Kitchen sink drain was very slow. Dave cleaned it and offered suggestions for keeping it clean.

Josh got here fast (25 min after I called), and did an excellent job. And it was on a Sunday! We plan to make this company our new "go to" plumber.

Great. They provided their service in an extremely timely manner, within 2 hrs of my call; the service rep snaked out my kitchen sink drain line and then gave me some pointers on how to avoid future problems.

They are bar non the most pleasant people to work with and have the best prices out there. I continue to use them once a year. The receptionists are very nice and friendly. They will accommodate your schedule even though they are quite busy. They will let you know within the hour when the technician will arrive.

Excellent work. Our kitchen sink drain had been plugged twice recently well up the drain line, which is scary because we have a slab and the only other way to get clean is to jackhammer the floor. We'd had a regular plumber (a good company) snake the line the previous 2 times with an electric hand snake, they struggled and eventually got it running again, but it never lasted long. The guy from Gurney came with a much more powerful snake on a small cart. On the first try it flew right down the line busting through the clog like nothing. Then he spent another 30-40 minutes putting on adapters to the end of the snake that spun and cleaned the caked in grease and such out as much as possible by pulling it back and forth. All while having, usually me, watch the main sewer line clean out to watch the rate of flow and if chunks and dirty water were still coming out (he didn't stop working on it till it ran fully clear). Awesome and thorough work, not just punching a hole through the muck that will clog right back up. He even looked at a few other issues for me like a kitchen faucet whose diverter is messing up, but couldn't fix that because he wasn't a plumber. So be clear, they are drain guys and awesome at fixing drains with the right equipment, but not really full service plumbers (at least not all of their people). Use them for what they are good at and they are excellent and who I will ALWAYS call for drain issue.

Gurney sent two technicians within 45 minutes of my initial phone call. They arrived in a clean, marked work truck, and came prepared with all necessary equipment, as well as a printed diagram of my property showing the sewer line layout. After reviewing the issue, they identified the primary indoor clean out was inaccessible without removing drywall paneling, and were innovative in finding and offering alternative approaches to resolve the issue. After being presented with the available paths forward, I opted for a camera snake to be pushed through the sewer line, which they used to identify and clear the blocked 'muck pipe' - they also were able to use the tool to locate a sewer clean out that had become buried in my yard. They were reasonable working with me on price, and helped to identify the likely root cause to help prevent clogs from recurring in the future.

I was most impressed by their responsiveness and availability as I called on Tuesday morning and the associate said she could have someone out that same day. The rep that came was in and out within 15 minutes from start to finish. Very impressed with the communication and would highly recommend them.

The technician was very through in his inspection of our plumbing system. He determined where he thought the issue was and promptly cleaned the line. He then showed me what the problem was, and let me know it is something that I should fix in the near future. (the kitchen line actually decreased in size from 1-1/2" to 1", that is where the blockage was).

Bruce and Josh helped us figure out why the drain pipes from our gutters were not working as expected, leading to overflowing at the gutter drains and water pooling at the foundation after any heavy rain. Turns out we had 2 pretty unusual issues - 1. perforation of the drain pipe by the lawn irrigation water line installed after the gutter drains, blocking it; and 2. lack of proper underground connection during construction of these drain pipes to the outflow pipe leading away to the ditch by the side of the house. Both issues must have existed for years and the previous homeowner didn't know or care to figure it out. Without Gurney Bush's specialized equipment and experience we would certainly not have been able to figure this one out without digging up the whole line, either. There were 3 gutters (supposedly) connected to one outflow pipe, and they found 2 separate blockages along a ~150' branching underground line, precisely pinpointing their locations and depth so we could dig just those areas of concern up. Both guys were great to work with, punctual, personable and knowledgeable. Great guys, excellent result.

Tom and Ron worked to understand the specific problems so they could lay out a plan and fix them. I have hired countless plumbers over the last few years for the same recurring problem, and none of them put in half as much effort as Tom and Ron. They are smart, knowledgable, and practical. In addition, they are really great guys and explained things to me in language I could understand. It was a huge undertaking, but my sewer is now draining! I am so happy I found these guys! I will be calling them for all of my plumbing needs from now on.

Tech (Gene, I think) worked hard for 45 - 60 minutes with auger in order to clear the drain. There was 20 years of toothpaste and hair resulting in a very slow drain. It now drains like new. I am very appreciative of his perseverance.

Diagnosed the problem, fixed it, charged me a very fair price. The technician, Josh, was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with advice on how to avoid future occurrences. I was referred to them by Isley Plumbing in Westfield who had no one available to help me but were happy to refer me to this company. Will use them again anytime I have a blocked drain. Excellent.

My house is over 125 years old. Roots get in sewer line and occasionally need to be cleaned out. This time was a bear. Another company couldn't get it opened enough due to multiple turns in line and inability to pull roots to cleanout. They thought I may have to replace line. Gurney Bush used a different method--high-speed water jet breaking it up and sending it on to main sewer line. They are expensive, but got the job done, so I think they were well worth it. I also wanted my sewer line located and videoed. That was included in the package. It is good to know now exactly where it goes. I was supposed to get a flash drive with the video on it but their equipment wasn't working right (and I was told hadn't been for some time) so I didn't get that and was disappointed. There had been a "glub" noise in the kitchen sink when I flushed the toilet and I was told that would go away when the sewer line was clear. It didn't, so I called them and they came back out. They checked the line again--clear-- and the vents--clear, and determined that the line between the sink and main drain was clogged--or partially so. They snaked it and the problem was solved. Since it wasn't a main drain issue they charged me $120, which I thought was reasonable. The people who came out were nice and knowledgeable. The man in charge on the first visit proudly said my line hasn't been that clean since I moved in 10 years ago and if other clean-outs lasted two years (that was my schedule for preventive maintainence) this should last 10. That was great to know! Then he said their guarantee was only 30 days! Bummer, I thought, if you are so confident in your service it should be longer. They should rethink that.

I called at 8:45 am on a Monday morning and someone was out by 10:00 am! Did the job-very professional. I couldn't be happier!

Josh did a great job in determing what was causing our septic sytem problem. He repaired it quickly, neatly & thoroughly. Was actually recommended to us by our plumber. Would high recommend this company!

They came out when sewer line backed up due to roots. They came out at 9pm to help and fixed the issue within an hour. Very prompt and quick.

From the first phone call to the actual visit, everything was pleasant, professional, and prompt. Steve, my savior, came with his assistant and rooted out our three drainage pipes from the downspouts. They were clogged with tree roots. In 2 1/2 hours, they had the drains working and the water flowing! Although they told me ahead of time, nothing was guaranteed, they were able to unclog the lines. We are forever grateful! I had previously called another company and I was quoted on the phone that it would be $650 with no guarantees just to come out. I was referred by the plumbing company we use because they do not do this kind of work. I would highly recommend them for their services. They are honest, hard-working, and most of all, effective!

Gurney Bush was recommended by our lawn service Green Touch. I explained our problem to Dee who answers the phone (believe it or not -- a live, friendly, professional woman answers your call after a couple rings ) -- adding that there was no real rush -- like if we had a clogged sewer line or other problem inside our home. I called on a Monday -- and after discussing my availability-- the work was scheduled for Wednesday. Bruce did the work. He was friendly and professional taking time to explain what might be the problem and the options available in terms of service. He suggested we start with the most inexpensive option @ $135 -- and described that depending upon what all was involved (broken pipe - tree roots, etc.) the costs could be as much as $600. The first option worked. We were very pleased with the service and the price.

This is the 3rd time we've used Gurney Bush to clear our main drain in the basement. Our house is 100 years old and every few years backs up and needs to be "unclogged". Each time we've used them, Gurney Bush has been quick to respond and schedule (same day), professional, extremely hard-working, and reasonably priced. My husband and I really appreciated that Tom didn't give up after the line was being difficult, and continued to work on it until it cleared. We'll definitely continue to use them in the future.
