They came within 2 hours and found the main pipe and found some tree roots that intruded into the pipe. They came very quickly, took care of everything, and did a great job.

The mechanic, Ross, arrived at 9 am the day I requested. He figured out where the problem was quickly, and set to work clearing the drain. Our house is old (1924) and we have had very few problems with our drains, so we have probably had this done once in the 30 years we have lived here. Ross worked on the drain for at least 3 hours. The obvious just wasn't the answer. He did not give up, was patient and pleasant while he used several different kinds of snaking machines to solve the problem. He wanted to avoid what would have been a quicker but much more expensive solution. He got the drain problem completely solved.

I had sewer water coming out of my shower drain and out of my toilet. i called them first thing in the morning . woman on phone said they were not in yet so she would tell them to call me when they got in. i did not receive a call until after 1:00 pm. Guy came searched for sewer outlet in yard could not find it so charged for service call and left. He said did not have equipment to do anything and that it would be Monday before they could come out. This was a Friday and I would not be able to use my water or toilets all weekend. It was a 85.00 service charge and a waste of money on my part. I then called central sewer and they came with in one hour and fixed me right up! I will not call gurney bush again.

I called to set up an appointment and a technician called me directly after I left my number with the operator. The technician (Jim) was extremely helpful and a good listener, taking time to understand my issue and then offering advice and some tweaks to my approaches. He ended up helping me over the phone without the need to have a home visit. I will definitely be calling Gurney Bush when I have an issue and specifically request Jim. Thanks again!

Jim Rubel is outstanding. He is reliable and thorough. He has worked on all the older plumbing in our house and after his repairs everything is working well. I would highly recommend him.

They did an excellent job on opening up the drains and no other company was able to do what they did. They were willing to do what it took to open up the drains and didn’t have an issue working on older pipes. They were reasonably priced as well.

My kitchen sink had been draining slowly for a few weeks. I had our regular plumbers out and they couldn't find anything wrong. It finally stopped completely and I called Gurney Bush. They had someone out in 1 1/2 hours. He stayed with the problem, checking traps, vent etc and re reaming until the drain was unclogged and running beautifully. Very nice and professional plumber. I will use them again!

Called regarding problem morning(8:15am) of 2/11/13. They said that they would get someone out that day. Serviceman called about 11:00am to say he was on his way and he got here about 11:30am. Explained problem and he looked at it and got equipment from his truck and had it out in about 5 min. Overall he was here about 15 min making sure that was the only problem.

They came out first to try to open up sewer line and determined there was a break. They came out the next day to do a camera inspection to locate the break. The cost is the total for the two visits. This is the second time I have used the company, and I am very pleased with their work.

They did not find anything once they snaked the drain from the sink. Then Monday they sent another person out with a camera to check the pipes. They also did not see anything clogging the drain, but the sink still would not drain. I then called Drain Man for a second opinion, and they came out and discovered it was the trap that was causing the issue. They replaced the trap, and now the sink drains perfectly. Gurney Bush would not refund any of the $520 that they charged for the service calls. They told me that the trap couldn't have been the problem.

They very much did their job. It was no bother at all. They did what they had to do and then left. It was really nice.

They were not able to perform the work due to a "clogged" system. However, they provided a full assessment and adjusted their price accordingly.

They are very good at fixing the tough jobs. They show up in a timely fashion.

The technician was very courteous and hard working. He did a good job.

I had water backing up into my basement, especially after it rained. The folks from Gurney Bush came out, snaked the sewer pipe, and thought they had any problem taken care of. I paid them and they left after cleaning everything up nicely. Two days later, it rained and I had more water backing up in the basement. They came out again - at no additional charge - and snaked the sewer pipe a second time. No blockage was found immediately, so the worker stayed nearly all afternoon trying to get the pipe cleared all the way out to the main sewer. Eventually, it seemed likely that the problem was actually at or near the main sewer - approximately 100 feet away. To get to it, we'd have to dig up the yard and probably have to cut the street. Naturally, the worst happened and we had to dig up the street. Gurney Bush recommended a company to do the street work (Knox) and the work was completed within a few days. While the Knox workers were there, one of the Gurney Bush workers came back to check on the problem, run a camera from the house to the street, and generally make sure everything worked out. While I only paid Gurney Bush for the drain work on that first day, they were wonderful to come back to try to fix it a second time (at no charge) then to return when the major work was being done. Their follow-up, professionalism, and dedication to see the job completed was much, much appreciated. I would hire them again without hesitation and have recommended them many times.

I say it went well, since I was in the hospital. My brother was dealing with the emergency and trying to get plumbers out was an ordeal for him, since he wasn't from this area.

I called Gurney Bush because of their standing on the List and because they do drain work only. My call was rec'd cordially and a tech (just one) was sent out within the hour. The tech, Joe, immediately determined that the problem was indeed the main sewer line, rather than a lesser problem, and set to work attempting to clear it. After numerous attempts, and several hours of work, he first consulted with his supervisor, then basically told me that his cable (at 120+ ft) had encountered an unnamed obstruction and that he was reluctant to try and run it any further for fear of the cable getting caught and his not being able to retrieve it. He also said that I could call his supervisor if I had questions. My sewer line is an especially long one, something I had indicated upon calling this company. Joe also said that I most likely had tree roots in the line near the back part of my property and that the only solution would be to install a clean-out at some distance out in my yard so that sewer cleaning efforts would be more likely to be successful. And there I was left. Clean-outs are, at the cheapest, more than $2500, not to mention the basic devastation of one's yard. Plus, there is no guarantee whatsoever that the result will be successful, particularly since the "cause" of the blockage is based purely on speculation. This may not always be the case, but in mine it surely was. I was not at all comfortable with these likelihoods. In fact, was very dismayed by this service experience. After hoping, again, that the whole situation would just go away (this doesn't happen when sewers are involved!), today I hired another company who, with their more powerful equipment, took care of the problem in half an hour, and with no tree roots on which to place blame.

The other company wanted to charge me $2,500 to install a new clean out, stating that that was my only option, and that they were uncomfortable running their cable more than 150 ft. That s when I called Gurney Bush; they came out the same afternoon and were successful in clearing the clog in about 1 hour. The serviceman was knowledgeable and friendly, and educated me on what he was doing and why. Moral to this story: if you need to have a lengthy drain line or sewer cleaned, do not call a plumber , call a drain and sewer cleaning specialist like Gurney Bush. Highly recommended!

This company was not successful in clearing this drain. The worker tried very hard to clean out the drain. The clay pipe had shattered and he was not able to clean it out.

I called them and they returned my phone call within an hour. They prioritized the job for what worked well for me. They were friendly. The guy who came out was friendly and helpful as well. He gave me advice on how to avoid the same problem in the future.

I was in the process of purchasing a home and the inspector suggested that the drain might need to be replaced since the house is 200 years old. The technician used a camera to check out the entire drain and explained everything he saw to me. Luckily the pipe was still in good condition and just needed to have some roots cleared out. He did a great job and was very friendly. He took the time to explain what he was doing to me because, I was curious to know. He was honest and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I would highly recommend them.

Very reasonable for the amount of large amount work that was done. They are always prompt. I have been using them for ten years. All of the people at the company really know there stuff. They know what they are doing and if they can't do the job they have many resources to get the job completed.
