I had to be out of the house for 4 hours...I will say I was a little nervous because I have a crawler (1 year old) at my house, but I was assured that the product used was harmless to him. Within 5 days, my problem was gone! Now 1 month later, still no problems. I referred them to a friend and they had equal success. Very nice, pleasant people!

+ -1 morePer my request, David called my home about 1/2 hour before arriving. He was on time and acted in a very professional manner. I received the Angie's List discount. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service provided.
Description of Work: David did a whole-house treatment for insects including the outside. He went into the crawl spaces, which were a bit challenging given the narrow access. He did a liquid and granular treatment around the outside of the house and liquid spray on the inside.

+ -1 moreI called Gold Seal to get an estimate for treatment for ants coming on the house due to recent heavy rains. I spoke with Phil. I explained what steps we had already taken to try and get rid of the ants. He said that what we were doing was correct and recommended a couple of other steps that we could take as well. He also stressed that patience over the first few days was important. I spoke with him on a Tuesday, and he said that we needed to give it until the weekend. If we still had ants on Sunday or Monday, we needed to call back. We took the other steps Phil suggested, and the ants were gone by Friday. I appreciated the 15-20 minutes he spent on the phone with me, and he saved us the $150 he would have charged. I will definitely use Gold Seal if we have a further bug problem.

They found some of them, but were not able to find all of them. We are really not sure where the wasps are coming from. There were very good about it. They came back multiple times, but it's just an old house.

+ -1 moreNo complaints. The technician came out and sprayed 1 1/2 gallons of Termidor from 3' from the house to the house all the way around in order to treat for ants. Afterwards, he commented on how it would've been better if we'd not had a thick bed of euonymus right up to the house, but that he'd sprayed generously in that area. If I'd known that in advance, I'd have trimmed it back to ensure better success with the application. The technician was efficient and polite. I'm looking forward to a kitchen without ants!

Though they gave me a window of 10-2 the technician arrived at 11:55 leaving me time to finish other errands that day (which I really appreciated). My husband was out of town so I was very nervous about finding a company and setting up the appointment. Gold Seal was great starting from the initial call to report the infestation to the solution of the problem. THANKS!

They did not discount my safety concerns but rather acknowledged them and explained why their approach would be both effective and careful. They were both very nice and thoughtful. I will definitely call them again.
Description of Work: We have a few ants in our kitchen...but more than we have ever had. So I wanted a restrained approach that would be safe around food preparation areas. Dennis and Tony listened carefully to my description and appreciated my safety concerns. They used an ant bait that stays where it is placed with a tiny injector, so it is not spread all over. Dennis also went into the crawl space.

Description of Work: There is nothing more daunting than finding termite damage to your home of 33 years! I called Gold Seal on December 28, 2010 and they sent their service person the next day. I could not have been more impressed by both the care and concern of their service Rep nor his honesty and integrity. He was very clear on what needed to be done and that I would have to wait until the Spring as termites are dormant during the winter/freezing months. Many other companies would have demanded an immediate contract and payment but Gold Seal handled it much differently. They left an estimate sheet with details of all work they would do and honored that same price when they came today, 3 1/2 months later, to begin treatment . I can not say enough about the professionalism and attention to detail that their service Rep gave today while installing all the bait traps around the perimeter of my home. If you should EVER find yourself in the position of having your home being damaged by termites or even if you just suspect such, call Gold Seal immediately! They are extremely kind, understanding, helpful, concerned and well versed in how to help you save your home. The best part.......fair price and no pressure! I would HIGHLY recommend this company. GS

+ -1 moreThe tech came out and did a great job! I woke up on a morning and had ants everywhere in my kitchen. Not only did he spray for the ants in my kitchen, but he sprayed the whole inside of my house and the whole outside. I have had ants about this time for the past 3 years in my kitchen. I've had other exterminators come and just spray for the ants. This tech not only did that and sprayed the whole inside and outside of the house, but he looked to see where the ants were coming from and what was causing them to come in that area. He saw that I had some carpenter bees so he did a quick spray for free before he left. I was very happy with them and will use them again!
Description of Work: The tech sprayed for ants in the kitchen and also sprayed the rest of the inside of my house and outside.

After speaking to the owner, a different technician came out (and returned almost every day) and caught the squirrel about a week later. The initial technician is no longer with the company. Gold Seal takes pride in it's Angie's List feedback and demonstrated a high level of class and character in taking care of a negative situation. I will use them again based on that!

He told me that I should not treat them this time of year because they would more than likely just go back in the cracks of my house and come back in the fall. Instead, he gave me an alternative to treat them myself and told me to give him a call back in the Fall. Wow, GREAT SERVICE! It is very nice to have a company not take advantage of you. + -1 moreWe had a sudden infestation of ants brought into our house as a result of heavy rain. We found Gold Seal on Angies List. They were very polite and knowledgeable on the phone and were able to schedule treatment within 3 days. Brian, our exterminator, arrived on time. He introduced himself, described the plan of attack, and thoroughly treated the whole house, inside and out. The only thing we were asked to do was empty the cabinets below the kitchen and bathroom sinks prior to their arrival. Brian explained that we might see ants for a day or two following treatment. We were very pleased with the service and would definitely use Gold Seal again.

+ -1 moreThey came back after that and they didn?t charge us anything extra. So, they came back because we still had mice and treated it again at no cost. They were pretty thorough and coming back wasn?t an issue for them. They seemed pretty knowledgeable. They are very good, but the only downside was that we sometimes had to make a couple of phone calls to get them come out. They always do come back out and they have actually been out two to three times. I was happy with the price. I had no problems with them. I would use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: We used the services of Gold Seal Termite & Pest Control Co for extermination of mice in November. We had them come out and investigate. We thought that we had raccoons and it was making a lot of noise, but it turned out that it was mice. So, they came out and put bait down to kill the mice.

When I spoke with Phil, he gave me some tips and advice on how to find the source and get rid of them ourselves. He even said he didn't want to take our money for something we could do ourselves, and if we had any more questions, to feel free to call back. :)

Description of Work: I saw a bug that looked like a cockroach (about 1/2 inch long, oval, black) so I called this exterminator. They do have Saturday service hours, so the technician came on time on Sat morning. He pulled out my refrigerator and did not see any evidence of cockroaches. He told me that it would not be useful for me to spray and the bug I saw was probably a beetle. I really appreciated his honesty. A whole house cockroach spray would have cost $180.

He said February is not the time to treat for ladybugs, but to call him back in the fall when we started seeing them outside. I really appreciated his honesty, since I didn't know the difference... Then this summer when my elderly parents had a problem with ants, I called Phil to see if they could help them out. They were out there within 2 days, gave them the Angies List discount, and my parents were very pleased with their service and professionalism. So when ladybugs started to appear last week, I called Phil. They came out Monday and sprayed the exterior. At this point, no problems. They are very professional, honest. I would call again! Thanks!
