Thanks for reviewing DirectBuy! We appreciate the feedback. We care about what our members think. You matter! We know that sometimes our suppliers may take longer to ship something. However, the service staff at DirectBuy feels that communication is key! We will notify you and try to make your experience the best! You matter and it easy to shop at DirectBuy. A key differentiator of DirectBuy is that we provide our members the ability to order products directly from the manufacturers and distributors. This is the foundation of our company. Buying direct means that DirectBuy does not carry any inventory, everything is delivered from the manufacturer or distributor’s inventory, or it’s built to order. Our members are not limited to the products we choose to sell or what is best for our inventory needs. Additionally, the added costs of the traditional retail model including inventory expense, warehousing, local retail inventory, etc. are all bypassed. Once the manufacturer receives the order, it is pulled from their inventory and shipped. In the case of custom built products, the manufacturer must set a schedule for completion and shipment. The majority of our members receive their orders well before the estimated date. We aim to exceed expectations like this! However, we know that shipping delays may occur. Delays, which accounted for less than five percent for the month of July 2014, are communicated to the members immediately. The most common causes for delays in shipment of DirectBuy orders include: • Production delays at the manufacturer: The production of custom products can be subject to delay. Some retailers actually limit the customable products to those that they know ship quickly and regularly. DirectBuy chooses to not limit our member’s creativity and selection, but this can sometimes result in longer lead times for these custom ordered products. • Delay due to imported products: DirectBuy’s selection is often a larger part of the manufacturer’s catalog. At times, specialty products in transits get delayed in customs. When delivery time is priority for a member, Product Specialists are available to assist. They can identify alternate products which are readily available. • The manufacturer was out of stock: On occasion, this happens and it’s a disappointing experience. We work closely with our suppliers to constantly update our product lists, but this still can happen. Our local club staff and Product Specialists then work with the member to identify a replacement and if necessary, cancel the order. Products shipped to our club locations are inspected to ensure mint condition. If there’s any imperfection, we take action to get it rectified as quickly as possible. DirectBuy works with the manufacturer until the problem is resolved. All merchandise is covered by manufacturer’s warranty (when applicable). For those larger home projects, DirectBuy refers installation services through its network of outside local suppliers, contractors and installers. Recognizing that our members deserve the highest levels of support in the ordering & shipping process, we communicate with you and try to follow every order to ensure a timely delivery!
