Description of Work: I am only writing this review because Angies List thinks I used this customer due to a software mistake. I asked them to take it off my profile because I keep getting a pop-up to review this company even though I never heard of them or used them. They say they cannot at this time, so I am writing this review to stop the pop-up!

Description of Work: These guys are great, especially for older homes. Another plumber came before Hope and failed to fix out drain. Hope fixed it right away.

Description of Work: We made contact but never got together, I was a little confused about it and had a very busy schedule. I will contact them again this week, hoping theyw ill still honor my "deal." I will further my comments after I get their service. I do not feel this report is complete.At this time I could not get form to submit unless completed all fields. I do think it is important to follow up on these "deals" for both parties. I will request further info from Angie as well.

Description of Work: Installation of a shower valve. Very professional and easy to communicate with. Roger called in the morning estimate of when he would arrive, which was very helpful. Price was very reasonable for the work done, and it was done very well. I highly recommend Hope Plumbing.

Description of Work: Called on 5/9/2012 for an appointment to have my hot water heater serviced. A live person answered the phone after the second ring. The person who answered the phone transferred me to service when I asked her a question. The service person answered the phone after one ring and answered my question. He quoted me a price of $255. He was able to make the appointment for me on Friday per my request. Roger, the service man, called ahead and said he would be 30 minutes. He was on time. He reviewed with me what I wanted done and he went to work. I really enjoy someone who knows what he is doing! Part of the service was replacing the anode rod inside the water heater. Whirlpool did not make it easy to replace the rod. Roger was able to pull out of his truck an oversize wrench and a piece of PCV pipe to give him extra leverage to get the rod out. It was like he had a check list in his head and went through the steps. Roger also carried on a casual conversation during the visit. It made the time pass by faster. The bill was exactly what was quoted $255. It was also refreshing that he did not have to suggestive sell all these extra services to me like larger service companies do when they come out to the house. I now have a plumbing service I feel comfortable calling out to the house.

Description of Work: The people who own and run this company are very pleasant to deal with. Another reason to use this company is that they treat their employees very well. They have a good health insurance coverage and also retirement plan.

Description of Work: Requested that Hope Plumbing install a new faucet in our kitchen sink. Roger arrived on schedule asked why we wanted the new faucet? I showed him that there was very low water pressure. He told me that it is a good faucet and showed me a secondary filter screen that had become clogged (I had checked the primary screen), all that was needed was for the screen to be cleaned out. Roger cleaned the screen, and tightened the connections. While he was there and I was paying for his time I asked if we could install a tankless water heater. Roger saved me a few hundred dollars in time and cost of the faucet. I am confident that many of the big corporate plumbing operations would have gone for the "bigger score" and just put in the new faucet or up sell me to something that I did not need. I like the fact that Hope is in the neighborhood and they will be my go to plumbers going forward.

Description of Work: They are as good as advertised and know the plumbing business. The technician was able to repair a 54 year old tub faucet that, if replacement was required, would have been quite costly in that the surrounding tile would also have needed repair. I, very much, appreciated their expert work with the faucet and clearing a clogged sink line.

Description of Work: I had a leak under the kitchen sink and also had leaking under the same sink when I used the hose on the outside faucet. Ended up needing a new faucet for part of the leaking. The outside leak ended up just needing to tighten a loose nut under the sink. I did not get the faucet replaced as I didn't have one picked out and am considering a face lift to my kitchen. As for the loose nut it did take awhile for me and the plumber to get on the same page. At one point there was talk about cutting a hole in the drywall and looking for a leak. Thankfully we got on the same page and didn't do any unnecessary investigation. I ended up just paying a service call.

Description of Work: We purchased a 'Big Deal" to have a tankless water heater installed. The crew arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The service tech (Brad) explained what our options were and the pros and cons of each. They removed our old water heater and had the new one installed in about two hours. They cleaned up after themselves. We we're so impressed with their work that we've scheduled them to come back and install a water softner. A coworker of mine just had a tankless water heater installed and paid $3500 so I felt like we got a great deal.

Description of Work: As the Lord is my witness, I will never call another plumber. It is astounding. Whoever owned our house in the past, he or she jerryrigged the pipes that attach to the water meter in our basement. The water company learned about it and demanded that we change this by putting in something called a “yoke”. We first called Metzler, who gave us two options: first, replace all the pipes from street to meter and move the meter to the front yard, for $6000; or second,install a yoke for $1600, with the knowledge that: (a) and there was a significant risk that the pipes connected to the meter, made of galvanized steel from 1929, would break while they were attempting to install the yoke; and (B) all the pipes would in all likelihood need to be replaced imminently, from street to house, and a new meter installed outside our house. And when that happens, as it might at any moment, the $1600 spent would be for naught, and we would have to pay the $6000 in any event. We called Hope Plumbing, whose logo is “specializing in older homes,.” Jack, the owner, called up the water company to find out exactly what needed to be fixed, and came and fixed it for $429, cheerfully and with no fear-mongering -- explaining the risks, possibilities, and probabilities in a crisp and transparent way. In addition to working promptly and cleanly, Jack and his assistant Brad were delightful to talk to. Jack it turns out teaches a course on philosophy at IUPUI, and so can do plumbing and metaphysics simultaneously. He has spent some time studying the different ways in which medical risks can be explained to potential patients, and how different modes of presentation can direct the listener one way or another. He is an ethicist who is ethical. I feel that my tax dollars spent on IUPUI were well spent.

Description of Work: Consulted with me to help me decide what would be the best water heater to install in my home. They were aware of a rebate through the gas company and also aware of a tax credit for filing in 2011. This helped reduce my overall cost of the water tank and allowed me to purchase a more expensive, better unit due to their knowledge of what would qualify for the credit and rebate. They arrived on time as promised, very neat with install, very courteous and answered all my questions. They also took the old unit away. They bent over backwards to try to have the new water installed same day I called due to my unit leaking and having company over.
