John did a very thorough job of inspecting each room and the outside of the unit. He pointed out minor flaws as well as the more significant ones. John also provided great advice on maintenance as well as showed me how to operate several features of the home. The builder was also there during the inspection, so John was able to talk to them directly about some of his concerns. John also provided me with a punch out list for the builder to complete before closing. I really appreciated John's patience and willingness to go through everything with me. Not only did John tell me what was wrong, he helped me understand the implications of what would happen if the fix weren't completed. John also created a binder for me with all of his findings and included color pictures with references, so it is very easy to see exactly what he means in his comments. This also made it easier for the builder as well. Thanks John for your help!

John was already on site when we arrived, and we were early. Using state of the art detection tools, he performed a thorough check from roof to foundation, including everything in between. John was careful to fully explain all of his findings, resulting in more than $500.00 in repairs that the seller was obligated to fulfill prior to closing. John's report was equally detailed, providing photos of all problems, as well as specific explanations of all problems. Since my mother is purchasing this property sight unseen, moving from the west coast, it was important to get it right. In addition, this property is 35 years old, and John knew to point out not only existing problems, but potential, age-related problems. We closed on the property yesterday, knowing that it was the best decision - in no small part due to John's informative inspection.

Inspector arrived a few minutes before appointed time and went to work immediately. He began tests that would take the longest (septic evaluation, water heater evaluation, etc.), then proceeded to check the house in order from roof to attic through crawl space.

During the construction of the house, the contractor forgot to add an upgrade. When we asked for John s ideas, he gave valuable explanations which helped us to decide if we want to correct it or keep the way it is. In the final inspection, John found out several places that needed to be fixed before closing. Some of them were not even obvious and only very careful and professional inspector could notice them. After John pointed it out, I actually noticed some of the houses in the neighborhood have the same problem, but are not aware of it. We planned to have John give the house inspection for 3 times. Because the builder failed to inform us about the right time we missed the time for pre drywall inspection. For the foundation inspection, I gave John very short notice; for the final inspection, there was only 1 day for John to prepare the inspection report before we presented it to the builder for final go-through. Both of the times, John was able to meet the short deadline and sent us beautiful reports. We so appreciate what he did. Overall John is very knowledgeable, professional and nice. He is the guy that we trust most for our house.

He was early, had access to the house, and had completed the outside inspection when we arrived. He filled us in on the high points and proceeded to do a 3 hour thorough inspection of the home. He provides feedback on the issue and a couple of different options for solutions: one to have someone else do the work, and often times recommends how to do the work yourself with quality and less expense, which we appreciated. He has a very common sense approach, and our experience was reflective of what we read in other Angie reports. We have a rental and will use John in the future. We hope our Realtor adds him to the list of recommended resources as well.

I called John on Monday and he scheduled the inspection for Wednesday. I arrived on time and he was already there. He was very thorough and professional and I found myself wanting to hang around while he did the inspection because he explained and showed me everything he was doing. As a first time home buyer, he really taught me a lot and made it interesting. He gave me lots of handy tips, too. John is very personable and easy to talk to.

Mr. Kidwell did an excellent job - although the news he had to report wasn't really what I wanted to hear (as in the house had more issues than I originally thought), he was honest and thorough. I received the report via email the next the day as well as a notebook containing the entire report, a fix-it guide, as well as other worthwhile home-buying information through the mail. He had some great advice about fixing some of the problems. I will most definitely use him again.

John did a very good job inspecting our house. John was very helpful in answering our questions. The report he gave us was very professional and the additional info he gave us was helpful. He was a half hour late, but he reduced our price by $25 which was appreciated.

It went great. John Kidwell is knowledgeable, thorough and best of all, patient while I asked a bunch of questions. I also followed up with questions by email and phone. He has continued to be very responsive and patient.

He had the report to me the next day. He was very quick with his return. He emailed it to me and also mailed an original copy with pictures. Very professional.

John was great to work with. He didn't mind at all that we walked through the house with him during the first half of the inspection. He was very knowledgeable about homes and was honest with us about all the problems he found. After he determined there were serious structural, roofing and electrical issues (which we feared there would be), he was nice enough to offer to stop the radon test and not charge us for it when it became obvious we were not so sure about going through with the sale. His full report that arrived in the mail as well as via e-mail later was incredibly thorough and easy to understand with lots of photos and detailed descriptions.

I called Mr. Kidwell because I had had him do a roof inspection for me earlier in the spring. He had done such a good job that I called him to do the complete house inspection. He was on time and he spent around three hours to look at everything. Along the way he would point out things to us, explaining the problem and the means to fix it. After the inspection he sent first a report via email and then mailed the written report via priority mail. The report is clearly written and full of color photographs. A few days later I had a question so I called and his response was clear and detailed.

John did a great job. He took his time with the inspection and made sure he didn't miss anything. It was my first time buying a house and it was an older house and he walked me through everything in the home. He was very informative and I feel I got more than my money's worth for the inspection. Not only did I receive a very detailed inspection including pictures of everything, but I also learned quite a bit from him from the experience. I would highly recommend John.

John was actually under a home when I initially called to schedule the inspection with him. He called me back immediately and was able to schedule the time/date I had selected. He is extremely polite, professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He truly knows what he is talking about and is able to explain it to you as many times as you need to hear it to understand it as well! He led us through the home we are purchasing and pointed out every area of interest with detail and information for our own upkeep. John was a great asset in the evaluation of our future home and I would hire him again in an instant. The report was in my email in less than 48 hours to submit to my agent for negotiations. The binder I received was extremely impressive and had many sources of information outside of the report as well. Don't take a chance on a maybe, he is the real deal!

Great. Some timing issues with weather and traffic easily resolved. Good thorough inspection with explanations of homes' systems. Each inspection includes a book of photos and written reports. He also sends an email attachment very quickly so you can know if there are serious issues to resolve within the contract time limit. Responds better to phone calls than emails. The price is exceptionally good considering the level of service.

I would hire John again in a second. He was very professional and through. A home is such a major purchase and with no knowledge of home workings, it was a relief to have a dependable inspector.

He did an excellent, thorough job checking all areas of the house. He had already been there to initially check out the property before I even arrived for the appointment. During the walk through he discussed at length the issues he found regarding the house, and provided some pointers on what should be kept an eye on for possible future maintenance. He included his findings in a binder with 50 pages of color photos, descriptions and conditions of all aspects of the house. I would definitely recommend his services!

Mr. Kidwell was very thorough spending 3 hours inspecting our home and explaining everything to my husband as he went.
