Called back following day to schedule estimate. Estimator Chris arrived 10 minutes early on the scheduled day. He emailed estimate within 24hrs, again ahead of the promised 48hrs! as of 10/18/16, awaiting for project to be scheduled. Tentative date mid-November. Updated review to follow!

The quoting process was fine, but decided to go with another contractor.

They get an A for the removal of the blacktop and the installation of the driveway. They get a D for the condition of the lawn and the house when they finished.

Poorly. I thought we were off to good start when I first contacted Mattingly. Even though I did not get a live person when I initiated contact with the company, I was able to leave a message and got a call back shortly and spoke with a very pleasant woman who took my information and worked hard to find a time that worked within my schedule to send someone out to measure the driveway and give us an estimate. The gentleman arrived on time and answered all my questions to the best of his ability and I was satisfied with our conversation. At that visit, he told me he would email an estimate to me with the next 2-3 days. To my knowledge, I never received the estimate by email but I will admit that I may have inadvertently deleted it or cleaned it out of my spam filed without realizing it. For that reason, after waiting 2 weeks, I called Mattingly back to see if we could figure out what went wrong and make arrangements to get the estimate. Again when contacting the company, I did not get a live person and left a voice mail to call me back. It is almost three days later, and I have not received a phone call back or received an email with the estimate. I have given up and will start searching for another company to replace the driveway.

Mattingly did a great job including cleaning up the area when they were done. They start early (7:30 am) and work through to completion each day. Very happy with the job they did!

It went really well. A Mattingly rep came to look at the job and hear what I wanted done. The estimate arrived within a few days and I called and agreed to the work and price as given. There were a few delays because of weather but I was always called and given a new date. Everything went well and the job was well done. I was disappointed when I went to pay the final bill and I presented an Angie's List coupon from the magazine and they would not accept it because I did not present it at the time of the contract's initiation. I was surprised because there were no instructions about when the coupon should be submitted, only that the job should be over $3,000 for the $100 coupon to be used.

Perfect -- could not have had better service. Mattingly guided us perfectly and saved us money as well. Love our new driveway!

We needed about 756 square feet of sidewalk around our church building replaced. Everything went well. The work was completed in a timely manner and we are pleased with the results. During the estimating and the decision making process, we had many questions and contacted Mattingly repeatedly for additional information. Chris Sargent always responded promptly and provided the needed information to help move the project forward.

They did a great job. I was particularly impressed by their communication with dealing with all the rain we had this spring.

Fence Sales guy did mention my fence would have to be taken down for the job. I asked the sales guy if they would put it back up and he said YES. Apparently verbal talks are not genuine compared to contract. Mattingly told me because they did not say in their contract what the sales guy told me, they don't have to put the fence back up. They took down 3 sections of my fence, put 1 section back up crooked and broken, left the other 2 sections on the ground torn apart and broken. I asked them to do the right thing to reimburse me for the cost of my fence replacement and instead had their lawyer write me a denial claim saying the contract gave them right to do pretty much anything to my fence to get the job done. The fence replacement was around $1100 for the part they damaged and I took photos of everything. Landscape Damage: The sales guy withheld a lot of key information. He did not mention my landscape would be just be GONE and look horrible after the job. I read the contract, which was very hard to understand and written very obscurely, that mentioned light tire tracks. What happened to my mulch areas, plants, grass, was like a tornado hit it. I had to scramble to find someone to do landscape repair. That was another $1200 out of my pocket to restore the landscape damage they had done. I submitted the claim to Mattingly and they hid behind their lawyer and general contract of how they can just damage your property to do the job however they need to. Concrete Splatter on Windows and Siding They left a lot of concrete splatter on my windows, window screens, and siding of the house. They did not clean up the mess. I bought a power washer and at 2000 psi spray my husband could not get the concrete splatter off the windows and siding. It still looks AWFUL. Project Debris and Cleanup I had to complain to get them out back at my house to clean up their tools, supplies, and debris they left. They had e-mailed me one day asking for the final payment so very eagerly and all I saw was a giant mess of debris, tools, their supplies, and project materials left on my property. I did get them to clean it up eventually. Drainage Pipe Location The contractor did not install the drainage exit (drain pipe buried under concrete) at a logical location. The logical location would had been to install the exit drain at the south side of the patio, instead they installed it on the northeastern side where water would spill out to my walkway and landscaping. I had to fix the situation by having the landscaper install and bury an underground pipe to have it drain on the south side of the patio. Additional $$ out of my pocket to fix the problem they left me.

Mattingly did their best to keep us informed about when they would come. Storms kept their schedule in flux during the time that we were set for work. They called us the night before the scheduled day to let us know that they would not start demolition until the next week since they didn't want to leave us with a muddy mess over the weekend. Once they did get started it was a very efficient operation. The tear down took part of 2 days especially since our walkway and stoop were not accessible to their bobcats and such and had to be dealt with by man power. The pouring was done in one evening. The weather again caused some problems for them, but the work was finished and they came to clean up the next day. We have some minor spots on our driveway due to the tarp they had to lay during the storm, but otherwise we are pleased with the new driveway and all. It looks good and its nice to have the cracks and tilting we had gone.

Everything went well. We have had many compliments on the look of the driveway.

They came out and did a great job! They were on time, polite and professional. They were very responsive to my needs.

They responded quickly and thoroughly, but the contract had some odd clauses in it. For example, they took no responsibility for any damage to landscaping. They also reserved the right to come and tear up the concrete if they were not paid. (Good luck if there is a snafu at the banks.) So we are looking for someone else to do the job.

The representatives were very friendly and knowledgeable. We even received a follow-up call. Unfortunately, a quote was never delivered and no further contact was received. After several weeks we followed up and learned a quote was never made. It was disappointing to learn we were disregarded as a potential customer. I had high hopes for a long term partnership with this company. We have been forced to look elsewhere.

Co. was very customer oriented and gave professional advice. They were prompt and on time for the work finished work was out standing price was very reasonable for work performed. When complete the area was cleaned of all debris.

Everyone was very professional and pleasant. The job actually started earlier than planned which was fine. It only took 3 days to remove, frame and replace the driveway (fairly good size). I was very impressed with the organization of the project. I am also pleased with the end result. We are getting many compliments from neighbors.

Fair estimate to completion, Mattingly was professional, prompt, and easy to deal with.

Our discussions about the work were detailed and Chris was knowledgeable. We were considering a stamped concrete design for the sidewalk, and went to their office to view samples. Everyone was helpful. When we decided to go ahead, we were sent a detailed 5-page contract for the work. While that was a surprise, the biggest surprise was that it had a line that said "Derogatory remarks OR REVIEWS made in private or public forms, ONLINE, or off will be considered slanderous." This really put us off, and we believe [and hope] that attitude may soon become illegal.

2/13/16 Update. Will Mattingly met with me to discuss options for resolution. Plans are in place. I will provide updated rating upon completion. Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience. July 27, 2015, Mattingly Concrete began the process of replacing my driveway. While they came recommended, I am a dissatisfied customer. They did not honor their estimate/contract. First, they did not pour a standard driveway pattern but etched a triangle up the middle. I was stunned and told the team leader that was not what I expected. No one had consulted me as is stated in their estimate/contract. Then within a month a 7?4? crack showed itself from the base right up the middle of this triangle. I took pictures and sent an email. On Sept 11 th Kameron Wall (Head of Decorative Work/Quality Control) did meet with me. His response was that it was a surface crack and cracks happen. He would keep an eye on it, and that any repair would make it look worse. I understand they have no warranty covering cracks. But there are preventative steps that can be taken to avoid them. After doing research on best practices, I again contacted Mattingly Concrete with my concern. On Oct 5 th Will Mattingly, Head of Operations, set an appointment for us to meet. He didn?t show up. I contacted him, and he apologized setting another time to meet. Again he didn?t show up. I have since read other reviews stating "no show" problems with Mattingly Concrete. When I call the office, I can?t get past the receptionist to speak to anyone nor are my calls or emails returned. When I stated that the contraction joints of this triangle are spaced 12 ft and not the 10 ft which are the industry standard and illustrated in their estimate/contract, no response. I believe the extended interval of the joint spacing induced the crack. Oct 20 th I went to their office and spoke with the receptionist, no response. On the rainy day of Oct 27 th I called believing someone would be in the office -Karen asked who was calling?.a give-away that someone was in the office. I couldn?t get past her to speak to anyone, and no returned call. I am beyond frustrated. There are actions that could be taken which would result in my satisfaction. My recommendation would be to use another company for your concrete projects.

They were exceptionally nice workmen. Quick to answer and old woman's questions. Hard working, straight to work, didn't goof around. My neighbors were all impressed, they have seen workmen work like that!

It was excellent. Job was completed on time. A very professional, on time company, and they did everything I requested.

This was a very difficult job that was done perfectly. Mattingly was there on schedule with polite and capable crew and their workmanship was excellent. Their price was very reasonable also.

1st day The tear out crew came in and tore out the old driveway and put in the forms and prepped. 2nd day they poured concrete and got everything 'finished'. 3rd day they tore out the forms and sealed the new drive. Each crew that came was very professional, nice and very quiet. No loud music. Just very nice professional people.
