The paint crew did a great job painting all the trim on my two story house. My trim was weathered and had not been painted in quite some time.They took the time to prep all the surfaces properly so that when the final paint went on it looked much better than I had expected. Their work was very clean. I plan to use this company again.

I was happy with their quality work and the way they kept the property cleaned up while the project was underway. The crew was good about checking with me about my satisfaction as the job went along as well as offering helpful suggestions. JD Hostetter & Associates did a great siding job on my house.

After sending our first call, Jeff the owner came right away and gave us an estimate for the windows. At the beginning it was very confusing because we were dealing with three different people, Jeff, Brenda (in the office and in charge of all numbers) and Eric from the Pella company. It seemed to me that the three of them did not communicate well. A much better approach for everyone, I believe, will be if one person will be in charge of one costumer. Eventually everything was cleared up and the work began. The windows were done by a different person (I believe a sub-contractor). He was very efficient and in two days he replaced all windows. He left without noticing some imperfections. We needed to contact Jeff to inform them that a few screens were broken, sealing missing, one window was made incorrect etc. We felt, in part, we did the work of the contractor. One moth later the company Pella came and fixed all problems. It seems to me that the company needs more people working and in charge of the work to be done. The windows look great now however the reason we picked JD Hostetter, instead of Lowes or Home Depot for example, was to get a better costumer services. In that respect they were somewhat disappointing.

I received a recommendation of Mr. Hostetter from a friend, who lives in a condo complex where he completes a lot of work. Although many people in her complex are "old and grumpy", she has received nothing but glowing reviews from his work. I called and an estimate was completed quickly. I was 3 - 4 weeks out in the queue, partly due to a stretch of rainy weather. Once the work began, it was completed quickly, The crew power washed the house and deck one day, scraped and caulked the next day and painted within the week (again, there was a delay due to weather). The crew was very professional and competent. They found the door to my shed to be rotten and rebuilt and replaced the door the same day the rest of the work was completed. At the end of the day, the crew supervisor asked that I walk my property with him, to inspect the work. I offered to pay the remaining balance that day, but he asked that I wait a few days, to ensure I was happy with everything and that I would be contacted to ensure I was happy with the work. Great experience and I would hire again!

Throughout the process, from our initial contact to the final paperwork, JD Hostetter and their crews were punctual, professional and performed quality work.

This was a great job at a great price. The company was always available to answer questions (of which we had a lot of) and even answered e-mails on Sundays! We had lots of work that needed to be done, from replacing our gutters to installing new siding on the house to installing soffit vents, just to mention a few. We were also in a rush since we had installed hardwood floors and, due to some guttering that was never installed due to the design of the house, needed the new guttering put up since the rainy season was upon us so our crawl space underneath the new flooring would remain dry. Not only did they work us into their busy schedule, they did a superb job on everything they did!

Where do I begin? This has become a complicated situation and a huge inconvenience. My experience with JD Hostetter could not be more disastrous. This is the first time that I have been duped by an overall positive Angie?s List rating. I am restoring a house in Fountain Square, and had contacted JD Hostetter to obtain a quote for door and window installation, roof work, siding and gutter repair. A quote was sent on April 10th. My first clue should have been the quote which had incorrect and missing information. It stated that the front exterior door would be replaced, when I had specified the back exterior door. It didn?t include both windows that I needed to have replaced. Overall, it lacked detail. I was assured that the price quoted did include all of the components I asked about. The company required 50% deposit upfront, as well as a signed acceptance form confirming that I would be ?added on their schedule? for sometime in 2014. I called to ask if I could be ensured that the work would take place in a timely manner upon signing the agreement, and was assured that yes, they could schedule me within a month. I signed the agreement and provided a credit card, which they charged that day (April 21). One month later on May 20, I received an email stating that they had forgotten to have me sign a contract and that it was attached. I opened the contract, and it stated that work would commence on June 25th, over two months after I signed the agreement and paid 50%, and after they had originally committed to scheduling me within a month of charging my credit card. After having expressed my desire for the work to begin earlier, I was told that they would have to check and get back to me. Then, I began noticing roof and siding work being completed the week of May 26. They sided over both windows in the bathroom that they were to replace! This was after I had met with various contractors on 4 separate occasions (for different jobs ? siding, windows, doors) to go over repairs, specifics and let them take measurements. As soon as I noticed this error, I called them and left a message since it was after hours. 24 hours later, I had not heard back ? no acknowledgment of the mistake, no commitment to make it right, so I called again and left another message. Jeff Hostetter called me back within the hour, accepted responsibility for the miscommunication and committed to fix it. At that point, I thought that maybe this error and related lack of communication could have been a fluke. The glass block window install was scheduled at the beginning of this week for today, June 13th. I was to meet the contractor at 9 am this morning and it would be finished in about an hour. Fountain Square is an urban neighborhood just on the outskirts of downtown Indianapolis. Houses are close together, there is street parking only on one side of the street, and many homes have garages with alley access. (It?s not the suburbs so there?s limited parking!) I arrived around 8:45 and drove past a very disgruntled looking man parked a couple of houses down, wheeling a full-sized window on the street toward my house. I stopped, rolled down my window and asked if he was with JD Hostetter. He grumbled that he was, and exclaimed ?There?s nowhere to park in front of your house!? I suggested that he park on the other side of the street, right in front of the house, temporarily just to unload. He repeated ?there?s nowhere to park!? I replied that I was just trying to help and drove off to park. When I walked up to the house, he still seemed angry about the parking situation. I was a little stunned ? had he never parked downtown or unloaded materials in any other setting besides suburban where he could park in someone?s driveway? I suggested, again, that he park in front of my house on the other side of the street and put his hazard lights on. He finally agreed and moved his truck. He began unloading the doors and the larger replacement window, and throwing pieces of lumber from his pickup truck into my yard. I asked him how long he would be working and he said all day, very different from what I had planned for. I said that I was told that only the glass block window was being installed today. He said yes, but someone else was installing it. When the ?someone else,? who appeared to be another third party contractor arrived, I showed them where the glass block window was to be installed. He looked confused and said that they were under the impression that they were installing two glass block basement windows and that they had the wrong size and wouldn?t be able to install today. On top of that, the door for the storage closet off the rear of the house was ordered incorrectly and swung the wrong way. Again, this was after I had met with JD Hostetter contractors on 4 separate occasions to go over repairs, specifics and let them take measurements. My contact at JD Hostetter called me at 9:15, 30 minutes AFTER the disgruntled window and door installer drove up to my house, to tell me that she meant to call me yesterday to ask if it was ok if the other window and doors were installed today. The installer will be at my house all day today, and I had to be at work so I ended up leaving him a key. I hope and pray that at the very least he is able to follow my instructions and call me and lock the front door when he leaves. But so far, their track record would indicate otherwise. This service provider appears to outsource many jobs to other contractors and outside parties. The overriding issue is the blatant lack of communication and coordination between parties and with the customer.

Jeff was extremely timely with an estimate. His crew led by Tony was very hard working and did an excellent job on our house! We highly recommend this company!

Super service, great team replaced 19 window openings in ONE day! Neat and quality installation. Came back the next day to replace some inside trim to complete the job. VERY satisfied with this professional team. This is my third project, had my house painted and roof replaced in 2013 with outstanding results.

They did a great job! Loved that they moved furniture around to paint and then placed it all back. I also had them come back and they were prompt in responding. They cleaned up after themselves and even repaired a few boards that needed nailed in place. They were friendly as well.

They did an amazing job. We couldn't believe the transformation on the house. It went from a run down ranch to one of the nicest looking homes in the neighborhood! They were extremely easy to work with from the customer service in the office, to the estimator, to the painters themselves. Left the yard and property as they found it and drastically improved the home overall. Would highly recommend them to others and look forward to working with them in the future if we have any home painting needs.

We had our house painted by another company who missed a rotting board. I called them to fix it and they promised they would be back to take care of it. Never have seen them again!!! I contacted Mr. Hostetter on his website and he came to our house a couple of days later to give me a quote on the job. I explained that the painter had left the board undone and he wanted me to contact that company so I would not have to pay to have the work done which I thought was very kind of him. I chose to allow Mr. Hostetter do the work. I was put on a schedule to have the work done about a week later. The gentleman called me to let me know what time he would be at my home and was here on time. He explained to me what he was going to do, did it and let me know when he was done. I would use this company again!

We hired this company to paint the outside of our home. They did a great job and we are pleased with the finished product. The quality of their work looks great and I would highly recommend them.

They had a lot of weather challenges but it turned out great!!

First of all, I was amazed at how promptly Jeff got out to my house to do the estimate when I had been told by a couple of other companies that the job was too small and one person said they would do it but never showed to do the estimate. The workmanship looks really great and everything matches the old siding. I was kept informed of when he thought he was going to do the work which I really appreciated. I was really impressed by the professionalism and working with them was a pleasure. I would definitely use them again and recommend them.

The painters arrive and powerwashed the area to be painted. They then began a painstaking process of scraping and preparing the wood for the paint. The did an exceptional job in this area. They also replaced some wood beneath the gutters that had rotted. Again, they did an excellent job and appeared to really care about protecting our home from further damage. At the first sign of good weather, they started the painting. They primed the bare spots thoroughly and applied a second coat. Outstanding job!

Jeff and his team were great to work with. We had them quote a roof replacement last year and didn't end up using them, so we asked them back to repair some trim from an inspection report. They also caulked and painted these areas as well. I mentioned there were some areas I was not happy with to Brenda and she promptly sent someone back to resolve the issues. I am very happy with my experience and would recommend giving them a try!

Someone from the company came out to my house on a Wednesday afternoon. He was punctual and performed a thorough assessment. He informed me that I would be emailed a quote that evening. I did not receive a quote that evening. I waited two days because we all get busy and forget things. Meanwhile, the leak went unfixed. I called on Friday and spoke to the gentleman who came out to my house. He informed me that a quote would be forthcoming. It has now been over 6 days. No quote, no phone call. As a result, I have found another 'A' rated contractor who actually sent me a quote hours after he assessed the problem with my house. A waste of time for all parties involved.

Went extremely well. Tim came out initially and discussed the downspout runoff issue and proposed a solution. I could have had just this issue repaired, but decided to replace all guttering and downspouts. Installation crew was very good and scheduling with Brenda in the office went very well. Price was more than I would have preferred, but in all fairness, I did not get bids from other contractors. This may have been the going rate (or higher or lower)--I was impressed with the Angies List reviews and the initial response from Tim and wanted it done correctly.

They haven't done anything for me yet.

I asked for an estimate based on the excellent Angies List reviews about their paint jobs on historic homes. They were polite and prompt. Their bid was a little higher, but in line with our expectations for quality work. We ultimately chose another A rated provider we have used before and had a quick opening in their schedule.

They provided a quote in May and said that it would be 6-8 weeks until they could do the work. Because of all the rain we had they ran behind and it was 10-12 weeks before they could do the work. They power washed and caulked one day. They came back on Monday and painted and stained and repaired the rotten wood. We were pleased with their work.

Everyone was extremely professional and kind. We so appreciated the teams willingness to complete our project request in a short amount of time. They did a great job cleaning up too. The price felt a bit high in comparison to other estimates, but we were looking for a well experienced team, flexibility, and quality work. They delivered on all fronts, and it was worth it for us.
