They told me that they were unable to help because the chemical that kills them has been banned. I talked in length to the people at Gold Seal and he told me exactly what I needed to do which included tearing apart the closet and bedroom to get rid of them. He was so honest, he could have come out and charged me but instead he was very upfront about the problem and that he couldn't help. Which was so kind of them. I can't believe the amount of time he took to talk to me, I really appreciate it.

Called Gold Seal on Friday, 10/8, and spoke with a gentleman on the phone. I am told his name was probably Phil Bledsoe. He explained available services clearly and made an appropriate recommendation based on the identified need. His recommendation was reasonable and was not the most expensive treatment option the company offered - I appreciated that. We scheduled a treatment, and he made sure a technician was available today, Saturday, 10/9 - very prompt. Phil was very courteous and patient - quite willing to explain in detail what would be done, since I had no knowledge of this type of service. Michael Miller arrived well within the designated timeframe today, 10/9 - very punctual. He too was very professional, listening to our concerns and responding helpfully. The pest was not easily identified nor apparently frequently expected in homes, but he suggested that this particular beast was probably a grain bug of some sort. He encouraged us to look for the grain-related source of the infestation, offering his help in the search. Together we located the grass seed that brought in the bugs, and he assisted in the removal of that source. Then Mike made positive, actionable suggestions as to how we should handle in the future, affirmed that we should call Gold Seal again should the need arise, and generally left us with a VERY good opinion of the company. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend Gold Seal to other users.

Their technician came over and was very thorough and knowledgeable. He recommened what we could do. We are very pleased that they were willing to come out and check out the problem. We highly recommend them to any other members and will you use in the future if the need arises.

We had an ant problem in our kitchen. We tried to treat it ourselves for two weeks, but the ants kept coming back. Gold Seal sent out Dennis Duckworth and his trainee, George. Dennis fully explained everything they were going to do and what we should do going forward. I had a few concerns about the treatment in relation to our small child and dog, but Dennis addressed those and answered my questions thoroughly. He was very personable and polite. It has been almost three months and we haven't seen any ants since the day of the treatment.

I found them on Angie's List and I liked their rating and super service award. I read their reports and found one that pertained to yellow jackets that had gotten under a roof and in the report Dennis had come out to resolve the problem. The report sounded great so I decided to call them and low and behold Dennis showed up at my door and I will ask for him if I ever need any help in the future. I called Monday to have someone come out. They came out the next day. I had called and got a quote of 130-150 and when Dennis came out he only charged 125 because I got the nest while it was still small and gave me an additional 10% Angie's List discount. He said it was a good thing I called when I did because the yellow jackets were still small and it was easier to take care of. He also said that if I had waited until later in the year the nest would have been larger and the service would have cost more money. I tried to plug up all of their holes and he told me to NEVER to plug up the holes because they will find a way out, even if that means eating through the walls and into the house. Always call an exterminator. He put a powder in all of the entrance holes that will kill them upon contact. He also sprayed a chemical in their main entrance hole that killed the nest. He told me that I may have yellow jackets up to two weeks who were not currently in the nest that would be trying to get back in. I have already seen a great decrease in the number of yellow jackets. He was very good about telling me what to expect. He said they were going to be mean or mad for awhile since we destroyed the nest so to avoid using the door near the nest for a short time. I appreciated his concern for myself and my grand kids so no one was injured after he left. He also said to call him back if I need to. If I need any exterminating needs in the future he also gave me his contact information so that I could reach him if need be in the future. He provided information for future plans if need be and they also provide a free termite inspection. I would highly recommend them.

After experiencing for 2 weeks ants and flying ants in the house (front door and foyer area especially), I called Gold Seal to have them come out and take a look. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was great. Very direct and to the point. He said he could come out, but it would be a waste of money. While he was surprised that we still had ants/flying ants since the season for them ended about a week ago, he said I could expect to see them go away any day now. He asked several questions about any mulch we had around our house and to make sure it was no more than a couple of inches deep. He suggested going to the store and getting some granules for ants and sprinkle that around the house per the instructions. Sure enough, a week later we haven't seen a single ant! I have some of the granules, but haven't put those down yet. The gentleman I spoke to did offer to come out if we continued to see ants. I will definitely go to Gold Seal again should we ever require these types of services. It's nice to see a company try to provide their customers with the best advice, even if it means making no money in the short term!

Very well. I had used Gold Seal 2 yrs ago (about the same time of year). They were very quick to schedule (2 days after my call) and worker arrived early in stated time slot). He explained what treatment he would use and assured me it was safe with children in the home. He used both a spray and a gel-type treatment. He explained what to expect (i.e. might still see a few ants over a few days) and answered all of my questions. My ant problems appears to be resolved!

Josh arrived next morning on time. set trap.caught huge racoon 3 days later. came same day and removed varment and CLEANED UP THE MESS.

My call was returned by a service technician in a couple of hours. He described the bug to me and advised me to call back in the fall if they were still around. He said he could come out and spray now, but the bugs would just recede under the siding and the problem would still be there. I appreciated his honesty and not trying to perform an unnecessary service.

Dennis came to my house early Sat morning (My appt was originally Friday afternoon but they rescheduled it). Our issue was bees/wasps that make their nests underground. We have a small landscape patch in between our house and brick patio. Dennis said that he could spray but it was possible the bees could come back within a few weeks. He suggested I spend $10 at the hardware store to buy a product and spray it myself. We put product down the first day and after a few days it appeared the bees were gone. By Wed though the bees were back in full swing and they were branching out into our brick patio...making nests/tunnels underneath. For the next two weeks we worked on killing those bees. We went out at 5am every morning and sprayed something into the new holes the bees had made. (DAWN liquid detergent poured into the holes, aaddnd followed by water seemed to work well. The bees are gone :-) Bottom line... Dennis provided an honest evaluation about the bee situation. And he was right...the bees are unpredicatable. He probably saved me a bunch of money by doing it myself.

See above. Besides the counter experience I still think they did a very good job and I have no more ants. I would have them come out again.

The instructions for what we need to do were detailed and complete. The next few weeks and months will determine if further professional help is needed from Gold Seal, but they will get our business.

I had called on a monday and they said they could come out the next day.. They told me the cost would be over $170, but brought it down to $159 with my Angie's discount. I was very satisfied. The next day the representative came out and sprayed the entire house inside along the floor and both bathrooms upstairs. He also sprayed my crawl space and put down a dry chemical barrier around the perimeter of the house. I was told that it would be warrantied for 60 days. The representative said if had trouble as late as 70 days to call and they would come out for no charge. I was very pleased with the rep and the service.

I have been dealing with them for a couple of years now. I am extremely happy with the serives they provide.

Mike, the service man, was prompt, called 10 minutes before he arrived, was neat and friendly and performed the task of spraying our garage for carpenter bees. He explained to us what he did and said if we had any more bees to please call and let them know. Mike represented Gold Seal Termite & Pest Control Company in a very positive way.

All in all, this was an interesting experience. I had contacted Gold Seal, the company I use for termite prevention, a few weeks ago, asking about dead animal removal. They quoted me a price that was not terribly expensive, $150 for service call, as well as additional costs for animal removal, but they seemed skeptical that the animal would be found. So I purchased a liquid from them to absorb some of the odor ($5.00) and hoped for the best. The smell did not go away and I subsequently submitted an Angie's List report with a "B" grade. Not long after, I received a telephone call from Dave at Gold Seal saying he had read my report and wanted to send someone out to check out the smell and the possibility of retrieving the animal. He said the price quoted had been for live animal removal (although that really didn't make that much difference to me) and that they wanted to make things right. Josh came out two days later and, voila, Mr. Stinky is gone.....I'm ecstatic. Everything went so perfectly that I told Josh I was kind of embarrassed about the first report. He said Gold Seal prides itself on excellent service and that they always want to make sure the customer is satisfied. Truly made my week!

An animal got into by basement/crawl space and died, leaving an awful smell and a hidden carcass. I called Gold Seal because they applied my termite preventative. A representative called me right back and said that, at price of $150, they could send someone to my house, and that finding and removing the critter would be an additional cost. I definitely would have paid that and more but they said it was unlikely they would find anything if the animal had died in the dirt crawl space or one of many nooks and crannies. (I guess I was hoping they could follow the trail of huge buzzing flies or something.) Anyway, I stopped by the Gold Seal office to buy a small bottle of "Ratsorb," a liquid that is supposed to soak up some of the smell. Two weeks later, the Ratsorb is used up and my house still smells very bad.

Very satisfactory response. To my knowledge, we haven't caught anything yet though.

I spoke with Phil, and he told me they couldn't do anything right now, because they are in between the walls. This fall, he said to call him and they would spray the outside of the house, and prevent them from getting in in the future. I asked him also about spraying around the house for spiders, etc., since we live in a woods. He suggested an off-the-shelf product that we could put down now that would prevent anything that crawls. Then he said to call them this fall, and they could do more. He also said if we had any other pests, to be sure to call them. I greatly appreciated his honesty, particularly about the lady bugs. Some companies would just take your money and do something that would be ineffective. I'll call Phil this fall...

I have noticed quite a few wasps flying around my house the past days as it's gotten warmer. I called and spoke with Phil, asking to have someone come out and give an estimate. Phil said before I spend any money with them that I could try some things first. He told me exactly what I need to try and the steps I need to go through first. I am going to hopefully try them after it rains this weekend. I appreciated the fact that he offered up the advice and gave me the option to try a remedy myself first rather than taking my money first. That has earned a future call from me to set up a regular pest maintenance program on my house.

"Mark" from Gold Seal Termite and Pest Control showed up during the scheduled timeframe and was very polite, professional and competent. He first removed his shoes because he said they had a little dirt on them. He then accompanied me to our outside but enclosed patio to inspect our wooden knee walls that are behind siding. Last summer I had seen some winged insects and didn't know what a termite looked like. Since the only problem Mark saw was moisture on the wood and no evidence of insects, he was confident that those winged insects were ants. He explained the physical differences between winged ants (body with segments) and termites (no segments and wings 4x size of body). Mark made good suggestions such as removing my inside patio siding so that the wood can dry out and so I can determine whether or not, from the next rain, if there is indeed a leak of some sort. Mark also recommended throwing away the insulation as it had become wet and could lead to mold and/or mildew. Mark also confirmed the outside, lower wood frame of my patio door was the victim of moisture and not insects. Mark also inspected my basement and crawlspace and garage. And there was no charge for any of Mark's time or service. Now that's how good companies do business and keep their customers. One suggestion: the gentleman that made the appt said that he would have Mark call me ahead of time to let me know he was on his way; he didn't call ahead of time.
