We knew our furnace was old and were investigating replacement hoping that it would last one more season, but finally our furnace went out on a Saturday in January. Technician Christian came and replaced an overide switch. However when that did not completely solve the problem, we decided that we did not want to put anymore into the existing furnace and asked for an estimate to replace it. Having already received 2 other estimates previously, we felt the Hughes estimate was reasonable especially since it included the replacement of the evaporator coil and Mr. Hughes waived the charge for the service call and the replacement switch. We felt that Christian had competantly explained the problem with the old furnace and when he said he would be the one to install the new one, we contracted the work. He returned on Monday with a helper and completed the work . However there were some complications because a valve broke on the old air conditioner and the helper misstepped in the attic and went through the ceiling. Mr. Hughes came out to assess the damage, said he would have someone fix the ceiling, gave a $100 extra off the furnace price for our time and trouble, and said he would not charge for labor to replace the valve, only the cost of the valve and that we could wait until spring to do that, It took about two weeks for the ceiling job to get done, but it was well done and we did not have to completely pay for the furnace job until the ceiling was finished. Though there were some inconveniences overall, being able to get the furnace replaced within our means made the inconveniences acceptable and I liked being able to assess the person who did the install previous to contracting the service. Come spring, we do hope to not just replace the valve on the air conditioner but to be able to replace the air conditioner itself using the same technician. Mr. Hughes gave us a reasonable estimate for that that does not expire until May 1 which I think is generous.

They are very professional. It's a small company that is really good at answering questions. They have given us suggestions. They are really nice and easy to work with.

Wow - now that is service!! The motor went out around 2pm on Saturday (it smelled like electrical burning). We called Hughes first since they had done routine cleaning before. I left a message on their machine and got a return call within 10 minutes. Kenny Hughes booted up the computer to see our records. He talked to my husband about the problem, got model and serial # and diagnosed it right over the phone. Kenny stated that it was a custom motor and all the parts placed are closed at noon on Sat. It would be $200 extra just to open and get a part on emergency. We decided to wait until Monday and stay with relatives while the furnace was out. We expected them at 8:30 on Monday. I got a call close to 9 saying they were a few blocks away. They service guy already had the part and said he would be done in 20-30 minutes. It took about 45 minutes with the cleaning and checking the unit. This is what I call outstanding service: diagnoses over the phone; arriving with the correct part; completing the job accurately in under an hour. On Saturday, we called another service just to see if we could get it fixed earlier. They wanted to do a service call. When I asked what they could possibly do since we knew the problem, I was told they could patch in a different motor until Monday. I like that they offered a solution, but I worried that an incompatible motor would cause further damage to the entire unit. Thanks Hughes!

They installed the system quickly and at a reasonable cost. I had some problems with the thermostat and it took a couple days longer than I would have liked for them to come back out. I have found that the product has already began saving me money. I have been happy with their services.

Mr. Hughes arrived on time between his 8-12 window and applied his diagnostic system to see why our furnace was not working. He showed me the furnace filter (that we had not changed since the installation 3 years ago), and he explained that since the furnace could not move any air, the computer board that regulates the furnace had burned itself out. That part was under warranty, so he just charged me for the house call, diagnostics and the new filter. They are always very pleasant. He explained to me that if we had bought their $150 per year for two check ups and filter cleanings, that he would not be there today, and he is right. This was our fault, but he did not make me feel bad in the least. I like this small business. They are family owned, and I trust them completely.

They beat any competitor pricing! They were professional, friendly and great to work with!

It went great. The work was installed quickly. There were no problems to date with new equipment.

Did a fine job cleaning. Also did my electrostatic filters that he usually said is done by the homeowner. He showed the correct way to clean them and told me how often to do it. Not impressed with the quote - flex-duct up a 2-story vertical is not efficient.

THEY ALWAYS RESPOND TO OUR CALLS AND WHEN THEY GIVE US A DATE THAT THEY WILL COME, THEY ALWAYS COME AT THAT TIME. THE WORK IS PROFESSIONALLY DONE. THEY STAY AND WORK AT IT UNTIL THEY GET THE JOB DONE. THE CHARGE IS REASONABLE.

HE WAS GREAT, AND WAS PROFESSIONAL, DRESSING WELL AND WENT STRAIGHT TO HIS JOB. HIS FATHER OWNS THE COMPANY. HE HAD A NICE LOOKING TRUCK.

THE ESTIMATE WAS DONE PROMPTLY.THE PRICE WAS ABOUT THE SAME AS THE BID WE ACCEPTED. HOWEVER THE WARRANTY THEY OFFERED WAS SHORTER. THIS WAS A VERY CLOSE CALL.

VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. EVEN REMINDING ME TO CALL HIM IN THE FALL FOR HEATING MAINTENANCE.

WE'RE REPEAT CUSTOMERS BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HIRED THEM FOR A MAJOR PROJECT. KENNY & JASON ARE AWESOME! WE FELT THEY WERE FAIRLY PRICED. THEY'RE VERY HARD, SERIOUS WORKERS & PERSONABLE, ON TOP OF IT ALL. I HAD FORGOTTEN THAT THEY WERE HIRED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNERS TO INSTALL OUR FURNACE & AIR FOR THE MAIN FLOOR. WE'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH EITHER. WE'VE ALSO HAD KEN DO SERVICE WORK IN THE PAST.

KEN HUGHES WENT TO MEIJER AND GOT ME A BOX OF FILTERS I WOULD BE NEEDING LATER.
