and will not use them again.

Job went very well. They actually had a cancellation, so came about a week early to do the job. Nice professional job, and cleaned everything up nicely.

Overall, it went well. Rod's team worked hard and long to complete the task. We are all pleased with the result, except for one area. The work was done in mid-late April after we had had a lot rain. The team created a staging area in the woods to the side of the path where we had recently installed some soil to keep water away from the gathering circle. Rod's equipment, (motorized concrete carriers) were used to transport the concrete to the work area. This compacted the soil and left big track marks and left the soil irregular and messy appearing. Kevin promised that he would either bring some soil or mulch so we could even out the damage and seed the area. Despite repeated texts and calls to him and promises to "deliver next week", the soil or mulch was never delivered. I'm sad to report this lack of follow up, because I do like the aggregate path. I texted Kevin this morning to give him one more opportunity to make this right, however, I did not receive a response.

Had a great experience from getting the estimate to having the work completed.

Good Experience With Rod's Quality Concrete We just had a very good experience extending our concrete patio. I was impressed with several things: 1. The owner always returned my communications promptly. 2. They did everything they had promised to do and more. 3. Their estimate was very competitive. 4. There was minimum damage/impact on my soft yard. 5. The worksite was cleaned afterwards. 6. They kept concrete from splashing outside of the work area. 7. The finished product is what I had hoped for. I highly recommend Rod's Quality Concrete and will use them for future projects. 317-908-1229

They came out to assess their prior work which cracked in multiple places. Said they would give repair estimate. Never followed up. After one week I had to call and ask for estimate again. Estimate to repair was never provided - not a positive customer experience - especially since it was their original work that they are not standing behind . Disappointing experience.

The guys from Rod's were great. Responsive and easy to work with. We had the job quoted by another company and Rod's came in much lower and were excellent communicators. The final project was very good. Our only wish was that they would've cleared the old concrete and filled in the soil around the new sidewalks. Neither were major issues, but we would have appreciated a comprehensive finish. The sidewalks themselves look amazing and the price was excellent! Overall, we were very pleased.

initially all was great. Kevin repeatedly told me they stand by their work. Spring of 2018 I spoke w/Kevin and let him know there were cracks in the driveway and we discovered that it was never sealed. He visited and asked if I could wait to repair until they were in the area on another job and I said that was fine. Now, after may calls, voicemails, texts with promises made/broken, they have now stopped returning my calls. Even left voice mail with owner, Rod. I am very sorely disappointed. This job was over $10,000 and they did not honor their promise to do repairs or finish the job with sealing the concrete.

Rod's Concrete did a fantastic job! Our new exposed aggragate walkways are beautiful, and their workers worked so hard to get it all done in a day! They worked a 12 hour labor intensive day, and they were careful not to tear everything up in the processs. They sent a second crew the next day to stain/seal the aggregate and touch up/level out the disturbed dirt along the edges of the walkways. We are extremely pleased with the results!

Outstanding work! Clean, fast, and very professional! Would work with this company again, and recommend if you are looking for a dependable company to work with Kevin Vore!

It did not go. I received a quote in May and was told the work would be scheduled in three weeks. I heard nothing and called in early July and was told the work would be completed the following week. I never heard from them again and did not try to contact them as I have no faith they will do the work. When they came to give me the quote they were punctual and very professional, but I never heard from them again.

Kevin came to provide a quote on a concrete pad for a new 8x12 shed. He called in advance and I met him at the property. He looked at the location and saw the existing shed (in the process of being taken down) and included the rest of the demolition (with a Bobcat) and putting debris into a dumpster and hauling it away in the quote. He talked a bit about how the process would go and said they would be able to get to the work in the next few weeks. The quote was provided at the end of the visit. We have not currently decided on what we are going to do for this project, but I would recommend talking to them.

Very professional, knowledgeable, engaging,very service oriented, prompt, sincere and they completed the job as agreed up.

I submitted a request for quote to replace sidewalk concrete. I got a response from Rod stating he would contact me, then never received further correspondence.

Kevins crew showed up when promised and removed the old sidewalk .They started forming the new walk but ran into the tree roots that ruined my old walk. They had another job in the area so they went to that job and came back to my house the next day after I hired John Ferguson stump removal company to grind out the roots. The group leader asked me several questions to make sure I approved of the layout. The crew was knowledgeable and efficient. I'm pleased with the new walk. My neighbors complimented the finished job.

Excellent, the guys did an excellent job in pouring the concrete and doing the subsequent work required to aesthetically complete the job, and all the necessary cleanup tasks. We would certainly use this company again and recommend this company to others. Excellent Job!
