It went very well. He was very helpful and professional and I would highly reccomend the company.

The owner did a great job of getting us a quote within 2 days of my phone call and the price was in line with 2 other quotes. We went with them because they seemed professional and had great marketing materials and they are an Angie's List award winner. They did an excellent job on the painting. But, when the crew was cleaning their materials they dumped something on an evergreen shrub that killed part of it and now there are a couple big sections of brown. It wasn't brought to my attention - I noticed it after they had gone for the day. I thought they would do a follow up visit to see how we liked their work, but they didn't. We had some shutters on the house already and we wanted to add more and also asked if they would put up the shutters. The painting crew obviously had never done this before because they put the wrong size on 4 of the windows and had to redo them and they didn't fasten them in all the places so we are having to hire someone else to do it right.

I called; they said they were remodeling and they would get back to me. I called again. Never heard from them; bought elsewhere.

They tried to repair them and when they couldn't, they refunded my money. I thought this was very fair.

Once the gutters were installed, they looked fine. There was some confusion with the installation date, though. We were given a range of time during which the work might be performed. As that range came and went, my husband called to ask them if they knew when they would be able to perform the work. They told us they'd get back to us. They did not call us back, but about two days later, a crew arrived and just replaced the gutters. They told us they were a subcontractor for JD Hostetter. The day after that, we got a call from someone at the company apologizing for the miscommunication and assuring that the work would be performed within a few days. My husband called them back to explain that the work had already been done. All in all, this was very confusing.

Mark did a very thorough job when looking over the job and making the estimate. He helped me make the best decisions overall for my situation and saw some things needing repair that I hadn't noticed. He kept me informed, worked in stages around the other steps in my project, was punctual, took care to protect other surfaces, left the work area clean, and, most of all, completed the work to perfection. He and Sean worked well together and were a pleasure to have working in my home. Mark also shared painting tips for my do-it-yourself projects and to take care of any dings that might happen to the cabinets.

I spoke with Jeff Hostetter who was very helpful with all the questions I had. His estimate was well below the ones I received from other Angie's List A-rated painters. The starting time was a little later than estimated, but was not a problem. The crew power washed the house and replaced three rotted boards. They also took some time with a couple of pretty bad window sills. The project was started on a Saturday and finished on Sunday, because the possibility of rain was in the forecast. The crew was courteous and hard working. They responded promptly to any areas that I felt needed more attention. The result was very good in my opinion.

They did excellent job on painting. We even got bumped up on the list for having our paint picked out in advance. They promised the job would be done by a certain date and it was. I was a bit nervous as we had a very large party planned for the following weekend and they guaranteed it would be done and cleaned up by then. I was very impressed. The gutter installation didn't go as smooth, the rep came out and discussed everything we wanted, but somehow in the communication to the installers it was missed. They tore down the old gutters and dumped the debris in my flower beds and middle of the lawn. They installed the gutters above the paint line so you could see the old paint. Mike Young was very apologetic and corrected the problems-he had the painters come out and touch up the lines and even had the gutter installers come out to clean up their mess and readjust some of the gutters to match the paint line. I was very impressed with their customer service; I would highly recommend them.

Everything went very smoothly from getting the initial estimate through to the completion of the work. I am very satisfied with the results and with my interaction with the painters.

We coordinated this work with having the house painted, also by JD Hostetter (see separate report). Jeff Hostetter provided us with actual samples of gutter material so we could select the right color and have the house paint custom matched to the gutters. The gutter installation went quickly and looks great! I am looking forward to never having to clean leaves out of them again. :-)

The initial quote was delivered quickly and very professionally, including full details of the work to be done, a copy of their insurance certificate, color brochures on paint choices and a DVD illustrating the other services offered. The price was as good as all other bids we considered but the other companies all wanted to charge extra for any wood that needed to be replaced, where Jeff Hostetter included that in his commitment to us. We had high expectations based on the company's reputation, but we were still pleasantly surprised at the superior level of service, professionalism, and quality of the work done. We were especially happy with the quality of the prep work and two very thorough coats of paint. Although any paint job has to stand the test of time, at this point we are 100% happy with the results and are looking forward to a long relationship with JD Hostetter for other home improvement needs.

OK. Took a little longer than anticipated. Some dry wall sanding debris left on ceiling fans, porch floor.

I got three quotes before we hired someone. Jeff was the first to respond in person and gave us a professionally done quote. We added some work after the original quote and it all got done, with a few extra phone calls, but turned out fine. The crew was efficient, and returned at our request after the job was done, to fix a few details. The house looks great and our neighbors have made positive comments.

Very detailed estimate. However, it took so long that I already had a contractor. It took at least a week to return my call and then several more before I had the estimate.

Great! The finished job is beautiful and the whole project took exactly one week. The painters were sub-contracted by Hostetter but they were as contentious and diligent as any regular employee. The crew of 8 worked everyday it didn't rain often until past 8:00 in the evening! The whole house and garage were hand painted and only the shutters were sprayed. The quality and neatness of their work was wonderful. We would recommend Hostetter & Associates continue to use them as sub-contractors.

Everything went great. We were told the job would take about two days and they ran pretty much on schedule. This was done over Labor Day weekend (starting on Friday and endiing on Tuesday). They even came and worked for a few hours on Saturday. They cleaned up the work area quite well. You would not have known that anybody had been there. We are very pleased with the final results.

JD Hostetter assured us that the bonding in the primer and the 2nd coat of Porter Acri-Shield would provide "the longest possible duration" life expectancy wise. Not even a year after they did this work the siding and trim to the exterior of our building began chipping and falling off. We have tried numerous times to contact them and have them come out to take a look and they have not returned our phone calls! The building looks 20 years old with the way the paint is peeling! Poor customer service and lack of consideration to a paying customer!

In short, it went great. They gave us an estimate in the spring and for personal reasons we scheduled the job for the late summer. They were very accommodating and ready to go when we called. They finished the job in about 3 working days (excluding some rain days). The workers were neat and courteous. When they finished, we found a few spots that were lighter than the rest of the house, and they were quick to return and fix those patches. Our house looks brand new and we love it.

The gentleman that did the work was here when he said he would be, he was a perfectionist and did an outstanding job. It took longer than anticipated but it was worth the wait.

The lead painter David and crew were excellent in completing the task within two days. However, Paul the supervisor was somewhat a disappointment: for example he failed to repaired several rotten wood-cedar planks on the rear of the house, after I had informed him prior to the beginning of the job both verbally and in writing. He indicated that he would take care of replacing the rotten section within a few days, but after 2 weeks of waiting, I finally hired someone else to replace the rotten wood, and I painted this section myself. Also, it took over a month before the painter returned to touch-up missed sections of the house. The owner was very understanding and apologized for the delays, etc and the job was finally completed from start to finish in about 8 weeks or so.

Extremely pleased. They scheduled around me while I was having panic moments over color selection. They spent parts of three days onsite and were extremely focused and efficient, as well as polite and courteous. They cleaned up afterwards on a daily basis. I won't hesitate to call them again or to recommend them to friends.

I was very impressed with Jeff's professionalism and presentation when he came to give the estimate. His was the middle price of 3. The quote included a DVD and portfolio-very slick. I was expecting a super duper job. That's why I was disappointed when the painters applied primer and top coat on the same day. They did not carefully inspect for rotten wood, in fact they would not have replaced two pieces if I hadn't pointed them out. They appeared to be more interested in finishing quickly rather than doing the job well. They finished in two days, but I found several areas that did not get a second coat and one piece of trim where the hole was caulked instead of replaced. They had to come back a third day to take care of the items that should have been done correctly in the first place. The weather was hot and the painters worked hard. I don't blame them. I blame Jeff for not giving better training. However, he did take care to see that everything was finished.

Excellent. Jeff and his wife came out to look over the work requested. We received a quote within four days. The work was begun within two weeks of accepting the quote. The painting took the workmen one very full day plus one hour the next day. The workmen were thorough and meticulous and did an outstanding job. They cleaned up after the work was finished to our satisfaction.

Excellent. The two men who replaced the windows finished completely in one day. This frankly amazed me. The gutters were replaced by a different crew who also did a terrific job.
