Description of Work: They provided for obtaining a bow window from a local contractor at a reasonable price. Window was ordered to fit, stained, installed and meets our needs for a wood interior and maintenance free vinyl exterior.

Description of Work: Direct Buy facilitates buying at manufacturer prices. The service that they provide is making available those products at those prices. It amounts to substantial savings but it all depends on the taste of the consumer and the price range that they shop at. As far as Direct Buy themselves, they do a very good job returning/repairing faulty products for me, going to bat for you with the manufacturer etc. and do it very well. | |If you are going to purchase $1000 worth of furniture, you will definitely save about $300-350 but if you purchase $500 worth of furniture, you might save just about $150-200. Percentage wise, close but the higher the consumer's shopping range, the more the savings. There is quite a hefty price to pay for purchasing membership at Direct Buy, in the few thousands as a one time cost in the beginning. So, you need to know how much purchasing you are going to do in order to first break even, and then come out ahead on your membership costs. | |Then, there is the annual fee that they can raise any time they want, which amounts to a couple hundreds of dollars every year. So, in essence, if you are building a home, or make enough money to spend thousands of dollars every year on home improvement, this membership is for you. The durable items like carpet, upholstery, furniture etc. is where you save the most. Then, they have member club savings where a 30% savings member price is further discounted to 40% off what you would find in most retail stores. However, large items do come with shipping and freight costs that need to be factored in. For example, a furniture set online would cost $2000 with free shipping but COULD cost $1300 with Direct Buy but with $300 shipping and freight and taxes, you have to factor those in while calculating savings. Besides, manufacturers do an outstanding job of changing model numbers and names so that consumers cannot comparison shop between Direct Buy and retail outlets, especially when it comes to furniture. | |I have bought enough big items like treadmills, mattresses, chandeliers, furniture etc. to break even over the years but the membership prices have gone up since I signed up for them ten years ago. You have to evaluate for yourself as to what spending habits you can sustain on an annual basis to justify the costs of membership and annual renewal. | | |

Description of Work: As a Direct Buy member, we ordered 2 new office chairs. They were delivered into Direct Buy and we picked them up there. We have been Direct Buy members since 2004 and couldn't be more pleased with the quality and price of the items we have purchased, as well as the super service that we have had from all members of the Direct Buy team. We have saved literally thousands of dollars!

Description of Work: they were more expensive than i was lead to blieve. they are great salesman but had trouble in contacting person to place an order and great deal of trouble getting out of contract. i only purchased one item. the quality of item was excellent, but it wasn't worth the trouble for me. i as now out of contract and happy. having to pay for contract and item, does not make items less costly.
