The two men arrived on time, were friendly and professional, and did the work as requested. However, there were some issues with the final bill. Specifically, I had to pay an extra 80 dollars for them to move a wheelchair from my friend's house and into mine. This was disappointing and frustrating because I had asked the company prior to the work if the deal's original 99-dollar fee covered everything I needed to have done. The company did say that that would be the case. This scenario is also confusing because the gentleman asked if I could pay by check rather than by credit card as I had done when I originally bought the deal.

We got Moving Dawgs name off of Angie's List. They were extremely responsive, called before they came, arrived on time, and got the estimate to us that same evening. They were upfront about all of their fees and what they were for. So far, we are very pleased with them. We have decided to move forward with them for our move. Moving Dawgs moved all of our stuff to our new home across town. We couldn't have been more satisfied with them. They were on time, polite, professional, and were mindful of handling our stuff with care. While I was not present myself, my boyfriend was very impressed with them. We would absolutely use them again in the future and would recommend them, highly, to anyone.

I have used JunkDawgs in the past so had complete confidence in their abilities. One of the staff was from the junk removal service which I also highly recommend. This time they moved the large furniture pieces, beds, chests, tables, etc. including special attention to my 30+ yr old piano., 2 glass curio cabinets, and other sentimental items. Also moved the lawn tractor. I used an Angie's list coupon instantly via Iphone. Guys were professional, funny, never complained. Equipment, truck, packaging supplies were neat and clean. Highly recommend this company and supporting firefighters, law enforcement, military and our protectors.
Description of Work: Moving to new home. Service provided was phase one moving furniture to storage building later date completed move from storage to new home.

The movers arrived as promised and were very professional. They moved a couple of extra pieces that were missed on the original estimate without any problems. When we arrived at the new house tit was raining pretty hard and the guys moved fast in order to keep my furniture as dry as possible as we had quite a few pieces of antique furniture. i loved the fact that these guys are military personnel or ex-military personnel and we always try to support them whenever possible. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

They were great. I would rate them high. They were very cautious and careful with all our belongings, and that the young gentleman that was the supervisor of the crew was very professional and was very good about explaining everything they were doing and how they were going to do it. They were late in arriving, but it was because the person that had them move prior to us had not accurately given them information so that they could estimate the amount of time that it would take them. So, they did not have anybody come out prior to the move and looked everything and say that this is a six-hour job or a four-hour job. Because of that, they ended up with putting late on the job, but they continued to work until like midnight when they left. Even though they were late to arrive, they continued to work through the evening and continue to finish the job.

That turned out okay. This was for a home move. The distance of the move was a 7 miles. They packed everything and unpacked it too. It took them a total of 14 hours. They were good and showed up on time. It did take longer than I thought it was going to take though.

They had to make the trip up and down 3 flights of steps. They lifted everything without any nicks or scrapes, they were outstanding. We would use them again.

When I called Moving Dawgs to arrange the move date, the person answering had none of my information from filling out the Big Deal request form. The person explained their minimum hour charge of $78 for 2-men, their minimum equipment charge $50 and their minimum truck charge $78. All totaled over $200 plus the actual moving, and they required viewing the storage lockers contents before quoting a price which is understandable. I was able to secure another mover for $120 based on description of the 2 storage units I have and the pick-up point to destination point. This company has a 1hr minimum @ $60/hr

When I called to schedule the movers, Alex was very professional and accommdated me for scheduling. It was sort of a last minute request as we were not exactly sure when the painters would be in our offices.
Description of Work: Moved large filing cabinets and shelving away from the walls in a large file room so that the walls could be painted, along with some boxes. They returned after the painting was complete to move everything back.

Brandon and Tyler arrived about 45 minutes later than what was expected. There was a bit of confusion about the requested time the day before the service was to be performed. A representative from Moving Dawgs called me the day before to confirm an 8:00am appointment. I had originally scheduled for 10am. We agreed on a 9:00am start time during this phone call. They did not arrive until 9:45am. I think we were both trying to accommodate each other's schedule which threw timing off. It was not a big deal. This is why I gave them a B on Punctuality. Once they arrived, they went over the contract and explained their loading process and hourly costs. Brandon and Tyler loaded a 26 foot U-haul and two personal vehicles (labor only). They were extremely careful with all items and took time to pack the truck properly- complete with pads, etc. It took about three hours and 15 minutes. The U-haul was not big enough to fit everything we had so we were not able to use the entire 4 hour block that was purchased. They definitely would have been able to load the entire house in 4 hours if there was enough space to put all of the household items/boxes. Brandon and Tyler were very friendly and professional. They offered suggestions on how to move the remainder of the items and packing tips for future moves. I would recommend these two guys to do your move.

I called moving dawns and set up an appointment to have a wine refrigerator moved to my home from another location. I scheduled the move for a Saturday. They arrived as scheduled. They called 30 minutes prior to arriving at the pick up location. The wine refrigerator was moved very carefully to my home and it a timely manner. I was very pleased with their service. I would highly recommend them and would use them again without hesitation. Thanks, for a positive experience.

The guy who came out to quote the job told me it would take 2 hours to do the work after he assessed the apartment. I expected it to possibly take up to 3 but I wasn't expecting it to take 4 hours. I was told that they would move everything and disconnect electronics. They ended up disconnecting the electronics, however they didn't move some of it, they just left it on the floor. They told me the reasoning was for this was because they didn't want to be responsible for damaging them. There were also other items that they told me they didn't be responsible for moving. I was told they would be there between 4-6pm. They arrived after 6:30. By the time they started moving they timed it at 7 o'clock. Nobody called me to say they were running late. Once they arrived, they told me they came from Noblesville. They didn't allow for travel time which is why they arrived so late. We didn't finish the move until after 10:30pm. This is why I got charged for 4 hours. Whenever I went to go lock up the apartment after 11pm I noticed they had left some items behind which I had to then move myself. I also was told there would be a $50 moving truck charge and a transportation fee. I was never told this. The distance I was moving was just right around the apartment's office so not even around the block. I was for sure there would be some sort of negotiation on the transportation fee, but there wasn't. I think their charges were excessive and they don't explain them well up front. If they had explained them better then I would have picked another moving service. I was not happy with the entire experience.
Description of Work: They moved my one bedroom apartment including the dining room table with 4 chairs. sofa, 2 end tables, 2 coffee tables, a desk, and bedroom furniture including a bed, dresser, and chest of drawers. They also moved some storage tubs that I had and a few other small boxes I already had. They charged $90/hour. They charged me for 4 hours. They also brought 20 Moving boxes which I paid for separately. This cost $69

The customer was charged for 3.5 hours, not 4. During the estimate, it was said that depending on how much was prepared for the movers, it could be 2 to 3 hours. It took 3.5 all in all. The name of the contact, and who the move was for, was the person who was contacted about our time arrival. This person was actually not on site for the move so the message of our arrival time must not have been relayed to the appropriate person. During the estimate, the customer acknowledged that she knew about the $50 truck fee but asked about the $50 transportation. It was told to her that the $50 transportation fee is applied to all moves and would be applied to this move as well. The customer called to schedule the move and again asked about the transportation fee. Our office manager notified the customer that the $50 transportation fee would be charged to the move. The customer was told multiple times before the move about all fees. We also send an email of the estimate clearly stating these fees, as well as a confirmation email of the move with our contract attached that also clearly states these fees. We are not sure how much more we can explain our fees and be upfront about them. All fees are also posted on our website. We do not try to keep any fees or pricing secret from our customers. To be fair, all the contact information we had for this move was for the actual person moving and this review is from the person who coordinated the move. It may be possible our emails and phone calls went to the actual homeowner and this person did not receive it. However, we also were not notified that she did not receive anything.

The General Manager did an on-site estimate and grossly underestimated the job. He sent 2 guys (one tired from working late the night before and the other inexperienced) to move a 4,900 sq ft house. I questioned that plan three times prior to the move date and he assured me they would get me moved in 10-12 hours. Of course, it didn't happen. It took the two men 8 hours to pack the first ALMOST full load on the 27-ft truck. They got less than half of a second load moved in 11.5 hours, prior to their 8:00 p.m. start of charging time-and-a-half, which I was not interested in paying. Why would I pay two overly exhausted movers at time-and-a-half?! That is not a standard policy among moving companies and I consider it an unethical bait-and-switch tactic. To schedule so poorly, says they clearly don't value their employees, but they don't value their customers any higher because I requested, and never received, a return phone call from either of the part-time owners who "can't be reached when they're at work at Grissom," nor from the General Manager, who created the mess to begin with. No apology, no offer to make it right, no acknowledgement whatsoever. The slap in the face came when they had the scheduler/receptionist return my call to offer me, not the junk hauling service for free, but instead a mere $25 discount on their junk hauling service fee. After spending Easter Sunday with a few family and friends that were available, moving 9 pickup truckloads, I was forced to hire Busy Bee Movers on Monday to successfully complete the job. Their crew was able to move the office furniture and Lloyd Flanders wicker furniture to the two upstairs rooms the Moving Dawgs crew said couldn't be done! Moving Dawgs is a FAILURE of a "business." Unless they drastically change their management methods and customer service, they shouldn't expect to survive. I've already steered potential business away from them to other well-founded and well-managed moving companies, and I continue to warn others of this horrible experience and company.

We were upfront with this customer during the entire process. We offer a 2 man or 4 man crew. The 4 man crew was offered and the customer was not interested in paying the higher rate for a 4 man crew; this conversation occurred in the customer's garage before the GM left the estimate. The move was quoted on site and estimated at 12 hours. Estimates are not binding, nor firm. We do not portray our estimates in this way. If we finish sooner, the customer pays less as well so it is not one-directional; we do not trap customers. All customers receive a confirmation email with a contract attached where it clearly states all the fees and regulations associated, including the time and a half pay after 8pm clause. Regardless of this, the customer called Monday to complain about the underestimation of the move. Move went great other than the estimate. Customer asked for free service which we felt was not fair on our end just because of an estimate not being exactly perfect. We offered to come finish the move and we offered to do junk removal, but neither sufficed. We were accused of purposefully underestimating the move. We never forced for more money or pushed to keep our guys there. We did everything the customer asked, with the exception of offering a free service. We are quick to correct mistakes and could have worked with the customer the day of the move but we received no contact during the move and was only asked to make it right after the fact by providing service at no cost. We, in no way, forced the customer to use us or pay more for a move; therefore, not using any tactics of any kind. The customer placed priority on our movers to finish at 8pm. The movers told the customer it would take a decent amount of time to move the items upstairs that she was wanting upstairs. Given that the priority was to complete the move by 8, our movers made a decision to leave the items and spend time on getting other items to the new home. The crew consists of a mover who has been with the company for over a year doing moves 4-5 days a week and, yes, a new employee who has years of moving experience. Both movers were and are more than capable of doing the move and they were willing to stay longer if necessary. It is apparent the move was underestimated. Moving Dawgs never claimed that it was accurately quoted. Nor would Moving Dawgs, or the GM who also handles customer complaints, purposefully underestimate a move. It is a very low blow that our "part-time" owners are attacked when they are serving at Grissom Air Reserve base as Fire Fighters. Not to mention that one owner was on vacation (out of state) during this time. They are, in fact, full-time owners who happen to be full-time firefighters as well. We are more than willing to work with customers under fair conditions when we are not being accused of intentionally sabotaging a basic, non-binding estimate. Again, all told, the customer has agreed that the actual move went well, it was just underestimated. We were also willing to complete the move another day waiving our transportation and truck fee (just charging hourly rate) and customer would not agree to this resolution and suggested we should offer free junk removal service.

Horrible experience. Tired movers made it a 16 hour day when they estimated it should only take 8. I had to go out and rent a U-Haul as the movers packing and loading skills were slow and poor. Leader kept apologizing for slowness and his explanation was they were short handed. All in all Moving Dawgs slowness cost me more money than if I would have contracted with Two Men and a Truck. I will never use Moving Dawgs again.
