Mattingly Concrete Inc

Had them pour a new driveway 3-4 years ago before the pandemic. Well over $10,000. The did it in two pours. 1st half of the pour stopped just after the lake you see in this picture. They either set the forms to far apart, didn't order enough concrete or enough concrete was not delivered. Either way it was their responsibility. Installers had to know when they tried to level it that this was a problem. I asked them about it as soon as the pour was done and was told this was within tolerance for level on concrete pours. I don't know what is or isn't correct. All I know is every time it rains a little I have lake in the drive and even when it is dry it is discolored compared to the surrounding concrete and sticks out like a sore thumb. 2nd picture is of the expansion joints over where they installed a new culvert. Other parts of the drive they did not disturb as much have not settled(cracked) as much. My opinion the sub base was not compacted as well as it should have or the cracks would not be this wide. Shout out to Mattingly Concrete for doing such a great job on my patios. I had a 30-yr old small patio with an old gas grill cemented into it. The grill was defunct, the patio was tipped toward the house, and the gas line was rotted. After I had the gas line cut off, Mattingly came in and in 3 days removed the old and transformed the space and built out an all new large patio at the back of my house. Thanks to Chris in sales for showing me my options and helping me find the sand matrix finish that gives a cool aged look to new concrete. Thanks to Matt for managing the project and being such a great communicator. And thanks to Scott an especially Nick for their can do attitude and the beautiful job they did cutting the expansion joints. And to the many others who formed and poured and still managed to minimize impact on my grass - a big thank you.

Unbelievably poor performance. Irregular stairs. Height variance of 2"s in 5 steps. Stairs hold water due to slope errors. Patios have pooling water due to poor grade construction. Pool equipment with concrete imbedded in cover motor. Billing for work not done. Overall very poor execution and worse customer service.

We tore up an asphalt driveway and got a concrete driveway. It was supposed to be stained concrete. They FORGOT the stain and poured a regular color concrete driveway. As a solution, they offered to seal it with a tinted sealer to give the effect of a color. They did so and it looked ok aside from the splatter of the sealer everywhere. 6 months later the sealer is peeling everywhere and looks terrible. After filing a warranty claim, the president of the company tells me I received a stained concrete and I must have applied a sealer on my own as he has no record of the tinted sealer. I assured him, I did not apply a tinted sealer on my own and in fact, the concrete was not died as we wanted it to be. And we received this as a solution, instead. The president has basically told me that I’m lying and he has no record of applying a tinted sealer. He has refused to get back to me with any solution. This was a $20,000 mistake. And I’m greatly disappointed.

Great! Weather was good so the project was begun early and finished on the original start date. Everyone involved from sales to finish were professional and talented.

David Ramos and his crew did a great job! David's communication before and throughout the project was outstanding! The crew did a meticulous job and installed my driveway as if it were their own! I would highly recommend Mattingly Concrete for your new driveway!

99% of driveways on Mattingly website show nice decorative edging, but for some reason we got the cheap, sidewalk/tract home type edging....we weren't given the choice between the two. When I asked why we didn't receive the nice edging like they show on their website, they responded saying 50% of all driveways they do get the cheap sidewalk type edging. I have yet to find another Mattingly driveway with edging similar to mine. They offered a minuscule $200 discount for this mistake. I'd like to see proof of the 50% statement. The new driveway is extremely uneven immediately adjacent to my garage floor and looks ridiculous...so bad, its noticeable to the naked eye. It drops down 1/2"+ in less than 2'. When I asked Mattingly about this error, they said it was my fault because my garage floor is not level however, my level indicates my garage is almost perfectly flat but their new concrete isn't close to being flat or level. They couldn't follow their own chalk line because the new concrete dips below and above the chalk line. Mattingly said this type of quality is their normal level of quality and expected payment in full. I paid Mattingly full payment and asked them to never come back!!

The project was remove and replace a 1400 square foot driveway. From start to finish, Mattingly performed the project with timeliness and professionalism. The crews arrived on schedule, were skilled at their tasks, and friendly and cooperative with me. The new driveway is beautiful and greatly improves the appearance of my home. Matt, the project manager was attentive and helpful planning and executing the project. He returned phone calls promptly. I would highly recommend Mattingly.

Don Mattingly was terrific in working with us on what we were doing as well as providing us with an acceptable estimate. Coordinator David Ramos was exceptional in updating our plan and working with his construction team. The construction team is incredible. They built our driveway as if it were their own. They worked together as if they were family. One, after a little instruction, encouraged me to smooth part of the driveway. Another said to me that they create art in what they do. The finished product was artwork. After two ten hour days, they removed the old driveway and installed the new. We are extremely pleased and would highly recommend Mattingly if you want concrete work done.

Very happy with the results. They walked us through the process, helped guide us with picking out a design and mapping out the patio. We ended up making changes to our initial design based on the samples were were able to see in person - which made the look of the finished product even better. We highly recommend them.

Mattingly's got back to us very quickly to let us know the job was too small for them. They did, however, recommend a vendor, Metzinger Construction, which we ultimately contracted for the job.

All the folks at Mattingly Concrete are professional and friendly. I was pleased to work with Will who gave me a clear and complete estimate, with Mark who personally oversaw the job, with the excavation crew who really know how to get rid of an old asphalt driveway, and then the concrete crew who were truly artists. The driveway looks beautiful and will obviously function for many years to come. The city of Carmel permitted us to remove the old rolled curb with a new one which allows us to arrive home without a jolt. I cannot recommend Matting Concrete enough. And I am sure my neighbors will call them with any concrete work they may need.

Great company ! Project supervisor kept me informed via phone,e mail & face to face regarding timing & all phases of the project. Workmen were punctual and polite. Work site was thoroughly cleaned following completion of of pouring and inspected by manager to determine compliance with contract. I am completely satisfied with the results and recommend them highly. the price was right,quality of work excellent and the finished product looks great. Pricing very fair--followup instructions regarding concrete maintenance much appreciated.

Disaster, vendor installed the patio while yard was extremely wet. Bobcat slid to the side and took out a row of marked sprinkler heads. They needed to lay down more boards for the bobcat or go a different way. Vendor has blown me off for months and I'm assuming not taking ownership for the damage. They don't return email or voice mail.

No one showed up for appointment or let me know that they would not be coming. Called several times to find out if someone would be coming after the scheduled appointment time and no one picked up phone. Highly unprofessional. Shown that they can't be trusted with a large project. Wasted my time off from work.

In over 40 years of hiring an assortment of contractors for all types of home and renovation projects Mattingly Concrete was by far the best I have ever hired. The purchase and selection process is clearly described on-line and was easy to follow. They accommodated installation using a less than perfect landscaping plan. Their process is clear. We were informed every step of the way but email and by phone. The process they described was the process they used. Their scheduling was as advertised and we started on the project the day it was planned despite 6 weeks of rain and challenging weather between the time we signed and the time we started. The pre-project meeting was helpful. Nathan -- the onsite project manager was in touch at least once and often twice a day throughout the project. On one day in particular he made a special trip to review something I was concerned about. The crews were professional. The project was in a narrow access area that impacted several of my neighbors. They all commented about the courteousness of all of the onsite workers as they had to move equipment and vehicles to allow entry and exit. The crews were also as quiet as a construction crew can be. Finally, the product turned out exactly as we requested and expected. Mattingly has my highest possible recommendation.
