It is convenient and they call me when its time to get things going, I don't have to worry about reaching them. I think they are fine. I see him like four times a year.

As stated by the company, they called when the "technician" was on his way. When he arrived, we showed him the faucet and said that my husband had tried to repair it and asked what he thought it would cost. The technician brought out a notebook that contained preset prices. The price, he showed me in the book, was $275 for several categories, one of which was a "faucet rebuild," which I guess is what they consider it if they have to replace any parts - this is a pretty simple Delta kitchen faucet. He said the $54 would come off that - so still a total of $221. I asked him what it would have cost if we had bought a new faucet and just asked them to install it and he said it would still be $275. I told him I thought that was way, way too high and told him we had an estimate of $85-$105 from another plumber and that I had thought even that was a little high (which is probably naive of me so far as plumber charges go), and he said well, they had 50 trucks, gas, etc. and that the local plumber probably had three or four. Not sure what his reasoning was there so far as explaining their high charges. After writing up the invoice in his truck, he came back and said he would do it for $183 and I said less the $54? And he said no. I wrote a check for the $69 service charge and he left. Here's the thing, the young woman at the office definitely implied, by stating that the technician would come, look at the job and give me an estimate "to the penny" what it would cost, that prices were based on what the technician saw when he got here, when all along, their prices for everything are predetermined. She actually could have told me on the phone, when I asked, what the job would have cost, but then they would not have collected their $69 because I, of course, would have said no thanks. We have already called different plumber who, over the phone, said it was his opinion that it would save us money in the long run to purchase a new faucet ourselves, which I did bring up, and have them install it, in case they had to come out to try to repair ours and could not, and that the uneventful install would probably cost around $95. That is what we will do. I will report on that company when the job is done in a couple of days..
Description of Work: We called Mister Quik to repair a kitchen faucet - we were having trouble getting it to turn off and my husband had tried a couple of times to replace rings and springs to no avail. We called them based on their numerous TV ads that, at this time, mentioned $54 off a "plumbing repair." When I called to set up the appointment, I asked the young woman who answered if they had a minimum charge. She said they had a $69 service charge and that once here, the repairman would look at the job and be able to tell me "to the penny" what the job would cost.

Mister Quik came on time and discussed with me at length what services were needed to move the oven, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher to different locations in the kitchen. It was time well spent and efficiently done as well. I purchased a year's service agreement. I would not hesitate to call them for emergency electrical & plumbing repairs.

Their technicians didn't understand the technology of the system they installed. They were ok, but they had to come back several times to adjust the system. However, they were very responsive and the price was competitive. They do come when you call so you don’t have to wait.

The Big Deal went fine. I’ve been with them for about 2 years now. They have been very good about coming out. They are my backup plan for anything that goes wrong with my systems. They aren’t the least expensive, but they are good and very informative. I trust them. I think they give me honest advice about things that are wrong or could be improved.

The manager called on Monday and apologized for the poor communications. I told him I no longer wanted to do any business with Mister Quik. He once again apologized. I told him I would pay for the $69 service call for the estimate. He told me there would be no charge at all. I told him point blank that this business deal was over, and I had better not be charged for any service except the $69. since they had provided no service. He once again assured me I would not be charged anything, and he was sorry for the way his employees had handled the situation. The final straw was when I looked at my charge card this Saturday, March 29, a charge for $3834.95 from Mister Quik appeared. I was outraged. I called my credit card company immediately and disputed the charge. I then called Mister Quik and complained to a service representative. I do not understand how anyone would have the nerved to charge $3834.95 for zero service. I think this company is the most disreputable company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau on Monday. This is criminal behavior as far as I am concerned.
Description of Work: This service was never performed. The provider was suppose to install a sink faucet and a sump pump. The provider could not do the work that evening and rescheduled for Monday 03/24/2014. The following day I received a call at 9:05 a.m. from Mister Quik's office that someone would out within the hour. After waiting for over three hours, I called and complained. They told me someone would be there at 2:00. I was angry for waiting so long already so I told them I no longer wanted their service. They apologized and told me I would be receiving a call from their manager on Monday. I went ahead and installed the sink faucet with my son-in-law that Saturday evening. The sump pump still needs to be fixed, but it works "somewhat" so I have postponed fixing it for now.

I had to pay extra to purchase a switch that lets you know if there is build up in the exhaust. The service went well. They were not able to come out the same day but could come out the following day. They did a good job and we have not had any issues over the past year.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for $49 for 17-Point Heating System Tune-Up & Cleaning. They performed the service at our rental property.

Researched on Internet and found new motor was no more than $200.. Called All Star Heating and got 2nd option. They found the problem was a dirty flame sensor that caused the furnace to shut down. This a part Mr Quik should have kept clean as part of the annual maintenance. I am no longer using Mr Quik.
Description of Work: Called them out as the furnace was blowing cold air. The repairman inspected the furnace and said I needed a new motor. Gave me an estimate of $1013

Let me start this by stating we will NEVER use this service provider again. We have used them several times in the past without problem. However; On Dec 24 we had a blockage that caused our dishwasher to back up into the kitchen and flood the basement. Use of the washing machine would cause water to back up into the kitchen sink and flood the kitchen too. The initial service tech that arrived here Dec 24 was considerate and arrived on time. He was unable to remove the blockage. He informed us that the repair (re-pipe section of kitchen drain and clean the remainder of drain to sewer main) couldn?t be accomplished that day as he had several more stops to make before he could go home. He promised we would be first on the repair list Dec 26. We understood and wished him a great holiday. We were without a dishwasher, a kitchen sink, or laundry facilities over Christmas. On Dec 26 they informed us at 9:30 AM that we had been pushed back to the 1-3 timeslot. At 2 we called to ask what time the tech would be by - we had plans and needed to leave home by 5. The operator stated they could not guarantee that someone would be by that afternoon. I was disappointed but asked if we could be first on the list the next day (the 27th). The operator said she couldn?t guarantee that but we could be first on the repair list the following Monday the 30th. When I started to get upset, the operator stated that I needed to stop screaming ? which I was not. I was upset and letting her know this was not acceptable ? but I was NOT screaming. We were having a dinner party Saturday the 28th and could not be without a kitchen sink. Even if I had been screaming they should have understood why I was upset ? being promised a service on the 26th and then being told we would have to wait until the 30th. I called another service provider who was able to come out the 27th. He fixed the problem (unclogged vent and installed a screen, snaked all pipe to sewer main, and removed blockage in sewer main) and stated the repair suggested by Mr. Quik would have been inappropriate. We will NEVER use Mr. Quik again.

They have been a pleasure to work with. When the new system had a few hiccups, they employed every remedy they had including two visits by the company's manager. All in all, they have been quite punctual and each crew member was very nice and professional. You know a company best when equipment is not cooperating. Do they stress for you? Do they try to keep charging you? I felt they genuinely cared for my experience as a customer.

He told me that my electrical box would have to be replaced because they no longer made the breakers for the box. I have found out since then that another company does make replacement breakers. I also found out that they overcharged me. I noticed in the Indy Star Newspaper dated Wed. Oct. 30, 2013, that they are being investigated for overcharging and performing unneeded repairs.
Description of Work: Half of my kitchen did not have electricity. The breaker in the kitchen wasn't putting out power, so they replaced the entire box.

On the 10th of the month we had a problem with a switch that was over the kitchen sink. The light flickered out and we called Mister Quik. They sent Scoot out to come and check the wiring. Instead of checking the outlet, Scott directly went out to check fuse box. The man never checked the switch next to the sink. He didn't even test it. Instead, he brought back a small part from the fuse box that had a tiny spot on it. He proceeded to use scare tactics to tells that our whole house could burn down if he didn't have a surge protector installed. He never even checked the light, he said that we just needed to replace it. We got a new light and it didn't work. The company proceeded to tells us that we'd have to pay another servicing fee to come out and fix the light. We got them to come for free because we had just spent $606.95 (335.00 for the protector, and 262 for the single circuit diagnosis) for the surge protection. When he came back he actually checked the switch and tighten the wiring for five minutes, and the light came on. We threw away another the old light so the service manager actually did send us a check on September 12th, for 15 dollars, the cost of the replacement light. I was suspicious of the charge for such a small part and went to Lowes. I got a printout that said he protector cost $68.65 for the exact same part, which is over a 500% markup. The work took less than an hour, and all the while, Scott was asking all sorts of personal questions to distract from the fact that he wasn't doing anything. When we confronted the service manager, Mike, he said the same the same thing that Scott did upon his return visit. They said the diagnosis was absolutely necessary and the employee smugly said that he'd been doing for 21 years and that he knew what we needed. I can tell you first hand that I don't need to be charged over $200 dollars for a servicing that should take less than 15 minutes, and that I don't need to be grossly overcharge for a part.

The technician called to say he was running a couple of minutes late, which I appreciated. When he (James Beavers) arrived, he was shown the light switch and found immediately that it was bad, and replaced it. He showed me where it was broken out in the back, James went to the circuit breaker box and noticed that some of the non-UL listed breakers were not the right size, which could cause problems, and suggested replacing them. He gave me an estimate, and I approved. James also noticed the surge protection device needed to be up-graded. Again he gave me the cost in advance, and I approved. James was very neat, friendly and very professional. He explained everything he saw which needed to be replaced, and gave me costs prior to doing any work. I would be pleased if James Beavers could be the technician who came to my home the next time I needed electrical work done. I was very impressed with the quality of work Mister Quik did.
Description of Work: I called for an electric switch in the master bath that was not working. The switch was bad and had to be replaced. The technician was very thorough and found that the non-UL listed breakers were not up to code and suggested replacing them. The surge protection was out-dated and he suggested it be replaced as well.

A connector on the hose leading into the toilet broke while we weren't home, flooding the bathroom and the kitchen directly below. We called Mister Quik that night and they were able to send someone out late the next morning. Great! The only point in their favor. Although their fix worked temporarily, a few days later the hose started dripping again, setting back the efforts of the crew we hired to dry out the subfloor by another day or two. We called Mister Quik back and they were happy to come out and do more work, charging us even more money. Sorry, but when your incompetence means the problem you're trying to fix persists, you need to own up to it. We'll be calling a different plumber next time, hopefully one who can fix the problem the FIRST time and not charge us hundreds of extra dollars to correct their mistake.

Description of Work: We have a contract with Mister Quik whereby we pay a monthly fee and they come out and look over all of our major units; ac, water heater, furnace, and plumbing. Today he came out to check on our water heater and the plumbing. He went down in our crawl space and informed us about what to watch out for in the future. He maintenanced the water heater and told us what needs to be done with it. When he checked our general plumbing, he fixed a problem which had caused us to not have hot water (for over two months!) in one of our bathrooms. No charge! He was awesome!

Description of Work: Toilet overflowed. Checked Christian phone book. Called Mr. Quik. Authorized service call. He cleaned/snaked the drain---gone in 30 minutes. Charged me $394. Never told me he had a constant coupon running for $99. He ripped me off for nearly $300. I'm an 82 year old partially disabled 20% 25 year Air Force vet. I appealed to VISA, channels 6,8,and 13, and to BBB. Also to Christian yellow pages. All to no avail. Had one telephone response from someone at Mr. Quik who refused to return any overcharge saying, in effect, we GOTCHA. Gave me a long speel about how much money they have invested in equipment. It is absolutely dishonest, immoral, unethical, robbery, un-Christian to charge $400 for 30 minutes of unskilled easy work. Why do you allow them to advertise in your publication and lend them credibility? You may call me anytime Cell 317-501-9800

They couldn't give me a quote over the phone because they did not have a fee structure. They insisted on me being there to meet them on the property for this quote. They wanted me to pay them a fee for showing up. I told them I could not be at the property. They came anyway and left a quote which was extremely expensive for just installing two 4 ' long light fixtures. On the back of the quote was the rate structure they originally said that they did not have. Then they left me an invoice for the quote that they left. This seems to be an incredibly deceptive business practice. There was an article within the last two weeks in the Indianapolis Star about this company having deceptive business practices.
Description of Work: I called them to give me quote on having a couple of ceiling mount florescent light fixtures installed (I had already purchased the lights and fixtures).

We called them on 2 different occasions. We paid $1000.00 to have a shower diverter installed on a Sunday. We were in the middle of a bathroom refresh when we found some plumbing leaks and did a complete tear down and redo, so when they came out to fix the shower the tub and shower walls were installed but th drywall was still down in the laundry room so it was easy access to the pluming. The second call was for new shut-off valves for the bathroom sink which was not installed yet, they did them and gave us an estimate for some other work and left, we had to call them back in a 1/2 hour because during sink and cabinet installation we noticed 1 was leaking they came right back and fixed it. Over-all we are very happy with this company we just think that pricing was really high.
