Description of Work: They have never provided the service in spite of multiple attempts on our part to have it scheduled. They do not answer calls or e-mail. We actually spoke to someone who said they would come look at the work to be done and my husband waited for them. They never showed up or called. I am very unhappy and as a result do not participates in "Deals" offered. This is the second time I have had this happen.

Description of Work: Brent Flatt was very professional in his landscaping services provided at my residence. He was a very hard worker and very pleasant to communicate with throughout his working time. I would use Garden Works again and would recommend him to others.

Description of Work: It seemed that this would be a good service provider. They were prompt in coming to get a sense of the scope of the work. They indicated that the work was more extensive than could be covered by the big deal coupon. I agreed to pay more. The service was scheduled, they did not show up, did not call. They did not answer my calls and did not answer subsequent calls made by Angie's List. Angie's List was great in working with me and allowed me to transfer the value of the deal to another deal.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's list Big Deal for $200, which was for $400 worth of tree trimming. Brent from Garden Works and his crew trimmed a large tree in my front yard. They raised the canopy of the tree to make the house more visible, trimmed some of the dead branches, and removed/disposed of a large leader limb that extended over my neighbors' driveway. I was out of town during the work, but my neighbors said they did a lot. I expected more deadwooding to be done, as there are still many dead branches at the top of the tree and my goal was for all of those to be removed. However, my perception may be different if I was there to witness the workload. My mother-in-law loved Brent's work and hired him to do work on her property as well. Brent is a nice and personable guy, but his work is done mainly at his availability because he's very busy. I liked what they did but I expected more, however i'm not sure if my expectations are realistic. It's subjective whether the work they did was worth $200, $400, or somewhere in between. Either way, this is not a negative review. I would use Garden Works again in the future, but with more communication up front. Thank you Brent.

Description of Work: In early July I contacted the service provider to request a quote for tree trimming. Because the Big Deal was only available for a short period of time, I purchased the deal before the quote. The provider came out and assessed my trees and gave me a quote. A couple of days later I verbally accepted the quote from the provider and he said he would come out that week to perform the tree trimming. He did come out a couple of days later and put a rope in one of my trees, but did no trimming. After he did not return for several days, I sent him a text message asking when he would be back. After three or four promises to perform the service and the same number of no-shows I contacted AL for assistance. The provider then contacted me and explained he needed new equipment to complete the service. He again promised to come out within a few days. The following day he texted me to say he could not perform the work. At that point, around mid-August, I asked AL to find an alternate provider. On 8/26 I was told that an alternate provider would contact me, but I was never contacted. Now I am asking for a full refund for the Big Deal.

Description of Work: Did not have any equipment; tiny leaf blower ran out of gas. Had no lawn bags, used hANDS TO PUT LEAVES INTO BAGS. TOOK SO LONG I sent him home after 2 hours. He was supposed to come back for another 2 hours but the address and phone numbers were different.

Description of Work: I showed the man what exactly I wanted done. He noticed 2-3 additional trees that needed to be removed but said he would notify me when his services reached $199 (what I paid for via Big Deal).. He cut down a total of 9 trees, one of which was a healthy walnut tree(walnuts growing on branches). Payment was another issue as he requested BEFORE all the work had been completed (his helper said that they had no money to pay the dump where they disposed of wood/branches, etc)> He also had no way for a customer to pay by credit card or PAYPAL,only by personal check. Finally his helper requested line for string trimmer because he forgot to purchase before arriving at our home. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Description of Work: The cut off a broken limb and cut off the top of my apple tree in the process of trimming down the long branch row they hit the fence

Description of Work: After the initial amount was used and an estimate for further work given, the workers did an excellent job. Very polite and listened to what I wanted. Everything was done and the clean up was terrific. I would definetly recommend them to do work in the yard. I am going to have them back in the fall for fall cleanup.

Description of Work: His tiny tiny leaf blower ran out of gas early on, so he put leaves into a bag that I provided by hand.He did a good job cutting down some rose bushes and did a good job dragging some remodeling debris down the hill in a wheelbarrow as his truck had no brakes and needed to remain on the street.After 2 hours, I told him he could go home;he promised to return for the additional 2 hours he owed me. No response from my e-mails. very expenseive for 2 hours work. Never again will I go for a "Big Deal".

Description of Work: they cleaned my flower beds and mulched them - after I used the $99.00 - I extended their job to two more days. They were fantastic and I enjoyed the people that came to work. They did a great job and mulched very nicely. I am thinking about getting them back in the fall to close my beds.

Description of Work: He originally scheduled to do the work on April 26th. I didn't hear from him and after 2 weeks I called and didn't get any return calls back. My yard needed to be cleaned by picking up leaves and branches. My yard needed to be cut and it wasn't cut since we scheduled in April. He did agree to throw in the weed killer for a bit of compensation. I believe the company was way in over his head from the response of the Big Deal. This was my 1st experience with Angies List and not too impressed with this program. I need a new roof; but because of this incident, I am a bit hesitant to choose off the list.

Description of Work: The work was okay and I am glad I didn't have to do the pruning of the roses myself but I guess I expected them to do a more thorough job, like cutting out all the dead stems of the roses and pulling the weeds before putting the mulch, and fixing some of the bricks around the roses. I told the lead person before they started working what I want done, so I did not actually watch them all the time. They were nice people though.

Description of Work: We can not say enough good things about Brent and his helper, Bob. They were so helpful and went above and beyond to try and please us. We have used them several times since the original Angie's List big deal. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Description of Work: brent cleaned up our yard and got rid of lots of old leaves and LOTS of old branches, some of which were sizable from the snow storms of the winter. our yard looks great and we're ready for spring. he also suggested ways to care for our trees and bushes, plants, etc. great value! and very friendly!

Description of Work: Gardenworks is a small local company of 1-2 employees and he regularly performs landscaping, Hardscapes & pavers, Lawn & Yard Work, tree service, and lawn maintenance for my personal and investment properties. Such a great person to deal with and will go above a beyond what is asked of him. I would recommend Brent to any AL Member. Just give him notice and time to fit you in his schedule and you will be very happy.
