When we called John he was able to come out within the week. He was on time and very pleasant to work with. He inspected our home from top to bottom--crawl space, basement, attic. He also inspected the outside. John took pictures as he went. He found a leak in the crawl space that was coming from our guest bathroom's shower--we had no idea that was occurring. He checked the furnace, etc in the mechanical room. We received an e-mail report the next day (42 pages with pictures!). We also received by mail a detailed report in a binder--along with a book about maintaining our home. Very professional!

First of all, I mentioned that I found him on Angie's List and asked about the coupon. He was glad to offer a discount for the published value. No need to print it out or tell him ahead of time like some other contractors. Inspection went very well. I was amazed that the level of detail that his inspection included. I am no dummy around the house, but he thought of and found things that never occurred to me. Secondly, I followed him around during the inspection and the entire time he was giving advice on home maintenance and repairs. I thought it was nice because he did not have to do that. He did not cut any corners even when presented with the opportunity. If I ever need a home inspector again, Kidwell will be my choice. I was never left satisfied after a home inspection until now. Provided detailed Adobe PDF of inspection next day and then sent a hard copy with a binder within a week.

John was on time, was very friendly and seemed quite knowledgeable. Besides reviewing the inspection after he was finished, he e-mailed a report and also sent a binder with the results, including pictures, and an evaluation of what was most important.

Very well. He look pictures as he went, then showed them to me. He also explained a lot of things that he saw and gave some good advice as to what to do. He then sent an email report followed by a paper report, including the photos.

John was very professional and easy to deal with. He did not try to up sell other services and still had the lowest bid on a general inspection. He took digital photos of everything and welcomed our input at the inspection. The binder he put together was comprehensive and much more detailed than any we have seen previously. He answered some follow-up questions completely and quickly and even emailed me some of the beautiful exterior photos that he shot.

We hired Mr. Kidwell to perform whole house inspection and radon test on a newly constructed house. He was able to perform the inspection on the day and time requested. He was very thorough in his inspection and provided an immediate email with the report, followed by a binder in the mail with all of the information. Our radon levels were high and he advised us as to the methods available for ventilation that companies use to decrease the dangerous level to an acceptable one. He was very kind and respectful. We found him through a search on Angie's List and are extremely satisfied.

A thorough inspection was done on the home we were purchasing. We were very impressed by the timely manner with which the whole process was handled. Not only were they able to e-mail a PDF file with all of the information, we also received a binder in the mail with the pictures and all information as well. Mr. Kidwell was very thorough when inspecting our home. He ran all the appliances and was very detailed in his report. I received a PDF file of the inspection within 48 hours and within 5 days I received a Priority Mail package with a very nice and organized binder that included the very extensive report with pictures. He gave us some really great advice for maintaining and servicing certain aspects of our home. We didn't really receive the Angie's List discount but he included a Termite Inspection for free. His price was extremely reasonable considering most quotes I received were around $400. I actually told him he needs to raise his prices for the amount of extensive work he does. He also told me that if he needs to do additional inspections (like if something major is wrong with a house and you decide not to buy it and keep looking) for the home buyers he does them at a reduced rate.

John worked around my schedule, arrived promptly, spent a great deal of time on the inspection, walked me through the house explaining in detail all deficiencies and possible repairs while at the same time making recommendations on renovations, how to repair or update things and general advice. He explained things in a way I could understand them. This was probably the best spent $250 and 2 hours. John was so thorough and helpful. John then sent the report to myself and the Realtor in less than 24 hours via email, and the next day I received a very nice binder with the printed, 4 color report along with a house maintenance book and several other reference guides. He also sent a thank you note. He was very courteous, professional, thorough and clearly knows his stuff. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I close on my house in 3 weeks and I feel confident moving in that I know any and all issues, and I was able to have the seller make some repairs on major issues.

John arrived promptly at the home. He asked about any specific concerns I may have or areas I wanted to be checked. These included the condition of the roof, crawl space, attic insulation, electrical wiring and plumbing. He methodically went through the house making notes and taking pictures for his report. He would stop periodically and show me or let me know when he found anything out of the norm and whether this was minor or serious problem. John worked diligently for two to three house going through the entire house. A few days later he emailed the inspection report along with a book on house maintenance. Shortly after that I received the inspection report in a binder. The report was well written. It summarized as well as detailed areas of concern found in the house and each area was illustrated with photographs. The binder also included a house maintenance manual.

John is very personable, but is serious when he's explaining a deficiency or a problem. When he first explained his fees, I thought it was a bit high for a small condo, but the quality of service he provided made me happy to pay every cent of it. I had the inspection done on Monday, received a PDF of the inspection report by email on Tuesday, and had a physical binder with the report and tons of home-owner resources delivered to me on Wednesday. It was all so professional and my realtor also commented on the quality of the report. He was prompt to return my initial phone call and was able to get me scheduled within my time frame whereas the other company I called couldn't fit me in for another week. I recommend Kidwell Home Inspection without hesitation.

Exceptional! John is very professional and knows his stuff! He was very flexible and was able to work us into his schedule within a few days. He spent 4 hours inspection the home, and provided a lot of great tips. He emailed us the report within 2 days and continued to follow up with us until all aspects of his report were complete (testing results took longer than 2 days). He had a specific concern regarding the slate roof and sought advice from some experts to report back to us as well. Also, he mailed us a copy of a report in a nice binder with other useful information for homeowners and folks relocating to Indianapolis. He also sent us a thank you card later, which was a nice touch.

Throughout the process he kept us apprised of what he would be doing and gave us a brief verbal report of items that were of concern and answered all our questions. He checked absolutely everything from crawl space to the attic, the roof,and all the stuff in between. We were extremely pleased with his work and the final product. The report he provided is outstanding. John was extremely professional and was terrific to work with. We can only hope that when we do sell our house, that the inspector at that time would be John and, if not, someone else just as excellent. I had a short deadline to get this home inspection finished because of leaving town. John agreed to come on a Saturday afternoon on 1 day's notice. He performed a thorough inspection, explaining things along the way and giving helpful tips. He both emailed the finished inspection report to us, as well as mailing a paper copy. We were very pleased with the job he did.

He was on time to the inspection & very friendly. The report he provided was very detailed & easy to read. It came in a nice binder with other helpful information. The only problem was a discrepancy with the invoice. We were told that the cost would be $325, & then I received an invoice for $380. Also, the invoice showed an Angie's List discount, but didn't subtract anything from the bill. So, there really wasn't a discount. He was not very responsive in getting back with me regarding the invoice. He also was rude about that fact that my Realtor set up the appointment for the inspection. I explained that this was because she had to coordinate the time with the seller & myself, so she made the appointment. I had my check made out for $325, & I wish I would have gave it to him the day of inspection, in order to avoid any of this, but he said he would send me an invoice, so that's what we did. After I finally heard from him, he said I could pay $325, so I sent him a check for $325.

I was very satisfied with John's performance. His final report was incredibly detailed, contained color images of every minor or major issue with the house, and described what needed to be done to fix the issue. He emailed me a PDF of the report, along with my invoice and a homeowner's guide the day after the inspection. He also created a binder for me containing a printout of the report. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a professional inspection on their home.

During my initial phone call, I found that John was less expensive than the other companies I called. He was able to schedule a time within a few days, meeting the time constraints I was under. He arrived early and worked professionally and efficiently. Within two days, he had sent us the full report electronically as well as dropping off a hard copy in a professional-looking binder. Most importantly, when the buyers of our home ordered their own inspection, there were absolutely no surprises. In fact, their inspector failed to notice a few things that John found and we had not yet repaired. Because of that, I feel that if I were buying a home, I would want John Kidwell to inspect it, and I could feel confident that he would be attentive to the most minor of problems.

Mr. Kidwell was very thorough and professional and explained in detail his findings and recommendations. A detailed written report was emailed quickly and shortly after a written version arrived.
