Their crew showed on time and went immediately to work. This was a difficult project, however they dealt with each obstacle and informed me at each turn, before taking any action.

I called at 8pm at night and they came out the next day. It was awesome! They were quick and got the job done. I would use them again.

They arrived on time and were great about explaining what they were doing and the condition of our system. This was great given that we just moved in and received no information about our septic system from the seller. We will be using them again in the future for anything we need regarding our septic system.

Someone answered the phone each time. No message machines like several other companies I called. They told me how to get the lid off to check the levels and found I was right on time for a pump out. They arrived with a 3 man crew and had the 1000 gallon tank pumped in about 20 minutes.

Made decision to run new electric service with third party provider and replace pump. Came back two days later, removed old pump, installed new pump and appears to be working well at this time. Knox family knows the septic game inside and out and explain everything very clearly. In addition, they are prompt, courteous and don't sell you on unnecessary products, services or otherwise. Would recommend to others.

They were on time, called beforehand to say they were on their way. Did a fast, professional job and even cleaned up the grass afterward. We had been having any problems with the septic tank but it had been about six years since we'd had it pumped out and I did not want to wait until we did have problems. They pumped out 800-900 gallons. I will certainly call them again next time!

Mr. Knox arrived at the stated time and dove right into his work. He was professional, and took the time to explain the process as he went along, making sure that I understood what he was looking at, why he was examining the item, and what various things he found indicated. Initially, he opened the septic tank cover and found evidence that the tank had overfilled through the riser and to the cap. He then added dye to the system while water was running from two sources in the house. While giving the dye time to work its way through the system, he started probing the leach field fingers with a metal rod...he found several clean dry fingers, and found one that was packed with sludge...following the sludge-filled finger, he found sludge that had leached to the surface and formed a puddle part way into the wooded area of the property. Mr. Knox explained the situation not only to myself, but to the existing homeowner as well, making sure she understood not only the ramifications of his findings, but the possible options for correcting the issue. Mr. Knox was also happy to spend a fair amount of time on the phone with me in several phone calls after the inspection answering questions about possible and recommended courses of action regarding the failed system. Because the septic system failed the inspection and the homeowners weren't willing to correct the issue to our satisfaction, we ended up passing on the home. While it wasn't the truth we wanted to hear, it was the truth we needed to make an informed decision and likely save tens of thousands of dollars in the long run. I would strongly urge anyone considering buying a home on a septic to have the entire septic system inspected as a condition of their purchase of the home (we had friends get hit with a bill of nearly $20,000 to replace a system they didn't inspect just a year after they moved in); I could not recommend Jim Knox highly enough as the appropriate person to perform such an inspection. His knowledge, experience, and guidance are easily worth every penny and more. I would not hesitate to call Mr. Knox the next time I need a septic inspection.

The Knox brothers installed a new septic tank in a different location than our old one. Our backyard had become prone to flooding during very heavy rainstorms and since the fingers to our septic system were in the backyard, this meant that septic tank water would back up into our basement (yuk!). I thought relocating our septic tank to a higher location would solve that problem. Jim Knox listened to my idea and came up with a way to make it work. They worked with us to make sure we knew what would happen and what to expect when we agreed on the location of the new tank. Since there were trees involved in the work area they were clear that one of them might not survive since the root system would be severely damaged. While I hated to potentially lose a tree, I would rather know up front that it could happen so I could select which tree would be impacted. This process was both messy and time consuming but they did their best to minimized the impact to our yard. They did a great job and this did solve our flooding basement problem. They gave me a fair price for the work performed and when a problem arose during the installation, they worked with me on the price of the additional work. I would definitely use them again and do not hesitate to recommend them if you need a new septic tank installed. The only thing I would mention is that you should be prepared for settling where the old tank was deactivated and the new tank is installed. You may have to do additional leveling work to the yard once the dirt has settled.

It went very well. They did a professional evaluation of the cover of it. I was in the process of buying the house and I needed to know if the owner would need to repair it or make larger repairs to the septic system before I bought it, if he was going to be responsible to do that. I would use them again. He was excellent.

Called for a quote. Man in office said he would have one of his brothers come out next week to provide an estimate. Never received a call back from them and no one came out.

Knox showed up when they said they would. They were friendly, went right to work, and didn't charge an extra $10 or so they could have charged. I have used Knox before (but didn't remember) and had an equally as pleasant experience the first time. So, we are two for two.

They came when they were supposed to. Very business like.

After Norris septic (separate review) had been a no show, costing me over a half day of work, I called Knox to see if they could help. They were able to schedule me for the next morning. Know arrived on time and went straight to work. The men got the job done quickly and left no trace they had ever been there. (Much appreciated)

I just called this morning and they were here today. They called 20 minutes before they got here and gave me a $10. discount for being an Angie's List member. They were very cooperative and nice.

overall it was great......have had no more problems....He explained to me that if it had gotten much fuller, I could have had to replace the finger system. So, I will now pay more attention to the septic tank and have it done every 2 years as he recommended.

Jim Knox came out the day after I called to look at the job, and the job was completed the following day. They were very responsive and specific in what needed to be done. This is the second time I have used them, and I am very pleased with their work.

One was at a rental property adjacent to our residence and they damaged the gas line while probing for the tank. My daughter actually warned them that they were not in the right area and the one employee continued probing and damaged the gas line in about 3-4 areas. That required an emergency visit from the gas company and a backhoe with a $1200 additional bill from the gas company. It took a few months, but Knox did reimburse us the charges via their bond.

Went pretty smoothly...they had to add water to break through the sludge from the previous neglectful owners...The whole process took a couple hours! They said the septic was badly neglected. All in all they fixed the problem and were really nice in the process!

They were very professional in giving the price and options for making the repair. They had to excavate the lawn and repair a broken sewer line. They took care of all the permits. They did a very good job and went out of their way to keep us from spending more than necessary.

We were fairly sure our septic system needed to be pumped and had used Knox a few years ago.However, being members of Angie's List, we wanted to ensure they were a member and also to read their reviews since that time. We were happy they were members and had an A rating. We contacted late one afternoon to set up an appointment the following morning. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time and even had to dig to locate the system. They were careful in digging (appreciated), located and pumped our tank empty. This is a family owned business and one member of the family was with the crew. He also gave us some helpful hints in how to care for our septic system. When they were finished they even placed back the dirt over the hole. We were pleased with everything (again) and will definitely use if needed in the future.

I called to have our septic tank drained on Tuesday morning. Knox worked us in on that day, as we were expecting heavy rainfall that night. They pumped our tank, and suggested we add a riser, which we did the next day. The price seemed fair and all the gentlemen I dealt with, both on the phone and in person, were well-educated in their field and professional. I received possible solutions, with price estimates, on any problems we might have in the future. I would use this company in the future.

All of our drains -- including toilets, bathtub, shower stall and washing machine -- suddenly began overflowing and the water was pretty nasty. This occurred on Sunday and I left a phone message with the company that afternoon. I was surprised to receive a return phone call from Ronald Knox a few hours later and he scheduled a service call for the following day. On Monday the work crew was late arriving, but phoned me ahead of time to inform me of a minor schedule change. When they arrived, they worked promptly and neatly. Best of fall, they answered my numerous questions about septic systems and provided plenty of helpful information that will aid us in the future. They were extremely courteous and we were happy with the price. We will definitely use them again in the future for our septic needs.
