Sam was the gentleman who came out and he was timely, professional, explained everything very well, and did a great job. Everything works great and his work was very well. He went out of his way to do some extra work for us, for example, he had to work to shape a light. It was complicated-you could bend and twist it different ways. We love the work and their prices were reasonable. He also waived the travel charge both times he came to our house.
Description of Work: They fixed an electrical wire that had been severed by a saw, they also put in an electrical box and a light for us.

I was awakened in the middle of the night by an upstairs fire alarm. Long story short, I called IPL when more than half my lights went out. The IPL electrician showed me my meter base and told me I was lucky I didn't have a fire. The covering on one bundle of wires had melted away and the bare wires were almost touching other wires. Arcing between the wires was causing the trouble. The IPL electrician cut the wires to prevent a fire and advised me to call an electrician. I called 2 electricians from the Yellow pages (no internet!) that stated they had 24 hr. emergency service. When I had to call IPL again, because of more flickering lights, IPL seemed surprised that electricians had not called me back. So I went back to the Yellow pages and found Mister Quick. When I called Mister Quick a person answered the phone. I had an electrician at my house in less than 2 hours. The electrician worked all day removing the old meter base and damaged breaker panel and installing new ones. It was very hot and humid. He had to work in my garage for the panel and in the full sun in the backyard for the meter. It was awful hot but the electrician never complained; he was courteous, professional and just kept working. When he finished installing the new meter base and breaker panel he walked through my house with me to make sure everything was back on and working. I appreciate the quick service I received from Mister Quick. I appreciate the electrician who spent an entire day getting my electricity back on. I appreciate that he took the time to make sure my electronics were back on and working. I am grateful for the great service I received.

It was a great experience. The price was a little more than I expected, but everyhting was still very good. I had to travel across the city to get there, they were more than accomodating to give me a call before they left so we could arrive at the same time. They even gave me some options to think about before I arrived.

We moved into a new home to discover that our outside faucets weren't working. They were hooked up to well water and the well pump needed replacing. Mister Quik quoted us for replacing the well pump - a $4,000+ job. But also provided us with a quote for hooking the hose line up to city water instead. We chose the cheaper option and were happy we did! Couldn't be more pleased!

When he came to look at the problem told me the lower left part of my panel was going out and the entire panel needed to be replaced. We were quoted $1600 originally (including a protection package). Before he left, he told me that they work out financing. I got a letter from Wells Fargo telling me a credit card had been applied for in my name from Mister Quick. I also got a second opinion from another company (who didn't know they were a second opinion). This company told me that a connection wasn't plugged in and there wasn't anything wrong with the panel. He told me there would be evidence if this was actually true. He didn't charge me for his services.

Called the Saturday morning of Memorial weekend, with power out on half the house. They answered the phones promptly, set up a visit, and were on time. The technician found the problem quickly, but would not hook up the feeder lines without replacing the breaker box. The Mister Quik technician said it would only take a couple of hours (another companies quote said it would take all day). He provided a quote to perform all work, and I agreed. He left to pick up supplies, was back in the early afternoon, and finished by evening. Overall was very impressed with his work. I thought the price was a little high, but had nothing to compare it against. Very happy to have power back for the weekend.
Description of Work: Replaced 100A Breaker box and fixed overhead feeder lines to the house.

A popping noise and sparks came from our ceiling fan. Not knowing if it was an electrical issue or a ceiling fan issue, I contacted Mr. Quik. Although arriving late (but I was called to inform me he was running late) the electrician was extremely knowledgeable. Upon checking to see if we had a surge protector on our electical panel (which we didn't), he informed me that our panel was being damaged because of the lack of a surge protector (I never knew I was supposed to have one!) and would need to replace the panel as it was a code violation. The house is only 8 years old, so investing $2000+ at this time wasn't an option. Being very conscious of our financial situation, he talked me through other options and he left with me adding a surge protector and having to purchase a new ceiling fan! I was so impressed, I signed a service contract with Mr. Quik replacing a service contract I had just purchased a month before from another company who has yet to contact me for my annual A/C inspection. The next day Mr. Quik called to schedule an appointment for the A/C inspection. I believe I made the right decision as the original company still has contacted me!
Description of Work: Mr. Quik was called to check our ceiling fan that had a popping noise and sparks followed by failure to operate. Mr. Quik left after installing a surge protector on our electrical panel and taking our ceiling fan for the dump.

They gave me an appointment for that same day from 1-4. However, they called at 2 to tell me they were down a technition and wouldn't be able to get to it today. I asked if someone could come after working hours or anything since I had stayed home from work already. They said no. I would have appreciated a call earlier so I could have maybe called someone else and not wasted a day off of work.

On May 28th, 2010, I called Mr. Quik Electric in Noblesville to help me assess and consult me on the problems with my wiring in the basement of my house. They were local and on Angie's List so I figured they'd be a quality operation. When I called on the 28th to set up the appointment, a fellow named Brandon answered the phone and was very polite and said it would cost $70 for a technician to come out and give me a layout of the wiring in my house. He also said the earliest he good get a technician to my house would be Tuesday June 1st. I thought this was reasonable and said ok. Three days passed, June 1st arrived, and the technician (his name was Tom I believe) arrived at my house on time. Once he got inside he asked me what he was suppose to do. I was surprised that after three days he still had no order papers or anything with him from the office giving him a general idea of what I wanted him for. So I had to once again try to explain to him that I needed an idea of how my basement was wired. He and I went into my basement and I told him that I was remodeling my basement needed to ground some outlets, etc... He asked me if I'd like an estimate of how much it would cost for him to go ahead and do all the electrical work himself that day. I said yes since I figured it couldn't hurt to just get an estimate. He proceeded to give me an exremely expensive estimate, and I said no thanks. I told him that when I called, I was told I could get a layout of the wiring in my house for $70. He said that was the cost for him to just come out to my house, and then he asked me if I wanted a "diagnosis" of my wiring, and told me how much it would cost altogether. It sounded a bit expensive to me but a "diagnosis" sounded more like what I was trying to get at so I said yes. He told me to give him a few minutes to work, and I said ok and went back upstairs to finish eating my lunch. Literally, about five minutes later, he called me back down and tried to explain to me how my basement was wired execept he pointed to one wire, told me it was the wire to the basement, and told me I would have to run two new circuits from my breaker box to my basment for the outlets and the lights. That was it. Then reluctantly wrote him a check, and he left. Later on that day, my friend and I worked on the basement and discovered that not only had I been ripped off, but I had been given bad information. The wire the tech pointed to was not the "feed wire" and we did not need to run any new circuits to the basement.
Description of Work: Technician glanced at cords and cables and wrote out estimates the whole time. He was in and out within a half hour.

This was a warranty service call for a unit Mr. Quik installed less than a year ago. The compressor pump would not run, no AC. I called at 7:30 am on the 24th and Rebecca scheduled a service call for between 1 and 2 that afternoon. At 3:30 I called and was told I was next and the technician would be there in about 30 minutes. After about 4 more calls talking to Brandon and Rebecca, each time telling me it would about 30 minutes, I gave up. The technician, Ken, showed up at 9:30 pm that night. Ken told me that the problem was a faulty low-pressure switch (that tells the unit to not run when there is low freon pressure in the system). He said he didn't have a replacement switch on his truck, so he would bypass the switch so the compressor/pump would run continuously. he said he would be back the next day with a new switch. Ken didn't leave a work order (he said he would bring it with him the next day. I found out later that he had taken the install work order and initial install check paperwork from a packet that was kept on the airhandler, in the house. No one from Mr. quik came back the next two days, the 25th and 26th. I called and spoke with Brandon on the evening of the 25th and told him I was concerned because even the the unit was running, the air temp was ambient with the outside air temp. I suggested that maybe the unit was in fact low on freon and I expressed concern that the unit would be running continuously without enough freon to lubricate the pump. Brandon said he would send someone out first thing in the morning at 8:30 am. The technician showed up at 12 noon. He put some dye in the unit to determine if there was a leak, and said he would be back in a couple of days. I called Mr. Quik at 8:00 am on June 1st (after the Memorial Day weekend) and asked Rebecca if she would send someone to finish the repair work. She said Brandon had overheard my call and could get someone out in a couple of days, because they were very busy. I told Rebecca if they couldn't get someone out today that i would call another company to finish the repairs and send Mr. Quik the bill. I called a local, Danville, company and they came out within 3 hours. The technician identified 1) the "low-pressure switch" was operative; 2) there was an open winding on the compressor motor, requiring a "hard start" kit (probably a result of running without lubrication), 3) the unit was low on freon, due to a leak. He came back the next day with "hard start kit", installed the kit, located the leak (he said a dye packet wasn't necessary) and repaired the leak then added the freon. The unit has performed flawlessly since his repairs. I call Mr. Quik on the 2nd, and asked Brenda for a copy of the work order from the 24th and the return of the paperwork removed by the technician from the packet on the air handler, I have not received the requested paperwork from Mr. Quik. Mr.Quik will not pay. I am filing a Small Claims.
Description of Work: Mr. Quik was to repair my non-working Heat Pump/AC. The technician "hotwired" the compressor to run continuosly, and fail to check freon pressure. The next technician Installed a dye packet in the freon system.

I wasn't happy with them because they canceled. I didn't care for this company.
Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Quick and had set up an appointment to have my air conditioning repaired because it wasn't working. They called and said they had to reset the appointment because they said they had an emergency. My A/C was not working so I asked them why their emergency was better then mine.

I took the day off of work and they ended up calling indicating they couldn't make the scheduled time. When the scheduler offered to give me a 5% discount for a reschedule to another date, I said OK. Second scheduled time comes around and I take off early from work...an hour into the 3-5 PM time for someone to show up they hadn't called. Since I had a commitment at 6 PM I called them and was told a guy was going to be there but that he was running late. At that point seeing that it was highly unlikely I was going to get an estimate let alone any work done, I cancelled the appointment and told them I won't be rescheduling. Communication was poor and punctuality was non-existent. I expected more from an Angie's List award winner.
Description of Work: Setup an appointment for Mr Quik a couple days in advance to give me an estimate on miscellaneous minor electrical fixes and upgrades at my house and potentially do work pending the estimate.

The service technician did not make the scheduled appointment and did not call prior to the appointment window to let me know they cannot make it.
Description of Work: I scheduled an appointment between 1 and 3 pm. I did not receive a call to let me know they were on there way. At 2:45 pm I called and they told me that they would have to re-schedule my appointment because they were short an electrician. I asked for a Saturday appointment because I was inconvenvienced and was told there would be a $99 service fee and the Angie's coupon could not be applied. If they knew they were short an electrician and could not show up they should have called earlier in the day.

I Contacted Mr. Quik Electric just after 7AM today via an online service request submittal with a request for service today. I was called back by 7:30AM same day and the schedule was set for today. The lady who called back was very professional and courteous and scheduled me for the exact time I requested in my online request. Jason and Ken arrived per the agreed time, scoped out the various issues I found, provided me a written quote, and upon my acceptance, immediately went to work on the repairs. All was done very professionally and very quickly. Post completion, they showed me exactly what they had done so I had all of the details. Pricing was a little high, but the quickness of the service response and completion was well worth it.
Description of Work: Several issues were found with faulty wiring in my sub panel, some grounding problems, and some outlet problems. All quoted items were repaired.

There was something missing since Tim Ryan let the company. The person who came to my house seemed indifferent to giving me some ideas whereas Tim would have sketched out several options for me. I thought there estimate was plenty high and I sort of lost interest.

The electrician who came to the house was on time, was personable, and did the work that I agreed to. I'm left with a bad taste from this company only because, again, I'm mad that I let myself be an easy mark for a (probably) unnecessary and very expensive upsell. I'm using it as a lesson to take my time and educate myself whenever hiring anyone in the future, but I won't be using Mr. Quik again.
Description of Work: I feel embarrassed and I know I only got what I deserved from this experience. I asked Mr. Quik for an estimate on installing outlets in my basement. Mr. Quik deserves points for being very resposive in scheduling the estimate, and the electrician arrived on time and as scheduled. Instead of focusing on the estimate for the outlets that I requested, however, the electrician removed the cover to my breaker box, showed me some light discoloration, and advised me to install a new panel. I was rushed to get to work, felt pressured, and went against my instincts, but allowed him to install the new panel when he agreed to install the outlets for free. I'm sure I was talked into something I really didn't need and I'm also sure I paid far, far too much for it. I feel hosed and have regretted the decision ever since, although I really blame myself for not taking the time to think and do my homework.

Overall disappointed. The service tech who reset out toilet I believe did a good job. After removing the toilet he realized the flang and pvc pieces needed to be replaced. He had to run out to Lowes to get parts and came back and fixed this issue. While this was being addressed Mister Quick Rep looked over all our plumbing and heating and cooling items as well. He indicated after looking at our water heater that it would only last another 7-8 months. This obviously concerned us since the water heater was only 4 years old. He indicated would get a credit and could apply it toward a new water heater or tankless system. They provided us a quote for us to consider. We have noticed issues with our water heater not providing consistent hot water. We found another plumber on Angie's list who took a look at our heater and determined the issue was most like the Gas Thermostat. He was right. This piece was under warranty. He replaced it and we have been good ever since. Much cheaper to replace this part than spend potentially thousands of dollars on a new tankless system or water heater. In the end, we feel Mister Quick's approach is too get a service job and then try to sell the homeowner on additional items that are not necessary.
Description of Work: We called them to reset toilet that we believed was leaking and a little loose. They also sent out a sales rep/company rep to look over all our plumbing, heating and cooling as well.
