Knox Septic Sewer Service

.I called this provider because of their good rating in Angie's List. Our septic tank was overflowing. I was afraid the system was failing. Instead of rushing to install a new system and billing me for $10,000 they recommended that we pump it, install a riser, and watch it for a while. The cost was $500.00. In a few weeks it was again overflowing. I called them again. They again responded promptly, came to the house, and explained our options from least expensive to most expensive. The next step was to do some digging and determine the condition of the system. Arrangements were made to do this within a few days. They arranged for the utility companies to come out and mark all their lines. They dug up the system and determined that it was salvageable, with some repairs. Again I appreciated their willingness to do the minimum amount necessary to fix the problem. It has been about a month since the repairs were done and so far we have had no problems. I hope I never have another septic problem, but if I do I will call Knox.

I called to see if septic could be pumped soon as I had experienced a blockage and while it was again flowing, I knew it had not been pumped in 10+ years. Cold weather had just hit with predictions of snow. We tentatively scheduled for between 11 & 2:00 the next day (weather permitting). Next morning I missed their initial call at 10:30 and was afraid they would not show, but at just a little after 11:00 they were here! Hooked up in just a minute (I have easy access and knew where the lid was). The sludge was thicker than it should have been, but their pump was able to handle it and we were finished in 15 minutes or so (normally an 8 minute pump per Knox). We had agreed on a price of $195 beforehand on the phone (1st 1000), but I was afraid it would be higher due to thickness. We talked about the system, etc., past experiences with the septic. As an invoice was written I asked how much to make payment for and was told it would be $185 with the Angie's list discount. It was very cold out and I asked the guy to come in out of the cold, but he politely refused saying he was dirty. I knew about the Angie's list discount but did NOT mention it to them, though in conversing outside I did mention joining so as to get reviews. To their credit, they gave me the discount. Not much, but appreciated, none the less. Sometimes you just can't beat an honest 'mom & pop' business.

They are very easy to work with and will make an effort to come out as quickly as they can. They are reasonably priced .

Daryll showed up right on time with his partner and got right to work. I had to schedule during the day so I needed to take my lunch break to meet them at my house. It takes me 20 minutes to get home from work and I only ended up being gone for an hour and 10 minutes. They were super fast He gave me several suggestions on how I could better utilize my tank. They were extremely pleasant and will always be my first phone call anytime I have septic issues

They called ahead to say when they would arrive. Very nice and it only took about 15 minutes to empty my septic tank . I would definitely use them again.

Called them on a Saturday and left a message as they listed Saturday hours. Received a call back that day (!!!) and because it was not an emergency, set up a time on Monday for them to come to the property. Monday morning I got a call that they needed to come earlier than planned and they were willing to do the service without me present. It is almost unheard of that someone will come earlier than planned, and it was refreshing to work with a business who communicates well-- returns phone calls, updates plans.

They were great! The crew did arrive a bit early but took initiative, located our tank, and began their work. Friendly, professional, and very helpful. This is a class act! Thanks guys! I'm not experienced in septic clean out, this is my first time so my review is based on my perception...

Jim Knox was great to work with, responsive and does good work at a reasonable price. Of course, they had to dig up the yard to install run lines from the house to sewer. The yard was left in good condition. I did have one minor plumbing issue that I encoutered a year after the work was complete. I called Jim on a Saturday (again, a year after the work was performed) to report the problem and he was there the following Monday to fix the problem at no charge. I would highly recommend Knox to anyone that requires this type of work.

Daryl Knox scheduled a convenient time very quickly after I contact him. He and another employee arrived on time and got right to work. I had already uncovered a portion of the septic tank (to confirm its location) so they uncovered a bit more to find the cap and got to work pumping. The tank was located far from the driveway, but they had plenty of tubing length to reach it. They pumped it out quickly, keeping the vaccuum hose at the bottom of the tank to reach the sludge, gave me a clear assessment of the system, checked to ensure water was reaching it by having me flush the toilet, and gave me some basic instructions on how to keep it operating and when next to pump (2-3 years). They then helped me fill the dirt back in over the tank (though I said I would do this on my own) and did not charge me a digging fee. I was very pleased with their service, it was quick, clean, and thorough.

very positive experience. Daryl was very informative. He took the time to show me features of the system and what to look for if we had problems. Flow was less than optimal from house to tank which he said the line could be cleaned out if we had any problems. He gave me the name of a good company to call if we needed to get that done. Great job, punctual and professional. Highly recommend this company.

I contacted Knox Septic Sewer Service at the recommendation of the home inspection I was hiring for a potential home purchase. The home inspection company does not do septic inspections and referred me to Jim Knox. Jim made arrangesment to come out on Saturday to complete the inspection since I was on a tight timeframe to get this and the home inspection completed. After a thorough inspection and showing me what he looks for to determine the septic is functioning, Jim provided a clear explanation and documentation that the septic was not functioning properly nor meeting current code. This information assisted in the decision to not move forward with purchasing the home as the seller was not willing to work with me on repairs and this could be potentially costly for me in the future. I put in offer on another home in the same neighborhood and hired Knox to complete this inspection and for different reasons the system at this home failed to function correctly as well. Jim explained many factors including soil quality, previous repairs to the the system and other items could affect the functionality of a septic system. Knox Septic Sewer Service is known throughout Indianapolis and surrounding cities for being the best of the best. They are on the health departments list of approved companies for meeting code requirement. Jim was honest and clear in communicating what he saw in the inspection report. I would hightly recommend this company

We were at first satisfied until my husband learned that they pumped 1300 out of a 1000 tank. We had wanted Mr. Knox to come and and explain about the sending unit and the difference in the tank amount. My husband does not hear well on the phone well and I asked Mr. Knox to stop by. I apologized to Mr. Knox for having to make the trip, but we would like closure on his matter

I checked a couple of places and they met my needs. I picked them because they met my needs: timing and budget. They fit me in their schedule quickly which was very important.

They had to poke around a bit to find the septic cover as I don't believe the tank had been emptied in several years and had no knowledge of its location. Contacted Knox septic Sat via Angie's list and was contacted back within the day. Daryl called Monday morning to schedule the service. He and his son came hours later and pumped 1200 gallons. I bought the house only 8 months prior and am new to septic systems. Daryl took his time to show and explain to me how the septic works and the proper maintenance. Will use them again in the future!

Overall, we had a very positive experience with Knox Septic Service. We scheduled them to come out on a Saturday because we both work late on the weekdays. There was no additional cost for this weekend service which pleased us. The original scheduled time was between 9-11 AM. We got a call right around 11 AM to inform us that they would be there in a half hour which was okay with us. They were very polite, courteous, and professional when they arrived. They had to dig a bit to find the septic tank cover but were very conscientious of our lawn. The owner personally was on the job, and we were very pleased with his honesty. He informed us that our septic system looked good and that our finger system was also working well. He also informed us that we did not need to purchase additional bacterial products to keep our septic running well. This was refreshing because other septic companies always wanted to sell us a product to dump down our drains to maintain our septic system. Although the co-worker that was with him suggested we investigate the idea of purchasing a riser for our septic tank cover, the owner of the company adamantly said that we did not need to spend the money on it because our system was working well and, consequently, did not warrant this added expense. Again, this honesty was refreshing. We would use Knox Septic again and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

These guys are great they came out on the 4th of July and helped us out w no overtime or additional charges. Highly recommend. Extremely prompt and they even call u back after office hours could not be happier.

It had been a long time since we had the septic pumped. The only problem was getting the lid off. They were persistent and returned the lid to the tan after done. I was pleased with their friendliness and they answered all my questions. They called ahead of when they would be here and were here on time. The price was reasonable.

They were fast, efficient, polite. They were careful in my drive with my bushes. The price was very fair.

They were on time and called in advance so I knew they would be as well. They came within a week of me calling them (and would have been sooner had I not been out of town). Once they arrived, the entire service took only ~10 minutes. They were friendly and got straight to work. Also, I was able to ask several questions and they were knowledgeable and encouraged me to ask any questions I had. Overall, they were friendly, efficient and competitively priced relative to others I considered. I will be using them in the future!
