Received a quote from Mike Hull in the fall of last year. Contacted them in the spring and started work in early May. The work was done exactly as requested. Insulation and Tyvek wrap was put in place. The new siding was installed and painted as requested. The final price was exactly what was qyoted. We are very satisfied with JD's work. The loft has become the room we wanted it to be. Thank you JD!

JD Hostetter & Associates were great to work with. Two months prior to the actual work, I contacted the company and worked out the details on what I wanted done. JD Hostetter provided repairs identified by a home inspector to complete the sale of our home. We were under a quick deadline to get an estimate of the repair costs and provide assurance of repairs to our home buyer. Very prompt and courteous from start to finish. They were very sensitive to the fact they were working on a deadline for the sale of a home. I appreciated the professionalism of the person who answered the phone, the gentlemen that provided the detailed estimate, and the timing/quality of the work completed. Very good experience ---first time to find a service provider based solely on Angie's List recommendations!

JD Hostetter painted the exterior of our house last summer. We were extremely happy with their work, and were sickened to have to spoil it by replacing flashing over a few windows this spring (we had a leaky winter). We gave them a call, got a timely and reasonable quote, and the job was done within a few weeks. Jeremy worked hard to touch up everything, and I can't tell any work was ever done on the windows. We are very satisfied customers!

It could not have gone better. Jeff, Mike and Babs were fantastic to work with from beginning to end up to and including working with our insurance company. Timeline below... September 2012 - Mike comes out to give us a painting quote. Turnaround was very quick and service excellent but we wanted to get one more winter out of the paint. April 10th 2012 - Unbeknownst to us as with others in our area the house was damaged by a very large hail storm. May 2012 - The team comes out to re-quote our paint work and notices the hail damage on the roof. May 2012 - Jeff meets our insurance adjuster at the house to walk thru all the particulars of a claim. This was much appreciated as it is not something we do often. June 2012 - Based on us travelling out of country we needed to get all the work done in June. Mike and Jeff completely rearranged their teams schedules to meet our needs. June 2012 - Roofers came first and took their time doing everything right followed closely by the fastest painting crew east of the Mississippi. Please Note: While the painters were fast, their work was exceptional. All in all we could not have asked for a better experience. These guys are certainly not the cheapest but the peace of mind that comes from working with a local contractor who you know will take care of you going forward was worth every dime. They came out immediately and gave me an estimate which was about the same as several others I waited a couple of weeks on. They fixed it within a week of me agreeing to have them do the work and did an excellent job. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

I can't say enough good things about our experience. Once I contacted them, they provided an estimate in two days. The price was beyond reasonable for the work that needed to be done. Both Babs and Mike followed up the estimate with e-mails to confirm I received their materials. The repairman they sent was wonderful. Incredibly polite, and did a meticulous job fixing our siding. He cleaned up everything, and left the house spotless. I highly recommend anyone who needs siding work to use JD Hostetter & Associates.I will definitely use them again for work on our house.

We were coordinating a multi-phase project that was still in the planning stages. New gutters were part of the consideration. Though the final plans put that aspect on hold for a later date, I was impressed with the contact I had with this company. They were courteous, professional, and reasonably priced. When we are ready for our new gutters, I would definitely consider following through with this company.

The actual work was fine and done quickly. They didn't need access to the house, so they came when they could and I was surprised at how quickly they worked. I was not at all happy with a couple things they did/didn't do when they left. First and most importantly they left both gates to our backyard open. Not knowing this, I let my dog out, who then proceeded to escape and chase a jogger down the street. Thankfully she was smart enough to sit by our front door until I noticed her out there. Second, they claimed to do a magnetic sweep of the yard where they worked to pickup any leftover nails. I believe they did this, because I didn't notice anything that day. However, they didn't clean out the nails from the gutter they installed. Instead, the rain washed them out the next time it rained and deposited these lovely nails in our backyard for anyone to step on. I was happy with the work, but these other two oversights are enough that we won't be hiring them again.

I'll start by saying I would go back to this company. Although I did have quite a learning experience during this process and my recommendations to people when starting a project like this on an older home is to know that once they get started there may be other expenses and to be prepared. The house I was having sided had some structural damage so this was driving the cost up. But the company was assuring in that they could fix it reasonably and quickly so as to move forward in completion of the job.

They did a good job painting and the price was fair, but the cleanup was below average. Only the foreman of the project spoke english and he was hardly ever available or willing to speak with me. I don't think that I would use this company again.

We were very pleased with the work. They were prompt and courteous. They were the best paint crew we've ever had for this house. We would definitely use them again.

When complications arose, Jeff was quick to respond and provide an agreeable resolution. It has been a little over a year since the doors and windows were installed and I noticed that there was some cracking in the drywall around the door, I called Jeff, he came to review the area and sent a guy out to repair it that week. We also had one screen that did not fit properly and Jeff ordered a new one. It was dropped off at our front door. If I had to do it over, I would order triple pane windows to block out more sound and I would use this company again.

I called for an estimate. They came out the next day and emailed an estimate. Once I decided to have them repair my siding, they came out as soon as the weather was clear and completed the work.

My experience was that this is a company I consult again if needed.

It went very well. Jeff called me a lot and he was pleasant and very easy to work with. He is honest and wants to do a good job.

The folks at JD Hostetter are friendly, professional, and courteous. They came out the very next day, quoted the job, and gave me a really nice packet that described the services that they offer. I contacted them and let them know that I wanted them to do the work and they came out the next day and finished it before the rain started again. They matched the siding so well that I almost couldn't tell which pieces were replaced. I won't know how well the leak was fixed until we get a strong storm from the North but the work that they did looks fantastic. They were so considerate that they even brought my trash cans from the road up to my garage before they left, which I thought was a really nice touch. I will definitely use this company again!

Painting: good to work with and great communication. We had identified another house that had the color we wanted and he approached a homeowner to find out the paint for us. We have cedar siding and they replaced some rotted boards. The only issue I had was the first day the crew used our hose to clean their brushes in our backyard - in our grass and landscaping. JD followed up immediately and no more issues, so I think responsiveness was very good. Would definitely recommend for painting. Gutters: the guy was very efficient and rerouted some downspouts for better drainage. Overall we are very pleased and trouble spots seem to be corrected. Would recommend. Roof estimate: based on prior experience, in 2013 we needed our roof replaced (hail) we reached out to JD. The communication and responsiveness wasn't as good as with our first experience. We had a difficult spot on roof with leaks that needed completely reworked and this really slowed down our time to get a quote. We really like this company, but they just didn't appear as savvy with negotiating insurance claims. That said, What I consider to be GOOD is that JD was very open that they would have to subcontract out the repair piece because of the complexity. We really appreciated his honest business approach. I would highly recommend them for painting and gutters. Although we went with a different company for our roof and I probably wouldn't utilize for a complex roof repair/build, I really would recommend them for roof/shingle replacements - they are good company to work with and I think they would do a really good job with straightforward replacements. I think their pricing was EXCELLENT compared to competitor quotes.

Crew of four arrived promptly to do all prep work which took about one half day. Next day, a crew of about 12 painted (brushed and/or rolled) the exterior with two coats of paint. All work, including a very thorough clean-up, was completed by 5 pm. The foreman and the crews were very friendly and explained each step and showed us any repairs that were made. A very professional job.

This company was very professional and efficient. I would hire them again.
