Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical

I called in a panic on Fri Jul 7 at 8:30p & waited for the return from the tech & was told since I wasn't a maintenance member they couldnt help me during the weekend, that it would be the next available business day next week. I'm making a list of emergency plumber/HVAC companies for future reference.

They replaced the garbage disposal, but it continued to leak. So we called them and they came out again and fixed the leak free of charge. They were not super fast at scheduling a return visit, but we also have very busy jobs so we didn't give them a lot of options on when they could come by. Overall I give them a B rating because they performed their job well and when we realized the leak was not fixed they returned to complete the work free of charge.

It went well... in and out by 2 hours. The only thing I wished the plumber cleaned the space a bit after the job as there were melt metal pieces on the floor.

Very well. He arrived during the time window and explained everything in detail. Also the phone service staff was terrific and gave me a quote over the phone and knew about the products so that was a really good experience. I did not have to wait very long for an appt even though my problem was not urgent. I would recommend and will use them again.

There was no price. They didn't end up doing any work.

All services were performed as discussed. New outlets look great.

That actually went real well. They didn't seem to have it going on big time. One guy there had it going on and two other guys didn't' have it going on and they were the two doing the work.

Very well; scheduled and completed as agreed

The guys were on time and very professional. They spent time after installation explaining how the remote works. The logs are great and light every time without fail unlike the logs we had them remove. Very satisfied.

Workmen arrived on time and worked efficiently to make install. Everyone at Godby's has been very professional + courteous.

The service person was determined to resolve our boiler issues. He worked well past the usual hours and came back when it acted up again. No charge until it was finally fixed. Then we got a discount on the parts because we have a service contract. All seems fine now.

The technician was very thorough, very friendly, and very professional. He knew what he was doing, and did it well.

The plumber came out and examed the situation, which confirmed my thoughts. He sealed the drain and tested it with running water. The work was done within 1 hour. No leak was observed after the work. The company was very responsive and courteous. They were able to put me on schedule the next morning and made phone calls prior to arrival. The plumber put on shoe cover and cleaned the working area afterward. The payment was easy and I used my credit card. The initial exam fee was $79 and was discounted in final cost, which is typical. The hourly rate was $120, and it's charged by the whole hour (not quarter-hour or half-hour), which I think is not flexible and is over-priced. The work really only took 30 minutes, and the plumber was out of the door in 45 minutes, but I still paid $120 (I don't think Angie's List member get any discount in this case).

Arrived on time. Provided advice on alternative furnace air filters I might want to try. Did normal checks and spent extra time cleaning the flame detector. I have used Godby for this service for several years. There is a chart on the furnace they initial each time and write in what they did. This particular servicer went down the list pointing out who was no longer with the company. It appears they have a high turnover rate.

Went great - easy to deal with and scheduling was easy. They were very nice and professional. Would highly recommend them and especially for Garbage Disposal replacement. Thanks! Rodd - Noblesville

Jeremy & Kenny were fabulous, could not have been bettor all removal, cleanup briefing, testing all done & tip top.

He was very quick and professional. He identified a capacitor that was drawing low voltage and he had one on his truck to repair it.

They're still sending me a bill and I'm still refusing to pay it. I had no heat. The guy had come in the fall. We had a system with them where they came twice a year and did air conditioning on one and heating and cooling on the other, the deal that those companies have. I finally decided I would just wait until it broke and call someone, I thought it would save a lot of money. I had a new furnace installed in 2013. They came in October of 2014 to service it that they do every year. This guy was here a long time. I went once and I said, "Is something wrong?" He said, "No, I'm just trying to get it the way I wanted." He did what he did and he left. The next day, it still wasn't working right but it was warming some and we had a mild fall. I called somebody else and they sent someone out from their office and I did not get his name and I didn't get a receipt, but he just gave me a lecture on how the thermostat worked. So, I thought, "Well, this wasn't a very good purchase because it's not working well." Then, I was really busy, I was expecting to have a surgery and so I had a whole bunch of things to get caught up on. In December, I did have the surgery, but the next day, it was so cold. I told my husband, "You should have called them before." He had to call them then because we had noticed it was really cold in the house, it was down to 60° or so. He did call and someone came out. They were really busy he said, stood on the floor and dripped muddy water all over everything and told me I didn't have enough insulation on my house because I didn't have enough snow on my roof. He said some other nonsense stuff. He said that my filter was dirty and I said, "I just changed it three weeks ago. It couldn't be dirty." He was like , "Oh it was dirty." He said several other things. He did nothing, as far as I knew and then he left. He said he made an adjustment and I said, "Well, how long will it be before it's warm." He said, "Oh, 24 hours." In 24 hours, it was still 60 something degrees and I called them again by then it was Saturday and I said, "I want a smart person to come out." Finally the guy explained, "We just have people on call. We aren't even with Godby, we're just like an answering service." But, we got somebody. I think his name was Joe. He looked at the furnace, he looked at my thermostat and he said, "Do you have your installation instructions?" I said, "Well, sure," and I gave them to him. Pretty soon, the furnace was fixed, it was running, we had warm air, we stopped shivering and I thought, "I don't think I want to go through that again." I didn't get a receipt from him either. He just fixed it, there was no charge, I guess he never charged me. He was an older person and he said he used to run his own business, but he certainly knew what he was doing. It ran okay. I had a gas hot water heater put in at the same time and I had plenty of trouble with that also. But the next time I had any trouble was when Thiele came out because we had lost power and that was because a mouse chewed through a wire. That was my ordeal. They send me a bill periodically and they call me and ask me would I like them to come out and service and I said, "Absolutely not, it was so bad the last time," and she said, "We'll do it for free." I said, "No." So that's all I've had to do with them and I really don't plan to use them again. I know that a lot of people have good things to say and I did too until then. If I had small children, I would have probably been having a temper tantrum. The next time I called One Hour. He came out and he said I had a bad part and it had to be ordered. That was on the furnace that was three plus years old and I wanted to have a warranty. The warranty isn't held apparently by the company that makes the furnace, the warranty was held by Godby. I learnt a lot that time, that was a hard learning experience. So, next time I'm not going to have somebody who can't give me warranty in writing from the manufacturer and a few other little odds and ends.
