The whole process was very simple. Factory Direct gave me a great price and I did not feel any pressured at all to buy the windows. Factory Direct installed them very well and did a great job with the trim. Only took them a day to install all of our windows and the installer was very percise with his work. Plus they were installed earlier than I was expecting cause I asked them to see if it could be installed sooner.

Everything was real smooth and simple...And that's the way I like it. I will call Factory Direct again for future upcoming projects.

Factory Direct has a great staff from the Office Manager, GM, to the installers. They were very informative and I felt like they just wanted to help us make the right decision in purchasing windows rather than trying to pressure us into buying. Awesome Company!!

It was great again! That's why I called them, I don't expect anything less from them. The windows look really good, the installers were on time and did a great job cleaning up after their selves. I hope I don't have to call them again to spend any more money...The pricing is still the best I can find on windows any where.

Went very well! The consultant was very friendly and not high pressure at all. I also liked how they helped me with my buying decision and worked well with me to stay within my budget. Factory Direct has lived up to their reputation.

I'd like to break-down the work performed into each individual project: roof, gutters, and windows. Roof: The new roof was installed in a single day (a Sunday). The crew that performed the installation arrived early and stayed late, and seemed to be actively working most of the time they were there. I was impressed by the way they protected the other parts of my house while working by covering the deck with plastic, using thick foam over the gutters, and using their ladders carefully as not to damage my siding. The process of installation was explained to me in detail, including steps taking place before and after the work was completed. When the work was complete I walked around my house to perform an inspection. From the ground the new roof looked great. However, I started noticing LOTS of trash in my bushes and in my yard from the installation, including pieces of roof, plastic, screws, nails, and other bits. And when I say lots, I mean lots. I was told that after installation the crew would go around my home and collect all debris, including using a magnet to collect screws and nails. I think this step may have been skipped in my case. In all I collected almost half a plastic bucket full of just screws, nails, and staples from my yard and bushes, as well as quite a few pieces of shingle and plastic. When I climbed out on my roof to look around from that perspective I again found lots of debris left behind by the installers, including piles of screws, staples, and broken shingle pieces. I collected as much as I could find, and in the process discovered several issues, including some hastily installed shingles that needed repair, a broken flood light, some damaged shingles, and dark staining on my siding from the installers' compressor tools (which I was able to remove with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser). FDHI sent a gentleman out a few days later and he took care of all of these issues for us. I did have to call FDHI back out after the first big storm we had due to some roof leaking around my furnace/water heater exhaust pipe, but they quickly returned and got back on the roof, performing some caulking or something that repaired the leak. There was thankfully no damage to my home from the leak. Gutters: The gutters were installed by a different gentleman over the course of six hours or so. He did a great job. I did find quite a few of the gutter screws (those long 9" ones used for gutter installation) in my bushes, but it was no problem to pick them up. Since these new gutters were 6" and my old ones were 5" I did have to re-install all of my drain lines at the bottom of the downspouts (which I was not expecting to have to do), but it was actually no problem (and kind of fun I thought). I spent around $30 to buy the new parts necessary to use the new 6" downspouts. Windows: The window installers completed their work over a span of two days. My wife was home with them the first day and reported that they were very professional and personable. Once complete the new windows looked amazing. The only issue we had with the window installation was that the gentlemen accidentally dented my brand new gutters on the front of the house while they were going up and down their ladders. Summary: There were definitely some bumps in the road with FDHI, but overall they did a decent job. Although in the macro sense their work was good, it was a lack of detail with the small things that prevents me from giving them an "A" rating for the work performed.

The installers at Factory Direct were on time, very quick, and very detailed in the work they provided. Very neat and no mess inside or outside was left for us to clean up. The company benefited from the Window Man freaking out on me over the phone. I had already bought windows from them. Their installers kid had a kidney transplant the day of my installation and while I was very compassionate about the situation, he did not say if I were being rescheduled or would be one installer short and that the project would take longer. So I asked. He blew up on me, hung up, I called back, he called me names, and then had his wife call and give me a refund -- all after waiting 5 weeks for the windows to get in. Factory Direct saved the day. They upgraded me to a better window then what Window Man had sold me, and gave me their best installers. From start to finish they were upfront about cost, tax, etc. During the sales process (my 4th window demo so I knew what they were saying by now,) It was obvious that the Polaris window was a better window than what I had previously selected. During measurement and installation: They sent their installer Mike, who did a fantastic job and was very courteous, professional, and respectful of our time (and need for some degree of privacy since they were there two full days.) During measurement I asked about having the cedar boards wrapped in the aluminum wrap they use around the window sills. Mike strongly discouraged me from doing so saying it would look awful. He was right, it would have, I saw a house down the street that had it done and it would have looked bad. The quality of installation they did on the wrap and windows was top notch. Period. After the sale: I had ordered nickel hardware for my sliding glass door and what arrived was all white. Nate, the manager, was quick to order the right hardware and the manufacturer rep himself showed up to install it. While I'm disappointed I didn't get the nickel handle for the screen door, or the silver kick trim as ordered, I am satisfied overall. Only concern: When companies come out to measure, the "assumption" is that you are getting windows to fit (custom fit if you will.) The sliding door was 3" shorter than my older one and all of these replacement companies just use aluminum sheets and insulation to compensate for the gap. This was true on several of my windows as well. When I asked the installer about it: on the windows it was to ensure plum and square, however I still wonder why up to 2" was necessary from what I've read online only 1/2" is. On the door he said it would have cost a fortune for the 3 extra inches. The sales person Mike never communicated this to me. I would have been OK if a 2x4 would have been installed to help preserve energy efficiency and durability. But that didn't happen. This issue was never explained to me and may be a normal thing. Just something for you to be aware of when ordering windows. ASK if they are custom fit, and ASK for it in writing. Overall great experience and I will use them for cement fiber board siding when I'm ready. But I would like the window concern addressed first.

Salesperson was friendly and informative, showed us our options without giving us the hard sell. Installers arrived on time, did the work well, installed product looked nice and functioned well.

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate on replacement windows for my home. I received a call from the company 1 day prior (6/6) to confirm the appointment of 6/7 at 3:00 PM. On Friday, the salesperson called about 12:30 asking if we could meet another time. When I asked what he had in mind, he responded only to say he was in Indianapolis. I told him I was available until 1:30 PM, otherwise I would need to keep the 3PM time slot. He stated that 30 minutes would not give him enough time so we agreed to keep the 3PM appointment. From his comments I assumed it would take him 30 minutes to get to my home and that would only leave 30 minutes for the estimate. I mention this because the total time he spent at my home was less than 15 minutes and 10+ minutes of that was spent by me trying to get information from him. When he arrived, I explained which windows needed to be replaced and the type of window I wanted (in detail). I showed him the first window and without taking any measurements or seeing any of the other windows, he handed me a piece of paper, pointed to a number and said "that's your price". Needless to say I was a little surprised by this. When I asked if he wanted to see the rest of the windows, he said it wasn't necessary. If they were all about the same size, the price was the same. Regardless, I proceeded to show him the windows in the other rooms. I didn't want any surprised on the estimate so I wanted to make sure he had all of the information he needed. He never took one measurement and tried to talk me into a different type of window for two rooms than what I had asked for stating the double hung windows weren't necessary. When I pressed him for some information on the windows, he stated that he didn't have all of the details. They carried windows from 9 manufacturers and over 25 styles so he couldn't possible know all of them. I literally had to press him for 10 minutes to find out what brand of windows he was including and through my questioning found out that things like Argon gas filled, low E glass and full screens were "options" at an additional cost as was a custom wrap they sometime need to do for an installation. He couldn't (or wouldn't) even tell me the difference between the various prices that were on the sheet he gave me. Instead he asked me how much I wanted to spend on windows and stated they would be any written estimate by 10%. I responded by saying I was looking for the best value in quality and price. It was not a price decision alone. I realized if it took this much effort on my part to get even minimal information to know what kind of product I was getting, I had no confidence in the estimate, the product they were selling, or the installation let alone any follow up service I may have needed. The company as a whole may not be all bad. However, as they say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. This salesman gave me no reason to pursue business with the company and every reason to go someplace else. One of the office personnel called me the Monday after his visit to ask how things went. I provided her the same information. She did offer to have the General Manager contact me, but I declined. I do not wish to do business with this company. My overall grade is a D. I would have given the company an F, but in fairness they were responsive when I called for an appointment and arrived on time.

He showed up in a Mercedes AMG 2 door black car. This car is worth as much as most of the houses on my block combined! That does not paint a good impression for the customer when someone shows up with no ladder or tools in a very ostentatious vehicle. He showed me some sample shingles and then quoted me an outrageous sum for new shingles, flashing, fascias, and gutters. I was pressured to sign with him which is a big red flag for me. He was evasive and deflected when I would ask any questions. I felt like I was at a used car lot. I sent him on his way in his very expensive German coupe. He hardly even looked at my roof and even asked which one of us (my wife or myself) had the checkbook!! I should have sent him packing at that first remark but I at least listened to what he had to say. I am sure the quality of the materials is good but they are way out of our means. What troubles me the most is the fact that profit and making a sale seemed to be his primary goal and not servicing the customer's needs.AFTER READING THE RESPONSE, I DECIDED TO UPDATE THIS REVIEW. THE CAR BARRY SHOWED UP IN WAS A 2 DOOR AND IT WAS AN AMG! DO NOT INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE. THIS MAN DID NOT GIVE ME A COST BREAKDOWN OR OFFER ME ANY CHEAPER ALTERNATIVES. HE DID NOT EVEN GET ON THE ROOF AND REALLY LOOK AT IT. I AM SURE THIS IS NOT THE WORST ROOF ANY OF YOU HAVE EVER SEEN. YOUR PRICE WAS OVERLY INFLATED. 12000 FOR A ROOF WITH A 22.5 DEGREE PITCH AND A HOUSE JUST OVER 1100 SQUARE FEET IS OUTRAGEOUS . DECKING AVERAGES ABOUT 20 TO 30 BUCKS OR CHEAPER FOR A 4 X 8 PLANK. I CAN PURCHASE 20 SQUARES OR ABOUT 60 BUNDLES OF SHINGLES FOR UNDER 2 GRAND. CHEAP VINYL GUTTERS GO FOR ABOUT 25 CENTS A FOOT. DID BARRY THINK WE WERE RICH OR RECENT POWERBALL WINNERS? HE SHOULD HAVE TRIED TO GIVE US A MORE REALISTIC FIGURE AND NOT STICK IT TO US WITH A SUPER HIGH PROFIT MAKING PRICE. YOUR PERFECT RECORD ON ANGIE'S LIST IS NO LONGER. I AM NOT STUPID AND I KNOW WHEN SOMEONE IS TRYING FLEECE ME. YOU WILL NOT MAKE ANY MONEY OFF OF ME!

He used a device that made sure there was no leaks around the windows where air could leak in or out. He also showed me that I needed insulation in my attack and offered a quote on a quality home evaluation of our energy consumption. I declined to have it since we are planning to move in the next year or two and we just really didn't have the money right now.

i live in a 64 year old home with window that had decay. I called and Mr. Lawler gave me an estimate on replacing the windows, they came and measure the windows. the installers were on time and very pleasant. My windows look greata job well done!

He arrived on time, brought in the sample window and explained thoroughly how it was manufactured and what to look for from other dealers.

My husband and I had dreaded replacing our double-hung windows and sliding glass door. Not only did we fear it would be expensive, we also worried that we'd lose a lot of glass/light because high efficiency windows and doors have a thicker frame. After talking and receiving quotes from three other companies, our fears seemed to be confirmed. Then I found the Big Deal from Factory Direct on Angie's List ... and there was hope. Nathan came out and - oh good heavens - I cannot even tell you how much I appreciated not having to go through the whole song and dance sales pitch. Whew! The price was right - really right! - so I went out to their office to look at models. (Yes, it would have been nice if they had brought the samples to our house but, for a $2,000 difference, I could roll with it!) We were pleasantly surprised to learn that FD offers to "wrap" the window trim with aluminum siding for FREE. Yes, that's free. Other companies were quoting us more than $800 for the same service. Woohoo! Ultimately we declined the offer simply because we weren't able to match the siding to our existing trim color. But still, we appreciated the opportunity. Another plus was the grid pattern. We didn't want to keep the full grids (the traditional 6 "boxes" above and 6 below) but we also knew that a completely blank window (no grids) wouldn't suit our house either. Nathan worked with us so that we had a custom grid, which we'd seen another (much more expensive) supplier offer. Not only did we get exactly what we wanted, it cost less than the traditional grids. Score! My husband and I gritted our teeth and placed the order, hoping for the best. Imagine our surprise when Mike and Tim came out several weeks later and installed beautiful windows. Oh my goodness! Between clear glass (no more condensation!), fewer grids, and improved screens (even with the thicker "pet mesh" the visibility was still an improvement), it looks like we have sunshine for miles. That goes a long way on a cold winter's day, folks! I've already used the double-hang feature to help get fresh air in the house - it worked great - and have been in and out of the slider half a dozen times. No more shoving matches with the (old) door! When my (nervous and skeptical) husband came home after the work was done, I could hear his positive exclamations from outside! He was completely won over - and then some! We are absolutely delighted. Mike even made sure to do some extra finishing work on the outside of our slider to ensure that, since it's thicker and sticks out more than our old door, rain would run off the top properly instead of pooling and leaking. And Tim brought out the shop vac to ensure all scraps had been picked up inside. They used a broom and dustpan outside which, although helpful, resulted in some small scraps (and they are sharp!) lingering on the deck and porch. Considering everything else they did - and how well they did it - it's a very minor issue. My husband and I will just take our shop vac outside and do a few quick passes. Last note - both Mike and Tim were professional and courteous throughout. We felt good about having them in our home. Thanks guys!

They came out to replace all my windows and door around 9:00am. I could not wait to get my new windows! The installers were great and very nice guys. They cleaned up after their selves which made me happy that I didn't have to clean up after them once they were finished. They made sure to take care of every detail right down to the trim. My house looks completely different and I've noticed a difference on my energy bills too this summer, so I can't wait to see how well they do in the winter. I purchased my windows with low e and argon, from my research it makes a big difference. My hat is off to Factory Direct and I'm so glad I did my homework!!

The installers had an assembly line working. One of the installers would take out a window and another would put in a window and the next installer would trim the windows with custom trim. They finished our project in one day and it looks like a new house. They also did fascia trim as well at the peak of the house which added a little extra touch. This was a nice remodel project!!! I will be calling them again soon for another project that we have in mind. Awesome job!!

I responded to an ad, Factory Direct Home Improvement, came out and showed me samples of the windows they would be putting in the house. Purchased new windows for the house from Factory Direct Home Improvement. They worked around my schedule for the estimate and installation. They did a fantastic job!! We love the windows and we will call them again on the next project. Great people to work with and fast turn around time is what I like. Thank you!!!
