JD Hostetter & Associates

I am submitting this 3 years after the work was completed. As the majority of work was done to the external portion of the house I allowed it to "stand the test of time" before filing this report. Most work looks good when just finished but really good work should still look good after a few years through the weather cycles we have in Indiana. Jeff was easy to work with and proved to be an honest and up front guy. He had subs for portions of the work who were excellent as well. All work was completed as agreed, on time and with no added expenses. The work looks as good today as it did when finished several years ago. I remain very impressed by JD Hostetter and would hire Jeff without hesitation again and probably will sometime soon.

Overall, they did a very nice job. The price seemed high, but was similar to the other estimates (two) that we received. We were very satisfied with their speed, professionalism, and quality of work.

I called J D Hostetter and Associates, along with two additional companies, to come out and provide an estimate. Jeff was on time and he thoroughly explained his estimate to me. Once I recieved all three estimates I made the decision to go with JD Hostetter and Associates. Jeff came out and went over the entire process step by step and answered all of the questions I had about the job. When it came time to start the job his crew was on time and professional, and they worked hard to complete the job based on the time table I had to get it finished by. When the job was finished the house looked great and the crew did a great job cleaning up my property. I have a couple additional projects to complete over the next year and I will definetely be going with J D Hostetter & Associates based on the excellent experience I had this time.

The old gutters on our house were installed in the mid 1980s and were leaking and clogging frequently. We asked for a quote via email, and Jeff responded within 2 days. When we contacted him to sign the contract, he again responded immediately. The work was completed within one week, despite it being a holiday weekend. Jeff and his crew were very professional and polite. We are very happy with our new gutters.

We received quotes from several different siding companies, and eventually narrowed it down to JD Hostetter and one other company. From the beginning, Jeff Hostetter was very sincere, honest, and determined to do a good job. Our gut told us to choose him, but his quote was a bit higher than his competitor. Fortunately, he offered to match their price, so that sealed it. We wanted fiber cement siding, and Jeff helped us with some design choices. The crew started on time, as promised. We had the new siding put on top of our old siding, rather than tearing out the old. The crew took only a couple days to put the new siding up, but weather delayed the painting considerably. The painting was where JDH really shined. The crew was very meticulous and careful with their work. They clearly were concerned with every detail, and outperformed our expectations. There was an issue with some rotted joists in the garage, which in turn required us to replace the soffitts there. Both joists and soffitt were fixed satisfactorily. We also had 5 vinyl windows installed, which went well. The work was completed in one day, and they look great. There were a few minor stumbles along the way, mostly due to poor communication between the parties involved (Jeff, the crew, the office manager, the window installer, etc.). It was never anything serious, but did interrupt an otherwise smooth operation. But all in all, we couldn't be happier with the process. The new siding looks spectacular, and we've enjoyed seeing our neighbors slowly roll by the house to check it out. Everyone has complimented the new look, and we're quite proud. JDH was a pleasure to work with, and we'd recommend them to anyone. Eventually we're hoping to get a new roof, and they'll certainly be on our short list. There's a reason why they've won so many Super Service Awards from Angie's List. Some of the other siding companies seemed to take us for granted, and were indifferent whether they got our job or not. But Jeff wasn't, and that really showed in their work. We've absolutely satisfied.

They provided a quote within several days of my call. They arrived on time. The quote was sent by email. Although they did have the lowest price, I chose to give the work to another firm primarily who did primarily roofing - my impression is that while Hostetter does some roofing, they do a lot of siding and painting.

They did a good job. I'm satisfied with job.

JD Hostetter put a new roof on my home almost 2 years ago. I was very satisfied with their professionalism --everything they promised to do they did, on time. This last fall I experienced a small leak and called them. They called me back right away and scheduled an appt for the next morning. It seems some leaves had gotten under a loose shingle. They fixed it promptly at no charge. I would not hesitate to call them for any job.

I am not entirely happy with them and their work. I think they must use sub-contractors. It seemed to me that they painted the garage too quick after preparing it. They didn?t give it a chance to dry out. The work was great, but the people that did the work were average. However, they did a good job and my garage still looks good. I guess I will use them again in the future.

Did a great job. Due to weather they were delayed getting out to house. Would have prefered they have kept me informed of when they were gong to start.

This company was very easy to deal with. Mr. Hostetter made sure that the whole process went very smoothly. I will call them in the future for any other work that I will need.

Excellent job. The install crew was awesome. I had them move a downspout from one corner of the house to another and extend one in the driveway. They did exactly what I asked for without any problems. Jeff was great to work with. He answered all my questions and gave me several options to choose from. I will definitely work with them again.

Honest company. Very reliable. Cleaned up mess when finished. Pleasant people to deal with. Did a wonderful job on all jobs hired for and finished on time.

Jeff Hostetter was great to work with. We kept changing our minds on what we wanted and Jeff was very helpful and patient with us. I would recommend these guys to anyone!!!

Excellent customer service with completion promptly. Excellent quality work.

The crew completed the painting while we were at work, not requiring me to be at residence while work was performed. The exterior wood looked great, and they did a great job of keeping the paint off the surfaces that it shouldn't be on (ie shrubs, concrete, siding, etc). They replaced all rotten wood trim on the house and recaulked it before painting it. Looks great and paint has held up well. Thanks Jeff!

We called Jeff when we had some wind blow a section of shingles off our roof. We decided the time was right to replace the roof. Jeff was very helpful in helping us decide which shingles to use. The crew works quickly and professionally and did a great job with the installation. The crew leader informed me that I didn't have any soffit vents in my roofline over the garage, and installed them for just the cost of material. Very are very happy with our roof and our choice to use JD Hostetter!

From start to finish, Awesome Job! I have worked with many contractors. These guys are the best I have every worked with. Professional, courteous Crew! I highly recommend these guys!

Jeff and his crew were very professional, timely, and provided a high quality window. The crew worked quickly to get the windows in without sacrificing quality. Had a small issue with the way the trim around the slinding door was reinstalled, but they came back quickly and fixed it. Additionally, Jeff's crew recommended a new window sill that would be more durable than existing and affordable. Everything looks and works great!

Very positive experience. Jeff came out on 2 separate occasions and arranged for us to visit the showroom warehouse of the window manufacturer. All went very smoothly---no surprises.

The actual cleaning, painting and repair was done quickly and we think well. However there were many areas where there were paint drops, dribbling strings etc. They sen some people to finish a couple of over-looked areas and clean up the paint that I had complained about. When the clean-up was unsatisfactory to us the owner came by to see the problem. They tried to do some cleaning, but it made the spots larger and noticeable. We think the painting, etc, was well done , but in doing so, the sloppy work was very unsatisfactory. We would use them again but only with the understanding that there would be a price reduction for similar unsatisfactory work.

So far the experience has been good. They are going to be doing the job.

Two story home sustained considerable damage as the result of a hail storm. The roof, the vinyl siding, gutters and downspouts all needed to be replaced. Additionally the exterior trim needed to be painted and a window damage by the hail needed to be replaced. I contacted three companies about getting the work done. J D Hostetter & Associates was the only company I contacted that was able to do all the required work. The other two companies did roofing, siding and gutters but didn't do painting or weren't able to replace the damaged window. J D Hostetter & Associates gave me an estimate that was inline with the Insurance Company?s Findings and they helped me resolve some discrepancies with the Insurance Adjuster?s Estimate. The work was done in a timely and very professional manner. The work crews were very polite and cleaned up every evening. As I drive through the neighborhood and see some of the other ?repaired? homes that were damaged in the same hail storm, I am glad I choose to have my work done by J D Hostetter & Associates.

They came out right when they said that they would. They were neat throughout the project. Everything looks very good. They worked with us, because there was a certain paint that we wanted. Jeff is the owner and he was pretty easy to get a long with during the project.
