They did a good job, they were very quick. It only took them a little over two days.

Jeff came out to take a look within a couple days and gave me a detailed estimate. He was extremely nice and professional. He gave a me a few recommendations on what he would do which was appreciated. My wife and I are putting the project on hold but we will definitely consider using them in the future.

I joined Angie's list for just a couple months so I could find a company to hire to paint the exterior of my house. Of the three companies I received estimates from, JD Hostetter was not the least expensive bid, however I liked that his crew would paint the house by hand, rather than using a sprayer. They completed the work in just 2 days and used top quality materials. The house looks amazing, and we've gotten many compliments from neighbors. The only hitch to this being a perfect job was that the garage door wasn't completely cut out after the paint job, and the door stuck in place while the garage door opener pulled the bracket out of the door. I emailed Jeff & Brenda about this and Jeff called me immediately to apologize and offer to pay for the repair of the garage door. He sent a check in the mail the next day. No one is perfect, but his quick response to this problem showed perfect customer service. I would happily work with Jeff & Brenda again in the future and will pass along their information to our neighbors and friends.

We called several companies from Angie's List in December 2010 to give us estimates on replacing the gutters on our house, but were most impressed with the quick response, and the honest estimate, given by J.D. Hostetter & Associates. We were told that we could go with a more costly gutter system, but since they knew that my husband had been unemployed recently, they made us a great deal on a good quality product that was exactly what we needed. Since part of the rear gutter had previously fallen down from the late spring ice storm, we were anxious to get it fixed as soon as possible, and Hostetter's really delivered--they checked to see if it would be all right to come out to do the work before the weather got any worse, and ended up taking care of the entire job, on New Year's Eve day. (Yes, a holiday--and they didn't charge any extra for that service!) They were efficient, did high-quality work, and were done with the job in a surprisingly short time--in and out well before dark that same day. After all of the heavy rains this spring, our new gutters have performed wonderfully well, and we are still very happy with the great job that J.D. Hostetter's did--we would definitely recommend them to anyone, and will call them again if we need work done in the future.

They did excellent work in all aspects of the job. The awning was removed and the siding was replaced exactly how we asked them to, the front porch post looks great as does the exterior paint job.

We were very happy with the service and results. Scheduling was a little tricky since we were trying to coordinate their services with the completion of some landscaping/hardscaping renovations, and the weather wasn't cooperating, but they were very good at communicating when their people would be out to start. The results are beautiful. The painters replaced some rotting wood, and even painted the stained chimney, which I wasn't expecting, and the gutter installers cut down some extraneous wiring from the roof at my request. More work was needed on the gutters than we anticipated, but there were no hard-sell tactics, just fair recommendations. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing the type of services they provide.

I contacted JD Hostetter requesting an estimate on 3/28/2011 about getting some house siding replaced ,soffits installed and house wrapping. I received a timely response and Jeff came over to talk about my needs and the repairs needed and gave me an estimate. They were originally scheduled to start around 5/15/2011,but Jeff called me and told me that they could get started earlier,depending on the weather. About a week later the crew showed up and started the job. The job was stretched a bit longer than expected,but this was only due to the stormy April weather. Jeff's crew showed up early on days that the weather permitted and put in a full days work. At one stage of the job they discovered some rotten wood underneath some of the old siding and brought it to my attention so we were able to address the issue and replace it. The work crew was very polite and cleaned up the area daily. This was a quality job done and I will definately contact Jeff and use JD Hostetter in the future.

We had a dryer vent problem that was hopeless. Faulty installation of the original vent many years ago had caused it to become clogged and useless. I asked Jeff Hostetter to look at the situation and he said "I know someone who can do that." Jeff''s employee, Rob, came to do a comprehensive inspection of the premises including two trips to the attic. He then proposed an unique solution that no one else had thought of. He came back a few days later to execute the solution in a few hours leaving the laundry room looking better than before and a vent gusting warm air outside when the dryer was operating. Rob told me his experience was in installing insulation but I think his talents range more broadly with his methodical approach to any homeowner problem.

We received three quotes for the job. They were in the middle in terms of cost but were available to start quickly and they were by far the most professional. Jeff Hostetter called me directly and did everything exactly the way I asked with no hesitation. If he said he would be by at 3pm to take a look at things and talk to me he was there on time as he said. If I called he answered or returned my call immediatly. I know this sounds like the type of service that every contractor should be providing but of all my experiences he is the ONLY one to ever conduct himself with this level of professionalism. Until I encountered JD Hostetter I didnt believe such a contractor existed. Oh, and the paint and trim turned out very nicely too!

We had hired the company to do some exterior paint and trim repairs but had a quote from another contractor to do the gutters once paint and trim was finished. While they were working Jeff Hostetter offered to go ahead and complete the gutters so that we didnt have to wait. They offered to do the work for the same price that we had been quoted by the other company. They saved us time and made the job much more convenient for us.

They were excellent in every way. Great customer focus and pride in workmanship. Jeff was personally involved and often present. Great carpentry. Reacted promptly to every minor glitch. Subs were all great and very responsive to our requests. If you are going to have this type of work done I highly recommend them. The height of professionalism!

Bad December weather and an extended trip of ours prolonged the completion of the work but Jeff stayed with it and fulfilled his promises. Very pleased.

Communication was a major issue with this company. We requested that we be contacted in advance so that we could know when the painting would begin. We had been told several consecutive days that employees would be there the next day, and multiple days, no one showed up. They finally showed up at 7 p.m. on a Friday to power-wash the house, and they returned Saturday to paint. The owner of the company told us that day that the work would be done in one day. This did not happen. An employee told us they would finish up the back of the house on that day so that we could lock up our property. That way, no one would need to be home when they returned. This did not happen. It was necessary that a family member be home on the following days when they returned. In addition, we had been told that they had bought the incorrect attic vent and would need to return to put in the correct one. When they returned, it had turned out they had never even taken the measurement and would need to return again. The quality of the paint job was satisfactory, but the excuses and poor communication made the experience an unpleasant one.

My wife and I had let the paint go too long on our house and it was in some need of some work. J D Hostetter returned a quote to us within 24 hours, and we signed them up. They pressured wash and cleaned off the old caulk and paint, cleaned up and replaced boards that were rotted. They replaced 2 wood columns on the front of the house that had rotted about 3 feet off the ground. Primed all the wood then painted. On the final day, they replaced all of the gutters. My wife and I are very happy with the service and the crew was courteous and cleaned up the site nightly before they left. We will definitely be using them again when the time comes.

From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. It took a day to get an estimate, a couple days to get the quote back from Jeff. Once the deposit was given, they started work! The dumpster arrived, and the next day, the crew started tearing off the old wood. Once that was complete, and the weather dried up, they started installing the moisture barrier, and the siding. Within a couple days, the entire siding was placed, and a couple days after the house was painted. Overall, it took around a 1.5 weeks to finish. Honestly, if it wasn't for all the positive reviews, I wouldn't have known about JD Hostetter, and I'm glad I did my research. The work turned out perfect! From start to finish, we are impressed! They did a very good job and its looks beautiful. The owner came out before the job started and after the project was fully completed. He reassured us that if we have any problems during the year, to let them know. We were impressed by this. Additionally, the crew worked very well with us and were accommodating.

From the time I called about having the exterior of one of our houses painted and Brenda answered the phone, the experience was all good. Brenda took my information; and, within a few HOURS Jeff had been to the house and emailed a detailed estimate. From beginning to end everyone was friendly and professional. We had several areas of rotten wood replaced (and some additional replacement after painting was begun); the entire area was cleaned and prepped; then primed and painted. The house has never looked so good!

They did a great job. They cleaned up well after the job. They professional and efficient.

We were very happy with the service from start to end. Jeff quickly replied to our inquiry, set up an appointment to appraise the job, and sent a quote a couple days later. He was very attentive to our questions and kept us up to date about where we were in the process. Each work group (roofers, window installers, carpenters and drywallers) were courteous, performed high quality work and cleaned up the area when their job was done. For jobs that required me or my wife to be home (windows and drywall), Jeff worked with us and was very flexible in scheduling times. Jeff was also creative in solving installation issues that arose. For example, in replacing the gutters a boxed fascia board was installed so the gutters no longer had to be hung from the sheathing. It was constructed such that it matched the aesthetics of a 60 year old house and allowed the gutter to be very securely mounted. Overall, it was a good experience and we would certainly work with J D Hostetter & Associates again on another project.

We got several estimates and chose this company because we liked the quality of the window he was proposing. We also gathered several estimates for exterior house painting. I told him that if he did a good job, I would also hire him to paint the house. He did an excellent job on the window and came in under budget. He also did the painting and did a fabulous job on the exterior of the house. Next, we needed a new roof and larger gutters on the front of the house. Because he had done so well, we decided to hire him for the roof and guttering as well. He completed four projects for us and did an excellent job on all of the work. I received several estimates for each of the projects and he was competitive on every bid. The house looks marvelous. I couldn't be happier with the work. I truly trust Jeff. I even paid him the final check before everything was complete because I had so much confidence in him.

We had a mixed experience. It wasn't awful but the responsiveness was sluggish. They originally installed the wrong windows 2 yrs ago but he did step up and admit that with apologies. I did hire him for repeat windows at which time he gave us a discount.

After a slight misunderstanding on an initial appointment, everything went extremely well. Always on time on the date and very professional. What they quote is the full charge and delivered. In addition to resolving the supplier issue noted above, Jeff and Curt also provided consulting on another potential project. True professionals and very easy to work with....they are concerned that the whatever the job it is done right.. Will use them again.
