Louis was amazing. He is very responsive and trustworthy. His pricing was within our budget and the quality of his work was well beyond our expectation. He is very meticulous and has a keen eye for his craft. We gave Louis a key to our home and he would complete the work while my wife and I were away at work. If you are considering tiling a bathroom or kitchen I highly recommend Louis and Mitchell Ceramic & Marble.

Terrible. Buyer beware. I started out pleased - the price quoted seemed reasonable ($875.00 to tear out existing tile and sheetrock and re-tile once the new tub was installed by our plumber). However, I soon realized that I should have never hired him in the first place. It was difficult to pin him down on when exactly we were on the schedule - we would get answers like "Well, I might be able to come over Monday or Friday." We had to press him to give us a day and time. And even then he was late every time he was scheduled to be at our house...and didn't show one day. He is painstakingly slow, and the job that was supposed to take just a couple of days stretched into multiple days. Some might see this as being meticulous, but I believe he was unprepared to complete the work. And, the quality of his work (in my non-tile installer opinion) wasn't all that great. Keep in mind he was working on our ONE bathroom - which meant that we had to tape up plastic every day after he left just to use the shower. It was a complete nightmare. I called in another contractor who finished the job in 90 minutes. We paid him half at tear-out, and he was due the other half at completion. I didn't want to pay him another cent, since he never finished the job, but I ended up sending him a check for $200.00 (in addition to the $450.00 payment at the onset) to cover the work that he had done up to that point. Worst. Experience. Ever.

Louis is a great guy and very hard worker. He was able to help us out of a bind and finish the floor we had started to install ourselves. He worked around our schedule and got it done in no time. He does excellent work and the floor turned out beautifully. We highly recomment Louis and hope to have him do other work for us in the future.

Louis did a great job installing my kitchen back splash. He is a meticulous craftsman who takes a great deal of pride in his work. He also was very customer-focused and checked in with me throughout the installation to make certain it was coming out as I had envisioned it. A trustworthy gentleman. Would definitely use his services again.

Mr. Mitchell is very experienced and trustworthy. We can't say anything negative about him as a contractor or as a person other than he works too hard. He will strive to make sure you are completely happy with the work he does. We were definitely satisfied, and will gladly refer him.

Very professional, nice and patient with questions. Worked to deduce the problem instead of going for the most expensive fix. Called back in a few days to see if the fix worked and offered next steps. Would use again.

During the inspection of a house we are purchasing evidence of a past master shower leak was discovered. It was recommended that it be further evaluated. Louis spent 2 hours investigating and diagnosing the problem. He found the issue and provided a proposal for fixing it. Louis' written proposal was presented to the seller's who have agreed to provide us with the funds to have the work done after closing. Will follow up this review when the repair work is completed in January 2016.

We called Louis Mitchell for an estimate and he came out to the house to give us an estimate. We found the estimate to be fair and decided to to set up a time for him to come out and do the job. He put us on the schedule and showed up on time. He was very prompt, professional, and paid attention to detail. We were happy with the work he did.

He did a great job and was a pleasure to work with.

The overall work went great. Louis explained everything that was going to happen and he stopped by a few times a week. His son did most of the work and did a great job. They were both very professional and do excellent work. My only complaint was about the punctuality. Sometimes you would expect them early and they would get back logged and not make it out until early afternoon. That being said they always communicated this. I really enjoyed talking to them and learning about what they were doing. Also after completion of the job we had an issue with our main floor toilet after they reinstalled it. Louis came back 3 times in a week until we got it fixed. This was all after I paid them. I would definitely hire them again and hope to this spring for a couple bathroom jobs.

It was great. They were kind, affordable and did a beautiful job. The estimate was just excellent too. The tiler arrived on Tuesday install the kitchen back-splash and the next day he tiled the island. Then on the third day he grouted both areas the last day. Both areas look great! We would highly recommend them.

We had an existing fireplace retiled with stone. There was also some repair work involved. It went very well. the fireplace looks beautiful! Would definitely recommend.

It was great. They were kind, affordable and did a beautiful job. The estimate was just extraordinary. They were very responsive via phone to any questions or concerns. The tiler arrived on Monday to do a beautiful job. Then he returned two days later finish the grout. I couldn't be happier. They were thorough, and they were a great value. We would highly recommend them.

We hired Louis to remove our 40yr old bathtub ceramic tiled walls and replace the backing wall with concrete backing board, new tiles, corner shelves, etc. The work was done over several days and we could not be happier with the results. Louis and Lee did a great job, were exceedingly polite and friendly to work with. You can't do better for the price, no way. I already have a bid for Louis to do my other bathroom now. I will be hiring him again.

Working with Louis Mitchell, the owner, was a wonderful experience. He provided a reasonable quote and was able to get work scheduled and completed in a prompt manner. The tile was installed perfectly, and he was very professional and a perfectionist. My husband and I could not be happier with this company and will use them again in the future.

The project went extremely well and we are delighted with the outcome. This project was somewhat complex in that floor joists had to be exposed and lowered in order to accommodate the new shower floor. Additionally, our shower walls and much of the rest of the bathroom has a porcelain tile that is no longer available. By installing a lower shower floor, there was some of the shower wall exposed below the old tile. Mitchell proposed removing a single line of existing tile above the shower floor and extending the new floor tile up the wall to meet the old porcelain tile. They also suggest putting in a decorative band of glass tile to separate the two. The outcome is beautiful. The work was accomplished quickly and completely according to schedule. The workmanship is excellent. The creativity of their suggestions to solve the problems our project presented were excellent and appreciated. We did look at other contractors but liked the care and attention Mr Mitchell exhibited and his price was excellent. In summary, any time I can get a quality product/service, on time at a very competitive price I am most satisfied. I would, without hesitation, recommend Mitchell to anyone and have already done so several times.

Mr Mitchell did an outstanding job of re-tile on my fireplace. He CREATED a new design to fit with the pieces that I had purchased and made a remarkable transformation. He was clean and thorough and on time and within budget.. I would definitely recommend him for his services

This was one of the all time worst experiences ever. The work was to be completed in two weeks. It went on for 4 months and had me up looking at youtube videos to see if I could finish the work myself. For 4 months I had a toilet in my upstairs hall and each day would drag out towels to place all over the stairs and entry trying to protect new carpet since January - April was constant snow and ice getting tracked in. The carpet was left in bad shape and the thresholds were not properly stretched and joined. The carpet was only 2 years old. The toilet paper holder was knocked off and never repaired and bathroom left a mess to clean up. There was one excuse after another for either not showing up or showing up late in the day, sometimes 3PM. Sometimes he would stay an hour or two and leave and some weeks he showed up 2 or 3 times. The garage held many items from our move to Carmel and everything was covered in tile dust. Same with the whole house when he cut the threshold. A plastic drape would have helped but he appeared oblivious to messing up our home. From day one I handed Mr. Mitchell the new tub faucet and the closer they got to tiling the faucet area the more I reminded to install it. He kept reassuring me he would. Once the tub area was completely tiled he told me I would have to get a plumber to install it. It then required cutting out the wall in the bedroom behind the faucet! Mr.Mitchell appears to be a very nice and kind man and may have good intentions (but would a really nice man make excuses for 4 months and not care if your entire life was in disarray?). I agree with the reviewer who said she couldn't keep it to herself anymore about his work ethics just because he was kind. Mr. Mitchell may need to choose another career path because he needs to understand that the stress he is putting families through is just plain wrong.

Louis Mitchell, owner promptly arrived at my home to conduct an assessment of my shower issue and provide an estimate for the repairs. I was amazingly pleased that he was willing to fix as much, or as little as I wanted to just get the job done. I had quite an unexpected issue and repairs for this was not in my budget. He quoted me what seemed like a very fair price for labor, and presented it to me with the flexibility of allowing me to purchase necessary items at my convenience, if I wanted-which I also appreciated. I needed to allow some drying to occur before we could do the repair, so a few days later I called and committed to having him do the work. Mitchell Tile is a small company, and they took on a serious job right after doing my estimate I believe so I think it was just bad timing for me. It was difficult to get them back to do the work promptly, but they did fit me in, and even came in evenings to squeeze in some work in between working on their other job. It was frustrating to me to not have it done more quickly and there were a few times that they committed to coming and didn't show up, however I was convinced that I was receiving excellent workmanship, at a great value. I would definitely choose them again. My shower is fixed, and my wallet isn't empty. Thank you Mitchell Ceramic Tile & Marble.

I rated Mitchell Ceramic Tile an overall C because the workmanship was excellent. I am very happy with the final outcome. But if you are in any sort of a hurry to have the repair made, or want him to show up at the time he says he will, or at all on some days, perhaps this is not your contractor. He may have overextended himself on jobs. Of the first 9 potential work days, no work was done on 5 of them. All in all it took three weeks for the job to be completed. It led to a great deal of stress and frustration on my part.

He scheduled me in on a Wednesday but didn't come out until Friday. He seems a little over-booked. However, Mr Mitchell is a very nice guy and did an excellent job. It was worth waiting the extra days. He was also the most reasonably priced offer out of 3 bids.

We had a bathroom remodeled about 18 months ago by a different, highly rated, Angie's List provider. Less than six months after the installation was complete the cap on the shower curb came loose allowing water to enter beneath. We called the installer and they fixed the problem with a promise it should not recur. It did, less than 3 months later. We called Mitchell instead of the original installer (even though we could have had the original installer do it at no charge). Louis educated us on why the problem happened, and remodeled the shower curb. The process required three trips (allowing for glue to dry, etc.). The provider had to reschedule a couple times due to outside problems. That happens, and he did communicate pretty well through it. Notwithstanding, the fix seems to be holding very well and no problems so far. We appreciate the time Louis took to do the job right, especially since he didn't do the original installation. The price charged was very fair considering he had to make three separate trips (that's what the job required).

Provider called when he realized he was going to be late for the appointment . He gave me a new time and showed up promptly.
