Ty did a great job of inspecting the home I had a purchase agreement on. The home was built in 1900 and was a very amazing property that was going to need some work and I was looking forward to take on. After Ty's inspection I had much different thoughts on the house. This would have been my first home purchase and I'm glad I used Ty before moving forward with the purchase as the entire electrical service was definitely in need of replacement and the roof would need to be replaced. Spending $375 using Ty ended up saving me probably close to $10,000. Ty was there for a total of 6 hours. Ty's wife Chriss was also one of the most personable and patient people of all as my inspection had to keep getting put off because of delays on the banks end who held the property. In the end I did not purchase the house as I felt it would have been a bad investment for me as a first time homebuyer but the investment in Ty's services was definitely worth it and I would highly highly highly recommend him to anyone and use him myself again. My thanks go both out to Ty and Chriss for making my first experience with a home inspector great and very informative.

Ty was on time, did an extensive inspection (including snaking a camera on a wire into key spots in the wall that were suspect because of high moisture count) and carefully explained each step of the process and his findings to me. He gave me action recommendations based on accepted standards set by a national self-regulating body, but also helped me understand which of those recommendations might be overkill given our specific circumstances. I ended up feeling that he gave me excellent advice based on deep subject matter knowledge combined with a practical attitude that put me, as the homeowner, first. I would definitely use his services again and recommend him highly to others.

They did not find the cause of the smell, but they did find a solution, so I was happy with their services.

Ty was on time and showed me a sample inspection report which was very impressive. He then went through his qualifications. He then did the full inspection and pointed out many items that needed repaired or areas I should keep an eye on. I just received a detailed report breaking my whole house down. He even gave me advice on how to repair some of the minor problems. If you need a home inspection, I would definitely call homeworx. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Ty arrived for the home inspection and was extremely patient, informative, and thorough, from start to finish. He took his time with us and went over every little detail. He did a very detailed inspection of the entire home including going into the crawl space and onto the roof. He spent a total of 6 1/2 hours with us which was wonderful because I had heard of many home inspectors only spending 2-3 hours with their clients. It was so obvious that he had our best interest in mind and his professionalism and attention to detail was the same at the 6th hour as it was on the 1st hour. After the home inspection was complete he emailed us over his report which was very detailed and layed out in an easy to understand format. During our inspection, Ty located 2 gas leaks in the basement and when we went to the seller's with this information, they brought in 2 different people to fix the leaks. The seller came back to us and said that their people did not find anything. We asked Chriss about this and she immediately wanted to call and speak to our Realtor to find out who did the work so she could contact them directly to resolve the situation for us. She did so immediately and got to the bottom of this situation on our behalf and for our safety. It ended up being the other people's discrepancy and we felt safe about the situation because Homeworx took care of it for us! I will always recommend Homeworx to anyone in need of a Home Inspection. It was truly a pleasure working with Chriss and Ty and a very educational experience!

I could never have asked for a more thorough inspection. In the document he included photos, a schedule of maintenance items. This house was built in 1920 and remodeled in 1950. This house has dropped ceilings with fluorescent lighting. He took down the ceiling panels to expose the cracks in the plaster ceiling. The shocking thing was what my real estate agent stated when I asked if he would recommend this inspector and he stated not on a house he expected to sell, now I understand why you do not take a recommendation for a home inspector from your real estate agent. Ty and Chris ARE THE BEST.

We contacted Homeworx and promptly received a call back. Kris (who is the wife) was very thorough in explaining the process, and explained each of their services and pricing information. The inspection was scheduled within two weeks. Ty came on a Thursday around 11:45 and stayed until around 5:30pm. He was very professional and matter-of-fact. He conducted the interior inspection first, and then walked us around to show us what he found, then did the exterior, and finally the attic. My husband and I both thought the inspection was thorough, and it helped a great deal in determining necessary work. He was patient in answering questions, and was very in tune with what we were asking. He also made himself available to answer any questions post inspection. We would use this company again, and would most likely recommend them to others who are looking for an inspector.

We were very happy! Ty took about 4 hours to inspect the house from rooftop to basement crawl space. He took pictures of everything, which are included in our detailed final report. He identified several issues that needed immediate attention (including the replacement of the circuit breaker box) and we were able to get the compensation from the sellers to re-mediate. The report is now our guide to repairing and maintaining the house. Ty is a one-man shop (no subs), and we were very comfortable with his experiences, licensing, and reasons for being in business. Final price was a little higher than original estimate due to addition of mold testing.

This was a wonderful experience! Ty was extremely thorough and explained everything he was doing while we walked through the house. He even gave us pointers on how to fix things as issues may arise around our new home. Since this was our first time buying, we obviously had tons of questions and Ty was patient and understanding throughout the whole process. We absolutely felt comfortable that Ty was knowledgeable and extremely experienced in his field. After our inspection was completed, he presented us with a detailed inspection packet with pictures that he had taken with his digital camera around the house. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a home inspector.

I was impressed with Ty Nuckols' knowledge, professionalism, and careful attention to detail, particularly in the care he took in removing the samples. He took a lot of time explaining what he was doing and why. The lab fees were expensive, $55 per sample, but I was told the cost in advance when I scheduled the appointment, and I had the option of using fewer samples. (Since my daughter just had a baby, I decided to spend the extra money for more samples for my granddaughter's protection). Ty's fee was very reasonable, especially considering the time he spent at the house. Ty and his family live in an older home, too, so he has had personal experience in dealing with lead paints and stain in his own house and with his own child.

All of the positive comments about Chris and Ty are completely accurate. They are both very friendly, responsive, and obviously really care about their customers. There is not a more thorough, honest inspector than Ty Nuckols. Ty even let me walk around with him and ask questions. It's simple: we will always use him in the future.

Before schdueling an appointment, was instructed to have all utilities on in order to do a through inspection. Very detailed on the procedure to get the inspection completed and on time. Responded in a timely manner. Great follow-up to make sure everything was going as scheduled. Purchasing a home is stressfull, they made it less stressful. They addressed every issue a homeowner would be concerned about in purchasing a home.

Chriss and Ty are an awesome husband and wife team. Chriss answers the phone and schedules the inspections, while Ty actually performs the inspection. I am very pleased with this company. Ty was very informative and actually took his time while inspecting my house. This is my first home and it was so nice to have an inspector that allowed me to walk around with him the entire time while he explained everything to me. He took many pictures and wrote up an entire report that goes along with the pictures. He also provided me with a check list of things that need to be done to the home at certain times of the year. Some of the things on the checklist I would have never known to do if it weren't for Ty. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

I had called Ty primarily to set up an inspection of a home I was purchasing. Chriss was very professional and friendly on the phone and we had set up the inspection for a Wednesday. During the inspection, mold was noted in the attic and I decided to do some mold testing. Ty was able to set this up for the very next day since we had ran out of time that day. Both days Ty showed up on time, would explain the process of what we were going to do. Would allow me to follow and answer any questions. Samples were taken from 5 areas. Results were sent to me 3 days later. Ty was helpful in finding web sites with additional information and for both the inspected and mold testing was very willing to answer any of my questions at a later time over the phone including on the weekend. Very polite and very professional. Took the time to do everything right.

I called and spoke to Chriss on the phone to set up the appointment and she was very polite and professional and was able to set up a time that was convienent for me. Ty showed up to the appointment exactly on time, explaining what he would be doing. I followed as he inspected everything and explained what he saw allowing me to ask as many questions as I would like. We spent 7 hours going over every aspect of the house. We found some mold and were able to set up mold testing for the next day which I have reviewed seperately under mold inspection. He had the detailed report out to me in 2 days and I was able to get the sellers to repair all the things I asked for. Ty has also made himself available to answer any questions that I thought up including over the weekends. He even gave me a pair of disposable overalls so I could accompany him into the crawl space if I was interested. He was extremely polite, professional, prompts, available and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Company responded to my call immediately. Ty Nuckols was prompt. He performed the most thorough home inspection I can imagine. Took four hours. Explained all issues in an easy to understand way, including suggestions for maintenance, repair or improvement. Thorough inspection of difficult-to-access crawl space. Attention to detail was amazing! Included picture documentation in a thirty page report. Report was well-organized and included a maintenance advice checklist. This gentleman is obviously an expert in home construction and environmental hazards. His advice alone was well worth the cost. We did buy the home.

Wonderful customer-oriented approach from the front office, detail-oriented and thorough inspection from the inspector. Very professional demeanor and very helpful report with pictures of the problems. This made it very easy for me to determine what services I needed to fix the problem and no worry about being sold "a bill of goods".

Excellent experience. Mr. Nuckols went over every square inch of the home we are buying, inside and outside. He closely examined every detail of all systems. As an example, he tested every single electrical outlet and inspected the entire electrical system. He clearly explained to me everything he was doing, so I fully understood every aspect of the inspection. He is an excellent communicator, so it was a positive experience for me. He found several issues, which we raised with the sellers. They agreed to correct each item. I am very satisfied, and feel I received excellent value.

Ty was very helpful from the first phone call. We chose Ty based on his numerous certifications, including mold inspection. We wanted his opinion on how we could solve the moisture problem in our basement before our two year warranty was up on our new home. Ty was extremely thorough in his inspection and very knowledgeable. We have had many home inspections on different houses and this was, by far, the most thorough. We will definitely call on Ty for future home inspection needs.

Used Angie's list to find them. Was able to schedule an appointment quickly - just three days from when I called them. We are in New York and one of us flew out to meet him for the home inspection. He was very thorough and helpful. He also did our pest inspection. The inspection report has been very helpful. It took a couple days to get the report, but I know he had to do a lot due to the condition of the house. All in all I'm pleased.
