IndyAsh: Emerald Ash Borer Treatment Solutions

We had several local companies provide quotes for the services. The prices ranged from less than $1000 to over $6000. All companies indicated that all our trees needed treatment. The companies varied on the method to be used as well as the prices. Indy Ash Borer was somewhere in the middle with it's pricing. We chose not to use any of the companies originally contacted and have since retained the services of another tree company for these services.

The treatment seems fine, but the overall effect won't be known until the two year time period expires

I didn't choose this company because they were the lowest price, but because they were the most knowledgeable of the insect wrecking havoc on our community. Were very professional and helpful.

It took awhile to hear a response back from them regarding my quote inquiry. Once they provided the quote and I gave the go ahead the process went very smoothly. I was contacted a day prior to the treatment. I requested a call ahead about a hour prior to arrival which occurred. They treated the tree and a few days later received a notification from them in regards to when the next treatment will be scheduled. Great knowledge of the issue and very professional.

They did a fine job. Very professional, told us the pricing up front for a 2 year treatment. Our trees were large diameter (both over 20 years old). Got it done in a few hours.

They came to treat one of three of our Ash Trees. We felt that the other 2 were beyond saving. However, the arborist explained why she felt the other 2 were worth saving. Their pricing made the investment in treating and giving the other 2 trees a chance an easy decision. The challenge is that we will not know if the treatments are effective for another season or two.The arborist really seemed to love her trees and care about saving them.

They were great. Personable, professional, and prompt. I wanted them to add a higher concentration (and more injection sites) of the Tree-age product (according to the manufacturer's recommendation I researched online) for the size of my tree. I enjoyed watching them drill holes for the injections and watching them treat the tree.

They did what they said they were going to do. They were very pleasant to work with. They did directive. My only contact with them was over the phone and I wasn’t here when they did the work. I got a big deal coupon from Angie’s List and I didn’t pay anything.

They did an alright job. Everything seemed to work out well and they were professional.

Having read about the emerald ash borer and about Indy Ash, we called them. They called back later that day, were out the next day to survey our trees and explain their services. We have 10 mature ash trees and do not want to lose them. My neighbor also contacted them and when all the trees were put together on adjoining job tickets, a discount was provided by Indy Ash. They came out within a couple of days and treated all our trees. Because the treatment needs to be done every other year for several years until the ash borers have moved on, we will not know the whether the treatment was successful or not. We're counting upon their quality of service and their knowledge of this problem. I untreated trees in Indianapolis are destined to be infected and die, then our investment will be worth it.

The consult and experience was very good. IndyAsh did a great job explain my options and how I should measure the trees for them to provide an estimate. The cost was reasonable and the service was done on time.

Went very well, they called promptly, made an appointment, and kept the appointment, completing the work during a driving rainstorm that lasted the whole length of their stay! I did not have to be home from work for them to do the job, but was home with a sick child, and kept looking out from window watching them work in that rain!

We had 3 different estimates, there were different treatments proposed. We decided the less expensive treatment would be sufficient and Indy Ash had recommended a treatment that was more and cost more. They were professional and on time. They had a lot of information.

I saw an Angie's List article on the emerald ash borer. I have an ash tree in my front yard and don't want to pay to have it removed when it is healthy. My only problem with Indy Ash was getting in touch with them. I sent an email and didn't receive a reply. I called and spoke with a man who clearly didn't have any idea about the emerald ash borer or treatments. He did take my information however and I received a call from the owner who arranged to come out and treat my tree. They treated my tree while I was at work and left an invoice. I haven't seen any evidence that my tree is infested, but I am glad that it will be protected.

We estimated what it would be and it ended up being more because of the size of the trees. The only thing that I thought was not professional was that they brought their dog. They didn’t expect the dog to get out of the car, but as we started walking in yard towards the trees, the dog came running out of the car. He took the dog back and put in the car, but it got out again. So, they just left the dog out. It went right into my gardens and peed on my ferns. I was just kind of surprised. If it was some other dog, I would have screamed at it. They were apologetic and tried to control it. It was a good dog. The rest of the time, it just sat in my yard beside them and didn’t bother anybody. It was a young couple; husband and wife team. They gave me all the information that I needed. I thought that I had three ash trees, but they identified two more bigger ones because of which it ended up being more.

I bought a Groupon for this work and saved about 50% of the cost. Everything went very well. We had scheduled a day, but it was too dry for the application, so we rescheduled and the gentleman came out on a Sunday - greatly appreciated. Right after the work was done on my trees, I read that the City of Indianapolis was going to treat its trees. I would like to know if Indy Ash uses the same prevention that was used by the city.

Went great. Got deal from Angie's List. Guy came. Explained everything he was doing. Told about his experience and training. Did the work. Left. Nice guy. Seemed very knowledgeable about the trees. Would use him again (if he's still in the business in 2 years AND if I can remember his name by then.)

The work went fine as far as I could tell. I can’t tell what they were injecting and whether has any positive value. The fellow who came was very nice. I watched him injecting tree and all looked fine to me. The fellow who was doing the work was straight forward and he was happy to show what he was doing. I was curious to see what kind of procedure they were using. The special deal was very good. As far as I could tell assuming it does what it says it is going to do. It is good return for the expense. They are very professional. They came right when they said they were going to.

Indy Ash came out and serviced our trees (and the neighbors). They did it in one day, and there was not mess. They will call us when the trees need service again. Very help with our many question.. Will us them agian.

They were willing to answer questions and explain their procedures. They arrived on time and worked all day to treat this many trees. They were professional and courteous in all our dealings with them. The trees that were not likely to survive were not treated.

It went great. Everything went exactly as it was planned. A hole was drilled in each tree, they were then injected and the holes were plugged. We have been placed in their database so they will remind us to schedule a treatment in two years which is how long the treatments last.

I had a little trouble scheduling the appt. (they were overwhelmed with responses from their Angie's Big Deal offer). However, once scheduled, they arrived on time and professionally performed the service. I will use them again in the future.

The people who treated the trees were professional and answered all of the many questions that we had about the ash trees and how the treatment works. The effectiveness of this method of treating trees for the Emerald Ash Borer is REPORTED to be very effective. Unfortunately we will not personally know how effective it is until we see the untreated trees die and the treated ones live. That will probably be 6 to 8 years in the future. In the mean time, we will have to continue to pay out this same amount every 2 years for the next 10 years. It will be a BIG investment.

Watched them treat neighbor - talked to the technition. Decided to check it out. Called for appointment. They arrived on time - verified my Ash tree was the correct type - in danger. Quoted a reasonable price to treat - Scheduled for the work to be done (on a Saturday) On the date - they arrived and treated - didn't hear them until it was done - paid and they were on their way. No muss - no fuss.

The treatment went very well, as described beforehand.
