I had an appointment from 10AM-1PM today and no one ever called to let me know they were coming. As someone that was in the customer service industry for 10 years (including the HVAC industry) I have say that not even receiving a phone call that the technician is running behind is terrible customer service. The service department should be keeping track of the technicians and if they are falling behind, they should be informing the customer, which is BASIC customer service skills. I have better things to do with my time then to hunt down a technician to come to my home and fix a repair. I will just have my independent contractor come and look at it for us. I will say that someone called me soon after I left a message on their website (1:30PM) but the only thing they stated was "sorry, we did miss the appointment. we will cancel it per your request." Clearly, if they have someone jumping to answer online requests so quickly, they should be spending a little bit more time researching current clients that have appointments. It does not seem they are very worried about keeping customers around. Good Luck Mr.Plumber. Get it together!

Mr. Plumber is a company built on customer service and trust. We failed you with this appointment and we are terribly sorry. Once I researched what had happened, I found this was a scheduling error which caused your appointment to not show up on our dispatch board. A grave error, human error, that should not have happened. We have addressed this and should not happen again. I am sickened we failed you and hope that one day we can earn your trust. If you decide to allow us another chance please contact me directly. Excavating and he said that he could do the job for $2,000. The problem is going near the street to tie into the sewer. The problem is not the sewer and street cuts are very expensive. He said Mr. Metzler was pricing high to get a street cut and sell financing. Finally, Mr. Metzler and Williams ComfortAir are a big company that graduated to financing to grow their work. Be careful when doing business with them. I was in an emergency situation before Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2010. I needed to get the work done before bad weather.
Description of Work: Today on 4/30/15, the utility locator hired by Mr. Metzler, SAMCO, showed up to locate utilities for the cut in the yard. I went out and explained the situation to him and showed him the letter of cancellation. He could not believe that Mr. Metzler quoted me almost $12,000. He called a friend of his at Exceptional E

Mr. Plumber is a company built on trust and customer service. We apologize we were unable to cancel our locating services. According to our records, we quoted a pipe-burst of the sewer to the street due to a main water and gas line running next to the sewer line. This would have been the best option since all connections were still intact and didn't involve a trench 12 feet deep continuing to the street. It is an unfortunate circumstance a locating company would have called another excavating company for advice. This is unprofessional and we have contacted the manager of the company. We hope in the future we have the opportunity to earn your trust. Tina Festa - Customer Assurance Manager

We've had a bunch of different plumbing problems, we kept getting water in the basement so we've had multiple people looking to help. I just know that in general, we have not been anywhere as near pleased with the plumbers that have been in our house as we've been with the AC guys. That's why we don't tend to go back to the same plumber. It took over a month for them to get the parts and get them replaced. The guy who came out was actually very nice and professional and very apologetic for the work taking too long. As a result, the hot water in the bathroom wasn't working for over a month. The price was fine on that one. It was hard for us to get a hold of them and find out if the parts had come in. Punctuality for their appointments were fine.
Description of Work: The basement had flooded and they had to get the drains cleared out. They also replaced the faucets and it took forever because of the miscommunication with their service department in ordering the replacement part for our faucets.

Mr. Plumber is a company based on trust and customer service. According to our records, in May 2014, a drain technician was dispatched to this home for a back-up. The drain technician stated the line was holding water and may have a belly in it. The camera technician was then dispatched. The camera technician did find the belly as well as roots. It was Friday afternoon when the leak was discovered. (The timing was terrible--we had 5;30 plans to take out our grandchildren for the eve.) The Carmel Water Dept. sent someone to look and he told us that since the leak was on the side of the meter facing our home it was our responsibility. The leak appeared to be caused by a problem with an angle valve connected to the meter. Switching the valve should correct the problem. We called the Mr. Plumber office at approx. 2:30 and explained the situation. They did find someone to come check the site at about 4:00. He was not equipped to make the repair(he didn't have the part, and he said there would be lots of digging involved. I asked him how much digging and it turned out to be a small ring of dirt around the pit. I offered to have my husband do the digging, but the inference was that it was more than he c.ould handle ) He did offer to have a crew come in the morning to handle it for a few dollars shy of $1,200. If I didn't want to accept the service, it would cost us $79.00 for the "Free call". (Read the fine print--the "free" call is only if you purchase their services and $99 warranty ). At this point, we had no water, and it was even later on a Friday afternoon. I mentioned several times that I thought that the cost was very high for what should have been a simple fix. The plumber said that they needed a decision. I called my husband and he reluctantly agreed to have the service done (we envisioned a weekend or longer with no water). The crew of two came the next morning at about 9:30. They dug out about one foot around the pit to a depth of about six inches to enable them to more easily remove the valve connector ring (the site of the leak). The ring was difficult to remove and that took some time. They did not replace a meter yoke as included in the job summary. The full time spent from start to finish was about two and a half hours. We noted the starting and ending time. Granted, it was Saturday, but including the Sat. repair time and the Fri. sales time, the total time spent time spent "on the job" was no more than three and a half to a generous four hours. That would make the labor costs about $300+ an hour minus the small repair part. I think that we were basically robbed. I feel that they took advantage of a desperate situation. The company was notified about this matter and has not responded. .

Mr. Plumber is a company built on trust and customer service. Mr. Plumber sent an emergency crew on a Saturday to get water to our deserving client. The cost of this service was given up-front and agreed upon before the repair process began. The repair manager did contact them, explaining the services that needed to be done on a Saturday. After reviewing the bill, it was found we did not give the discount they should have received for having our plumbing maintenance agreement. Once we found the error, the manager called, apologized and a refund was issued for the difference. We apologize this happened and we are happy we could do the right thing. Larry Metzler of Metzler/Mr. Plumber replaced a toilet, replaced a laundry tub faucet, and installed a new shower head. After arriving at my home, we went to each of the areas needing work. He then sat down with me and discussed all of my repair/replacement options and prices. We discussed the pros and cons of each, and I made my decisions and choices. He left for a brief time, picked up what extras he needed to do the work, returned promptly, and completed the work. I am very familiar with his company- since they have installed a new sump pump, kitchen sink, and repaired one toilet and replaced another in past years. When I had my primary sump pump stop working during heavy rains, another company who had installed that pump told me they could not help me for at least 48 hours. Mr. Plumber was at my home within 2 hours, and did the job perfectly. This is one reason why I called them for help on this job. I was quite pleased with the work Larry did for me, and will call on them again in the future.

I called Mr. Plumber this morning to repair a dripping bathroom faucet. I figured since I would be paying for a service call, I would also like to have my kitchen faucet fixed. The kitchen faucet was perfectly functional. The only problem was that it would get stuck a bit when swiveling from side to side. I called Mr. Plumber in the morning and they told me they would have someone at my house sometime today. They were not able to give me a time but said they'd call 30-45 minutes in advance. Impressively, within 45 minutes, I got a call that a plumber would be heading my way shortly. By the time he arrived, the dripping faucet seemed to have fixed itself (of course). I then showed him the kitchen faucet. He quoted me $229 to disassemble the faucet, clean/replace the inside parts and put it back together. I thought that seemed a bit high but since I have had bad experiences with DIY plumbing in the past, I agreed. Here's where the trouble started. The faucet was unexpectedly difficult to take apart. He was not able to take out the the set screw. He ended up stripping it in his attempts and then had to use a drill to remove (and destroy) the faucet handle. He said it didn't matter because he'd replace it with another handle from his truck. Then he was unable to remove the bonnet nut. He took a torch the the bonnet nut to heat it up and loosen it. This resulted in a melted broken mess. He was still unable to remove the bonnet nut and feared that any further attempts would destroy the whole apparatus. At this point he went back to his truck to discuss with his boss. Their solution: advise me to go out and buy a new faucet and they would install the faucet for the originally agreed upon $229. I was rather stunned that this was their solution. I spoke with his boss, Jason, and explained that I refused to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new faucet when I had a perfectly functional faucet to begin with. I told him that I would still pay the $229 that I agreed upon to have my faucet repaired but I was not going to go out and buy a new one. At this point he told me he'd call us back in a few minutes. He did and ultimately agreed to provide me with a new faucet and they would install it for the original $229. This was fine with me and a perfectly fair solution. What he ended up doing was using new inside parts (rings, cartridge, supply lines etc) within my old trim (except new handle since he destroyed the original handle), not actually installing a whole brand new faucet. I'm not sure why it was so complicated to get to this end point, since this was the basically the original plan in the first place (except he didn't plan on replacing the supply lines initially) . I appreciated the company's efforts to resolve the problem, but the part that I object to is that there shouldn't have even had to be a discussion to get to this point. If their plumber intentionally had to break my faucet to repair it, then they should offer to replace it without even having to have a discussion/argument. That is terrible business practice to break my perfectly functional faucet and then tell me to go out and buy a new one. Once the plumber realized that he was not going to be able to accomplish the repair, I would have preferred that he tell me that he was uncomfortable doing the repair, bring the faucet back to its pre-repair state, waive the service charge and leave. Sure, I would have been a little annoyed with that, but I would have much preferred that to how this ultimately played out. The plumber, Garrett, was very nice despite all of this. I felt bad for the situation that he was in. Ultimately, the end result was a fixed faucet at the originally agreed upon price...and a headache.

Gee, where do I begin in listing everything that made this such a bad experience!? I will go in the order of events: For starters, the foreman on the job (Chris) was rude, insolent and talked down to me as if I were an idiot. They carelessly unloaded their large excavator which slammed into the sidewalk damaging the curb, walk and part of the driveway apron. I was told they would take care of having the damaged areas replaced. But instead, I spent 4 months battling this out with them through innumerable texts, emails and phone calls. In the end, all we received was a paltry $50 check for a repair estimated to be in the hundreds. They dug the expected massive hole in our street for the sewer connection, only to discover they dug in the wrong spot! So a second massive hole had to be dug in our street. Delay #1. Once they got to point where they run the new sewer line inside of the old one (pipe bursting) they hit a snag where the pipe wouldn't advance. So they had to call it quits and come back the next day. Delay #2 Due to the above issues, and no work on weekends, the job took 5 additional days to complete beyond the week they stated it would take. Keep in mind, no water usage or toilet flushing could be done while the sewer connection was taking place! This delay also prevented the start of our basement remodel by a full week when a crew of workers was standing by and ready to start. Lastly, we were promised a lifetime warranty on the new sewer line. Instead, they gave us only a 20 year warranty. Once again, I had to battle it out with them for 4 months before finally getting the lifetime warranty that was promised in our contract. This company's "customer service" is the worst I've ever experienced and I will never do business with them again!

Cost was a little prohibitive for me, plus they didn't really discuss the equipment options so I was not informed of just what I would be getting in terms of the $1200 water heater, for example. I prefer a little less hard sell approach. I went to Lowe's and got a 12 year warranty, self-cleaning GE water heater professionally installed for $615. I am extremely satisfied with my decision.
Description of Work: They came to diagnose water heater, potentially flush and/or change heating element. Estimate to do those things was over $500. They proposed installing new water heater, water softener and one other option for somewhere in the neighborhood of $3000.

Great job by these guys! They dug a large trench to get to the sewer line and took care not to destroy our back yard. The trench was about 6 feet deep and at least 40 feet long, so there was a lot of dirt. They removed the old (improperly installed, but not by them) sewer line, fixed the grading/slope problem, and replaced the line with higher quality pipe. Once inspected, they back filled the dirt. No problems since! It was an expensive job, but we were able to negotiate on price. Their final cost was more than $3,000 less than a quote we received from one of their competitors.

I was told I would be charged $79.00 for this contractor to provide an estimate for cost of work; and that the fee, may or may not be refunded. I carefully research and obtain 3 estimates prior to completing any major repairs at my home. While this company appeared to have a reputable rating, I have never been charged, nor do I expect to pay for an estimate on this type of costly work. I did not feel the contact was interested in assisting me, knowledgeable of the business or my inquiry, nor cared to seek my business. I will not call again for future needs, nor would I recommend.

Excellent. Broken pipe service call ended with all my this and that plumbing "gotta do" items taken care of at same time --d checked off with expert advice, quality parts, and skilled labor by super professional nice guy--Craig. Total transparency of pricing, totally understandable explanations of work needed and just as importantly of work NOT needed-- an honest inspection without pressure to do unnecessary work. Honest vendor responded in an emergency and spent the time to fix all this home's plumbing efficiently and correctly.
Description of Work: Various repairs to burst pipe, toilet rebuilds, sump pump maintenance.

We will never call them back. 3 years ago, they came for an inspection and said they needed a new water softener. They ditched a new system and my husband gave them a go ahead. For 2 years I kept noticing things were not right and I kept saying it is not softening. I got to a point and called them to come and check it. They sent a guy out and he said it was not working and it was installed backwards. I asked him what he could do about it and he said he will give me a quote. They went in the truck, sat in and came out and gave us a tremendously high quote to repair what they had done wrong. My husband called the company a couple of days later and told them to send somebody who has the authority to make the repair. They sent somebody and he looked at it and came back and gave us a higher quote. They said they are not used to working to houses that are not tracted. My husband ended up talking to the owner and he did send back some. they came and fixed and they never apologized. We were polite and we had trusted them. When they put in the new water softener, it had a computer on the top and a print. I asked for the direction book and they said no. We have no idea how to program or un-program. We do not know the manufacturer.

Mr. Plumber is a company based on trust and customer service. According to our records, we came out on 2/21/14 and found that your water shut off valve was allowing hard water only, into your water heater. Under warranty, our plumber changed the valve to let soft water into your water heater. On 3/28/14, a senior plumber came out to access your water softener. We proposed to replace a new water softener, covered under warranty. We also provided addition estimates. We quoted to install a Pro System 1.5, whole house carbon filter with regenerating valve, and gave an estimate to readjust the piping in your house, so all fixtures are soft. You declined the additional estimates that we provided you. On 4/11/14, we installed a new 1.5 Pro System, water softener that was under warranty to replace your previous water softener that we installed. We are sorry for the inconvenience we caused, with our initial install of your water softener. We did make an effort to correct the situation. We hope to have the opportunity to earn your trust again. Molly McGlinchey Customer Loyalty

We are in need of a new water heater and called for a free estimate. The two personnel who came were prompt, friendly and , knowledgable. The senior plumber, Paul Lyons, was very willing to answer all questions we had. They were able to ascertain what the water heater problem is (leak due to age) and make a good reccomendation for replacemnt. i then asked them to look at our broken water softener and obtained an estimate for replacing that as well. Will gladly call them again.
Description of Work: Provided a free estimate on future plumbing repairs.

Recently our 2nd floor master bath toilet has created a leak in the ceiling of the first floor. There have been no indications of problems from the toilet, but there is a leak just below it. Because this bathroom was added just 2 years ago where there was no plumbing before, I called the contractor who did the renovations. The contractor referred me to Mr. Plumber because they did the plumbing. The person on the phone was unable to tell me anything about the warranties on the toilet over the phone and said they'd have to charge $80 for the technician to come look at the toilet unless I had a coupon (which he acknowledged might be found online if I looked). I was hesitant because my last visit from Mr. Plumber hadn't left a positive impression (see previous review), but I agreed because I had no other way of determining whether this was under warranty. The technician who came out immediately agreed that he thought it came from the toilet. Before he even looked at his records, he said that typically labor was only under 1 year warranty, and maybe the toilet itself was under 2 year warranty. He checked out the toilet for 15 minutes and concluded that there was nothing wrong with the toilet above the floor. He said that toilets can shift and break the wax seal and create a leak but he'd not be able to determine that without taking the toilet out. He quoted me $250 or so for that and said it was not under warranty (But that the other possibility was a cracked pipe and it might be under warranty). I said I'd prefer to use someone else and he said he'd write it up and have to charge me for the service call. He spent another 15 minutes writing up the invoice. I tried to use a coupon but it was free service call IF you use them for the repair. Such a nice guy and I felt very at ease in my interactions with him. It's just a shame that I feel the business's practices and policies are so shady. Why couldn't the person on the phone see my records in order to tell me the warranty info prior to a service call? Why didn't they at least offer up that the "standard warranty on labor is one year"? SOMETHING to give me an idea of what I was working with! I'm pretty irritated that "toilets can shift" and I'm left with a leak in my ceiling, but things like that do happen and while I'm not happy about it, I get that it may not be a service providers fault everytime something happens. But I find it pretty inexcusable to hold warranty information ransom and charge someone for a service call to determine that they had bad luck on something that you installed! Most companies would try to salvage the customer relationship by eating the diagnostics charge. And word of warning to contractors: while I really like my contractor, the fact that they used a plumbing company that doesn't stand behind their work makes me question their judgment as well.
