I got a quote from them this year for tree removal. They offer a 10% discount if you hire them before the spring. They were referred to me by a friend. When they came out to give me the quote they were fast and it was a fair quote. I also knew that he provided very good service to my friend. This year we want to cut a tree that sits in between the fence. It is split between my wall and my neighbors and so we would have to split the cost. There is also a fence involved so it is going to be a complicated tree removal. Because we had to split the cost my neighbor backed off from it and so we decided not to do it right now. With the quote he responded very quickly and he was professional. He gave us a very fair quote. When it came to the trimming the crew just showed up one day, cleared everything out and cleaned up everything and they were gone. If my friend hadn't been at the house I would not have know that they were even going to be there that day. I would recommend that they call and let people know that they are showing up.

The work was wonderful. I called them in the morning, and the tree was gone when I got home in the evening. I did have one little issue; they cut a wire, and it took them a while to come back and fix it. This is the second time that I have used them for a tree removal, and I would use them again in the future if necessary.

I'm completely happy with the work done. The company did a fabulous job removing a large tree stump from my front yard. I didn't have to be there, they took care of it while I was at work, and the price was great. The only complaint I have is the punctuality. Initially when I called they said someone would be out in the next 2-3 days. After a week I called and they said their grinder had been down, and someone would be out shortly. Long story short, after 2 more weeks, I called again and left a message....no response. It took well over a month for them to take care of the job. I'm happy with the work, but it seems based on other responses they typically don't show when they say they will. I didn't have to pay until after the work was done, so it's not that big a deal, but I would have liked a little more professionalism from them to call and give me a better timeline.

They came about 1.5 weeks after originally expected, and then did a professional job. Had all the proper equipment. Came in afternoon and took down the spruce. Didn’t even knock on my door. Cleaned up and left. The following day the man came with the stump grinder. This was a remote model, and did a much better job than I’ve seen with the smaller units. He finished and cleaned up. And didn’t come to my door either. (I’m glad they cut down the right tree!) I had the check ready, and expected for someone to stop by but they never did. The mailed the invoice to us a week later. This is in a time when it seems everyone wants payment immediately after the service if not before.

We had a very large 100 year old maple tree fall across our driveway/yard during a storm. We called Green Arbor that night (after they were closed) and left a message for the following morning. They called us first thing the next morning and came out and quoted us a price. The tree had already fallen and uprooted itself, so no stump grinding was required. They came out the same day and cut the tree up and removed all the debris, and left us firewood as well from the tree. They were there for about 4 hours. They billed us for the work, which was nice - as we didn't have to be home to pay them when they finished. We received estimates from 2 other companies. Green Arbor was about $300 cheaper than the others. Very nice guys. Honest, trustworthy. Would use them again.

It was a disaster. They did not show up when they were supposed to. When they finally showed up, the work they did was very, very poor. My lawn still looks terrible today with a tremendous amount of bare spots. They also were supposed to do a follow-up fertilizer and re-seeding program that never happened. For a while they would not answer or return my calls. Once they did, they were very confrontational. These guys are terrible and should never be used. I am just now reporting this because we just recently became members of Angie's List and I am very happy that I now have an opportunity to warn others about these guys.

They did a good job with the trim, although they left the tree a bit unbalanced, but not so much as to be unattractive. They worked quite quickly and their cleanup was thorough. I would be comfortable hiring them again. Salesman on the phone was fairly pleasant when setting up the appointment, but a bit slow to return my initial call and later call with a question. Their price was the best estimate we received.

This company was recommended to us by our neighbor. The man that comes out to give the estimate is the owner. He was very cooperative and listened to what we wanted done and came up with what we thought was a very fair price. They sent out two guys about two weeks later. It took them about an hour to do all four trees and they cleaned up completely.

They were very professional and prompt. They did the job quickly and cleaned up all the debris when they were finished. When I initially called them they came out with a quote and a drawing of the trees. They were excellent to deal with. They held to their price.

Great service and great company to deal with.

Received an unsolicited estimate for removal of dead tree in front yard including stump grinding early in winter. Price was excellent. Wanted to wait until spring to insure myself that tree actually was dead. I called them to get an estimate for removal of three other dead trees in back yard. They said they were booked for work that week but would be able to stop by and give me an estimate on Friday. No one showed. I called them Monday and left a message that was never returned. Called again Wednesday with the same results. They did come to the house that Friday and gave an estimate to my husband. We felt their price was very reasonable. I faxed a signed copy back to them on Saturday to approve the estimate. I never received confirmation that they received the fax or a call to schedule the work. They showed up unannounced 10 days later to perform the work. Luckily I was home as the technician wasn't sure which trees to cut down in our heavily wooded back yard. I pointed out the correct trees to him. All four trees were cut down that day. All materials were removed and they did a great job cleaning up afterwards. They returned, unannounced again, 3 days later to grind the stumps. I had to remind them to grind a stump in the front yard of a tree they had not cut down. The job was nicely done and once again they did a great job on cleanup. Overall I am very pleased with their work and feel their pricing is excellent. However, I would appreciate better communication from them. I will use them again in the future because I know what to expect.

They did a great job with removing the tree and stump. The original date for completion was delayed twice (once due to a scheduling error and the second due to weather).

We had a tall pine tree die last summer. Got one estimate from a highly rated company we have used before of around $550. Green Arbor left an unsolicited quote in the mailbox of $385. We did nothing; then in January received a followup from Green Arbor marking the price down to a winter rate of $340. I was going to ask for extra work from them, so I called and left a message. A week later someone from there called and left us a couple messages. A couple weeks after that I tried returning their calls but only got voicemail and they didn't return my messages. So we never made phone contact. I gave up, decided to sign the contract and faxed it in. They didn't acknowledge getting the fax. They didn't call to schedule. About a week and a half later, they just showed up at the house to take down the tree. I asked them to leave the wood chips but when I came home they were gone and no wood chips. The work was satisfactory. The price was great. The communication is a problem.

I was very pleased with the professionalism and work done by Green Arbor personnel. We got two estimates and Green Arbor's price was less than half the price of the other company. GA arrived on the day and at the time they said they would with a four man crew. They cut down the two large oaks (over 30 ft each) by climbing the tree rather than using a truck with a bucket. I was very glad about that because it didn't do any damage to my yard. One tree was within 3 ft of a chain link fence and the other tree was within 6 ft of a house. They took down both trees without damaging any thing else. The two Bradford pears were trimmed and well shaped without "scalping" the tops. All branches and debris (including leaves on the ground in the area) were removed and the trunks of the trees that were cut down were left cut in firewood lengths for our use. The entire job was done in 2.5 hours. I will definitely use Green Arbor again to work on our trees.

Overall it went okay. We received an unsolicited bid in our mailbox for a "nearly dead" silver maple. The price was competitive. They showed up on the day they said they would, but due to the size of the tree we were told they would be back the next day to finish. They didn't return for a few days, but they did return. When they were finished, the trunk and wood chips were left in our yard, as were holes from the equipment. We assumed they would grind the stump all the way down, since we had paid for it, but apparently this was as far down as they grind. We didn't feel that all of our questions were answered thoroughly, and when we initially called to discuss their company with them, we were told by the person on the phone that they provide all the landscaping for Indianapolis, so "we're pretty good," and that was the bulk of the detail provided. They got the job done but if we have anymore landscaping needs/tree service needs we plan to go with another company.

Overall, it went well. This was an unsolicited bid for a tree that died late last summer. The price was competitive. When I called them, they had me fax the contract. They only negative was that they didn't tell me when they would arrive to cut down the tree. They showed up the next morning. Fortunately, I had removed 20 hostas from under the tree the weekend before in anticipation of cutting the tree down. So they really need to do a better job of communicating the schedule. But everything else was great.

This company left me an estimate in my mailbox. I assume they were giving people free estimates. They had a fair price for removing two dead River Birch trees in my front yard. I called them and scheduled the work to be done. On that day they never showed up. They never called. I called them three times that day to see if they were ever coming and they just never called me back. The following day, I called the company again and left a message telling them I was disappointed with their customer service and un-professionalism. I gave them one more opportunity to call me back, and they never did.

Good. Perhaps a bit conservative on their trimming.
