Rod came to bid this small job that a few other concrete contractors did not want to mess with. He showed up as promised on the 28th and did a great job. His crew went out of their way to make sure the job was perfect. After the concrete had been laid, foreman Christain asked me to lower the garage doors to make sure the matched the newly laid cement. There was a gap of 1/4 inch increasing to 3/4 inch on one of the two garage doors. Christain tore out ~7 feet of concrete and redid it to make it perfect. They stayed until 8:30 pm! Rod Vohr is a true professional you can count on for quality work at a fair price.

Great service and excellent price. His crew was running late but showed up at 2PM on the day they were to begin work. They removed our entire driveway and walkway up to the house in no time. They were able to set up the framing and pour the concrete the same day. They stayed until 10PM that night to make sure the job was finished in one day and did a great job cleaning up afterward. They moved the walkway out a little and widened it and raised it up where it has sunk down. Overall, the job looks fantastic. They did a wonderful job and were very courteous while they were there.

The price was fair, the work was done timely and the quality of the work was outstanding.Rob priced the job and did exactly what he said he would do.The sod had to be removed, the base was trucked in and had to be leveled. The concrete had to be trucked from the street so as to not damage my existing driveway.The crew and the crew leader were outstanding. They were very professional and did an outstanding job. They even had to battle the threat of rain, but completed the work in a day, just as it began to rain. They covered the finished concrete and then a couple of days later, one of the crew came back and removed the forms and cut the control joints. I would highly recommend them for any concrete work.

Rod was great - weather was an issue but he kept in touch. He and his crew actually came out on a Wednesday evening at six pm and had it all done by 9:45 pm. The work looks great and we are really happy. He is a nice guy and his crew was very friendly as well.

Rod was great! He came out to measure/discuss the driveway quote; emailed quote within a day or so. We are still gathering other quotes before making a final decision.

Rod's price was substantially lower than his competitors. The fact that his price was low and his estimate was on the back of a business card I was a little nervous. He came out 3 times to review with me and was always very responsive. So we decided to go with him. On 4/6/13 he told me he would start on 5/2/13 and that is exactly when he started. Hard to do considering all the rain we got. His guys were very respectful and made sure they did a good job. The quality of work was excellent! Cant' say enough about the guys that did the work. Rod was out a couple of times to make sure that everything was going the way we wanted. Very impressive.

My husband called early in the week to schedule an estimate. Rod came out on Thursday night. He looked at our steps and explained what he thought needed to be done. He offered to come out the next day to perform the work because he was going to be in our neighborhood. He also gave a discount for paying in cash. The next morning a worker arrived at 8am to begin working. He was joined by another worker a few hours later. The work was finished and our driveway was cleaned up by 3pm. The steps look great and have met all of our expectations.

Rod promptly came out to give an estimate and wrote it on the back of a business card. The estimate was lower than others so I called him back to have the work done. Long story short, after all the back and forth on the phone, saying he was sick, wasted time and lack of returned calls, he said he couldn't make any money doing my walkway in front of my house. A big hassle for nothing and a waste of time. If it's too small of a job, say so to begin with, don't jerk people around. Got another to do for similar price and VERY pleased with it and their professionalism. Rod looks professional at the beginning but isn't. his work may have been just as bad.

The job was completed in a very smooth manner and his people gave some good suggestions that were incorporated in the final design.

Rod never came to do the work after giving us an estimate. It was very frustrating making all the calls for naught!! DP

Well that is not much more to say

This was a quality job and an outstanding experience. When the work was done we had very mild weather for March and the crew made sure to get it done. We now have almost one winter and have no surface scaling or cracking. I am sure we will never encounter problems with the work.

Rod estimated the job and scheduled the work, then he poured the concrete, which was difficult because the job was at the rear of our house and not easily approached by truck. The job was professionally done however, the repairs were much better than we could have expected. Everything was tied in to the current patio and house foundation to make it a seamless job. We were very pleased and would certainly use them again.

Had a concrete aggregate patio poured. Turned out very nice. The steps down out of house to the ground level are curved and have a nice bull nose edge. Patio is curved as well. Many compliments from neighbors on attractiveness. Also had an existing concrete driveway torn up and replaced at the same time. We had a tight schedule which this company worked hard to maintain even in extremely hot weather. Several neighbors have since used this same company because they were impressed by the work done at our house.

I scheduled an estimate with Rod and when he didn't show at our scheduled time, I called him to find out if he was still on his way. It seemed that he forgot, but he said he'd be on his way soon, and he did show up a little while later. He gave us the estimate -- which was a good price -- so my wife and I decided to go ahead with the work. It was completed quickly and we were satisfied overall. During the dig-out of our old gravel driveway, one of Rod's workers had damaged some aluminum trimwork around our garage. When I brought this to Rod's attention during his final inspection/payment pickup, he eventually gave us a discount to account for the cost of repairing the damage. The workers left a bit of a mess, but overall my wife and I were happy with the results.

This was a positive process from start to finish. It was more than we expected and we were delighted at the finished project.

I was impressed with Rod's promptness . I was also thankful that he reminded me to call 811 and have the utilities marked before we started. the work was done efficiently. the driveway looks great. I am very pleased and would recommend him to others

I had a contract with another contractor to tear out and replace our sunken patio. After 2+ months, all he had done was tear out the old patio, removing only part of the concrete. After trying to reach him for 3 weeks, he finally called and told me that he had hurt his back (not on our job) and couldn't finish the contract. I had already paid him over half the contract amount and am currently pursuing legal action to get some of the money returned. I called Rod the next day and he was very responsive, immediately answering my call. He was extremely busy, running several crews at least 6 days a week. He stopped by and looked at the mess we had in the back yard, then called my husband with an estimate. My husband had also contacted a friend's brother to give us a price. The prices were the same, but after dealing with an individual previously, we knew we should go with Rod, based on his responsiveness and his Angie's List rating. As I mentioned before, Rod was very busy and it was about 3 weeks before he could schedule our job. In the meantime, one of our neighbors call the Marion County Department of Health to complain about the Bagster in the street, full of concrete, and the mess in the back yard. I arranged to have the Bagster picked up, paying the $99 fee myself that was supposed to be included in my first contract. Rod gave us a date for the work, but had to delay it 2 days. He did fail to call and tell us, but I was so happy when his crew started two days later! They worked all day, came back early the next day, and finished on the second day! Overall we are very pleased with the work - it looks great and we are using it when the weather permits. Rod's crew left some tools and wood forms behind and have not been back to collect those. We cleaned those up and are going to put them to use. In a side note, the Department of Health has visited again and all is well with the patio. Unfortunately we have to move our wood pile from two trees we took down because it is not 18 inches off the ground or on a slab. Apparently this is the law but I'm sure most people don't know that, and I would bet that many tree companies don't either. Maybe someone at Angie's List could send this information to the tree trimming and removal companies.

Rod answered my call on the first attempt to reach him. He mentioned he would drop by our home and provide a quote the next morning. He never responded after the initial call, so we never received a quote. Other reviews for Rod were mixed, either great or "F", and most of those reviews were due to him not communicating with them. I guess we're the latter. I will not contact Rod again.

Rod came over and looked at my concrete project and promised to email me his estimates. But afterwards I never heard anything back from him. I left message and he did not return. What a waste of time. For busy people, I won't recommend him.

A true craftsman! The is the 4th time Rod has done concrete work for us—2 driveways and 2 walks. Most recently, he tore out our asphalt driveway and replaced it with exposed aggregate. Whenever it used to rain, water would run into our garage. Rod installed a french drain and grate in front of the garage. As a result, the garage now remains dry even in the heaviest downpours. Rod has experienced, reliable workers who show up as scheduled. He guarantees his quality, and will make things right without hesitation. Several of our neighbors have also hired him. I know there are other excellent concrete contractors out there, but I wouldn't think of using anyone else.

Within few hours, or never? If you are graced with a return phone call from brand new contractor, you then have rely on (2) the command of their voice, can you understand their speech? (4) Do they sound like a chain smoker, or not? Do they sound to be in good health, or not? (5) And lastly, do you believe what they are telling you over the phone, or not? I called Mr Vore on October 23rd, 2012, left voice-mail. A couple of hours later he returned call and left me a message. About five minutes later I returned his call and again left voice-mail. About 4 hours later he returned my second voice-mail and we talked for less than 5 minutes. I told him we have a driveway that we needed an estimate on in Greenfield. He told me he would look at the on next day. Today is one week later and no further contact has been made with his estimate information as he agreed to do and why I am filing this event with Angie's List. Also of note; for what it's worth, I had found three different addresses for this company.

Rod will give you an estimate scribbled on the back of his business card. He came to give us the estimate when he promised to and he was very helpful and solidying the ideas we had for what we wanted. he also made some welcome suggestions for the product we wanted and the rough design. A crew of four arrived when promised and managed to complete the whole job in one day. They were all very friendly and respectful and it was clear that they all took great pride in their work. Their cleanup was very good. The following day the cuts were made into the cement to allow it to expand and contract. The next sunny day brought out one final gentleman who sealed the entire walkway and patio and brought it to life with a light honey brown sealant. We paid Rod with a check based on the initial scribbled estimate. Don't look for a receipt. We LOVE the finished product and would highly recommend Rod Vore and his crew to anyone.

Moved into home less than a month before - discovered garage floor, probably original to house [1949] seriously defective: large, deep cracks, and floor sloping towards back of garage - floor itself also below grade of driveway, so debris/water flowing toward instead of away from garage. Rod (and others) recommended removal and replacement. Choose Rod in part because of Angie's List rating and general good feeling about him. Price good, too! Work started and ended as projected. Old floor completely removed - and concrete recycled. New floor well planned and has nice finish. Debris/water not getting into garage - and as a result house staying cleaner.
