+ -1 moreI called Mac's and they were able to schedule an appt. the same week. They came at the end of the day-at the end of the time frame they gave me to be there but still within it. They were eager to answer questions about how often to get the tanks drained/pumped and about whether the 500 gallon tank needed it or not. They answered questions about the best way to use the garbage disposal. The septic tank was easily accessible from our driveway. They worked quickly and left no trace that they were there.
Description of Work: They pumped out our 1200 gallon septic tank and checked the 500 gallon tank.

+ -1 moreMac's septic was recommended by my Gen'l Contractor who does other main drain cleaning for me. We had called 3 companies late Friday afternoon. The other two never called back. Mac's quoted a fixed price for pumping first 900 gallons plus extra per 100 gal which they stuck to. They arrived as scheduled SAt am, Did the work as promised at the price quoted. Even gave me a $10 discount for using Angies List and this good referral. Also, they arrived with 300 gallons on the truck which they did not need to disclose so the price quoted was what they actually pumped from my location. Also made an extra effort to pump not only the septic tank but the distribution box as well. Took my personal check. VERY HIGH RECOMMENDATION.

+ -1 moreLived in my house for 2 years. Been thinking about the septic and getting it cleaned out. Never did. Then yesterday, we had a problem with water backing up. Called MAC'S this morning first thing, they were out a little after lunch. When they arrived and lifted the lid, it was a MESS! But, Louie and Chris were able to get it cleaned out. After that, they put in an access point to clean my sewer line out which means no more digging the next time. They were able to clean out the line and get the water flowing again. All and all, they did a fantastic job! And super friendly, answering all of my questions and every thing. Will definitely be referring them to all my friends!
Description of Work: Septic pumped out. Cleaned the line form the house to the septic tank. Put in an access point to the line to make future cleanings easier. They will dig for you, but in my case I did all the digging before they came. (they said it saved me $50 or so.)

+ -1 moreArrived at my house within several hours of my phone call to the company. I was very pleased they were so responsive as the septic tank was full and I was concerned about sewage back up. After pumping all sewage out of the tank, he checked the plumbing system to make sure water was freely flowing into the tank and there were no draining problems.
Description of Work: Removed by shovel appx 3 ft.of dirt to get to septic tank lid. Pumped appx 1000 gallons out of tank.

They were pleasant to work with - we had to help each other find Septic tank whose location prior home owner had failed to disclose. Cost <$200 to pump septic tank. Remaining cost charged to digging access to old tank and installing surface access port. Use them every few years. Only charged pumping costs now. Very good company -would use again.

+ -1 moreIt was a dismally cold and rainy day. The ground was soggy and unspeakably disgusting stuff was coming up in our shower and bathtub. Mac's to the rescue... or so we thought. They came out and pumped the septic tank, which had been sadly neglected. It seemed that the problem was solved, but in two days the situation was just as grim and smelly as before. Mac's Septic Serviced responded quickly to my pitiful pleas for help. Two very nice guys, whose names I didn't get, ran a big auger of some kind back into the drain and put on a access pipe on the line between the septic tank and the house. Also proved was some strongly worded advice on maintaining a properly working septic system. Thank you, Mac's, we needed that!
Description of Work: On two occasions in the same week, Mac's cleaned, pumped and serviced our septic tank. The separate charges were $301 and $450.

Called ahead, showed up when they said, somehow managed to avoid killing my landscaping that was unfortunately sitting on top of my tank and undercharged me the estimate for digging up my my tank! They dug it up, installed a riser (which I suggest EVERYONE do), cleaned our septic and offered great future advice ta'boot! I will call again in about 3 years, per your suggestion! Thanks a lot!!

Description of Work: I called because I was having a problem w/water bubbling up in my toilet & tub which was causing drainage issues. Richard came out & located my septic tank & then pumped it out. When that still didn't fix the problem, they came out the next day to clean out the line from the house to the tank & installed a clean out.

Description of Work: My main line out to the tank was failing and letting septic grey water leak into my basement perimeter drain and sump. The pipe was buried under my concrete patio, so they had to cut a 2.5'x6' chunk out before excavating and replacing it.

+ -1 moreIn late 2007, the weather was not cooperative with frequent rain and saturated ground. The day before a major storm was due to hit, Louie came out and checked the ground and decided that it was dry enough to try to do work before the storm hit. Louie personally supervised and participated in the installation of the system. He even added additional members to the crew so that they could get the work done that day. He did not charge us extra for the additional crew members. The tree was trimmed correctly and the shrubs were removed. The company has a good working relationship with the Marion county inspector who arrived timely to approve the work before the crew could bury the system. Louie and the rest of the crew were professional and hard working. We appreciated having a single point of contact through the estimate, scheduling and the work itself. Louie also told us to contact him personally in the event of any problems subsequent to the installation.
Description of Work: Obtained Marion county permit, replaced distributor box and installed new finger system. Louie provided estimate of the work after we had excavated the distributor box for inspection. Other companies consulted said that we would need a lift pump which would have added significant additional expense. Louie took the time to figure out an alternative configuration to save us the expense of a lift pump. He detailed how to angle the fingers of the new configuration to meet existing code and noted the necessity of removing some shrubs and trimming the lower branches of a white pine tree. He detailed the placement of the gravel and stone fill that was necessary and the route across our yard that his crew would have to take. Louie informed us that it was not advisable to put in the system if the soil was too wet because it would compact the soil. He estimated that it might be possible to complete the project in one day. In short, Louie explained the entire process clearly.

+ 1 moreGreat! I called Mac's and had to leave a message, but received a call back very shortly. When I explained that the shower and toilet were not functioning and interior plumbing issues had been checked, they were able to send someone out within the hour. I did not know where the tank was, there was no visible cover, but they were able to find it in minutes. When the plumbing problems continued even after the septic tank was pumped, they were able to call another truck with a router which arrived almost immediately and they cleared roots and large clog from 25' in the outside line. They were very prompt, courteous, and professional. Prices were reasonable.
Description of Work: They located and cleaned out my septic tank and when inside plumbing problems weren't resolved, then identified and cleared out roots and a clog in an outside line.
