Steve was great. He went work quickly, cleaned and inspected my gas fireplace and was able to repair a pilot light that wouldn't stay lit. He was done quickly, and my fireplace is working better than ever!

The guy was on time. Answered all my questions and did a great job in cleaning and repairing the gas logs. He even looked at our second fireplace which also has gas logs and checked it out. Would recommend them to anyone.

The service was great! They were able to fix the problem rather than replacing the entire door. It really saved us a lot of money. We called them and they came right away to do some measuring and gave us a quote. They came back and took the door and returned two days later to install it. They cleaned up well and left behind.

We needed a cleaning and safety check on a direct vent fireplace in a new-to us home. Scheduling the appointment was smooth, the gentleman (Rick) who came to clean the fireplace and check everything out was great. I was new to this type of fireplace and he showed me how to work everything and installed a remote on it even though that wasn't on the original order. I would use them again. Highly recommend.

Things went very well. He cleaned all of the parts and fixed all of the problems. He asked for the manufacturers book(which I still had after 13 year.) He found that the logs had never been placed correctly, and he redid them. Also, we had no idea we had a fan for the fireplace. He checked it and fixed it too. It's like we have a brand new fireplace for only $150. This provider took his time and did and excellent job. It was so helpful to have him take care of us.

We have been searching for the right company to install a direct vent gas insert and after dealing with multiple frustrations with other companies not returning our calls, Godby Hearth and Home was the most consistent and professional and won our business. We actually joined Angie's List because of a discount that happened at the right time and for the right product. From sales to service, Godby representatives were courteous, punctual and knowledgeable. They worked hard to meet our needs and we would gladly refer them to other people interested in a new insert. Our Heat and Glow insert was ideal for our living room and creates a warm, cozy atmosphere where our family all wants to gather around and enjoy our new home improvement. The unit is a bit drafty when not in use and I would encourage others to consider an insulating strategy around the unit to prevent heat loss and to talk more with about this up front with the sales representative and installation team. Overall, they did exactly what we asked them to do and we are very pleased with their service.

The gentleman that called listened to my (lengthy) explanation of what I had found, and done, and then gave a couple of recommendations. Although I didn't actually hire them, based on this experience I definitely will in the future if I need gas fireplace repairs.

I purchased a Quadra-Fire wood burning fireplace insert from Godby Hearth & Home in early November. I was told that it would take approximately 2 weeks for the insert to arrive in their warehouse and then we would schedule the installation. The insert arrived 2 days sooner than expected and they were able to come out and install it the beginning of the next week (which was the earliest time I had available). Shawn carefully installed the insert and was able to work around several unforeseen problems, including the fact that the factory had sent the wrong surround. Everyone I worked with was incredibly professional and polite and made sure that I understood everything and was happy before they left. It took about a week for the new surround to arrive and Shawn once again came out and was finished switching out the surrounds in about 15 minutes. I couldn't be happier with the product or service. I would highly recommend them.

We couldn't be more happy with the service that we received from Steve from Godby. When we arranged the appointment, Steve told us what he was going to do and what he thought the problem was with the fireplace. On the day of the appointment, he showed up on time, was very professional, and was able to fix our fireplace by replacing a crimped gas tube. Moreover, Steve took the time to rearrange the logs so that the flame is perfect. We will be using Steve from Godby for any service that we need for the fireplace in the future along with recommending him to our family and friends.

I used an Angie's List deal for a Gas fireplace inspection & cleaning. They were great! When I made the appointment all my questions were answered. When it came to the appointment they were prompt & cleaned, inspected & insulated the gas fireplace. Our fireplace looks & works like new. We will definitely use them again.

Not many details to list. Godby had a coupon for September for a discount on cleaning gas fireplaces. We'd only lived here less than a year, but we were still pretty sure the fireplace had never been cleaned and the remote control had gone walkabout. Godby scheduling is awesome. No doubt about the timing. Steve called and said he was running early - when does that happen nowadays? Took less than an hour and last month when the pilot had gone out (the gas had been shut off while our new water heater was installed) and we couldn't get it relit, Steve stopped by and relit it for us. Service is excellent and we're definitely going to use them again.

I needed a late afternoon appointment and Brian was very accommodating. Steve came out and in just a few minutes found the problem to be in the switch. Replaced it and immediately I had my fireplace going. I was very pleased. I would recommend them and call them again if I need too.

It went wonderful...they came first to do the inspection and cleaning. Found an air flow problem and then came back another time and fixed that. I would recommend them to anyone. In the future I will be having them maintain my gas fireplace on regular intervals.

Wonderfully! Godby was so good to work with. Our problems were with Vectren Gas Company. We tried from June to Oct to get them out here to put in gas line with three cancellations/no shows. Godby was wonderfu! They were so patient and worked with us. A big A+ for their staff and service. They came to service my gas fireplace. They were excellent. They were very professional and thorough. They didn't take very long to do the work. I would use them again.

We purchased a "big deal" to have our gas fireplace inspected and cleaned. The company was prompt to call and schedule the appointment, the technician showed up right on time and did a great job. He discovered and repaired a gas leak, after taking time to explain the issue and discuss repair options. Then, he went above and beyond to install a bracket on the pilot assembly. He cleaned the unit and left it looking better than ever - then cleaned up and left. Overall - solid work and very professional. I would definitely recommend Godby.

Overall the cleaning and inspection went fine. The cleaning of the glass doors was not great, but wasn't noticed until later in the day when the sun was shining on the doors - I hate smeary doors, and it's not easy for me to remove them to reclean. Also the logs were not placed back correctly, causing the pilot light to be partially orange (rather than blue) where it is continually hitting the logs. Next time I will be more careful about the placement before they leave. But I feel better that the fireplace is in good shape after several years of use without inspection. The guy who came out (forget his name) was punctual, professional, got to work and cleaned up after himself. I'm updating my review because shortly after posting the original review above, I was contacted by Godby. They offered to come back to my home and fix the two issues I mentioned above. While I haven't scheduled them to do that, I really appreciate the offer to make it right at no additional charge. I haven't taken them up on this, because if it had concerned me more, I would have called them first, but I may consider having them back out when I have a scheduled weekday off work. Given that a lot of service providers won't even call back if you've called them, and often won't accept responsibility for something that didn't get done right, this was a welcome surprise. As I said originally, it's at least partially my fault for not inspecting things more carefully before they employee left. I will definitely use Godby again.

When I called to set up an appointment for service, Brian was a great help and explained to me all the parts of the fireplace that the technician would be checking. Steve arrived promptly at 1:00, he was very courteous and knowledgeable about his job. I would recommend Godby Hearth and Home to anyone needing service for their fireplace.

Steven called ahead and he was early. He asked if we had any problems, I told him about the pilot light. He cleaned and inspected everything in an hour time. He adjusted the pilot switch and it works great, as well as adjusted the fireplace flames to make it more real. It looks great!
