I really enjoyed them. They did a thorough job on the plans. They did a good job; now I just need to save up enough money to do the work. I thought the price was high for what they did. The plans are great.

Had Lifestyle out for a quote on a 1930's remodel of a master bath and bedroom. While we ended up going another direction for our remodel, they were seriously considered for the job. From the beginning, they were always very professional, punctual, and had an attentive interest in assist us in addressing our needs. After receiving the quote, Geoff spent over an hour on the phone with me talking through every detail of the quote and working with me on areas that I was possibly interested in cutting for cost savings. I was very impressed with them, and would consider using them in the future.
Description of Work: Did not end up hiring for the job.
The overall experience was very good. Everyone who works for the company, as well as the people they use for subcontractors, are skilled, very helpful and just generally nice people. I was given a schedule at the beginning of the project and they were able to stick to the schedule throughout the remodel. Their showroom is very helpful and convenient (as opposed to running all over town) when trying to make selections for cabinets, countertops, flooring, etc. The company is very quality driven and respond to any issues that come up. I had very few issues and the whole project was far less stressful than I had anticipated----I would have done this project much sooner if I had known then what I know now. If you are thinking of proceeding with a remodel, either big or small, definitely talk to Lifestyle before making a decision.
Description of Work: Lifestyle presented plans that incorporated my "wish list" as far as making a small dining room and small kitchen into one room increasing the storage and counter space significantly. The work included removal of a wall, installation of recessed lighting, new ceramic flooring in the entire space as well as a walkway thru the living room and into the utility room. New cabinets and granite was also done. In order to accomadate the new floor plan, electricity and plumbing was relocated.

This was my second time to hire the Lifestyle Group and once again the entire project from start to finish went very well. I hired them to do a complete remodel of my kitchen several years ago and it was a huge project (at least in my mind!) but I had such a great experience and they did everything I wanted within my budget, that I knew I would re-hire them again. First of all, Geoff is a tremendous person and professional. When he met me to look at my bathroom(s) remodel project, he knew I had a budget and he worked with me on how to best accomplish what I wanted for the amount of money that I could spend. Both he and Kiersten were easy to talk to and exchange ideas as the project was being mapped out. They knew that I wanted to stay within a certain budget and their pricing on construction, labor and materials (not to mention the quality of people they have working for them which is priceless in my mind) just didn't compare to other companies that I spoke to. Once the work began, the 'A' team of guys that they have working for them are simply the best! I have remodeled several homes in another state - and the Lifestyle guys are excellent craftsmen, very professional and they do quality work (they also clean up at the end of each day!:)) I really enjoyed having them at the house during the project. They would put up with me as I would ask questions in the middle of sawing or tiling....! Anyway, they have a great group who deserve high marks! I have recommended them to several of my neighbors and friends and will continue to do so. Geoff and Kiersten run an excellent business and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Earlier this year I contacted Lifestyle Group to get an estimate to remodel my master bath and kitchen. I went ahead with the master bath project which was completed in May 2010. I was happy with the results and wrote a review of that project. Recently I decided I wanted to do my kitchen project and intended to use Lifestyle Group again. I called and left a voice message on a Monday but when I did not get a return call, I clled again on a Thursday. This time I was able to speak with Goeff. I explained that I wanted to go forward with my kitchen project but because I was considering putting the house up for sale in the spring that I would like to try and reduce the cost of the project. He said he would review the original estimate and give me a call back. Goeff called me the next day and informed me that the original estimate was now $300 higher because of changes in materials costs. I was a little disappointed that the estimate had increased and asked that he send me the detailed breakdown of the costs - similar to what he gave me for the bathroom remodel project. Geoff asked if it would be okay if he waited until Monday to send the estimate and I agreed. I have never recieved the detailed estimate. Although Lifestyle Group's estimate for doing my kitchen was almost $2000 higher than two other estimates I got, I would have considered using them again if I had gotten the detailed estimate and some options for reducing costs were given me. I was very happy with the work they did in my master bath and tthought the job went reletively smoothly but I was very disappointed in the lack of interest Geoff showed in my kitchen project.
Description of Work: I got an estimate to replace the kitchen countertops with granite, replace the sik and faucet and add a tile backsplash.

Response from Lifestyle Group Residential Remodeling
This is a very frustrating report. As the client indicated, we did a prior remodel of her master bathroom and it went very well. The client did as we would hope and called us back... just like 364 other families who have used us multiple times in 11 years because we take care of our clients. At the time of her bathroom remodel, we also gave her a price for granite countertops in the kitchen per her request. We used an allowance number for the granite at that time knowing she had yet to make a selection and there are 21 tiers of pricing for various types of granites. Also, in that original price, we were also providing a new stainless steel good gauge undermount sink, a new Delta pull out sink faucet and a new 1/2 horsepower garbage disposal, plus the licensed plumber to install all of that and the removal of the existing countertops. When she called back recently to revisit the kitchen project, we revisited the pricing using the specific granite she used in the bathroom on her countertop (per her request). We then contacted our granite partners and got the price for the specific granite, which was $300 higher than the original allowance based on her selection. We are 100% certain without any doubt that she did not get the same thing from any other provider for $2,000 less. It just is not possible because we were using a very, very low mark up on the work based on the fact is was a small project for a past client who was placing the house up for sale. We priced it such that we could not price it lower. Maybe the competition used 3/4" granite... maybe they didn't provide and install a new stainless steel undermount sink, new sink faucet and new disposal... maybe they didn't use a licensed plumber like we do... maybe all of those are true for a $2,000 difference?? That is a big, big difference for such a small project. She did indicate to us that she wanted a lower price from me for what she selected and we just couldn't do any better. If she takes that as a lack of interest, then we are really, really sorry. We don't pass up any opportunity for work in this economic environment, however, we still have to make something on a project in order to remain in business and be here for the next client who is interested in our services. That fair price in these market conditions is much less than the remodeling margins charged years ago throughout the marketplace. I am fairly certain we would not have completed almost 2,500 projects over the years if our prices were not competitive. We believe this is a case where we wouldn't cut the price and she is just being nasty. Her comments are inaccurate. Never in 11 years have we given any client a copy of our detailed estimate for fear it would end up in the hands of our competition. We did not offer to do that for her, so that is one of several "inaccurate" assertions made in this client's report. We always break out options such as the cost of the sink, faucet and disposal if asked, which we were not asked to do in this case. We certainly apologize for any frustration she experienced. We would have loved to have done the work and we always bend over backwards for past clients where it is possible. Just read through our 248 or more reports on this site to gain a full perspective of the level of service our company provides clients. To earn an Angie's List Super Service Provider Award for 11 straight years when it is difficult to earn just one award in one year is more representative of our company's level of service than this report. We are not perfect, but we try very hard to be very good. If we make a mistake, we will admit to it. I've posted responses to reports over the years where I will tell you if we made a mistake. In this case, we did not.

Lifestyle was great to work with and their crew is wonderful. The guys cleaned up as they went, were always on time and there when they said they would be. Communication was terrific through out the whole process which was extremely important to us. Lifestyle started the project mid March and finished on schedule per their timeline. Any problems/concerns that came up were handled immediately and resulted in 100% satisfaction. We will always recommend Lifestyle for any project and would use them again in a heartbeat! We definitely chose the right company!!!

We called to get an estimate on the eze-breeze windows for our porch based on a referral from a co-worker. Geoff told us about them over the phone and came to give an estimate. We contracted for the work and were told it would take about 3 weeks to order and install. We could not be happier with the whole experience from start to finish. This is a very professional company and the windows are great! They were very timely and accurate with their estimates, and the installation is extremely professional. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. We will definitely use them in any remodel jobs we have in the future.

I called Lifestyle Group to come out and give me an estimate to repair a window ledge that had water damage. The woman that I originally talked to on the phone was very friendly, and the getleman who came out to look at the damage also seemed nice. He informed me that Lifestyle would contact me with work estimate and information regarding their schedule. Unfortunately, their company never called back with this information. I called their office to inquire about the estimate around a a week after the gentleman came out to view the damage. The woman on the phone said that she would pass along the message and that someone would get back with me. No one ever called me back, so after another week or so I contacted another company who promptly came out to view the damage and completed the work week later. Even though they were friendly over the phone, I feel that it is highly unprofessional not to return a customer's phone calls. I understand that the repair that I needed completed was not a large job. If they were not interested in the work, then I should have been contacted regarding this. I understand that companies can be very busy, but it only takes a few minutes to return a phone call. I gave their company more than a month to contact me before leaving this negative review. If I had heard back from them after the work had been completed, I would have told them that we went with another company and not left this negative review on Angie's List.

Response from Lifestyle Group Residential Remodeling
A return call was placed to the client on the afternoon of March 4th and we never heard back from the client in response to our voice mail message. This is actually an interesting example of how going above and beyond to help a potential client can sometimes be more harmful than beneficial to us as a company. We received a call from this client to replace a window sill at the end of February. It was a very, very, very small project... like less than $200 in total, but it involved a special order item that we needed a quote from the manufacturer on. Not only did we send our Construction Manager out to look at this in person, but we then placed multiple phone calls back and forth with the manufacturer trying to track down one piece of information. As you might expect, it was a challenge at each step in the process. Less than 4 hours from receiving the pricing information from the manufacturer, Kiersten had placed a call to this client and left a message with the information. Now, as a company, when we can add value to a client, we are happy to look at and complete small projects. We do them often, although this one was really small... it would have been our smallest project in about 6 years given the minimal work to be completed. But, nevertheless, we didn't say it wasn't worth our time. We offered to look at it and see if we could help. Regardless of this negative report, we will still be nice and try to help any prospective client that calls in for a small project. Even if it is something we might not be able to ultimately help you with in a cost effective way, we will always try to get you sent in the right direction and give you contacts to accomplish your project if it is something we aren't capable of doing.

I contacted this company by email through Angie's List. Geoffrey W. Horen responded in a timely manner to my email and we set a time for him to come and assess the job. He came to the house and was very polite and professional and so I felt at ease with giving the job to this company. We set a time for me to visit the showroom where I met with Mr. Horen, the CEO and Kiersten Morton, president of the company, to go over flooring, sink and toilet options. I appreciated their recommendations as I have had no experience with this type of repair/replacement. There were several options given, which is nice. They both seemed well versed in their areas and so I made my choices with their guidance and they ordered my selections and very soon after that we were able to schedule a two day period when the work could begin. There were two gentlemen who did the flooring work and a supervisor who came by who actually saved me money by suggesting that the subflooring damage was less extensive than I had thought (that NEVER happens in home repair). They were quick, efficient and polite. The second day of work the plumber came and put in the fixtures. He was also very polite and did his work well. This company does major repair/remodel work and my bath is very small, so I appreciated the time and attention they took with such a small job. I also appreciated the professionalism, efficiency and courtesy shown by everyone I dealt with. I would highly recommend them and would definitely contract with them for future work.

Wonderful!! They worked around our vacation schedule so the demolition could occur when we were gone. The workers came during the day while we were at work and there was little or no mess when we would return home each night. Process was seemless from start to finish. Having their own showroom with choices to select from was wonderful. Don't waste your time with other contractors and traveling around town to home centers picking stuff out and waiting for it to arrive. They kept us abreast of any delays in supplies arriving (only 1 item was delayed) and were still able to finish only 3 days beyond our original timeline. We had no idea of how much a complete remodel would cost- we assumed around 8K so this was a little more than we planned but so much worth it. We went from a 1950's bathroom to a 2010 spa room within the confines and space of a 1930's house. From a one sink,no storage, to double sinks, new tub- shower, and floor to ceiling cabinet storage-it is beautiful. Keep in mind they do not provide lighting but will install it. We ordered our own mirrors, hardware, and lighting which added another 1200 to our total bill - so about 14200K total to remodel. They use an email system for each job to keep you informed. Everytime an update is made to your project, you can set it up to notify you. Great way to track progress and communicate with team. Total remodel time took approx. 4 weeks. I will definitely use them again-next time kitchen.

I could never do enough justice in this report, to share how much we appreciate and praise the work that Lifestyle Group did for us. Given the situation that we were in with my husband having a brain inujury as a result of a terrible accident, Geoff and the rest of his team worked with my whole family to make sure that every task was accomplished for us, in a painless fashion. The team beacame like family to us all, and were especially patient with the many questions my husband would ask daily, often repetitively. They all showed great compassion for our situation. You could never ask for a better skilled, and more compassionate group of professionals! I would definitely recommend Lifestyle Group for any project you may have, and I plan to use them again in the future!
Description of Work: Needed to remodel 4yr old home to make more accessable and liveable for my handicap spouse. This remodel included many areas of our new home. The bathroom remodel involved 5 bathrooms, including the master shower. We needed to add grab bars to all toilet areas as well as shower area and jacuzzi tub area. My goal was to find a more "decorative" type grab bar vs. the "institutional" type. Lifestyle group worked and worked to find the right match, while also finding one that would be available in both the Oil Rubbed Bronze fininsh and Polished Chrome finish to match the existing hardware in each of the different bathrooms. To make the grab bars as secure as possible to support my husband's weight, they constructed a wood trim to attach to each stud for the extra stability, and stained it with a decorative finished edge as well. They were able to accomplish exactly what I was looking for! The kitchen remodel involved the addition of a step at the bottom of our breakfast bar, to allow my husband the ability to get up onto the counter-height chairs. This was not an easy task as our breakfast bar has about 5 angles to it, and also an unusual finish to the wood. Lifestyle group was able to match every seam of the existing woodwork, as well as match the finish, to get the finished product to look as if it was built with the original breakfast bar. It looks awesome! We also needed an additional bannister added to both the Main Entry stairwell, and kitchen stairwell. This also was a difficult task as each of those walls are curved and the existing bannisters were fabricated to match the curve of the walls. This involved matching the existing wood, (which was done in about 8 layers), then setting up a mold with about 15 clamps at the baseboard of the walls to form the curve of the wall. Again, the finished project is beautiful, and you would not be able to tell which was the original one. Basement remodel involved transforming a bedroom into a workout room. This involved tearing out the existing carpet, and replacing it with the rubber "gym style" mat flooring. They also added mirrors to the walls, like a workout facility, to enhance our workout experience. Another job well done!! We also needed additional bannisters made and grab bars installed in our garage, to allow an easier/safer access for my husband. Again, their experts worked to match the exiting woodwork to accomplish this task as well. Their plumber got called into the picture when we had water coming thru the basement ceiling, and me frantic. While this had nothing to do with their remodeling work, the were there to help on the spot to get the leak stopped, and then find the cause and get it all repaired without any major damage to the bar/pool area of the finished basement below.

This is our third project with Lifestyle Group. Like the other two before it, we are impressed with the quality of workmanship, the attention to detail, and the service provided to us by the Lifestyle Group. You couldn't find a more responsive remodeler. Whenever we remodel in the future---and we do so every 3 years---we will use Lifestyle Group!
Description of Work: Lifestyle Group remodeled our existing screened-in porch, making it a three season porch. They helped us plan the project and bring it within budget. Then they re-framied the porch, replaced rotted knee walls and supports, took out a concrete step that was no longer needed, painted the porch, installed E-Z Breeze windows and door, and installed carpet. They were able to assist us in selecting paint color and carpet color.

From the first phone call when Becky answered the phone, we found The Lifestyle Group staff to be very professional, courteous and friendly. Geoff and Kiersten, two of the owners, were involved in the project and offered some great construction and product suggestions. The construction manager and crew were on time and very considerate of our home and property. Our neighbors gave us lots of positive feedback on the work.
Description of Work: The Lifestyle Group replaced some siding, soffits, removed an interior platform and concrete steps and replaced with wooden steps, installed a hand rail and replaced a door.
The Lifestyle group was patient in the beginning as we worked with them long distance from Denver. They were very specific in documenting their plans and proposals. As the work started, it moved pretty much on schedule and the ultimate move in date was met. They were quite accurate around remaining to do's as the work progressed. They were easy to work with and quite professional. Their employess were experienced and nice to be around. Important, because we spent a lot of time with them. The quality of the work was very good. We felt comfortable with them in our home with or without us being there.
Description of Work: We purchased a home after returning back to Indianapolis. We wanted to make changes to the home including such areas as the kitchen, hearth room and lower level. We removed and replaced the kitchen and a fireplace on the main level. We also change the flooring out in the lower level and refaced a fireplace on that level. In addition, we repainted some areas and replaced fixtures throughout the house. Some exterior work was completed based on our inspection report.

The project went very well. All segments of the project were completed in a timely fashion, with a minimum of inconvenience to our family. Lifestyle Group helped tranform a dreary space into a bright, cheery guest room and a great playroom for the grandkids. They were attentive to our schedule and were quick to respond for any touch-ups. I would certainly use them again

Excellent. Extremely professional plumber/contractor. Overly considerate in clean up and perfection with the installs. We appreciated the visit just to measure so all material fit like a glove. We highly recommend to friends and family. Geoff Horen and his company are professional and experts in their field of business. Many thanks to Lifestyle Group! Mike & Rita Tapp

They were very professional. They seemed to know what they were doing. They took notes. They had good suggestions for changes. I would use their service in the future.
