JD Hostetter and company removed the old siding on my home and replaced it with cement board siding. The installation of the new siding was done in timely manner and the quality the work was outstanding. The crew that installed the siding was very professional and polite. The job site was cleaned up at the end of each day and at the completion of the job. As soon as weather allowed, the paint crew arrived and painted the new siding and trim on my home. Like the siding crew, they did an outstanding job and were professional and polite. This is the 3rd time our family has used JD Hostetter. Previously they have done siding and painting at 2 of my sons homes. JD Hostetter's quality of the work, timeliness and professionalism is why our family has used and will continue to use this company.

Jeff was very professional and easy to work with. His wife Brenda manages all of the quotes and paperwork, and is also very easy to work with. We wanted the work completed before we went away on vacation, and Jeff and his crew worked very hard to accommodate us. We are thrilled with the Hardi Plank siding. There were a couple issues that arose during installation ( I didn't like how the trim looked), and Jeff corrected it without question. Also, there was a painting spot that was missed, and Jeff promptly sent his painters out to correct it, as soon as the weather allowed. His painting crew was great, and I appreciate Jeff's timeliness of addressing issues. We are very satisfied!

Our home went from being just another white aluminum sided house, to a vision of what could be for our neighborhood in West Indy! We talked to several different contractors, some that were overly expensive, and some that would not give us the full scope of the work to be done. From the moment Jeff stepped onto our property, we could tell we were working with a straight shooter, that was not going to try and sell us something we did not need, and had our best interest at heart. We were wanting to go with a bold red, but were unsure how to coordinate the soffits, gutters, facia, etc. Once the work started, aside from the weather causing minor delays, the process went very smoothly and the quality of the work is fantastic! Hostetter & Associates did a fantastic job on repainting the exterior of our home. They also replaced some wood trim. Their staff and workers were kind and courteous. The job was done quickly and efficiently. We would not hesitate to recommend them for any of their services. Great company!

They were fantastic! Extremely responsive. I contacted three painting companies for estimates and this is the only one that actually followed through. Though I must admit another company did try to contact me, but our daughter had come down with the flu. We aren't going to have any work done until the weather warms up, but their estimate was so professional and thorough!

We can't say enough about our relationship with JD Hostetter. Mr Hostetter performed exterior painting on our home. We were so pleased with his and his crew's professionalism, work ethic, and positive communication that we also hired him to install gutter covers and attic insulation and to repair drywall with interior painting. We give JD Hostetter our highest recommendation.

Mr. Hostetter was very professional, friendly in making appointment and quoting job. Actually was able to start work a week and a half earlier than originally promised. This helped greatly in scheduled completion of entire job. John was the carpenter on our job. He was very thorough and easy to work with. I would definitely plan on calling this company for any future repair work that we might need.

This is a great company to work with - they came out quickly to look at our problems, provided quote and solutions within a few days. When we asked if they could do the work now (before winter weather) and wait to invoice us in January 2015 (due to budget) they were very agreeable. We contacted 3 different companies from Angie's List - one called and said they couldn't come out at all as they were too busy. The second one came out but never got back with an estimate. So, it was very refreshing to actually work with nice people who do a good job and are flexible! Love them - would recommend this company to anyone, anytime.

I unexpectedly ended up not needing this new roof deal due a compromise worked out with buyers of the home this deal was intended for. However, JD Hostetter & Associates has been very helpful in taking the time to inspect the roof on my residence - a different home - and offering to coordinate with my insurance adjuster regarding hail damage that they found.

He is still in process of making some touch ups to my house and will be back in the spring to finish. Overall I have been satisfied with his work and his pricing was also very fair and reasonable. Seems to be very professional and I am hopeful and confident everything will turn out fine.

The work was done very well. A rotten board was replaced and other boards repaired on a house we just moved into. a thorough job and cleaned up like they had never been here.

Wow, a new experience for us. Initial contact was made via email, a doorbell ring one afternoon found Mr. Hostettler having done a walk around with notes for follow up quote in hand. Interesting that he had not been up on the roof to see the water leak issue but said his men would take care of it. Quotes arrived two days later via email, a few questions with replies lead to signing and deposit committment. Roof repair quote indicated schedule date of 10-30-14 and Exterior Paint scheduled for 11-13-14. What a surprise to have the doorbell ring mid morning October 17th . . . a group of several men had arrived to work on our roof repairs. I never was quite sure who the in charge person and felt they had not been totally advised of contracted detail as a water 9ogged board under the down spout needed replacing. However, when asking about the board I was informed it was the job of the "paint team". So they installed new spouting to be removed by the paint crew? I don't know when this crew left as I looked out to find things cleaned up and them gone? Next "surprise" was another doorbell ring on the morning of October 22nd, eight men all over the place and multiple ladders surrounding our home, they were here to power wash the siding and "to be" painted trim. David, the "in charge" person, also seemed unaware of complete job details. With only two power washers extra men were everywhere goofing around, including several in the back wooded area with obvious personal usage of same. Power wash done and advised they would return the next morning, a call just before noon on the 23rd from David saying he had been out and the trim and gutters were still too wet. (I had not seen nor heard him if he had been here!) Nine o'clock the morning of the 24th another good size group of men arrived to begin painting. They kept saying David would be coming . . . in fact they had done what they could do and hung around "waiting" for several hours, finally about 3 o'clock David arrived with replacement board trim to finish job. A walk around with David found a couple of areas that had been missed with second paint coat, this was quickly fixed and they were out of here by a little after 4 o'clock. Interesting they indicated there was no extra paint? Touch up by us will mean purchasing another can of paint? Overall review, the work that was done was well done, however, there certainly seemed to be a lack of professionalism with the various crews that appeared and disappeared. Our only contact with Mr. Hostetter was the day he came to check our repair needs. It does make one wonder about overall supervision and quality of work being done by his crews and if perhaps a customer might have more of a say on a crew used or not used? It is with mixed emotions that we would consider using this company again, office contact about leftover paint has lead to "there was none" and now no communication with questions on the same issue. The only other issue would be an obvious language barrier with the one crew and often a sense that perhaps I may have been laughed at among them?

When Mike (company representative) first came to look over house and take measurements, it was obvious he was detailed, very courteous, and knowledgeable about what was being asked. Questions were patiently answered, and he was available to answer questions after that initial visit, even before I had formally decided to go with the company. The timeframe for doing the work was realistic for what was being done, and the work was started and completed within the time line that was initially communicated. The worksite was cleaned at the end of each day of work. The owner, Jeff Hostetter, visited the house at least on two different occasions -- both Saturdays -- to look over what had been done. Two videos were posted on their website talking about the siding and roofing parts of the overall project. And the house looks great! I have had a number of people look at it and all have said it looks like a new house. Considering the house is over 70 years old, that's saying something. I am very pleased, will use them again, and highly recommend them to anyone.

The new siding looks great! There were a few small things that weren't perfect that we mentioned and they came back out and fixed them to our satisfaction. The painters were thorough and very careful. They even fixed a downspout for me, that wasn't part of the contract! Impressed with the work and the office was very easy to work with. I would recommend!

The crew, led by David, arrived as scheduled and just went right to work. David kept me informed daily of what was happening and they worked up to 10 hours each day with up to 10 men on the job. It was quite impressive. They finished the job in one week. We did a walk around the property at the end and I only found some very minor issues, which they addressed to my satisfaction immediately. They also did a very nice job of cleanup each evening. I would highly recommend this crew.

Our experience with Jeff Hostetter and his crew was a positive one from the beginning. He was very prompt responding to our call and also with setting up a time frame that worked for us. We were looking for a company that could do all our work so we would have only one contractor to deal with, and Jeff certainly fit that requirement. The roofers and siding crew coordinated their work so no time was wasted. Our roof required not only tearing off 2 layers of shingles but also installing new support beams and decking. Even with all this work the crew finished in one day and did a great job. Tony and his crew did the siding and we couldn't be happier with the results. Tony did a wonderful job with detail work around the windows and doors. All of the workers were prompt, polite and hard workers. Jeff did a wonderful job coordinating all the work and making sure we were happy. We are extremely happy with the transformation of our home and will definitely look to JD Hostetter & Associates the next time we are in need of repair or updating.

JD Hostetter is a high quality organization. They worked with me extensively during my vendor selection process even though the job was relatively small. The project was very successful and I am quite pleased with the results. As with any project there were issues along the way, but the organization handled things very well and left me with a feeling of complete satisfaction. Their representatives emphasized customer satisfaction very clearly and it showed in the way they treated me. I have no reservations in recommending them for similar work, A+!

Wonderful from start to finish! I can't say enough positive about this company. This is the second time we've used them, the first was for exterior painting and new gutters and we still love the job they did then. But this was such a transformation from cheap 3-tab shingles to architectural style, high quality ones made to withstand 130mph wind and the highest hail rating. Many times you expect to pay more for premium service, but Jeff and Brenda gave very fair pricing. And a relative remarked afterwards they did a much better cleanup than their roofing company did. We never worried about pulling into the driveway and picking up a nail. Excellent all the way around.

We had three companies give us estimates on replacing our 32 year old cedar siding with hardy plank siding. JD Hostetter & Associates received the winning bid. We were a little concerned with their price as they were so far under one of the bids we received. The company with the highest bid said that siding companies always under estimate and then will add on to their price once the job is underway. Quite the contrary with JD Hostetter. We had them do some additional work at our request and our final price was very fair and not to much over the estimated cost. The crew that was at our house was always timely, hard working, and respectful. They left every day with a clean work area. The work was completed in a timely manner. We would highly recommend JD Hostetter & Associates to anyone that is thinking about replacing their siding.

JD Hostetter was prompt and professional to deal with. Our gutters were installed as promised, within budget. We would definitely use them again in the future.

After discovering that the siding on our four-year-old house was a faulty product and required complete replacement, we contacted JD Hostetter. We hired them two years ago to repaint our house (in an effort to deal with the siding problem), and were very impressed with the quality of their work. This time around, they didn't fail to impress us once again. Jeff was very sympathetic to our situation, was always immediately available when we had questions or concerns, and made us feel like we were his only clients. Isis, the job foreman, and his team worked extremely hard, and the project moved along efficiently and stayed on schedule. Isis explained everything in detail along the way, and was very patient in regards to our questions. Obviously, after such an experience, we were very anxious about the project and concerned that we might have problems again in the future. Not once did either Jeff or Isis appear to lose patience with our incessant questions. When water damage was discovered under the removed siding, Isis walked us around the house and showed us what needed to be done to repair it. At this point, it would have been easy to scam us into creating more repairs than necessary, since all we could see was wet particle board. Isis explained that they would remove all the wet rotted segments of particle board and would repair any water damage that had penetrated behind the particle board. They got to work on this while I wasn't home, and when I checked on the project later they had already repaired one side of the house. When I asked about the rot, Isis said it wasn't as bad as they feared, and that the rot they had encountered so far had been superficial and not penetrated the particle board. There was only one spot on the house with deeper rot, which we were immediately shown before any work was done. Jeff had a mold specialist out in less than 24 hours to check for mold. Luckily, we didn't have any mold, and Isis's team was able to repair all the damage. During the siding removal, Isis alerted us to the fact that in addition to having faulty siding, our siding had been installed without ANY flashing. (Sort of explained all the leaky windows when it rained, but didn't explain what our builder did last spring when he supposedly replaced flashing above leaky windows.) Isis was a real trooper when I had the builder out to confront him about all this, and answered the builder's (sometimes insulting) questions with extreme professionalism. I'm grateful for the unusually rainy summer, which has given us plenty of opportunities to check for leaks since the completion of the project. I'm happy to say our house has stayed dry through every downpour. We will DEFINITELY use this company again in the future, and will absolutely recommend them to anyone who asks!

Jeff was a huge help to us by working with our insurance company to have several different types of damage to our home repaired after a severe hail storm last year. He was very knowledgeable and professional - the painting crew, the gutter crew, and the window specialist were all very good craftsmen who made sure we were satisfied with their work and cleaned up after they were finished.
