Factory Direct

It seems we had a very similar experience with the office manager, Dave. He came to provide the estimate because he said the other estimator was tied up with another appointment, so he basically let us know he was doing us a favor. The estimate itself took an unreasonable amount of time. I believe he was at our home well over an hour, but he would go out to his truck and not come back for 10 minutes, taking calls. If I am the customer you are serving, your attention should be on me, not answering your phone. He also said he could beat any other estimate by 10-60%, but only if we give him the other company's paperwork. I understand wanting to compare apples to apples, but just give me your best price. More than once he told us he wasn't just trying to make a sale, he was trying to "help" us. Come on - this isn't missionary work. It's a window sale. Everyone deserves to make a profit, so don't try to disguise it as something it isn't. We finally, against our better judgement, gave him the Window World estimate and he said he would get back to us with a better price. He was sure to tell us that the WW windows were inferior to what he could sell us. Six days later we have yet to hear from him at all. Not interested in doing business with them at all anymore.

My experience was great! The installers were very nice, clean, and picked up after themselves. The install turned out great!

The installers did great work. They were on time and very clean as well. I live in very nice neighborhood that we all like to keep updated, so I was not sure at first about this project. I wanted to make sure I bought the right windows that would last for the next 35 years or longer. After a lot of research and 6 different window companies, we choose Factory Direct. The installer had over 30 years of experience...He was a little slow, but his attention to detail was phenomenal!!! I would much rather a this type of an install than a fast and sloppy one. We made the right decision.

Installers were extremely kind and clean. They did excellent work...I'm extremely satisfied! Thank you very much!

Dave Raymond, office manager, dropped by my home to give me an estimate to replace 4 windows. He first asked me if I had any other estimates and I told him Window World gave me one the day before. He told me they don't finish the job without charging me for trim work, that there would be a large gap open that would need to be filled in with loads of caulk. Then he had a long phone call that interupted our appointment. After awhile he came back in and quickly scribbled some figures on a brochure paper (the bottom of which said "We'll beat any written quote by 10 to 60%!!!", gave me his price $2,330. I mentioned that his price was $600 more than Window Worlds. He asked me to email him their invoice. He said he would present it to his boss for approval. I emailed it to him the next day (Thursday). As I hadn't heard back from him by the end of the day the following Tuesday I emailed him again. I told him that 3 full workdays had passed and that if I didn't hear from him by the end of the 4th day (Wednesday) that I would have Window World do the job. Today (Thursday) I called Window World & told them to do the job. I chose Factory Direct as an alternative because of their A rating. It was a waste of my time.

GREAT! Always called ahead of time, great work, and very meticulous. I was AMAZED at the professionalism involved, and care given by the installers and Factory Direct as a whole. I would use this company again in the future...

The service was not very good at all.

I have now given this a year before writing it so as to be able to judge the products properly. We initially had downstairs windows installed and then we were persuaded to have insulation installed too. They were punctual and professional and did a good job of cleaning up after they had finished. The windows are a good cheap window for the price. The promise on the insulation was that it would reduce our heating bills by a considerable amount. Now considering that we have had a milder winter this year, this has not been the case. They have insulatesd all horizontal roof spaces but left vertical walls uninsulated. So how is that supposed to keep the heat in? Watch out for them on this and be sure you know what you are paying for. The product itself seems good enough but without completely covering the walls of a room that encroaches on to a loft space, you cannot insulate it sufficiently. I would have expected them to know this or if they did, to have pointed it out.

I ended up getting 10 windows all together and the patio glass door. This was the best project I have done to my home, I am so happy with them! The windows are absolutely beautiful and add so much to the look of my home! They installed these in the freezing cold and in just two days! I am also very satisfied with the patio as it much lighter than my old one and the look is great as well!

Poorly. I won't recommend them.

I would never use a company that uses Bait and Switch methods when doing business. To double the price between the estimate and contact is not ethical way of doing business.

It went great from start to finish. Started with Dave the consultant from Factory Direct coming out to our home to give us an estimate. He was great, and didn't try to sell us like so many other home improvement companies. We looked at all our options and he pointed out that we didn't need to replace every window. That was nice, and no one else did that for us out of all the other companies that came out to our home. The installation went really well, the installers started at 11:00 am and finished around 6:00 pm, they were very clean and took the time clean up after their selves. They also did a wonderful job on the windows, it seems as if our home was built around the windows they installed. I feel as if I made a great choice, although it wasn't very hard after reading all the reviews here on Angie's List.

Everything looked great and installed correctly. They took extra time out to make sure the windows were tightly secure too.

Everything went really well! The windows look amazing!! I wanted to wait till my windows were installed for over a year before I put in this review. The windows have held up each year against the cold, saving me over 50.00 per month on my heating bill. The people at Factory Direct are very nice and accommodating. I love to see companies like this that make replacing windows affordable and provide products that last and hold up over time.

I was referred to Factory Direct by my boss and 4 other co-workers. I will be using them again next spring for another property. I am very well pleased, they did a great job!

The windows look excellent! The installers were great and did an outstanding job. They took there time to make sure every window was installed right. Once they were finished I had to call JD and tell him it was everything he said it would be. I love a company that delivers exactly what they say. The decision to go with Factory Direct was the right choice and I'm glad that I chose them. I will use Factory Direct again in the future.

The installers were great!! JD is the BEST!!! Really enjoyed the installers...I would love to have a sign in my yard due to the fact I am so well pleased, so my neighbors can see who installed my windows. Job well done!

I couldn't have asked for anything better, it's better than what I imagined. Mike, Tim, and JD were great to work with! The work was excellent, friendly, courteous and clean. I would definitely use Factory Direct again in future and recommend them. I love the attention to detail that these guys pay attention to and taking the time to do it right. You just don't see that type of service anymore these days. A+ on every level!!

Everything went great!! The windows look beautiful and the installers did an excellent job. The installers cleaned up very well behind themselves which is very important to us. When purchasing windows we highly recommend Factory Direct Windows! The quality is there, service is some of the best we've seen, price is truly a factory direct pricing from what we found when researching all the window companies in Indianapolis. They didn't pressure us to replace all of our windows like the other window companies, JD pointed out which windows were bad and which windows were okay. We like that and thats good business!!

This was the second time I called them. I called awhile ago to come out and do a estimate on some siding. I live in Clayton, IN. The first time I called, I gave them all my information, and they had no problem coming out. I had to cancel the first appointment because some other appointments came up, and when I called back yesterday morning, I gave the girl all my information and she passed it on to their salespeople. When they called me back, I was told this time around they don't come out to Clayton. Needless to say, I was not very happy with this and told them I would be calling Angie’s List.

I called in to setup an appointment for an estimate on 10/03 and the representative gave me a time on 10/08. I received a call today and was told that my appointment was cancelled because my request was too small for their business. I totally understand that they only put effort in big tickets but I would have really appreciated if they would have informed me when they gave me a time slot at the first place. Just like theirs my time is important as well.

My son came out to take a look at my new windows and he was very impressed with the windows upstairs and in the basement. Everything went great, we thought we would have to paint after the windows were installed. My son went outside to paint and there was nothing to paint!! Factory Direct, the consultant, and installers did a great job from start to finish, the installers were very friendly and cleaned up very well after they finished putting in our windows. I love Angie's List, due to the fact I was able to pick out one of the best companies with awards and an A+ Rating from Angie's List like Factory Direct. This is the first time I've used Angie's List, and will definitely use them again. I will call Factory Direct again for my next project, when I save up the money.

Everyone at Factory Direct was great and it was a wonderful experience from sales to the installation!! We really enjoyed JD and the installation crew, and the head installer Mike. The project turned out great and Mike and Tim were awesome!!
