They canceled the appointment twice on me. So I sent them an email telling them to cancel the service altogether. Since they can not make appointments it seems. Then I get a magic invoice in the mail today for services rendered. Funny since both my wife and I are at home everyday and never seen the guy. Funny since I had a painter working the week they "claimed" to have done the service and he never seen them. Oh and my outside cameras will show a truck never showed up to the house let alone anyone walking on to the property. Want to donate your money to a company for not doing their job? Then this is the pest control service for you.

I used Gold Seal for years and have signed up for regular service at two addresses. They were bought to Presto-X and now their service is terrible. First they eliminated Saturday service dates, which means I have to take off work to be there whenever they show up. This week I had an appointment at one address on Monday and at the second address on Friday. No one showed up on Monday. I called to inquire and no one returned my call. On Thursday, I called again to reschedule the treatment at the first address and confirm the appointment on Friday at the second address. They made no apology for the no show on Monday, but confirmed the appointment on Friday. Guess what happened? They didn’t show again. No show and no call. So this week I wasted hours sitting around on two different days just to have no one show. Never again.

They have stations around the house that have wood to attract termites. The wood contains a chemical that keeps the termites away. I've only had to call them one time since they started. They were very responsive but that was quite a few years ago.

Estimate was received in a timely manner. The initial application did not resolve the issue, and I called to let them know. They sent someone out for a second application, and at that time confirmed that it should have been a 2-step process (which was not done the first time). The second person did a much more thorough job than the first person, and at this time the issue appears to be under control.

They agreed to provide a free estimate and never called or showed up. I called immediately after the four hour time window had elapsed. I got a call back from what I assume was the national office saying they were looking into it. Then I got a call from the local Commercial services manager who told me that the appointment had accidentally been set up as a commercial appointment. He said I would hear back from the local residential services manager. Never heard another word from them. What a waste of time. I will say that the national customer service person (Megan I think) was very professional and tried her best to help but that can't make up for what happened locally.

well...I REALLY don't like chemicals like that in my house, but we were able to have it done the same day we were leaving town for a week. Took care of the fleas! Too bad the winters have been mild...the fleas would be better taken care of with cold!

Ultimately went well. I rated a B for price, because the Big Deal nearly doubled from the last time I bought it. When I called to schedule, they informed me the Big Deal was not guaranteed. I thought, no worries, I've had it done twice with good results. This time, not so much. The ant activity was increased after treatment. Called back in 2-3 weeks, giving it time to work, and although I was warned it was not guaranteed, they agreed to come back. They were here a few days ago, treating with the original method, with seemingly good results. In the future, I will contract for 2 treatments per year, instead of getting the Big Deal. That way I'll get guaranteed results. I've used them for years and plan to continue to use them.

Two indoor-only cats, both on vet-prescribed and purchased topical flea medication, and we had a flea problem. Fleas were getting in through our patio door from our yard and overwhelming our usual controls of daily grooming, monthly topical meds, and regular vacuuming/laundry. We even had new floors installed throughout our home in Fall of 2015. Very frustrating! Gold Seal devised a plan and worked with us to synchronize flea extermination over a period of time. Fleas require more than one visit because of their life cycle. Payment is up front and the follow-ups are covered under their guarantee. They let us know ahead of time that the cats would need to be out of the house for four hours post-treatment, which we appreciated so we could make plans for their care. The techs sent were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

On 4/15/16, I purchased the deal on Angie's List for the exterior treatment, interior inspection, and limited interior spot treatment. I waited for over a week with no contact from the company to set up an appointment for the service, so I called them and set up a time for the first available Friday. The technician came out and said that he only had granules to put around the base of the house but, due to the amount of brick and concrete, a spray would be more effective. He wasn't able to perform the service at that time due to not having enough spray available with him. Several days go by and I don't hear back from the company about rescheduling the appointment, so I call them again and set up the next appointment. They call and have to cancel the appointment due to the weather since, while a little rain is good for dissolving the granules, it will wash the spray away. This was the beginning of the several weeks of seemingly continuous rain that we received in the Indy area and another appointment reschedule via email as a result. The company was proactive about this reschedule, but it was again ultimately canceled due to weather. We decide that instead of constantly scheduling and canceling, it would be easier for the company to just call when the weather improves enough for them to do the treatment. The weather began improving mid-May, but I don't hear from them the week of May 15th. This doesn't concern me because I'm sure they were very busy with other reschedules due to the bad weather. However, the week of the 22nd begins and I still don't hear anything from them after over a week and a half of gorgeous weather, so I call. They get a manager's approval to fit me in that week, so the next day I get a call during a rainstorm that a technician is 5 minutes from my house. He asks if he can perform the treatment and I mention that it's raining and we probably need to reschedule, but he says a little rain is good for the granules. I point out the brick and concrete around my house and mention that the previous tech told me the granules wouldn't be effective. Finally, I decided to be done with all of this and have him put granules down where possible and spray the doors and windows above the brick and concrete. - Did the company provide the services that I purchased? They did the exterior treatment, but nobody ever came inside the house. - Do I feel that the quality of their service was good? After two weeks, I still have a noticeable problem with ants getting into the house; however, it is better and I am finding dead ants so I expect the problem to continue improving as the insecticide makes it back to the colony. I also feel that the quality was fair for the discounted price that I paid. I would be much more unhappy if I had paid full price. - Were they friendly? Yes, all interactions were pleasant and friendly. The woman with whom I talked when calling seemed to always be overwhelmed, perhaps more office staff are needed to provide better service when scheduling appointments. My biggest issue is that they are not proactive in reaching out to customers to schedule times that meet their needs (e.g. constraints due to weather) and this resulted in services being rendered 6 weeks after they were purchased. When appointments were scheduled, the technicians always arrived on time. - Would I hire them again? Probably not, I had a much better experience with a different pest control company I found on Angie's List.

Description of Work: Paid for a deal up front, before any service was made. A confirmation email from Angie's List claimed they would reach out soon for scheduling. This didn't happen for over two weeks. So I called them, and they blamed Angies List for never letting them know about the deal. So I called Angies List, who said indeed Gold Seal was told two weeks prior, so I got my refund.

This was a big deal purchase and they worked out okay. There was one thing they had missed. I don't know if it was normal. We many not have had an issue. We had a compost pile close to the house. They found out just recently that was the source of the ants. I am pretty sure that is where it came from. I don't know they would have caught that but that would be the only thing I would think of. I wish they had mentioned that. Other than that everything went well. I really had no problems overall. They were good.

Dave was our service technician. He was extremely courteous and took time to explain the process and what we could expect. Dave said if we do not see a change after 7 days (give it 7 days to work) to please call their office. He seemed confident in their product and certain we will be pleased with the results. Dave was very knowledgeable and my husband and I both were pleased with the time he took to explain how the treatment works etc. It was very interesting and helped us to understand the struggle we have with teeny tiny ants about every two years. Living on a slab home is one issue we didn't realize would make a difference in the struggle with ants. This is the first home out of 6 homes we have owned through the years that was built on a slab also first home we have struggled with the tiny tiny ants :). Our daughter has used Gold Seal Termite and Pest Control and was very satisfied. (she had the same issue with ants and lives on a slab home). She uses them about every year or year and a half and said it seems to help control the bugs in general.
