I am completely satisified with the day. When I need a home inspection, I will call John Kidwell and would advise your readers to do the same.

A+ grade. would definitely recommend. After working to find times within our schedules to perform the inspection and ending the call, my wife informed me that she would like to be present at the inspection and the scheduled time didn't work for her. I called John back and he was very accommodating. In the end, John's flexibility allowed us to schedule the inspection for the next day which was a Sunday. (We did schedule around the Colts game, but that was fair enough.) John was early and started before we arrived at the scheduled time. He took his time to point out concerns and items that need to be addressed in terms that my wife and I would understand. He was personable and not only knowledgeable about housing and construction, but also college and professional football - heh, it's nice to work with someone you'd like to have a beer with. The delivered report was very thorough and made negotiations with the seller a much more painless process than I had anticipated. I gave Kidwell Inspections all high scores with a 'B' for pricing. The price came in a little higher than we had anticipated but I believe that was due to the size of the house compared to the standard quoted rates I found online. So really, that may be our poor research more than a problem with pricing. Expectations could have been set up front though. In the end, I believe the value for pricing was very good and will rest well knowing that John uncovered some shock/electrical risks that we were able to address before they could have harmed my family.

I contacted John Kidwell on Monday, October 15 and asked if he could conduct an inspection of my deceased mother's house as soon as possible. He was able to schedule an appointment for the following morning. He arrived on time, inspected the home extensively and provided me the written inspection report less than 24 hours after that. The report was complete with not only findings and recommendations but plenty of photographs as well, to fully explain any and all of the issues he found. Mr. Kidwell was very nice on the phone (as I was calling from 2,500 miles away), prompt in his assessments and very knowledgeable. I was very happy to have found him on Angie's List and will definitely recommend him to my friends. If I ever am in need of another inspection, I will most certainly hire Mr. Kidwell and Kidwell Home Inspection for the job!! Very satisfied!

He performed two home inspections for my son and the first inspection revealed that this beautiful home has some major issues and based on his inspection report, my son decided not to purchase the home. For the second inspection, we spent four hours with him at the home. He did a thorough inspection and the inspection report was absolutely clean. Without John’s help, it wouldn't have happened. We thoroughly trust his judgment.

Relying on an Angie's List referral we had Mr. Kidwell inspect our home a couple of years ago as we began thinking of downsizing and wanted to identify any problems that needs to be corrected before we listed the home. We were so please with his thorough work and his corteous manner that this spring we hired him to inspecta house on which we had made an offer. He was able to schedule the new inspection within 48 hours of our call. He spent three hours with us, going over every detail and every system inside and out--even the trees on the groups--noticing things we had not even noticed (for instance some missing window screens and advising us about building code changes that had been made since this house was built and what few things were different enough from a safety perspective that we should ask to have them brought up to current code. We felt quite confident about our decision to buy this house after this inspection. Now, almost six months later, we arefortably ensconced in our new home and completely satisfied that the inspection was accurate and complete.

Can't say enough good about John. Professional, thorough, honest, and a nice guy. He did two inspections for us. Not only is he well trained and 'by the book', he also knows a lot about construction, which is very helpful. Highly recommended.

John was extremely accommodating with our schedule, and was able to be out in a matter of days. He completed the work on Thursday afternoon, and had a 20+ page .PDF in my email inbox by Saturday. There was even a supplemental email that contained helpful tips around the home. With his help we were able to find things which needed fixed, and the sellers have agreed to fix them. It's the best money we've spent so far in our first home-buying process. We will definitely be recommending him to any of our friends or family planning to purchase homes in the future.

Mr. Kidwell did a wonderful job. He was very thorough on the inspection and was able to save us $4,000 in house repairs upon moving in.

When I called John he was able to fit me in right away, which was great since we are trying to get everything done as fast as possible to move into our new house. John was sent to us by a reference however I wanted to make sure I selected someone many people have had success with so I purchased a Angie List membership. When I saw John had a great historical rating I was sure he was who I was going with. After talking to John he informed me he lives in the same neighborhood which was very helpful in him not only doing a very detailed inspection but was able to tell the history of the house and neighborhood.

I called John to set up a day and time to go through a home inspection. He was very open with his schedule and was able to meet after work on a weekday for the inspection. He walked my girlfriend and I through the whole inspection process (about 2.5 hours), pointing out the good and bad things throughout. Knowing that we are first time home owners, John also gave us several homeowner tips throughout the inspection process. After the inspection, John processed all of his notes and photos into his official report and emailed it to us the next day. Overall, we were very satisfied with John's work and would do business with him again.

Outstanding. John went room by room carefully inspecting the home. He had no qualms about getting dirty and crawling around. He also brought a very large ladder so he could inspect the roof. Over the course of the inspection, which lasted a solid 8 hours (not to mention a follow up visit), John uncovered many more things than we ever could have discovered. As a result, we were able to present the home seller with a list of items that needed to be addressed. Over the long run, this will no doubt help save us money and headaches. John is top notch.

Mr. Kidwell arrived to the home on time (actually, early) and got right to work on the inspection. When I arrived, he had already done several things he needed to do for the inspection. He was very thorough when inspecting this 43 year old house. John explained everything he saw and allowed me to look at the problem areas as well. John's inspection report was extremely thorough and 100% objective. 57 pages long with full-color photos. He even included a separate PDF containing all the photos he took, not just the ones he included int he report. We also got that report the same day as the inspection. We were happy with the whole process, and the price was certainly fair. The report allowed us to negotiate the cost of the house even further and we came to an agreement with the sellers and are purchasing the home.

John was very thorough and spent 3+ hours going through the 37 year old house I'm purchasing. He was very helpful with different suggestions and gave me solid input throughout the process. I was impressed with the quick turn around of the report and the detail it contained.

John Kidwell did a wonderful inspection of the house we ended up buying. His report was exceptionally thorough and I highly recommend him for anyone needing an inspection on a house. He was quick to respond and answered all of my questions thoroughly when the house had issues that needed further evaluation.

John was a little late, but called to let us know that he was running behind, and he still arrived within 5 minutes of our appointment time. He was very thorough-- we spent about 4 hours in the house total. He checked everything from the creek and the shed out back, to every inch of the inside of the house. When he found points of concern, he took time to explain to us what the issue was, and explained how it could be remediated. He even helped us up to the roof to see the water damage he found for ourselves. He documented every part of the inspection fully, and all of those pictures appeared in a thorough and exhaustive inspection report. He was personable, explained how his tools worked (He demonstrated the heat gun, for example, for finding air leaks and water leaks- and even let us play with it. Which was a bonus, for sure!) He wore booties inside the house at all times. He ran a full cycle on the washer and dryer, and checked all the other appliances for functionality as well. It was a very thorough inspection. Even though he was barely late at all, he applied a $10.00 discount to our bill on his own, totally unexpected. We would recommend him without hesitation!

All the lights were turned off, etc. when he left the home. The home was not occupied so we didn't get over to check it right away. We appreciated the doors being locked, windows locked, etc He's such a professional.

Mr. Kidwell arrived at the appointed time. The house was inspected over a three to four hour period . All areas of the house were inspected in great detail from crawlspace to roof and I was given suggestions on various repair possibilities. As promised, a detailed report was recieved two days later that included photographs of some things he found that needed repair. Everything went smoothly and the price was exceptional. I have owned several homes and have had several inspectors and by far Kidwell was the best.

John was very thorough, and he gave us lots of great information regarding home maintenance. He was prompt, and I would recommend him to others.

They did well. The gentleman who helped us was very thorough, and he was able to indentify a few small issues. This helped us from having to spend extra money on repairs once we moved into our home. .

John was very good. He seemed knowledgeable, and he offered good suggestions. I think he was very honest and upfront.

John is a superb inspector. He is extremely thorough and takes the time to inform you about your house. He will teach you how to maintain the house as you walk through with him. He also is great about putting problems in perspective and helping to sort out small issues from large issues. He is a professional and a really nice guy. (I didn't have a car when I was buying a home and John dropped me off where I needed to be after each inspection). I heartily recommend John.
