JD Hostetter & Associates

I called on 3/25/2013. The sales Rep. Came out on 3/26(while we were at work). Received the estimate right away. Being hesitant to choose a color from the brochure their Rep.went to the distributor picked up and delivered samples the next day. Called and scheduled to have the work done on 3/29. Work was done on 4/2. They did an excellent job all around from start to finish.

Everything went extremely well. They were able to start work on the first day within the range they quoted me. I forgot to ask for a couple of minor repairs in the quote and they fixed them with no additional charge. The initial quote from this company came in higher than other companies. The estimate was a bit vague to me and this company has great reviews on Angie's List, so I decided to call the guy who did the estimate, Mike Hull. (I called 4 other companies and received 3 quotes.) Mike was by far the most professional person from any company I dealt with. After I got an apples to apples estimate, this company was very competitive, but still the highest bidder. I decided on this company because of Mike's professionalism. I'm glad I did because I feel like I received A quality work and customer service.

The experience went well. He was punctual and showed up right when he said he would. I liked their work however it would have cost almost twice as muich as the other estimates I recieved

Jeff Hostetter is wonderful to work with. He is honest and fair. His price is not the cheapest you will find, but the service and follow up make his company worth the extra you pay. He listened when I asked that they not paint in extreme cold or damp conditions, and he would get right back with me on any questions I had during the completion of the job. The job went well, and was completed quickly, even though there were several boards that needed to be replaced and the chimney needed to be redone. Jeff bought a nail sweeper for the yard to clean up after his workers so that my young children would not be injured by stray nails. He takes great pride in the quality of work he provides and is very thorough when he reviews the work his contractors complete. If there is an issue, he will take care of it immediately without hassle. I have come to trust Jeff and think of him as a member of the family. I know that if I needed a quality contractor for any job in my house with which Jeff was familiar, he could recommend someone I can trust. I will definitely hire Jeff again in the future for any large jobs that need to be completed. I am writing this review two years after the work was completed because I let my Angie's List membership lapse. I hired Jeff and company again for replacing my windows, sills, patio and entry doors, as well as some interior trim painting I wanted completed. I will write that review separately, but will say here that it was another quality job done to my high expectations.

I called for estimate in September and they came out quickly. I liked there products so I scheduled them to do job. They gave me a date and they did the job as planned. They completed job in one day and it was Great!

They were great. Babs and Mike were both extremely prompt with returning our initial request for a quote, coming out to do an assessment and providing and estimate. I was impressed with the professionalism and quickness in which they handled our request. They were very accurate with their projected project date and the work was perfect. My husband and I both work during the day and they made it very easy for us to not have to take off. We will definitely be using JD Hostetter for future needs and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks for the great service!

Babs Hull scheduled an estimate appointment promptly when I called their phone number. Mike Hull arrived on-time for the estimate appointment and discussed options of painting versus replacement of the wood siding. Scheduling of the work was made a bit difficult due to the weather (low overnight temperatures and rain). Once the work commenced, the workers worked quickly and efficiently. They maintained a clean working area and picked-up after themselves at the end of each work day. They adequately covered with plastic our deck, spa, grill, and furniture so that the overspray from the primer and paint would not affect them. A few days after the final coat of paint was applied, paint began to bubble-up and peel off the rear of the house. Mike Hull and Jeff Hostetter responded promptly to my request for a resolution. Jeff assured me that this type of issue, while rare, does occur. He delivered on his promise to make it right as soon as possible at no additional cost to me. A representative of the paint manufacturer worked with the painting crew to ensure that they had used proper application techniques. After finding no issues with application technique or surface preparation, the rep concluded that the low overnight temperatures likely caused the paint to fail. Warmer weather would be needed to reapply. Luckily, the weather warmed sufficiently for the paint crew to come back in a few days to remove the failed primer/paint and reapply. So far, so good... the paint still looks good after a couple of weeks. Jeff assured me that they will stand by their work and the paint and will make it right should the paint fail within the next year.

We initially contacted J D Hostetter as well as some other highly rated gutter companies on Angie's List. Surprisingly, J D Hostetter was the only company to respond promptly to our email request. They came out promptly to provide a quote. There was about a week's delay between trying diagnosing the problem and actually performing the work.--There were several days of high winds and rain during this period, and I assumed that was the reason. In speaking with the workers, it seemed to me that they were quite experienced and expert. I thought they did a great job.

Took longer than initially estimated. Worth the extra time.

Overall, I was very pleased with the work done by J.D. Hotstetter. They were very professional, and the work was completed early. I love the garage door and color of the trim around patio door! They did an excellent job on the interior painting as well. We will definitely give them a call for other projects in the future.

Contacted Hostetter & Associates after finding them on Angie's LIst. In all fairness, I did find a few other siding / painting contractors on the list also. But, it was Mike at Hostetter who won my business with his willingness to take the time to understand exactly what I wanted to have done. Let's just say that for the money we expected to put into our house, we knew what we wanted, how we wanted to have it done, and were unwilling to settle for anything less. Mike understood that and gave us a quote based on the work we expected. Company worked with us to schedule after all the windows and the doors were replaced. The company was superbly professional. Mike met with us a couple days before the job began to walk through what would be done and how so that we would understand. They had a dumpster delivered so that they could clean up any debris created each day -- which we were very disappointed to see that every other contractor in the area seemed more than happy to dump their trash and building materials into... Materials were delivered and work started as planned even though the weather turned cold and rainy. The crew got started each day and pointed out areas that could be concerns as they uncovered problem areas -- which were expected because the siding replacement was needed because the siding had started to rot away because of moisture problems. The crew made repairs to the structure, sided and trimmed out the entire house, applied caulking to every seam, and made certain that all openings into the house were closed to seal out water to insure against future problems like they were repairing. The paint job was outstanding. They spent time making sure everything was masked off so door hardware maintained its finish. When the job was completed, they cleaned even better than they did at the end of every day. Jeff Hostetter came to visit a number of times (as did Mike) during the job to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Mike also checked back when the job was completed -- just to make sure we were happy. Happy is an understatement. The house looks incredible, and we will gladly recommend Jeff Hostetter and Associates to anyone who needs siding and painting services.

Saved By JD! I recently purchased a home only to find out after one year that due to the position of my home, sunlight reflects off other windows and melts my vinyl siding. After consulting with many siding companies, Hostetter came out, assessed my issue and provided me with their recommendation for a materia that would withstand the sunlight. We agreed on price/color etc. The work began exactly when it was quoted to begin. Their workers were prompt, professional, and left my property with no mess. The siding crew, and the crew that did the prime/paint did a great job! I plan to contract them again to replace the vinyl on the rest of my home as the budget allows. We had hail damage earlier this year & Jeff Hostetter came out & worked with us on our many repairs that were needed. He worked with the insurance company thoroughly & efficiently to provide an overall positive experience for us. Jeff was patient with us as I had difficulty choosing the roof color. I chose the window wrap color & after 2 windows, did not like the color & Jeff helped me choose the right color. Because of my indecisiveness, the entire job took longer & Jeff was VERY patient with me. He even brought in his partner & one of his managers to help resolve issues we had with our house. We had some exterior painting done to complete our look. All of the work was done professionally by his staff & any issues we had were attended to quickly & resolved to our satisfaction. Overall, our experience was great!

We made the decision to utilize their services based upon Angie's List recommendations and we were not disappointed. Jeff Hostetter was very helpful and his crew was very professional! They had to work weekends to complete the replacement of siding and exterior painting as originally promised because of the more than normal number of days with rain this fall. We are pleased with the results.

We called JD Hostetter immediately after a severe hail storm that did what looked like damage to our roof. Jeff had painted our house earlier and I had asked him at that time if we needed to replace our roof. (this was prior to the storm) He said we had a few more years before that would be necessary. Since they were so honest when asked before, we did not hesitate to call them now. Jeff came out and again throughly inspected the roof and said he or his foreman would like to meet the insurance adjuster at our house when he did his inspection. Wally came out, met the ajduster and they both inspected the roof. They reviewed what work was to be done, cost etc. They also pointed out damage to gables and other areas. The work was done on time, quickly and professionally. They removed all debris every evening and completely when done. They did not make the exact siding that was used on the gables in 1960. Jeff searched to find a close match and wrapped them in such a way, that you can not tell any difference at all. The Roof looks Great! We have gotten a ton pf compliments from our neighbors and a few have had Jeff do their roofs as well!

We selected J.D. Hostetter based on other reviews they had received. Our house is a two story full brick with two story garage. Steep Roofs and Gables. It was built in 1960 and had not been painted in several years. It really needed to be throughly scraped and brushed prior to painting. The Shutters and eves were really rough. Jeff met us at the agreed upon time and really took his time to throughly cover all the areas to be done. We thought sime of the Shutters would have to be replaced. After a thorough inspection he told us that the shutter were fine and just needed some TLC. This was great news as new wood shutters are in excess of $300.00 and we have A LOT of them. There was a slight delay due to the weather but they kept us informed and started and finished when they said they wood. Jeff and his forman David were extreemly helpful and professional. They cleaned up the entire areas even having one worker go around by hand and remove all the paint ships form our mulch. We did not ask for this to be done but really appreciated it! The house looks AMAZING!!! They even replaced some boards that were rotten at no additional charge.

We had used Jeff and his crew to paint our house and they did great job. So good in fact that the railing on our patio looked quite sad. We asked them to make some repair and thoroughly paint the rail and some areas of the patio. We have three dogs and were concerned about keeping them safely inside the railing. The railing is several years old and made of pressure treated wood. We could not get anything to stick on it previously. They thoroughly prepared, primed and painted all the exposed areas and made necessary repairs. When they were almost done I noticed an area on one of the gates that I was concerned about. This was in a different area and not discuss previously but they repaired it immediately and did not charge us for it. They came in on budget, as they have done in all of our other projects. They have completely painted our house, replaced our roof and replaced siding on our barn. We will continue to use them first for any projects we have come up.

Jeff came out to give estimates and time the people would be here to do the work. They were here on time and punctual. Jeff was onsite several times to over see the work being done. I have recommended this company to several people and have seen them in the neighborhood. Very pleased and will use again.

JD Hostetter & Associates painted our house several years ago when we lived at a different location, so we were familiar with their company and workmanship. We contacted them about having a patio installed and Jeff told me they had expanded their deck services to include simple patios as well as decorative stamped type patios. We just wanted something simple and he told me they would be as simple as we wanted to be. The quote was very competitive to several other quotes we received and since we had already worked with them in the past, we decided to hire them and we are very happy we did. The experience was just as it was when they painted our house.

Fantastic!! We contacted JD Hostter via telephone. The came to our house, quoted the project and discussed all details with us. We then told them we were interested in a patio only to find out they did that too! It was a one stop shop.

It is A pleasure to report that Mike Hull and the crew they assigned to perform the work were outstanding. Mike was extremely helpful in providing options for us to choose from and so very easy to work with. He was timely and responsive to every need/question. The crew spent 3 full days on the project. The end product far exceeded my expectations. Of particular importance to me was the quality of their work and their attention to details. Each evening when they left for the day, the work area was cleaner than when they started. The crew demonstrated through their actions that they actually took pride in their work. They worked very well together and made this a very pleasing experience.

They sent a huge crew that was able to quickly and thoroughly get the job done in the shortest amount of disruptive time. The detail of the estimate was very impressive and it is what ultimately got them the job. They took care of one minor misunderstand about the job and did not charge any extra to remedy it and it was immediately taken care of.

The work was done at a small condo complex of 23 units (the author of this review is a board member of the association and helped plan the painting project). Most of the units are free-standing and made up of vinyl and brick siding with wood fascia, soffits, and other trim, including window trim. The work also included exterior doors and garage doors, gutters and downspouts. There were also a few privacy fences included. We got estimates from three companies, all A-rated on Angie's List. Jeff and Mike showed up promptly for the estimate and we were impressed by their professionalism. They showed concern that the job be completed as we wanted it done,and offered many suggestions as well. Their estimate was comparable to the other estimates we received, but we selected them based on their professional approach and willingness to do a few extra things for same price. We narrowed down the colors to three and they brought out actual samples of each for us to apply to the building to make our final selection. They started the work approximately when they said they would, and the whole job took about 2 weeks, as they had projected. They ended up replacing more of the rotted trim than we thought they might have to, but their carpenter did and excellent job and it's not noticable where the repairs have been done. After our final inspection, they promtly returned to address a couple of small concerns we had with the finished job. Throughout the entire work project they were neat, and they caused very little disruption to the residents. All residents are happy with the results.

The experience was good; they are a very responsive company. Their pricing was comparable to other quotes I got.

From the time of our first estimate by Jay, to follow up with owner Mike Hull and Jeremy Hull, and email conversations with Babs Hull in the office, we were treated professionally, courteously and always received quick responses. When the crew arrived to work, led by David, they were all so professional and friendly. They did their work quickly but very fastidiously. They cleaned up every night, leaving our place in pristine condition as they worked. We were very pleased with the entire team. You could tell that they took great pride in their work. We were very pleased with the entire process! We would recommend them for any of their work, and we will definitely call them again.
