John also did other two home inspections for us before. He is just wonderful. No wonder he's got so many Angieslist Awards. On two occasions, I had to reschedule the services due to utility problems. At one time, he had to make a second trip. He kindly accommodated our needs and didn't charge any extra fees. I learned so much about house during his inspection. His prompt reports with photos in both electronic and traditional paper form serve as excellent maintenance manuals to keep our house healthy and happy for years to come.

I was very pleased! John arrived early and went through the house in great detail. He answered all of my questions and provided sound recommendations. I received an electronic copy of the inspection report less than 24 hours later and a bound hard copy arrived within a couple days. The radon test results were promptly sent once they were received back from the lab. It was a great experience and I would certainly not hesitate to call John again in the future.

John did an excellent job on the home inspection for the house we bought. He was very thorough in his evaluation of the home. As we walked through the home during the inspection, he provided me with useful ideas to keep the home in good shape and provided some tips on home maintenance. I would highly recommend John as a home inspector.

I was very very impressed with what I received. They were awesome. He sent me the inspection provided a color binder, a detailed list of things I might want to look at in the near future. He also supplied a detailed list of things I should consider, and more information about the property than I ever imagined I would receive. They were great. He is A+ across the board!!

John was very thorough and friendly, right on time and easy to talk to. He pointed out many things that we would never have noticed ourselves. We never use an inspector that a Realtor or bank recommends because they can be partial to the transaction going through. We got John's name from Angie's List and couldn't be more pleased. The most important discovery John pointed out was that the radon mitigation system that was already in place was improperly venting outside, and that the gas was actually being drawn into a bedroom window-the very bedroom we were planning to house our 2 year old daughter! The sellers agreed to correct most everything that John noted, as he didn't waste time on the minor details. I would definitely use him for our next home purchase! John was also very accommodating to our schedule, as we had to reschedule several times, and even changed houses we were going to buy!

Everything was done in a very timely manner and all emails were immediately following the inspection. Any follow up questions were responded to asap. As a first time home buyer, this inspection was more detailed than we could have anticipated and made us aware of even the tiniest issue that could come about based on the condition of the house. John Kidwell did a great job. He was right on time and inspected the house very thoroughly. He also explained what he did and gave a lot of very helpful tips, which I (as a first time home buyer) I really appreciate. Only three days later, I got his detailed report as a PDF document via email. A week later, I got a binder with the whole inspection in it. His inspection report looked great and was very detailed.

John did a great job and emailed me a lovely report with pictures of everything he found. While performing the inspection, he also showed me any problems he encountered and made suggestions as to how I could fix them easily or have them fixed. He climbed under the house and up on the roof, as well as in the attic.

Mr. Kidwell was not only on time for the appointment, he showed up early and had started the inspection before I arrived which was great! He took time to show me everything and provided a number of valuable suggestions. I learned that he had actually visited the home several days earlier to install Radon inspection detection test kits so that he could collect them the day I actually visited the house. This ensured we got the test results back in a timely manner. The finished report and the findings for the mold and Radon testing were emailed to me within two days of the inspection. Mr. Kidwell is very knowledgeable and friendly. We selected him because he was the top rated on Angie's List...and we were not disappointed!

Exceptional service. Scheduled inspection for following day and he was at the house early. We walked through the inspection with John and he provided a great deal of advice throughout the process. Inspection report was clear with incredible level of detail with pictures for each of the potential problem areas. I had a few follow-up questions which John answer with professionalism and knowledge. His identification of some major structural issues helped us negotiate repair work. Our real estate agent was also impressed by the level of detail. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend to others.

We bought a foreclosed home from the bank with very little time to get the inspection done. John took 6 calls from me prior to the inspection asking him for advice on issues related to potential mold problems. He was very nice through the whole process and did a fantastic job helping me understand what needed to be done with the house. He definitely earned his money in working with me through this specific problematic bank owned home purchase.

I arrived at the home we are purchasing to meet John and he was already there running the appliances and starting his outside inspection. He worked his way through the home, showing me things to keep and eye on and how to use different pieces of equipment. He also gave me some maintenance tips! John was thorough and very knowledgeable. Was on time and very thorough. He was here 4 1/2 hrs and inspected from top to bottom. There were things that I already knew was wrong with the house but he told me what I couldn't see was wrong with it. Very professional.

I decided to hire a home inspector because we're thinking of selling our house in two years. We wanted to start fixing things up now and also we didn't want any surprises from the buyer's home inspector. A very nice touch was he mailed a nifty little tool kit after the inspection!

I was absolutely, positively blown away by John. His professionalism, punctuality, and personality are unparalleled. We are first time home buyers, and found Kidwell Home Inspection on Angie's List. We called a number of inspectors, but John's cost estimate was several times less than every other estimate we received, so based on the price and the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the list, we chose him--I am so glad we did! He was at the home before we even showed up, and was already taking pictures and beginning the inspection with our realtor. We had additional paperwork we needed completed for our mortgage program, and he obliged without any hesitation. We had also failed to mention the septic, and he was happy to look at it as well. Upon meeting him, we found him to be incredibly warm and polite, and he made us feel instantly comfortable despite our fears of what the inspection might turn up. He was extremely patient in explaining to us what he had found at the beginning of the inspection, and although we are complete novices, we walked away feeling as though we had a good understanding of the electrical and structural issues with the home. We did not stay throughout the entire inspection, and when we left, he was diligently snapping countless pictures from every angle of the areas we needed to see. He told us when to expect the report via email, and less than 48 hours, we and our realtor had copies of the house and septic reports. The reports absolutely stunned me in their thoroughness and readability. They included numerous pictures, incredibly detailed explanations, layman's definitions, and a clear and comprehensive assessment of each and every corner of the home. I was so impressed with the meticulous details he included, and I feel that the reports will serve as a manual to which we can refer throughout the ownership of the home. We are now moving forward with purchasing the home, thanks in large part to our confidence in John's painstaking attention to detail. I had hoped that using Kidwell Home Inspection based on Angie's List member feedback would work well for us, and I can honestly say that I could not be happier with the way it turned out. Hopefully we will be in the home for a many years to come, but if I ever in my life have a need for another home inspection, there is no one else I would even consider calling. I will be recommending Kidwell to everyone I know, and I am convinced that everyone will be as ecstatic with his services as we have been. The price of the inspection was hundreds less than his competitors, and I believe that we got the absolute highest quality of work possible at any price. The inspector was there when we had arrived and not only inspected the property but showed us (in person and with complete pictures in his report). He showed us what he found and how everything worked and needed to be maintained. He had the complete report emailed to us the next day.

He was very considerate. He was available on short notice between Christmas and New Years during bad weather. We had a big snow and he was still here with me at the scheduled time. He was very thorough with his inspection inside and out despite the poor weather. His availability over the phone before and after the inspection was very good. He provided an electronic copy of the inspection when it was available and we also received a nice binder with the copy of the inspection in the mail, which was nicely done and at no extra cost.

He understood the problem and the difficulty right away. He checked all over and gave me a good plan for how to proceed. He was super.

We recently purchased our first home. John arrived on time, and was very flexible with the order of his inspection, as the sellers were running late and still in the home. We were encouraged to walk along during the inspection. John was very personable and gave us a bunch of routine maintenance tips for what became our new home. As we have been living in apartments, this was greatly appreciated. I feel that the inspection was very thorough. The inspection lasted between two and three hours and included time spent in the attic, running the dishwasher and washing machine, checking the doors and ceiling joints with a heat gun, heat and a/c check, electrical box, etc. John even tightened a loose connection on an outdoor meter. We received a binder with the inspection report (complete with digital pictures) within a week of the inspection and a pdf of it was e-mailed to us within a day or two. My only tiny complaint (and it's my own fault for not following up) is that we were charged $15 more than the quoted price without an explanation. An e-mail to John asking about it went unanswered. However, the difference was so little and the price was still lower than I'd been quoted elsewhere, so I chose not to pursue it further in the craziness of packing to move and closing on our house. Overall, I am very happy with our inspection.

Mr. Kidwell was prompt, efficient, thorough, and responsive to all the questions I had. He detailed so much information for me and included everything in a report with photos that he emailed me later the same day of the appointment. Included with this report were several other materials of interest to me as a homeowner. He took his time explaining how things worked and how to care for different appliances as well as explaining the condition of all the systems. I also appreciated that he gave me all the serial numbers of the appliances should I need them at a later date. I am so pleased I used Angie's List to find Mr. Kidwell.
